This episodes contains matches reviewed from the past 2 weeks where we saw Chelsea and Spurs drop their guard and being replaced from the top and Liverpool benefitting from it and taking the lead at the top plus Manchester United gaining some good ground in the title race after putting in a string of results, with that being said the United fans suggested that they’d like to take it one game at a time when questioned about possible title charge against Liverpool, with a sight at what’s in store for the upcoming week with the fixture congestion, Christmas holidays and the increasing impact of Covid, there’s a lot that’s discussed about what teams should do to be at the top and of course a whole discussion about Arsenal and Arteta. The Premier League continues to deliver and shows no signs of stopping.
With teams struggling to keep up their early season promise and form, we are getting a clear view of the contenders and the pretenders. With Surging Spurs fueled by the Brilliance of the Son-Kane combination and Mou’s mentality to get a win alongside a stable and a highly functional Chelsea mentored by Lampard, this season Liverpool will be challenged more by two new teams alongwith the usual suspects, Manchester City. Arsenal’s problems under Arteta continues as rival fans start to sympathize with Arsenal seeing them go through such a phase. With Champions league qualification at stake and Manchester derby in the same week, it’s a big and potentially a season defining week for Manchester United as well. We discuss the possible ins and outs from the Champions League and predict the outcomes before the final game of the group stage. A special Messi-Ronaldo re-union match is also on the cards as we hope to see the two legends on the pitch competing after almost 2 years.
In a week where Southampton were top for a day despite losing their talisman Ings, we saw Manchester United back to winning ways against a struggling Everton who seem to be in bad run of 3 consecutive losses now, Liverpool and City shared the spoils with the KDB missing a penalty and lucky liverpool managing to take a point of that game, Leeds again being unlucky with VAR again being ridiculous in their decision making, Chelsea getting mesmerised to see Ziyech in full swing and potentially setting a marker for the rest of the Premier League, Leicester benefiting from another dubious penalty call by the VAR against Wolves, Kane rescuing Spurs to give them all the 3 points late on, Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal schooled by Aston Villa with Grealish, Barkley and Watkins running the show and comprehensively beating them & Lookman’s stupidity costing Fulham in one of the worst penalties ever taken.
From Wolves tightening their defence to last season’s levels to Liverpool getting lucky against the Hammers, Chelsea getting their act together and performing well to City grinding out a result against Sheffield, Aston Villa losing against a Spirited Southampton to Everton losing to Newcastle without their star man James Rodriguez, United’s intensity and lack of approach issues against Arsenal to Leeds crazy hight intensity approach all the time, we have it all covered in this podcast.
With Aston Villa and Everton’s unbeaten run coming to an end on the same match day, the Premier league showed signs of sobering up after the initial week of madness and unpredicitability. With Leeds Juggernaut dismantling Aston Villa’s perfect run to Southampton putting a dent on Everton’s ambitions, United and Chelsea approaching the game with safety, fear & doubts playing out a dull, unimaginative and a boring game, City sharing the spoils against the Hammers, Arsenal’s lack of goals hurt them once again with a solitary Jamie Vardy goal which inspired Leicester to a victory, Spurs putting on a spirited display to take all the 3 points from Turf Moor with another perfect Kane-Son combination play, this week showed us that the teams are starting to show cracks and it will be interesting to see which teams fills it perfectly and are able to adapt to it. With the Champions League fixtures coming mid-week, it will be a test of the squad depth of the top teams when they return to action in the Premier League.
