I am Danae Dekker, a composer and technical audio designer for games and interactive media.
I'm fascinated by musical storytelling in a fantastical and whimsical setting, which I apply in autonomous compositions, games and interactive media. Moreover I have a broad knowledge of software and coding skills to implement music and audio in any interactive project.

As a long time fan of the early Rayman games, I've remastered the audio of the intro of Rayman 2: The Great Escape. Using my skills as a composer for games, I re-orchestrated the iconic track "Prologue ~ Anguish and Pain" into an epic orchestral version, but still reminiscent of the original. If you listen carefully, you'll even hear a hint to the Robo-Pirate music "On the Front Lines" in the percussion!
Discover the duality between being either a chonky buff cat or an agile mage cat in the streets of ancient Greece.
Last weekend I worked on the audio, music and some coding for Cathens, a small platformer about the duality of strength and wisdom, for Global Game Jam 2022. Play the game now at https://cheezegami.itch.io/cathens!

What happens when one careless faerie doesn't pay attention where she's flying? She gets caught in a spider's web, of course. This is a orchestral piece I composed, which is based on a short story I wrote some time ago.

Every day we deal with problems that occur during the day. Sometimes those problems pile up and we wait to deal with them. In some realities those problems can manifest into something physical, and entrap us within ourselves. Find the crystalized negativity and destroy them so that you can escape! Along the way you will find shards of yourself, maybe they can help?
Secrets everywhere... I'm happy to share this piece of music I recently made for a game that's still in the works. Stay tuned for more on this really awesome project in the future!

What better way to celebrate Christmas than with new music? This piece was inspired by my own track "Celestine II", which I conjured up back in 2013, along with a spoonful of the epic orchestra from Two Steps From Hell and the vibe from big movies and games! Have a merry Christmas and all the best for the upcoming year!

Originally made for a school assignment in creating meditative lyrical music, First Rain depicts the contrast between ignorance and clarity, resembling the first rainfall after a long dry time.
As the author, I could have used a full stop. To end my story. But instead I chose a semicolon; and to continue on.
This piece was a school assignment to compose a musical piece based on a work of art, so I chose DestinyBlue's artwork The Author, which can be found at https://destinyblue.deviantart.com/art/The-Author-676400524
