The anointing of God is not in anything of ourselves. It is not in our merit, our resume, or our gifting. It is not in an emotion or experience in ourselves. It is not about us!

The anointing of God is in our abiding in Him and it is never an end in itself. The greatest delight and the greatest fulfillment of God’s anointing is in living our lives completely in the purposes of God completely for the glory of God.

Rev. Jun continues in our sermon series on “The Spirit-Led Life” with a message on “Walking in the Anointing.”

What does it mean to be Christian? The reality is, Jesus does not only reconcile and restore our relationship with God. He brings us reconciliation and restoration with each other as well. But we live in the most divisive and hostile world today, even within the church. This is because the root of hostility and division stems from placing ourselves at the center.

Everything begins to truly and ultimately change when Jesus Christ is placed at the center. The true Gospel permeates not only to us individually but to the community. The Gospel is the message of God that turns me into ‘us!’

So as we go from today, let us together take our faith beyond the walls and confines of a Sunday service. Let us put Jesus at the center of our lives, humble ourselves and open our lives to one another, seeking to build one another up in faithfulness, holiness and love for God.

We conclude our series on “Walking in Freedom” with a message by Rev. Jun Kwon titled “Deliver Me from Me.”

Our passage today speaks of a leper seeking healing. And we find that Jesus, cut to his heart with compassion, reaches out and touches this leper to heal him. And understanding what it meant to be a leper reveals the radical love of God in the way Jesus heals this man.

Jesus could have healed him from a distance. But Jesus knew this man needed more than just healing. And we could just ask for a Word today. But Jesus knows we need much more than a Word. He is the Word that became flesh who gave his entire self for us.

We continue our series on “Walking in Freedom” with a message by Rev. Jun Kwon titled “Freedom From Quarantine.”

Scripture speaks of fear not as an emotion but as a spirit. And at the root of fear is a distortion of who God is and who you are. But in our efforts to overcome fear, sometimes we minimize it, we ignore it, we pretend not to be afraid, or we hype ourselves to a feeling of being unafraid.

But fear can only be driven out by faith. A faith that is not bravado, not blind boldness, and not faking it until you make it. It is a faith that comes to grips with our fears in light of knowing who you are in Christ and knowing the God who is with you. Faith doesn’t mean the fears go away. Faith is the power and resilience to continue walking through the fear.

We conclude our series on “Walking in Freedom” with a message by Rev. Jun Kwon titled “Driving Fear Out.”

We need to realize that it is impossible for us to change ourselves. We cannot defeat sin and satan by our own strength. It is only by the power of God that we are changed. The reality that makes the Gospel good news is that transformation and victory was done for us by Jesus. The power to change isn’t through our efforts and it isn’t by knowing more or believing more. The power to change rests completely on who we believe in. It is found when we come under the love and grace of God.

We continue our series on “Walking in Freedom” with a message by Rev. Jun Kwon titled “Power to Change.”

Living in the power of Christ’s resurrection is freedom. Freedom even in the midst of darkness, uncertainty and grief. It is the freedom to be sorrowful yet always rejoicing. The freedom and joy that Paul & Silas had in God could not be taken away by being beaten, tortured, tied up and imprisoned. The world cannot take away what God has given! So let there be resurrection power in our life testimony. Let us live as a window to heaven to the world.

We begin a new 3 part series on “Walking in Freedom” with the first sermon by Rev. Jun Kwon titled “Freedom in Chains.”

The resurrection of Jesus is not about a denial of the reality of death but an embrace of a greater reality. It is deeper and stronger that our despair and sufferings. It is deeper and stronger than our fears and doubts and failures.

The victory in Christ’s resurrection overwhelmed and defeated the sting of sin and death! And because of the resurrection, our story is not over. Jesus has the final word in our lives. Our hope is alive! He is Risen!

When we are filled with disappointment, depression or grief, we cannot ignore it, we must overcome it. And we can overcome it through Jesus. Jesus makes the way for us to show His love in the face of disappointments, depression and grief. No matter what happens in life, we are not left without hope. If you are thirsty, if you feel drained and weary, come to the waters of Jesus and be refreshed! Jesus frees us to worship.

Reverend Pete Richardson brought us a timely message on Palm Sunday titled “Free to Worship.”

As we wrap up our series “Genesis: Windows & Mirrors,” we look beyond the characters and narratives to see God who not only works through the good but works even through the bad. That although it may be imperceptible and although it may sometimes seem improbable, God is most definitely at work in our lives.

We see in the life of Joseph over and over again that “the Lord was with Joseph.” The Lord is with you today. God is never surprised. God is not a reactive God. He is in control. What was meant for evil, God means it for good. In every moment, even moments of rejection, pain, fear and despair, God is with us and God is for us.

Through Jacob’s life, we see that we are like him in his deception and tribulations. But the power and beauty of the Gospel is that God gave us a new name even when we couldn’t earn it and even when we didn’t deserve it.

Listen to today’s message “Called By A New Name” by Pastor Joseph Ryu as we continue in our series “Genesis: Windows and Mirrors.”

Everyday, we willingly exchange and trade the most valuable thing for a counterfeit. We forfeit the eternal for a temporary pleasure.

We need to know what our spiritual birthright is to know how foolish it is to trade it away for anything else in this world and of this world. But even if we know it, an inheritance is nothing without our relationship with the Father. An inheritance without God is the definition of being lost. And so, we must not only know our birthright, we must live in it.

Listen to this week’s message by Rev. Jun as he speaks of “What We Give Up” as we continue our series “Genesis: Windows and Mirrors.”

Many times, God’s invitation to intercede finds us in the middle of circumstances of hardship, discomfort or danger. And because of those we often times consider God’s will and God’s calling for our life to be something else and somewhere else. So we try to leverage God to get us out of where He has placed us.

Where you are now is where God has called you to be. Like Abraham and like Jesus himself, our journey of faith often means we are called to be in the middle. Are you able to trust and obey God through it? Because that middle is exactly where God’s been waiting for you.

Listen now to a sermon by Reverend Jun Kwon titled "Called to the Middle" of a new series called "Genesis: Windows and Mirrors"

The God that we worship calls us by a new name even before we deserve it. Through our passage today, we are reminded that our faith is not based on our merit but by God’s grace.

Abraham and Sarah could only laugh at the impossible promise of God. We might also hold out God’s promises with doubts and disappointments as well. But as we seek God, God’s delay is not denial. Waiting on God is not His rejection, but it is a profound and personal invitation to intimacy.

Listen now to a sermon by Reverend Jun Kwon titled "Laughing at God" of a new series called "Genesis: Windows and Mirrors"

The Gospel is counterintuitive to our wisdom. The story of the Tower of Babel shows us that when we try to build our lives by our own strength and power, we grow farther way from God no matter how much or how high we build. However, on the other side of the cross of Christ— there is the unmerited grace of God who freely gave himself for His sons and daughters who are willing to wait upon him in surrender and humility!

Money is not our provider. God is our Provider. God has no need for the money and devotion we give to Him but actually, we are the ones who cannot live without giving to Him. The fact is, we are the ones who need God. As Martin Luther once said, “I have held many things in my hands, and I have lost them all... whatever I have placed on God's hand I still possess.”

As we continue in our series "Genesis: Divine Blueprint," Reverend Jun highlights in the Scriptures that our offering to God is not simply the amount or percentage we give, but that it must be our first and best and furthermore, our entire lives.

As we continue in our series "Genesis: Divine Blueprint," Reverend Jun highlights in the Scriptures that in the fall of man, we struggle to cover up our own sins, our shame, our own inadequacies, and try to fix ourselves and clean up our own mess. But it was never enough.

But the good news is that we have a God who has covered us. God's ultimate response is this: No matter how far we've gone from God through our sins and our rebellion, God still comes down and reaches out to us and asks, "Where are you?"

This week, we begin a new sermon series titled "Genesis: Divine Blueprint" with the first sermon on the true Sabbath that God has given us. Sabbath rest is not a reward for hard work. We do not work to rest but we work from rest. This begins the divine blueprint of God revealed in Genesis.
