Minister Samuel Hendricks On June 18, 1985, the Lord both answered a prayer and fulfilled a promise by blessing Sam and Lourdene Hendricks with a gift that would touch the lives and hearts of many: Samuel, whose name has various translations including “Heard of God” and “Asked of God.” Minister Hendricks initially heard the call to preach the word of God in 2006, yet he would not embrace the call until seven years later. Understanding the great significance of such a task, he would only take this assignment once he was fully committed to doing so. He knew that the lives God would afford him the opportunity to speak into were too precious not to be handled with great care, including greater accountability and access to greater grace on his behalf. By profession Minister Hendricks is a classically-trained musician and singer, who has been playing piano and organ since his early childhood years. He has served as Musician, Director, and Minister of Music at churches throughout Natchez, MS and Baton Rouge LA. Currently, he serves as organist and choir director at Greater St. Stephen FGBC of New Orleans LA, under the leadership of Pastor Dr. Debra B. Morton and Co-Pastor Bishop Paul S. Morton. In addition, he serves as Executive Pastor at Praise Temple Full Gospel Baptist Church of Baton Rouge under the leadership of Pastor Winton Anderson. He has served as a guest clinician for various workshops throughout the United States. He holds active memberships in Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity Inc. and the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP). Minister Hendricks, believing strongly in the importance of education. Currently. He is pursuing a Master's Degree in Theology at Xavier University. He has obtained a Master of Vocal Performance at Loyola University in New Orleans, LA. He graduated Magna Cum Laude, receiving a Bachelor of Science in Piano Performance at Alcorn State University. Whether ministering through music, or preaching, the mission of Samuel R Hendricks Ministries is to continually seek an outpouring of the power of God in order to engage and empower the people of God with the principles of His word; to meet the economical, psychological, social and spiritual challenges of our communities; starting within, but reaching out to the world.
