Contemplative prayer meant to bring you to the heart of God in His presence. Less about words & requests & more about being still & knowing He is God. Find an anchoring sacred word or phrase like Jesus, Good Shepherd, Father, Friend, be still, or whatever God puts on your heart. Set aside time, I distracted, & continue to come back to your word or phrase when your mind drifts. Here, we will do 5 minutes together. You may find that 5 minutes seems like a very long time, or you may find it is not enough. Either way, try to make it a practice. Commit to it, 5 minutes for 5 days. Contemplation is waking up to the presence of God in all things. Learning to practice the presence of God, being patient with your yourself & your life, & moving from your head to your heart. Finding rest to contemplate. In rest, we find our identity, in work we express our identity. We will move through a release & receive contemplation practice.

A different way to connect with the heart of God. The book of revelation is a very visually descriptive book. We will take a journey together drawing through Revelation chapter 1. You don’t have to be an artist. Just draw what you hear described. The images may surprise you. Grab a paper, a pencil or pen & your imagination & see what John saw.
The meaning of lectio divina is “holy reading” in Latin. Traditionally, Lectio Divina has four separate steps: read; meditate; pray; contemplate. First a passage of scripture is read, then its meaning is reflected upon. It’s a very slow way to go through scripture. The focus of Lectio Divina is not a theological analysis of biblical passages but viewing them WITH Christ as the key to their meaning. It’s less about you reading the scripture, & more the scriptures reading you, in reflection. In Lectio Divina, the practitioner "enters" and shares the peace of Christ rather than "dissecting" it, for example. May this practice bless you & inspire you to savor slowly God’s Word.
