Dr. Raymond Bell
Raymond C. Bell serves as the Founding and Organizing Senior Pastor of Spirit of Love and Deliverance (SOLAD) Baptist Church in Temple Hills, MD since January 8, 2012.
Dr. Bell was educated at the Bingman Elementary & Pipkin Elementary Schools, Bowie Middle School; and French High School all of Beaumont, TX. He further received a Associate of Applied Science Degree in Substance Abuse Counseling and a Bachelor of Science Degree in Sociology both from Lamar University in Beaumont, Texas; a Master of Divinity Degree from Virginia Union University Proctor School of Theology (graduating magnum cum laude) and a Masters of Arts in Christian Education Degree from the Union Presbyterian Seminary both in Richmond, Virginia. He also has an earned PhD in Biblical Preaching at the Newburgh Theological Seminary in Newburgh, Indiana. His dissertation was on "'Preaching in Context' Toward Effective Sermon Preparation".
Jesus taught his disciples to pray "Lead us not into temptation." Of course, when Jesus said, "Lead us not into temptation" he meant pray that you don't GET TEMTED BY THE TEMPTER. But we face the same basic temptation ourselves. It is the temptation to satisfy our hungers and appetites with cheap substitutes. The Devil always offers a cheap substitute in its place. Sometimes we place ourselves in situations where we are tempted and sometimes temptations seek us out. What do we do when tempted by the Devil?
On the Mount of Transfiguration Peter said "It is good for us to be here". He misunderstood, but he was so right!
The Corinthian church made a lot of mistakes that we can learn from. In 1 Corinthians 1, Paul calls the church to Holiness, Harmony, and Humility!
We are honored to be here for this day of celebration with the SOLAD Baptist Church. This is our 8th Church Anniversary. And it has been a great work. We have prevailed Against All Odds. Some said we not make it. Some gave a very little chance of success. But we made it.
Fear can destroy us. It makes us weak and undermines our faith. One of the most repeated commands in Scripture is "Do Not Fear." But how do I do that?

We need to stop just getting by, and start experiencing God’s possibilities! We need to move from fatalism to faith. How do we do this? We live in FAITH!
