ST Vaughn came from a typically southern musical background. He grew up in the church hearing those soulful, joyful songs. Then go to a cook out or family gathering and hear Luther and Marvin Gaye; it’s a beautiful thing to be born and raised where he is from. Another thing about being in the South is the bands. ST Vaughn is a marching band veteran; he started playing the drums at about five or six years old and it grew from there.

As we watch what is happening in our country, politically and socially it's hard not to be reminded of how things have changed, yet, how much they have actually stayed the same. Back in the 60’s when I was born, the civil rights movement took on a very different look once it was televised. Most of the country didn’t realize what was going on outside of their comfort zone until they turned on the television and witnessed with their own eyes the injustice that was taking place in the world as they sat on their comfy couches.
Fast forward to 2018 when we no longer have to turn the knob of a television set to view the news as we are now walking around with it 24/7 365 right in the palms of our hands with a Smartphone or other mobile device.
Through the decades there have been many individuals and groups more specifically artists who have been on the right side of the law and in the thick of activism. Many have used their platforms and their ability to use their talents to command large audiences in order to spread the word of injustices.
Most of us have heard about artists who are activist such as Nina Simone, Paul McCartney, Stevie Wonder, Bono, Sting, James Baldwin and Mos Def, who have been vocal, but what about the local artists in our own communities who are activist?
My guest, Madeline Porter is an artist with a cause and we will talk about it this evening at 6 PM EST. Listen in or call in to share your cause at (516-453-9957).

As we watch what is happening at the border with children being taken into custody as their parents try to cross the border illegally from Mexico into the United States, it breaks our hearts, However, how are we feeling about fathers and sometimes mothers who are denied access to their children here in this country?
Yes, there are many stories of dead beat dads and missing men but how about those who are looking to be an important part of their children’s lives but the relationship is strained with their significant other?
There are many organizations that are helping those parents and in honor of Father’s Day last Sunday, I have the owner of one such organization, Ajawavi Ajavon., founder and sole owner of DAB Mediation Consultant, LLC.

Corey Jackson grew up in Cassatt, SC (with a population of 3,000) where he lived with his parents and four siblings in a singlewide mobile home. Although the Jacksons didn’t have much, Corey had extremely big and ambitious goals. At the age of five, he decided that he wanted to be a pro athlete and play in the NBA. Corey attended North Central High School where he became a basketball star. After a great high school basketball career, he expected to be recruited and receive multiple scholarship offers. However, to his surprise, he didn’t receive one offer.
Shortly after graduation, Corey took a seven dollar an hour job at Walmart. Fed up with his situation, Corey quit his job one year later and purchased a one-way ticket to Ranger, TX with his mind set on attending Ranger College, where he neither applied nor was accepted.
Professional Football Career: In 2003, Corey joined the Cleveland Browns as a defensive end and played two and a half seasons with the Browns. In 2004, Corey earned defensive player of the year in NFL Europe while playing for the Frankfurt Galaxy. In the Fall of 2005, Corey signed a two-year deal with the Denver Broncos. After several nagging injuries, Corey officially retired in 2008. Life After Football: Corey is an entrepreneur at heart. While playing in the NFL, Corey, along with a partner, started a real estate company that he and his partner dissolved after several years. As well, Corey began speaking professionally while playing in the NFL. In 2016, he published his first book Think Different. Be Different. Live Different. and he started a technology company called Qwerkz. In February of 2017, Qwerkz produced an application that connects professional athletes, brands and fans. In the Summer of 2017, Corey is releasing his documentary called From Walmart to The NFL: The Corey Jackson Story.

8:30pm/EST Author Larry Davis - The Re-Education of African American Children
Few would argue that today’s school system fails many African American students. Close studies of the problem have been made. Accusations of who to blame for the problem abound, but few, if any, propose a solution to the issue. Meanwhile, children across the United States are denied the chance to develop their skills and explore their potential. How many doctors have we lost? How many scientists, artists, or engineers?
Larry D. Davis plans to change this. He argues for a new approach to this long-standing problem—one that offers students, teachers, administrators, parents, and the larger community opportunity to take responsibility for a nationwide reeducation process.
This new book lays out Davis’s step-by-step plan to help African American children get the education they need to reach their full potential—a process that benefits not only individual students but also the nation as a whole.

3 Natural Hair Products Designed to Keep Your Scalp Healthy: bit.ly/2Hwnas2
Long gone are the days when home buyers would open a newspaper to look for properties for sale or look up names of real estate agents in a phonebook. Home-buyers today are online, therefore, it is imperative for any real estate agent to use social media in marketing their businesses and listings.
Sure, any realtor can open a Facebook or Instagram account, however, it's not always clear on how to use social media as a marketing tool to send the right message to the right people at the right time. Realtors who are heavily accustomed to employing old-school advertising tactics like Billboards, bus benches, and cold calls, can no longer deal this way.
Want to generate more real estate business? Then speak the language of your leads. Listen in to this Podcast as I chat with R.K. Wilson, Licensed Realtor® Myers Realty and we will discuss some tips on how realtors can successfully sell on social media.

Tonight on Love Is Power, we are going to talk about the difference between Sex and Making Love as well as other things. We also have a special guest named Ziina. Ziina is a sing and song writer.
Making Love is selfless. Sex can be selfish in a sense, because of the goal of self-gratification and separation there after with little to no physical contact until the next act of sex.
Making Love consists of the positive things you say and do from within your heart as a routine in effort to please not yourself, but your partner without the goal of self-gratification.
Couples/people have sex whether they’re in a relationship or not, in love or not in love, in the mood or not in the mood, like it or don’t like it. We also have a special guest. Ziina is joining also talking about the topic and her new song Making Love..

How many of you remember the story of a homeless man whose offer of assistance to a stranded motorist, using his last $20 to buy gas, netted him over 400K from a GoFundMe page that she started? Or how about Ted "Golden Voice" Williams a former radio host who went from homeless to Hollywood after a Dispatch heard him sing at a busy street intersection?
There are many more stories of homeless men, women, and children who are being helped by unsung heroes, and on this Podcast, I will be speaking with Dr. DeBorah Gilbert White, Founder of HerStory Ensemble, Community Empowerment Institute on ways she is working to educate the public, challenging myths and stereotypes about homelessness and how you too can help in this fight.

Although this topic is entitled Social Media and Depression, we all know that depression didn’t start with social media and mental illness has been around since Biblical days. Even though the Bible doesn’t use the word “depression” it’s often referenced by other similar words, such as “downcast,” “brokenhearted,” “troubled,” “miserable,” “despairing,” and “mourning,” among others.
On this Podcast, we will be discussing Depression and Mental Illness with Lorena Wooten, author of “Fight For Your Life!” Breaking the Curse of Mental Illness and Depression” and why especially in the African American communities we are reluctant to talk about and hesitant to seek treatment.

Cyberbullying and Social Media was a topic that we first discussed here on the Podcast in 2016, but it seems to be increasing and now teen suicide rates are on the rise with heavy use of smartphones and social media. A study shows that suicide rates among teenagers have risen along with their ownership of smartphones and the overuse of social media, suggesting a disturbing link between technology and teen self-harm.
This evening's Podcast guest is Precious Allen, an International Children's Book author of "Love You For You!" and educator. She teaches in the inner city of Chicago, IL and is deeply passionate about building self-esteem and preventing suicide amongst young children.

In today’s society, not only are we, working adults running around a mile per minute dealing with daily stress, but so are many in the younger generation, more specifically Generation Z or those born from 1998 to 2016.
So if, I told you that there was a 15-20 minute activity that could decrease stress levels, improve your health and memory, strengthen writing and problem-solving skills, and motivates you to reach your goals, would you do it? Would it help to know it’s also free and you don’t have to leave the house?
I’m talking about keeping a journal. This evening we’re going to talk about how taking time to write is healthy and why you should make journaling part of your daily or weekly routine.
Special Guest, Lisa Wright Bryant, author of “You Are Enough: Keeping It 100 With Yourself” is a book/journal that encourages young adults to face the potentially paralyzing traps of their past and/or present that could stop them from living the life that they were created to live. The goal is to empower them by providing strategies to overcome those traps and a journal for them to track their progress, which will allow them to document their thoughts while on the journey.?
We are not talking about "Me First" in a evil, selfish, mean-minded, narcissistic, me-first mentality. Me First is in a way of self love and kindness to oneself so we can do and be better for ourselves as well as others.
Here on Love Is Power we will discuss just how to do that or how to be a step closer in making a better you a reality to a better you and vice versa.

Do you put GOD 1st?
Put GOD 1st in EVERYTHING YOU DO.
If you do not want to use the name GOD, use Divine Creator, Energy, LORD, Father, Best Friend ,The Light, King of Kings, Lord of Lords, Lord of the Hosts. Other names used by Christians include Ancient of Days, Father/Abba, "Most High" and the Hebrew names Elohim, El-Shaddai, Yahweh, Jehovah and Adonai etc. I love the energy that the creator has put in me, in us. I know he is with me and I know our creator has our back. We must be faithful to him and ourselves so we can be faithful to others. Those that are truly open to him know his power, Love Is Power.
Matthew 6:28-33
And why are you anxious about clothing? Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow: they neither toil nor spin, yet I tell you, even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these. But if God so clothes the grass of the field, which today is alive and tomorrow is thrown into the oven, will he not much more clothe you, O ye of little faith? Therefore do not be anxious, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’ For the Gentiles seek after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them all. ...
The Creator knows what we need and want, trust in him fully. Seek love and everything else great will follow.

I have blamed menopause for my weight gain, however, the beer and chips may have also contributed to it; a sedentary lifestyle, not to mention that I am always sitting - if not in the car for 3 hours which is my normal daily commute, but also when I get to work and then again when I return home, which I like to say is giving me a “blogger’s butt” .
However, it’s not just one particular factor, there are several but mainly it’s the preservatives and toxins that are in our foods which appears to be giving a big boost to the increased cancer diagnosis' in Americans. So when I met and spoke to Denise Ciancia, I wanted to learn more about Isagenix and how it could improve my life.
On this evening's Podcast, Denise and I discuss Isagenix as well as tips on staying fit after fifty and I will reveal the results after being on the program for 7-days.

Tonight at 8 pm on Love Is Power, the topic is Why Love Yourself. I truly believe, when people start to love themselves more each day, it’s amazing how their lives get better. They feel better. They get the jobs they want. They have the money they need. Their relationships either improve, or the negative ones dissolve and new ones begin.
It’s a very simple premise—loving yourself. I’ve been criticized for being too simplistic, and I have found that the simple things are usually the most profound.
Someone said to me recently, “You gave me the most wonderful gift—you gave me the gift of myself.” So many of us hide from ourselves and we don’t even know who we are. We don’t know what we feel, we don’t know what we want.
Life is a voyage of self-discovery. To me, to be enlightened is to go within and to know who and what we really are, and to know that we have the ability to change for the better by loving and taking care of ourselves.
The Power that created this incredible Universe has often been referred to as love. GOD is love. Love Is Power.
Tonight I will discuss with you what has worked for me and hopefully, it will work for you. I want more happiness in the world. #TeamWorkMakesTheDreamWork

Today on "Love Is Power", topic “Celebrities Are Human Too”.
Have you ever wanted to be a celebrity? There is a saying “be careful what you ask for you just might get it”. Have you ever heard, “all that glitters is not gold”? How about, “you think the grass is greener on the other side”. Being a celebrity can be a blessing or it can be a curse. I have seen people faint, cry, scream, yell and curse. I wish people would realize that celebrities are human and not idols. They have feelings, they get scared, they cry, they hurt, they get sick. A lot of them work very hard some overwork and some have no lives. Many are not happy and do not have real love or loving people around them. Some are depressed, many are on drugs.
Creed
Love Is Power, I AM LOVE, I LOVE MYSELF, Love Is My Power,
I will use my power to heal and better myself.
I WILL share MY POWER WITH those who are worthy.
No one can take MY power from me,
No ONE CAN DIMINISH THE POWER THAT MY CREATOR has given me.
I know WHAT I AM, I AM LOVE, I AM LIGHT, I AM POWERFUL, LOVE IS POWER

Hypnosis is the process of getting a person relaxed and giving them suggestions that may or may not help them to get their desired results. However, some people still associate hypnosis with demonic or satanic rituals like they may have seen in some B-Rated Horror flick.
However, hypnosis was actually birthed from the brains of psychologists and researchers, and while its origins are tarnished by decades of disrespect, it's now making its way back into the mainstream with dignity.
Podcast Guest, Tim Miller, a former Division 1 Head Football Coach from LaSalle University has been hypnotizing America on stage for years and soon will be seen on television with the launch of his own family's Hollywood Reality Show.
Tune in Sunday, October 15th at 6 PM EST to hear Tim demystify the myths of hypnosis.

Love Is Power, Topic "Sing to Me", is dedicated to all the Mother and daughters out there that have great relationships, this is also to the mother’s and daughter’s that do not have great relationships but wish we they did. This is also for the soon to be mothers. Mother-daughter relationships are complex and diverse. Some mothers and daughters are best friends. Others talk once a week. Some see each other weekly; others live in different states or countries. Some spar regularly. Some avoid conflict. Others talk through everything and undoubtedly, there’s a hint of all these things in most relationships.
There also are ups and downs, no matter how positive (or prickly) the relationship. Understanding a Mother-Daughter Conflict sees three primary complaints that daughters have about their moms: Moms try to parent them and are overly critical and demanding. From moms’ perspective, daughters don’t listen to them, make poor choices and have no time for them.
Whatever your relationship with your mother or daughter, you can always make improvements. On Love Is Power you are going to get some tools on how to enhance your communication and connection and cut down on clashes.
There are also some moms that are not maternal and plain evil, we will talk to and about those as well.

Learning how to study at the college level is a major transition for most freshmen because of the freedom and less structure of mom and dad telling them when to study, eat, sleep, etc. So it’s important for students to get prepared while they are still at home in high school as it will make the transition to college smoother.
In high school, the learning schedule is highly structured, and teachers are in charge of making sure students stay on task. In college, students will not have this type of hands-on instruction. College professors will give a syllabus at the beginning of each semester, and students will be in charge of making sure they stay on task.
Making good grades in school is important, however, the main goal of studying should be to learn and retain information. To do this, you must develop effective study skills and learning strategies. Dr. Stephen Jones, author of three books including "Seven Secrets of How to Study" will give us some tips on understanding the essential skills a student needs to learn in order to be successful in high school and college.
Today on Love Is Power, the topic is “Fake Smile”. Do you ever feel like you are always smiling but it is not genuine?Reason being you have a lot of pain and suffering going on inside of you. Instead of getting the help you just put on your mask that has a smile on it. People never know you are a ticking time bomb because you are a good actor or actress. Can you tell when someone is shooting you a fake smile? Even though fake smiles are easy enough to see through, we all still do it, attempting to show others just how happy we are when we're really feeling less than fantastic. Unfortunately, every smile we fake makes us a tiny bit more miserable. Let us know better so we can do better, shall we?

After-school activities present opportunities for your children to develop their goal-setting skills. Most extracurricular activities involve reaching or achieving a goal, whether it be the lead actor in the school play, winning the state championship or coming in first place in the science fair. As a result, these activities help encourage students to work toward achieving those goals, while having fun at the same time.
Another benefit to after-school activities is academic excellence and we will talk about the 8 reasons to get your children involved and why it's well worth the effort.

Have you ever experienced jealousy? Has it ever taken over? Do you know where it comes from? Jealousy is a complex emotion that encompasses feelings ranging from fear of abandonment to rage and humiliation. Jealousy strikes both men and women and is most typically aroused when a person perceives a threat to a valued relationship from a third party. The threat may be real or perceived. It is not limited to romantic relationships but also can arise among siblings competing for parental attention or in friendships. Jealousy is distinguished from envy in that jealousy always involves a third party seen as a rival for affection. Envy occurs between two people and is best summed up as "I want what you have." Although jealousy is a painful emotional experience, evolutionary psychologists regard it not as an emotion to be suppressed but as one to heed—it is a signal, a wake-up call, that a valued relationship is in danger and steps need to be taken to regain the affection of one's mate or friend. In this regard, jealousy is a necessary emotion because it preserves social bonds. It motivates people to engage in behaviors that maintain an important relationship.

Homecomings are a time when school faculty, students, and alumni get together to show their school pride. College’s homecoming can be rewarding and memorable and with its light, no-pressure environment networking with alumni can prove to be advantageous to a student's future.
Homecoming at HBCUs is absolutely epic and even more special. HBCUs compete to outdo each other with celebrity appearances, fashion shows, amazing concerts, step shows, and so much more.
Homecoming weekend is a special time for alumni, however, it can be difficult to navigate when your (adult) child is attending your alma mater. How do you make it fun for everyone with embarrassing your student or yourself? Listen in as we discuss a few do's and don'ts as well as the many benefits of attending your homecoming.

That would NEVER happen to me! Then it does. In the beginning, it is mostly amazing, if it is not amazing it is just positive. What am I talking about? Mental and physical domestic abuse. Weeks, months, sometimes years go by and the relationship seems normal. However, you did see a sign here and there but ignored it. If no sign was present he or she did not feel threatened so their representative stayed complacent UNTIL you became a threat or they felt threatened. You are now a mirrored image of their insecurity and their fear. Their representative wants to vacate, it is exhausting keeping their true self at bay especially after having sex. Some humans have an addictive personality. Some do not even love or like the other person, but they do not want to be alone or start over. Some people only want the "idea" of you and not actually you. Some are so good they can keep up pretenses until you marry them, get pregnant, have their child, get life insurance etc. Then, you realize YOU were "Sleeping With The Enemy". For some, they were able to get out alive, for other's they did not, they were tainted, scarred and murdered. Is it immaturity? is it pain? is it an evil spirit within? is it childhood scars? We are going to find out on Love Is Power, the topic," Sleeping With The Enemy".

Empty nest syndrome refers to feelings of depression, sadness, and, or grief experienced by parents and caregivers after children come of age and leave their childhood homes. This may occur when children go off to college or get married.
Empty nest syndrome is not a clinical diagnosis, but rather describes a transition period in which many people experience feelings of loneliness or loss.
If you are experiencing empty nest syndrome, are feeling distressed because you worry your life has lost meaning, or if you are crying excessively and are so sad that you don't want to see friends or go to work, you should consider seeking professional help.
On this Podcast, my special guest, Audris Dickerson, is a Certified Life Coach and is certified in supervision and leadership will give us some tips on dealing with Empty Nest Syndrome as she too has experienced it when her own kids left the nest.
Today at 8 pm on Love Is power we are going to discuss the topic, Law of Attraction. The Law of attraction is the ability to attract into our lives whatever we are focusing on. It is believed that regardless of age, nationality or religious belief, we are all susceptible to the laws which govern the Universe – one of which is the Law of Attraction. It is the Law of Attraction which uses the power of the mind to translate whatever is in our thoughts and materialize them into reality. In basic terms, all thoughts turn into things eventually. If you focus on negative doom and gloom you will remain under that cloud. If you focus on positive thoughts and have goals that you aim to achieve you will find a way to achieve them with massive action. I have been able to witness this in my life first hand in many areas, time and time again. It is my honor to share with you what I know and have witnessed. Together we can take it to another level.

My love goes out to the people in Puerto Rico and other places as well, that are going through and will go through this hurricane. May everyone come out alive and well. Things can always be replaced. This storm has literally devastated varies areas already and there is another 2 storm coming. My prayer goes out to ALL places being affected. This is where your faith comes in, faith and positivityis needed in bad situations. If you are going to pray do not worry, if you are going to worry do not pray.
Let Us Pray
Divine Creator,
Eternal and Omnipotent,
Creator and Lord of the Universe,
you have set the earth on its foundation
and all elements of nature obey your command. You give food to all flesh,
cover the heavens with clouds,
and provide rain to the earth -
We humbly beseech you
Lord, Most High,
to keep us safe from all dangers
and to calm all the storms of life that threaten us:
especially the attack of whirlwinds and tornadoes,
the calamity and destruction of hurricanes,
the din and damage of hail storms,
the striking of thunderbolts and lightning,
and the devastation of floods and tidal waves.
May we be secure in your loving protection,
seek your Will in all our experiences,
and serve you always with grateful hearts.
We ask this through our Lord, Jesus Christ, Your Son, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, for ever and ever.
Amen.
ENCORE PRESENTATION WITH GUEST JONATHAN HARRIS
In the age of Smartphones and eReaders, does reading from digital devices interfere with the intuitive navigation of text and inhibit students from concentrating fully? Does reading from the computer or tablet make it easier for some students to become more easily distracted and to multitask? For many educators, these habits raise concern about the implications for academic learning and retention.
On this Podcast, Jonathon and I discussed all of this and more on Social Media Sunday with the Delaware Blogger.
WARNING: This may be my most controversial show up to date. Many will not be brave enough to listen, for those of you that do, you are on your way to healing yourself and being forgiven. Sometimes it is not always about you, save someone else. Many of us in life go through things that we did not see coming and when it comes we become emotional and scared especially without the proper love, guidance, knowledge, wisdom, and understanding. Today’s show I hope that we can help someone out there who is pregnant. Who may be scared and does not have someone to confide in. This could be you, your daughter, your niece, your aunt or friend etc. Also, I want to heal the people that were pregnant and made a choice in the past to have an abortion. Easing their mind and spirit of living with that choice. Also, this is for the men because even though some of you do not show it, it affects you as well. In more ways than one. I will humbly be your voice. I will give you tools in forgiving yourself and others. WARNING, it will be a bumpy roller coaster ride of emotions. I ask for forgiveness in advance. I have to go in, in order to do the healing process started within. It may get worse before it gets better, so please be brave. You may learn things you never knew. This show topic called, What About Your Seed? This topic is to help you get to a peaceful place, so you can forgive yourself and other’s and live a graceful and fulfilling life. Choose to feel better, not worse, choose to heal, not digress again, it is your choice. HAVE SOME TISSUES HANDY SOME OF YOU MAY NEED IT.

On this Podcast, my special guest Nicolle Surratte and I are going to discuss the role of the caregivers of cancer patients. Caregiving can be both rewarding and challenging and most importantly, caregivers should remember to take care of themselves while providing care for the person with cancer.
There are many ways to be a caregiver. For some, it may mean providing 24-hour care. For others, it may mean researching medical information or arranging for help. Each situation is different, and no one scenario applies to all people with cancer and their families.
Thanks to innovations in Medicaid and the Department of Veterans Affairs, older adults and people with disabilities are designing their own in-home care programs and hiring family members (and, in rare cases, spouses). There's still a long way to go, though. For more information, check the AARP.org website.
Reason, Season or Lifetime...
Oftentimes, relationships come in for a Reason…. to learn something new, to open a doorway, to gain insight, to direct you to another part of your path or purpose. They are there simply for a reason… and once that reason is served, they disappear, fall away, or feel out of alignment… sometimes for no apparent reason.
Other times, relationships come in for a Season…. to bring you a new awareness, new love, new life and new lessons. These season relationships are usually a bit longer, and with that are often harder to let go of or release, unless of course, you recognize they are here just for a season. Once the season is over, it is time to go, to move on. No wrongdoing, again, the season is simply over.. and when one season is over, a new season always follows.
Yet, others are for a Lifetime. Lifetime relationships last a lifetime. The interesting things about lifetime relationships I think is that often we assume those are family relationships, and they can be, but they aren’t always. Family relationships are for a lifetime when you have chosen to experience them for a lifetime. However, you may have to release some of your family relationships, as you became aware that they were truly only for a reason or a season. Just because they are blood, does not mean they are all lifetime relationships. That is important to remember. Sometimes family members purpose is more for a reason than it is for a lifetime.

Blogging was once considered a side hustle or a hobby but it has since turned into a business, one that is becoming profitable as well. These days most people find themselves with a side hustle or a side gig whether it's for the additional income to make ends meet, or to save for something big or simply because it’s enjoyable.

The spirit of GOD's love lives in us all or does it? I heard many are called but few are chosen. For now, let us only focus on the ones who have the spirit of their creator in them but the light and love within is dimmed by life’s trial, tribulations, hurt, fear and confusion. How is it that GOD is love and love heals yet some humans are afraid to let love in? Is it because they have been hurt and do not want to be hurt again? So, in turn, they will quicker hurt you before you hurt them. Also, there are those who have never been hurt but they do not trust you so they are guarded, yet they still eat, pray, laugh, sex and reside with you. They even go as far as to have a child or children with you. The hardest thing to do is love yourself, but why? What if you saw things through GOD’s eyes? Do you think it will help you go through life better and more peaceful? Well, we are going to find out tonight at 8 pm on Love Is Power. Let us embark on this journey together. Change your perception, you can change your world, in time, patience is needed. Thank you for your time.

If you are an entrepreneur thinking about starting a new business, you're not alone because there are more than 640,000 new businesses being launched in the U.S. each year. Small businesses are the backbone of today’s economy and they need to brand themselves to stand out from the crowd.
The harsh reality is that half of all new businesses last less than five years, which is why it's smart to fully think through how you plan to succeed in advance rather than winging it after launching the business. What products and services do you need in order to be successful?
My guest, Travis Rothstein, CEO of ConnecTheDot will share his expertise and offer suggestions on the questions that every entrepreneur should be asking themselves before they launch as well as the best ways to brand the business from the beginning.
Here on LOVE IS POWER, the topic is "I AM LIGHT". Go ahead say it I AM LIGHT.
I really want you to know that you are and you have light within. I will tell you how to tap into your light energy more. The enemy is real and the worst enemy is YOU because the enemy attaches himself to you and around you in many ways.
I need you to know and understand that we all have light and darkness in us. However, there are many humans that are out there in the world that have full fledge darkness within them and they cover it up very well. So Vanessa how do we protect ourselves? We protect ourselves in first recognizing the enemy.
Just as GOD is in you, the enemy has access to you as well, then there is you,"THE CHOICE MAKER", you decide who or what you want to listen to more. You have a best friend and an enemy dwelling inside of you and whatever you give more spiritual food too, is going to win.
We must realize the enemy is subtle.

Soon students from all over the country will be heading back to school and for many high school graduates, it will mean leaving home for the first time to begin their first year in college. That transition for most will be filled with anxiety and angst and parents will be praying each and every day for their safety.
However, along with packing and praying, we need to educate them on the sexual assault statistics that is prevalent on many college campuses. We need to arm them with information on what is consent and consensual sex as well as where they can go to get more information to learn about the warning signs of sexual predators.

We are spending so much time touching, pushing, linking, scrolling and jumping through text that when we do sit down with a paper book or magazine our daily habits of jumping, clicking and linking are already ingrained within us.
e-readers, smartphones, and tablets interfere with intuitive navigation of text and inhibit people from concentrating fully making it easier for students to become easily distracted and to multitask. For many educators, these habits raise concern about the implications for academic learning and retention.

Death is a debt that we all have to pay and when you don't leave a will or a "Legal Legacy" then your loved ones are left to decide how to disperse your estate. This task is can be complicated and messy - remember James Brown?
It does not matter how small your property is or how little assets you have, whether you're single or married, whether or not you have children or even pets, it's important to have a will that designates what happens to your property after your death.
Identity theft, on the other hand, can be avoided, however, it can become a fate worse than death...the death of your credit and good financial rating.
My special guest Chenitta Crawford, an Independent Associate with LegalShield will help us identify the steps that we should be taking to ensure that our family and finances are taken care of now and far into the future.

The amount of influence social media has on our youth is far greater than we know. Many other aspects of their lives have been damaged, such as their education, their self-worth, and self-love.
Before social media, it was the responsibility of our parents/grandparents and guardians to reinforce the best within us - my grandmother would always say, "beauty is only skin deep”. Times have changed and we have evolved from comparing images seen on tv and in the movies to what is seen on social media platforms.
Getting LIKES and FOMO anxiety from social media platforms such as Instagram and Snapchat can get competitive, with users often begging for them in virtual "beauty pageants".
This evening I will talk to Chardiney Wood, Ms. Delaware USA Ambassador 2017 on the importance of self-love in the age of social media.

Mental stress caused by our job, family, friends, finances or faith can oftentimes cause anxiety which can be released in negative ways. Fear of the future or trying to push back the past can be overwhelming.
If you have been looking for a low-cost nonmedicinal way in which to improve your outlook on life or release some of this stress blogging might just be the answer. Sometimes writing out your feelings, both positive and negative, can contribute a great deal to your mental health.
Blogging is good for your mental health as it offers opportunities to people affected by mental health to take their thoughts to a wider audience. Think about it, we all have mental health and one in four of us will experience a mental health problem sometime in our lives, so if you are feeling down, anxious or not in control, sharing your feelings can help relieve stress by letting go of emotions which may have been bottled up for a long time, sometimes as far back as childhood.

Have you ever been in a tense or difficult situation when you suddenly burst into a fit of giggles? Or feel a release or rejuvenated after watching a side-splittingly funny movie? It turns out there’s some scientific veracity behind the old adage “laughter is the best medicine.” When you’re feeling down finding friends to laugh with can help your brain trigger its own laughter response and foster closeness, both of which contribute to your sense of well-being.

REPLAY Social Media has both positive and negative affects to teen's and tween's self-esteem and health and it is up to our future generations to not let it take over. Social Media deprives teenagers of who they really are, but it is also up to teenagers to change their beliefs and what they are defined by.
Think about it, before social media took over the way we connect with one another, there was radio, books, magazines, television and movies and low self esteem was also a concern then when young kids didn’t see anyone who looked like themselves.
My special guest, Linda Kiedi, creator of Kiesse, LLC will talk about the incident that occurred before her daughter's fourth birthday and the inability to find diverse party supplies.

Topic: Perception & Law of Attraction
law of attraction—a “universal,” perfect law that dictates, “like ALWAYS attracts like.” In other words, positive ALWAYS attracts positive and negative ALWAYS attracts negative.
Perception - a result of PERCEIVING or OBESERVATION.
Most people attempt to fulfill their goals, using the LAW OF ATTRACTION, are UNSUCCESSFUL. UNIVERSAL LAW OF ATTRACTION, but no longer works without your help. Now instead of merely thinking about getting your goal, you are to visualize having already attained your goal. Bring the perfect future to the present. Live and feel as if your goal has been accomplished. It is only through the practice of this type of visualization, that you will be able to set your thoughts, feelings, words, emotions, and actions in alignment with your goals. LIVING as though your GOALS have been realized will removed all self doubt NEGATIVITY that will help GOAL be realized.
How does a Principle of Attraction differ from a law of attraction? The principle of attraction states that “Like Tends to Attract Like.” POWER OF POSITIVE THINKINGPOSITIVE PEOPLE SURROUND THEMSELVES WITH LIKE ATTRACTION (POSITIVE PEOPLE)
Blogs have become an integral part of the online culture. Practically everyone reads blogs whether they’re "real news" news blogs, topic-based blogs related to a niche or hobby, or blogs simply written for entertainment, practically everybody you know has at least one favorite blog.
Bloggers or Influencers pour their hearts and souls into creating content that keeps their readers engaged and coming back for more. Blogging wasn’t always as popular as it is now, and it seems as though everyone wants to be a blogger which is why I have added Blogging Consulting to the menu of offerings to ABlakeEnterprises.
However, sometimes bloggers can experience "burnout" and find themselves staring at a blank computer screen not knowing what to post or even wanting to write a post, so what can we do to avoid this.

According to statistics the Millennial generation is reaching a tipping point of 84.6 million which makes them the largest living generation. With $1.4 trillion in spending power, they’re just entering their prime consumption years and because of this power, they are on every major brands’ radar.
However, because they are not consuming information in the same way as boomers and seniors with non stop commercials on television they aren't being bombarded with advertisements for medications, drugs and treatments for every ailment.
Millennials get their health information from a variety of websites and sources which includes general health sites, social media, magazine websites, fitness sites, and holistic wellness websites.
Marketers from health and wellness to vitamin supplements, have an opportunity to appeal to the Millennial consumer by crafting marketing messages that appeal to their core values of good health, family, and physical fitness.

Over the past three decades, childhood obesity rates in America have tripled, and today, nearly one in three children in America are overweight or obese. The numbers are even higher in African American and Hispanic communities, where nearly 40% of the children are overweight or obese. If we don't solve this problem, one third of all children born in 2000 or later will suffer from diabetes at some point in their lives.
With the new administration’s budget proposal for 2018, ~aka~ the "skinny budget", schools are afraid that some of the cuts will include funding to programs that provided free breakfast and lunch to kids. Oftentimes, these meals are the only nutritious ones that they receive on a daily basis. Now more than ever, we have to work together as a family sharing knowledge and expertise and not look to the government to keep us healthy and safe because that is not going to be the case at least not for the next 4 years.

Let me ask you a few questions? Do you have piles of magazines on your coffee table? Do hardback books line your bookshelves and softcopy books have a special spot on your night stand? Do you like the feel of paper between your fingers as you turn the pages, perhaps dog earring or tearing them out to read later? Does some of those pages have highlighted text made with a pink or yellow marker?
Or do you prefer to read your magazine articles on an eReader or from a Smartphone or other mobile device like an iPad or Tablet. Are there downloaded novels and self help books waiting to be read? Or perhaps you are like me and enjoy doing all three; reading on hard and softcopy books, reading self help books from a smartphone as well as from another mobile device - my iPad or Tablet.

According toNAWBO, National Association of Women Business Owners there are more than 9.4 million firms that are owned by women, employing nearly 7.9 million people, and generating $1.5 trillion in sales as of 2015. However, only 8.1 percent of top earners and 14.6 percent of executive officers in corporate America are women.
With social media we now have the power to build our own public platforms, and for women, this new reality provides an opportunity to completely bypass traditional power structures. The number of people connected on Facebook is roughly equal to China’s population and being online, women business owners have the power to reach more individuals, build stronger communities and have a greater impact than ever before.
This evening we will be discussing the power of webinars for women in business and how they can be used as a tool for branding and marketing products and services. My special guest is Valerie Brown-Baul, Founder & Chair of Spiritual Path Alliance.

New Year - New You - Getting lean and mean in the Spring.
Getting regular physical activity is vital for healthy aging. It can help delay, prevent, or manage many costly chronic diseases faced by adults 50 years or older. Physical activity can also reduce the risk of premature death.
Gym memberships can be expensive, and when you add personal training costs on top of that, it soon adds up, which is why virtual training is becoming very popular. A virtual personal trainer is a fully qualified personal trainer who can prepare a workout program for you based on what you want to achieve, whether it be weight loss, strength or just getting in better shape.
If you're desperate to start an exercise regime and simply can't even afford a virtual personal trainer, then there's an app for that in the world of digital personal training. All you need is a smartphone or iPod and to find an app that allows you to track your progress, counts calories and suggests exercises based on your goals. There are hundreds of apps you can download for free, from aerobic moves to yoga.
Special guests are Kirsten and Clarence Womack, owners of Move with Mack Fitness.

I know most of you remember or perhaps are still doing it - spending hours sitting at the kitchen table with coupon circulars, scissors, a notebook and perhaps a binder to keep them all in.
Sunday newspapers are filled with store coupons and when stacked with manufacturer's coupons you can save a few dollars or cents but the time spent clipping and cutting...is it really worth it? I know the extreme couponers will say, "yes”, but I don't have the time, the desire nor the storage space to stock up on dozens of items just to save a few dollars.
In fact, these days you’ll notice that many small businesses you interact with everyday have their own dedicated mobile app whether it’s the corner coffee shop or the beauty spa downtown. These companies are ahead of the game when it comes to taking their marketing to the next level.
Most stores now have downloadable apps which can provide additional savings to their loyal customers so instead of spending hours clipping coupons, just open your Smartphone and Get it on Google Play or Download from the App Store because "there's an app for that!"
My guest this evening, Webmaster Ray will tell us why having a mobile app for your business will keep your customers loyal and you in their face and space 24/7/365.

Social Media has both positive and negative affects to teen's and tween's self-esteem and health and it is up to our future generations to not let it take over.
