My Script:
To start this off, let me introduce myself. I am a book reporter and I am going to review this book called “Around the world in 80 days”. This book is quite short, only about 40 pages. It starts off in what looks to be a casino. Also, this book takes place in 1872. There are 5 men talking about a thief that got away with over 50 thousand dollars, and one man says “With all that money, they could vanish to anywhere on the globe” Then another man said “One can travel the world 10 times faster now then a century ago. That will result in the rapid capture of the thief.” Now, the main character, Phineas Fogg, says that you could travel around the globe in as little as 80 days. Then one man offers him a wager, $20,000 if he could travel around the world in 80 days. Fogg accepted and then said “I shall be back on December 21st at exactly 8:45pm. Then he sets off on his journey, departing from England.
He had an assistant to travel with him, his name was Passepartout. On October 9th he was about to board his ship, then a detective saw him and thought he was the thief and was trying to escape England, so he followed Fogg. On October 20th they reached Bombay. On October 21st they arrived in the interior of India. Then they set off on an elephant they got for $2000. On the way they saw a woman who was about to be sacrificed to the Goddess of Death. Then Passepartout put on a white sheet and acted like a ghost, lifting the woman up. Everybody else got scared and the woman was saved. Then on October 25th, they arrived at Calcutta. An officer came up to FOgg and said he was under arrest for stepping in a holy temple with his shoes on, he then paid the fine of $2000 to be set free. On November 3rd, they landed in Hong Kong. The detective started talking to Passepartout until he lost track of time and fell asleep. The group missed their boat and they took another boat. The weather was horrible for a small boat. On November 14th, they landed in Japan where they found Passepartout who took another boat.
The group then went to America, San Francisco. They took a train ride to Utah. Then their train had to stop because there were hundreds of bison blocking the tracks. Then they were attacked, they defended themselves but Passepartout was captured. He found him and they went back. A few days later they arrived in New York, they missed their ship back to England and found another person whose ship was fast but it was going to cost him a lot of money. He agreed to pay it and they set off. They were close to England when they ran out of fuel, Fogg said to burn anything that could burn and that he would pay the costs. They made it to England in time. Then the Detective arrested him because he thought he was the thief. Fogg went to prison but then Aouda (the girl) said that the thief was caught three days before they arrived and showed him the news. Fogg got out and thought he didn’t make it in time. Fogg married Aouda. Then Passepartout told Fogg that it was Saturday and not Sunday and that they gained a whole day by going East and crossing the international date line. He then went to the casino, and won the wager.
Greenglass House is a book about Milo and his family living and working in a hotel . They never got any customers, but surprisingly 1 day they did , but the very first customer wasn't happy about seeing other customers , listen to the podcast to know what happens !
