Connecticut has a number of traffic laws that are designed to keep roads and highway safe for all users. Some of the key traffic laws include speed limits. The maximum speed limit on most roads in Connecticut is 65 miles per hour. Although there are lower speed limits in certain areas, such as school zones and residential areas.

Seatbelts: The law requires that while a vehicle is in motion, the driver and the passengers wear seatbelts.

Cell phones: It is illegal to use a handheld phone while driving in Connecticut. Drivers are allowed to use hands free devices, but they can't text while driving.

Right of Way: drivers are required to yield the right of way to pedestrians at intersections and crosswalks.

Passing: drivers are only allowed to pass other vehicles on the left unless the vehicle in front of them is making a left turn.

Turning: Drivers are required to signal their intentions when turning either by using their turn signals or hand signals. When the last time you saw somebody using enhancing stopping drivers are required to stop at all stop signs and brake lights. No rolling stock here

DUI, it's illegal to operate your vehicle while under the influence of drugs or alcohol in the state has a per se law which means that it is illegal to drive with a blood alcohol concentration of point 08 or higher

Child safety laws that require children to be in person or booster seats based on their age, weight and height for proper restricting.

Violations of these and other traffic laws can result in fines points on driver's license and jail time.
