Some years ago, I sat down with a longtime friend and told her I was romantically interested in her. I was physically attracted to her, liked her ambition, and valued her more than the other women in my life.
She never spoke to me again.
I originally wrote the piece, "Being a Man is Worth Losing a Friend," here.
I take the position that losing a friendship WAS worth me taking the risk and telling her how I felt about her. But did I make a mistake?
In this episode I talk with Christina, my current girlfriend (NOT the woman referenced) about what Christina thought when she first read the article. We talk about taking initiative and being honest with someone we're romantically interested in.
Whether you're a man or a woman, have you ever found yourself in a situation where you'd like something more from a friendship? Would you like to turn it into a relationship but nervous on how it will play out? Or has a friend shared their sentiment with you, leaving you unsure how to react?
Here Christina and I share our thoughts, from the prospective of each gender, to help you navigate the situation, should this ever come up.

It's likely you'd rarely even heard the word "conservatorship" until it became part of the daily news regarding Britney Spears. As of the date of this episode recording, Britney is under a conservatorship which means potentially all of her financial and medical decisions are made by other people, NOT her.
How is this possible? Why did this happen? And can it be stopped? What would you do if you had little or no control over your money or your health choices?
My guest is Alexandria Goff, also known as ‘Ali,’ the founder of Goff Legal, PC, a law firm based out of Northern California.
Ali is known for her in-depth knowledge and expertise with wills, trusts, durable powers of attorney, and conservatorships.

Will you cut us some slack? And if so, do you know where that phrase comes from? Could you "care less?" Hmm... and is that a good thing or a bad thing?
An episode focused on english and grammar?! We DARE you not to have a laugh and enjoy a good time with my guest today!
Samantha Mazzella is a teacher with her degree in both childhood education and early childhood education. Whether she's surfing in Australia or skydiving above New York, she's always up for an adventure.
She's taught on three continents and joins me to discuss the origins of some well known phrases you use all the time (but probably have no idea where they came from!)
What does it mean to "turn a blind eye?" Did you know there's actually some history there?
It's always a benefit to build our knowledge regardless of how old we are. But as we do get a bit older each year, we gain some wisdom that may help us down the road.
Maybe you're looking to enhance a career or start a new one in teaching? Maybe you'd simply like to have some fun stories to tell at the next party you're going to?
I continue my chat with teacher Samantha Mazzella. We go over some more phrases you've definitely heard of but probably don't know where they came from. I definitely learn a thing or two about phrases I've been saying wrong my whole life.
And what the heck is an EGG-corn?!

Stop buying into the narrative that you need to have it all figured out by age 30. And if you're older than 30 and unhappy where you are in life, stop believing it's "too late" to make major changes or improvements.
Here you'll learn how to make changes in your life, finances, career, or relationships you thought were no longer possible once you passed age 30. You CAN. It's not too late. Rebrand yourself and find that spark to get you going.
I'm Steve Bierfeldt and on this podcast I'll admit what few people will; there's a lot I don't understand. At age 30 I left a 10 year career and chose to "start over." Seven years later after a few new business attempts and a couple bad business partners, I lost everything and was forced to “start over” from scratch at age 37.
And at 37 I decided, "I can do this. I can do great things."And YOU can do great things.I decided to pick myself up, make the changes I needed, and rebrand myself. And that's what I'm going to help you do as well.
Along the way I've been a featured author, interview or subject in more than 100 news outlets, including the New York Times, CNN, Focus on the Family, The Huffington Post, The Wall Street Journal and Fox Business.
Whatever your desires, goals, or wishes, you can rebrand yourself, make a change, and start a new path to a better quality of life. Here on the podcast you'll hear a mix of my personal stories as well as engaging guests joining me to provide vivid illustrations on how they rebranded themselves and "fixed" something in their lives, even after they were 30, 40, 50, or older.
I'm excited to chat with them and bring their stories to life.Above all else, be kind. have fun, challenge yourself and remember you have value as a person.

Dr. Donn Shaver is the founder of Iron City Physical Therapy in Poughkeepsie, New York. I first found Donn when he responded to a craigslist add about renting an office in a gym I owned. Donn was looking to branch out on his own and two+ years later, he's crushing it!
Is physical therapy only for people who are rehabing from injury, surgery, or major slips and falls? No way! Dr. Donn and I talk about common misconceptions, what it means to be an, "athlete" and mistakes the "assembly line" physical therapy clinics make that he believes he improves on.
Iron City Physical Therapy lives by a simple code, "We help athletes maximize their performance and remain healthy without drugs or surgery. We give 1:1 treatments because you deserve our full focus."
Dr. Donn has since expanded to offer personal training, online video training, and more!

Donn tells me his favorite type of people to work with and we jam on what brought him from New York to Hawaii, and back with a once in a lifetime opportunity that led him into starting a new business venture.
Dr. Donn's personal attention and dedication to his clients is quickly gaining notice and recognition in the Hudson Valley of New York State. And he's got a ton of great video and online and virtual content for those outside of the area but still looking to heal their back, neck, and shoulders!

Do you find a lack of engagement with others leaving you feeling depleted? It seems everyone in the world had an opinion during lockdowns and school closures, but how about a student's perspective to gauge things?
My guest Nordelis Vega was my youngest guest to date, a high school student at the time during an earlier iteration of my podcast I called, "The Good Vibes Project."
Her perspective and discussion was so impressive, I believe her thoughts can benefit so many people and everyone should hear them. As we get older I believe the best wisdom we can show is knowing that we can learn from those around us, both older and younger.
In this episode, Nordelis Vegas talks about filling up, "the social battery," and the work she's done to engage young people by founding the Dutchess County Council of Teens in New York state.
We discuss the work she's doing, bringing attention to mental health, especially in schools, and why she started in the Girl Scouts.
And I ask the most controversial question of all: "What is the most overrated girl scout cookie?" Oh boy!

Will Teran is an immensely talented artist in the Hudson Valley and a dedicated member of a gym I owned years ago. He works with a wide variety of mediums, from painting to sculpting to music.
Will was actually the FIRST guest on the original iteration of this podcast I called, "The Good Vibes Project". And since then I've rebranded it to focus on my current goals of encouraging those age 30+ to do the same.
Will makes "raw personal speech" the center of his attention and focuses on developing an artistic language that can be both spontaneous and subconsious. He's worked on the nationally recognized, "Jack's Pumpkin Glow" Halloween experience and he's a pretty sharp guitar player as well.
But according to Will there's one art form he simply can't master... What is it? Listen to find out!
Will and I talk about Teran Studios, his previous endeavor to revitalize Newburgh with an incredible artistic vision, and we hear his band, rock out!
What's the truth behind the mythos surrounding the "starving artist?" How do you best support an artistic talent that needs to keep his or her freedom of expression?
Are you an artist or musician over the age of 30 looking to find that spark? Or have you always wanted to become one and need that jump start? Join guest Will Teran as we discuss these topics and more!
