Scarlett is a 24-year-old fine art dance and wedding photographer based on the scenic south coast of England. Her journey into photography began unexpectedly in 2019 when a former colleague asked her to take headshots for his acting portfolio. With a background in video production and seven years of filmmaking education under her belt, she took on the challenge — and quickly discovered a deep passion for capturing people through the lens. That spontaneous photoshoot, made possible by a free camera found on Facebook, marked the beginning of a transformative creative path.

In 2021, Scarlett photographed her first wedding and hasn’t looked back since. By April 2022, she officially launched her business as a sole trader, leaving behind her day job and graduating from university to pursue photography full time. Her artistic style, rooted in her filmmaking background, combines cinematic storytelling with a refined editorial eye — a blend that’s earned her recognition from prestigious publications such as Vogue and Green Wedding Shoes.

Scarlett’s work has taken her far beyond her seaside hometown, with weddings and editorial shoots leading her to quaint villages in the South of France, cozy whiskey bars by the coast, and most recently, the historic halls of Westminster Abbey.

Shutter Circle’s main core value will always be community over competition. When the team started out there was a lot of gatekeeping in the industry, and they wanted to be that change. There are so many wedding photography/videography workshops out there, but seem to only target established businesses. Shutter Circle wanted to close that gap, to help share their knowledge with beginners trying to get into the industry.

Seasoned wedding photographers - Nik, Luke & Kieran have 25+ years of combined experience under their belts, and want to provide a community of like-minded peers where asking questions is actively encouraged and providing a support network in an otherwise lonely industry.

In August 2023, the Shutter Circle team set up a facebook group that has now grown to over 1500 active members. In that group people feel safe to ask questions, and utilise the free resources and helpful tips that they share.

Shutter Circle quickly identified the pain points within the industry and wanted to help other photographers and videographers connect and share work with each other. Through the use of their new second shooter portal (launching Spring 2024!) users will be able to filter search criteria to find the perfect second shooters for their upcoming weddings, and apply for jobs. The portal will remove the overwhelming process of looking for second shooters on Facebook, and trawling through the comments of people who may not necessarily fit the style or brand that you’re after. Users will be able to make their own profile, list their equipment, price and shooting style. There will also be a review system in place for both parties - meaning seconds can review the main photographer for things like; Did they pay on time? Did they return SD cards?

Stacey Owen—a leading lady of creativity!
Stacey is not only a professional photographer, but she is also a co-founder of a non-profit co-working society and the founder & CEO of Pepper—an award-winning creative agency that provides modern marketing and content strategy to small businesses and entrepreneurs around the world.

How does she do it?! Well, Pepper was created when Stacey was on the brink of burnout as a successful photographer (running Noir Stories and Stacey Krolow Photography) and was unable to find someone to outsource to who was specifically niched in the creative industry—someone who understood the creative mindset and how art is the passion that drives us.

Light bulb! After exhausting all avenues and talking with other friends in the industry, she realized there was huge potential for starting her own company made up of badass marketers for creative-type business owners. While Pepper began as a virtual assistant company that worked with North American creative clients, in less than a year, the company went international and started working with clients around the world. Pepper is now a creative agency that provides services such as custom marketing strategies, SEO, branding, websites, social media management, blogging, newsletters, Pinterest, and more for creative entrepreneurs from many different industries, not just photography!

In 2020, a lot of Pepper’s creative clients—who are largely in the wedding photography and videography industry—took a blow to their businesses due to the pandemic and Pepper wanted to do something to boost them up! This is where Conference + Chill: The Virtual Photo Gathering was born. It was one of the first of its kind! C+C was a live, virtual conference that began with a 4-day, virtual event in July of 2020 and ran for two years, providing positive energy and epic education that was accessible to everyone!

Since then, Pepper has developed educational marketing courses through Pepper U. This do-it-yourself option for business owners allows entrepreneurs to learn at their own pace and acquire marketing tactics relevant to their businesses. But they didn't stop there! Pepper has also created individual courses tailored to address some of the most common questions we've received. These courses encompass education on Google Business Profile and Google Analytics. Pretty amazing, isn't it?

Stacey is a passionate business owner and an entrepreneurial-minded go-getter! She is fuelled by the creative and brilliant brains that surround her, turning ideas into reality, and having meaningful conversations with cool individuals doing cool sh*t!

Eric is all about doing things differently. Not interested in norms and passing trends, he prides himself on paving his own way, creating dramatic, emotive stories passionately crafted for his beloved wedding couples. In Eric’s mind, great art is timeless and that is something he strives for. He believes that to truly create stunning work you need to be just as much a technician as you are an artist so that you have the photographic vocabulary to skilfully and artfully document a wedding day in whatever circumstances get thrown at you.

Eric also puts great importance on the uniqueness of each story he captures; not simply applying his same style and approach to each wedding, but rather genuinely investing himself in the couple and their story in what results as it’s own unique creation. It’s no wonder Eric has been highly awarded for his wedding albums as he not only puts great importance on a single image, but by taking inspiration from his background in cinematography he applies a wholistic narrative-based approach throughout his process. Each image represents an important building block used to craft his stories. Eric’s passion and unique ethos has served him well having worked with couples in some of the world's most incredible locations including Kenya, Sri Lanka, Jordan, Cyprus, Montenegro, India, the Philippines and Egypt.

As a multidisciplinary visual creator, Andy has a keen focus on film and an insatiable obsession with storytelling. He started out shooting weddings, where he learnt the mystic and lesser-studied art of making people feel comfortable in front of a camera; from there Andy branched out into commercial work before founding his own production company, fēlan films.

Collaboration is the lifeblood of the moving image and a large part of why Andy adores what he does. His team learnt so much through creating content for top-tier clients that they felt downright professorial and accepted their humble duty to share the fēlan genius with the masses. Corduroy jackets and mismatched elbow patches donned, they created Moments in a Minute – a complete guide to creating meaningful, impactful content that grabs people by the eyeballs for sixty seconds and refuses to let go.

With their powers combined Grace & Andrew become GRANDREW - your classic codependent relationship. One does not function without the other and their unique skill set. You see Andrew does all the filming and Grace does all the editing. Andrew attends the wedding and samples your cake, Grace waits at home for Andrew to feed her the cake. Andrew suits up every weekend and Grace puts on her sweat pants and creeps through your footage - you getting a general vibe here?

Grandrew met in film school in 2011 and naturally Andrew spent a good two years trying to get Grace to go steady. She finally caved despite her plan to stay single and ready to mingle until 30 (sorry mum) and here we are. Two halves to a whole, individually they have mastered their craft and together they have created an International Award Winning Wedding Cinematography Studio named after the great Aussie native 'Bottlebrush' which surrounded them both growing up.
