Not a Pity Party Podcast by Resilience Collective: Recent Episodes

Resilience Collective

Not A Pity Party podcast by Resilience Collective overturns the stereotype that those living with mental health conditions are helpless, constantly feeling sorry for themselves, and a victim to their illness.

Through this podcast featuring peer voices and stories of discovery, self-empowerment and peer support, we want to inspire hope and courage in our listeners to know that mental health recovery is real. It is possible to exit the pity party and to find new purpose and meaning in the midst of mental health challenges.

Through RC’s strong peer community, peers are able to empower each other and foster mental resilience as they navigate their mental health journeys.

Our guest for this episode is a mental health advocate with Resilience Collective who has been part of panel discussions and featured in the media on youth mental health issues.

Tas shares what it’s like as a youth living with anxiety and panic attacks, to be in ‘fight or flight’ mode all the time, and how her teachers supported her first steps to seek help. She tells us that her objective is not to be ‘calm as a potato’ but to recognise the red flags, celebrate the small milestones, and to be kind to herself.
