Throughout life, you will face many different battles. Even though they may manifest in the physical, they are spiritual battles. What you must do in battle is know who or what the opposition is. Understand that the attack will always come when you least expect it. But, you are not called to back down, retreat, or coward... you must engage that opposition by taking a stand on the Word of God. The battle is won by overcoming through prayer and intercession, allowing God to lead you to victory in the end. VICTORY belongs to God, and He is our Banner!

We all have a song...our song is about what God has done in our life. The issue we encounter with our song is that we allow our song to change with our situations. When we receive an answered prayer, we have an attitude of worship! But, when our prayers aren't answered or when our situation doesn't seem to change our song becomes one of complaining and grumbling. In scripture, we see this evident in the life of the Israelite's. When things were going well, they worshiped, when they stopped seeing what God was doing, they complained and whined. Psalm 40:3 says: He put a new song in my mouth... He has given us a new song, let Him be your song. What song have you been singing? Examine your song; it may be time to change the tune. What is your mindset when faced with an opposition; is it one of victory or defeat? Do you crumble at the first sign of an opponent or, do you move forward in victory? In Exodus 14, we see the Israelite's facing their opposition, just the sight of their opponent gave them this very same mindset. Let us dive into the word and find the five keys that help us have a Victorious mindset. To Learn More: https://www.newlifefontana.com/ Social Media: https://www.facebook.com/visitnewlifecc/

Do you know what I dislike? Detours! We all have experienced them, and more often than not, they make us take the "Long Way" to our destinations, but detours are designed to get us to our destination safely. Most of the time the road up ahead is not prepared for use; The same was so for the Israelite's in their Exodus of Egypt, God Knew that they weren't ready to face war or the opposition that lay ahead on the direct road to the Promised Land. In His goodness, God leads us on similar detours for our good to get us back on the right course. At times we drive ourselves on self-ordained detours that lead us down the wrong path and away from God's promises for our lives. The question today is are you on a God-ordained detour or a self-ordained detour. Have you ever made a deal with the devil? When we accept less than God's will and plan for our lives, we have indeed made a deal with the devil. We settle and accept the devil's lies as a compromise instead of God's truth. In Exodus, we see Pharaoh present four different "deals" to Moses and Aaron. They stood firm on the truth of God's word and declined them all. If they had accepted what pharaoh had proposed, the Israelite's would have never seen the Promises of God fulfilled. There is a promised land waiting for all of us, the question is, are you going to settle and accept less than God's truth in your life and make a deal with the devil or will you stand upon God's Word and receive all that He has for your life?

If given a chance, would you accept a counterfeit item? Of course not, no one would! Counterfeit is defined as made in exact imitation of something valuable or important with the intention to DECEIVE or DEFRAUD. That's what Satan wants to do in our lives; his sole purpose is to deceive us. In Exodus, we see the showdown between Moses, Aaron, and Pharaoh. God demonstrates through Aaron and Moses that the counterfeit is worthless, powerless, limited, and will never match up against the real deal. If we don't like counterfeit items in our personal life, why do we accept them in our spiritual life? We must stop studying the counterfeit (lies) and start studying the absolute TRUTH, God! Did you know that true obedience requires more than just telling God yes... or doing something He asks? In Exodus 4 we finally see that Moses stops making excuses and see his submission of true obedience. True obedience requires boldness. We learn through Moses that true obedience must be complete. God was at a point to kill him. Why? Because Moses still had sin in his life, and he wasn't completely honest or obedient with what God required in his life. When Moses accurately shared God's Word, it had an impact on those he shared with. What areas of your life do you need to turn over complete submission to God and be MORE obedient? Don't forget to like NLCC on Facebook https://www.facebook.com/visitnewlifecc/
Have you thought God has mistaken your identity? Have you come up with excuse after excuse why he can't use you? Moses had four excuses for why God had mistaken his identity. The reality was Moses was unwilling to do what God asked. God can use you. However, you must be willing to do his will. God cant use you, not because you're unable, but because you are unwilling. So what's the real excuse? Because he certainly hasn't mistaken your identity!

Did you know God has an answer for every excuse you may have? It's easy to say "here I am Lord," yet harder to do what He asks of us without excuses. We see a real life example of this in the life of Moses. Once he responded with "here I am", the excuses followed. But God had an answer for each of his excuses. The challenge we face is to abandon the excuses, to abandon the "but" or "what ifs" on our behalf, and allow God to move in our life as He wants. What's your response to Him, will you continue to make excuses or will you respond with "here I am" followed by action? Don't forget to like NLCC on Facebook https://www.facebook.com/visitnewlifecc/
Do you believe God speaks? How about speaks to you? The question isn't does God speaks, it should be are we paying attention to Him? For God to reveal Himself to Moses, God first had to get his attention. He captured Moses' attention speaks; it should be are we paying attention to Him? his attention He was then able to reveal Himself and His plan. We are like Moses. There are burning bushes all around you. God is trying to get your attention. He is waiting to reveal Himself to you. He wants to reveal His plans for your life. Don't miss the burning bush interactions because your attention is not on Him. He is speaking...where is your attention? Don't forget to like NLCC on Facebook https://www.facebook.com/visitnewlifecc/
Timing in life is essential! Just a difference of a few seconds can have a significant impact on our life. But even more important in our lives is Gods timing. His timing is perfect, and we must wait for Him! Moses didn't wait for God's perfect timing, and now he will always have the title murderer attached to his name. Unfortunately, we are just like Moses. Exodus 2 gives us some insight into what we must do when we are waiting on Gods perfect timing.

When you think of the great biblical mother figures, Moses mother may not come to mind. Mose did some fantastic things in his life, but it all started because of his AMAZING mama. It was the courage Jochebed displayed and her faith in God that allowed Moses to live. Once she let go of Moses and enabled God to work, she was able to receive her reward. Moses lived in a time where baby boys were killed, but he lived. She not only saw him live; she also was able to teach him about God and was paid to do it! God is waiting to reward us, just like He did with Jochebed. We must first learn to let go to what we're holding on to and allow GOD to work in our lives. One of the final commands Jesus gave before His ascension into Heaven was the Great Commission. Jesus didn't give the Great Commission only to His Disciples; it is for US today! We all are called to be disciples and to make disciples of Christ. We are called to carry this mission to the world around us. The Great Commission is not difficult to accomplish. It starts with believing in the authority of Christ, then obeying His command, and relying on the presence of Christ. If you can fulfill just these things, then you can accomplish the Great Commission. The world around you is waiting....will you believe and do your part of the Great Commission? The earthly ministry of Jesus didn't end at the cross. He continued to minister for 40 days after His resurrection and before His ascension into Heaven.
In John 20, we see the Resurrected Jesus speaking directly to His disciples in the midst of their issues. The disciples were afraid after Christ's death. In the middle of their need, Jesus showed up and said: "peace be with you." When Thomas was doubting, Jesus said, "stop doubting and believe." These same words resonate with us today! In the midst of our fears and our doubts, Jesus shows up in our lives, if we allow Him. He imparts his peace and removes our doubts Don't forget to like NLCC on Facebook https://www.facebook.com/visitnewlifecc/
One of the symbols of Christ Resurrection is the cross. The cross was a symbol of humiliation and was known as the most degrading form of punishment for a criminal. Jesus changed all that! He wasn't a criminal, He is our Savior! The cross is empty because Jesus has RISEN! Today, the empty cross is the foundation of our faith. Through the cross we have victory, reconciliation and redemption. Let's take a listen to what the empty cross represents and how to apply these truths to our lives. Most of the crowd spread their garments on the road ahead of him, and others cut branches from the trees and spread them on the road. Jesus was in the center of it all, and the people all around him were shouting, "Praise God for the Son of David?" The entire city was in an uproar as he entered... Once again, Jesus found himself in front of the same crowd, and the people all around him were shouting, "Crucify him! CRUCIFY him! CRUCIFY HIM!" Unfortunately, we are not much different. We praise God one day and curse him the next. Why? Because we are Fickle people. We possess a casual, self-centered, social, and situational faith... Even though we are like the crowd in the Bible, God gives us the answer to combat this. Let's dive a little deeper and see what his response is. Don't forget to like NLCC on Facebook https://www.facebook.com/visitnewlifecc/
God is waiting to bless you! What is He waiting on?... You! In Luke 5 we see Simon received a record catch (blessing). He received it because Jesus was his only option, he surrendered to Jesus and he acted in faith. How can we activate a record catch in our lives? Let's look at Luke 5 and follow the example Simon sets for us. Don't forget to like NLCC on Facebook https://www.facebook.com/visitnewlifecc/
Are you facing the impossible? Do you want to see the impossible become possible? Jesus made the impossible possible throughout the Bible. In John 6 we see Jesus do the impossible when He fed the 5k with only 5 loaves and 2 fish. The same Jesus who turned this impossibility to a possiblity is the same Jesus we worship today! There are 5 truths we find in John 6 that we must apply to our lives if we want Jesus to make the impossible, possible in our life. Have you ever had the thought, does God hear Me?... Satan would love for you to believe that he doesn't. We find throughout His word that HE does hear us...its a PROMISE! In Jeremiah 33 we see God reveals three reminders. First, we are reminded that through His presence He is always with us. Secondly, through His power, we are reminded of who He is and what He has done...He is ALMIGHTY GOD! Lastly, His promise, if we CALL He will Answer. The question shouldn't do God hear us, it should be are we CALLING Him and LISTENING to Him?

Acts 12:5 states...So Peter was kept in prison, but the church was earnestly praying to God for him. The early church was praying with a passion for Peters release from prison...and he was RELEASED!! From their example, we learn passionate prayer has power; it sets the captives free; it opens doors, provides peace, and produces results. Passionate prayer can do the same in OUR lives! We must learn to pray with passion and with expectancy, just like the early church, knowing God is able! Don't forget to like NLCC on Facebook https://www.facebook.com/visitnewlifecc/
Have you ever thought of how to approach God in prayer? Jesus taught his disciples through parables and stories. In Luke 11, Jesus teaches us through His word, how to approach God in prayer. In prayer, we must approach God boldly, knowing He is able. With patience, knowing His time is perfect. With persistence, continually pressing on in prayer. And lastly by trusting as a child, knowing He is a loving Father who takes care of His children. Let's remember these fundamental principles when you go before the Father in prayer. Don't forget to like NLCC on Facebook https://www.facebook.com/visitnewlifecc/
Jesus disciples saw Him praying and asked Him to teach them to pray. We can sometimes get so caught up in what to say that it can become a distraction and we forget to pray. Jesus taught His disciples to pray through this model prayer, also known as the Lord's prayer. The break down is simple: adoration, thanksgiving, confession, and supplication. The focus of worship shouldn't be about us, BUT HIM. Don't forget to like NLCC on Facebook https://www.facebook.com/visitnewlifecc/
Daniel was always given the most important jobs which made the other workers of the king jealous. Finally, these men said to each other, "We can't find any reason for the king to fire Daniel. The only way we could get him to disobey the king is if we made a law against his god." These men went as a group to Daniel's house and found him praying and asking God for help. So they ran straight to the king and told him, "Your worker Daniel is ignoring your command. We have seen him praying to his God three times today." So at the end of the day, the king gave the order, and they brought Daniel and threw him into the lions' den. The king said to Daniel, "I hope your God who you serve and pray to will rescue you!"
"Lions" can attack our lives on many different levels and take many different forms. Yet, Daniel faced a physical lion. The mouths of the lions were shut through prayer before he even set foot in the den! How was this so? Daniel was defiant, disciplined and dedicated in prayer. What lions are you facing in your life, who's mouths need to be shut? Let's look at how Daniel prayed and apply those same principles in our life. Do you love God? Do you LOVE GOD? DO YOU LOVE GOD? Honestly, do we love him? Mark 12:30 says that ”you must love the LORD your God with all your heart, all your soul, all your mind, and all your strength.” But do we love him in that way? Most of us don't even know what loving him, or anyone in that way also means. So let's take a look at what God has placed on my spirit on how we can Love the Lord With Everything and More.

How do you react when you encounter a fire (problem) in your life? Do you immediately fold and throw up the white flag? Or do you stand firm in the fire, trusting that God will make a way of escape for you? Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego showed what is POSSIBLE when everything (the king) was against them. Fires in life are unavoidable; they ARE going to happen. One thing we must realize is that even though we are in the "fire," so is God's presence and protection. Every fire has its purpose. Let's see Gods presence, security, and use in the lives of Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego and proclaim those principles for application to our lives as well! Do you struggle to stand against the world's standards? Have you experienced testing in your faith? Shadrach Meshach and Abednego faced a test in their faith. They demonstrated courage by standing up against the king, committed to God by their actions and were confident in Gods ability regardless of their outcome. Let us learn from these three young men. When our faith is under fire, we must be courageous, be committed to God and have confidence knowing that as long as "I Am" is in the equation, nothing is too impossible for God! How do you respond to challenges? Some love a challenge, others not so much, while others see a challenge in front of them and say, "NOTHING is too BIG for my God." We all respond to our challenges in different ways. King Nebuchadnezzar, his advisors, and Daniel each handled the same problem they faced differently. Daniel shows us that with God, challenges in life are imaginable. Let's not focus on the impossible in our challenges, but focus on the "I AM" who turns our impossibilities and makes them POSSIBLE. Have you ever stopped to think.... what can cause a 400-year-old Redwood tree to fall? Redwoods are so huge, a single tree itself can be habitat for an incredible number of species. But what if I told you that one of these species, just a single one is what caused this ancient tree to fall? The tiny beetle. One tiny beetle will eat the tree from the inside out compromising the structure making it weak, and eventually making the tree fall. So, what's the big deal with a small compromise? The deal is that in this same manner, what we believe to be one tiny, simple, insignificant compromise can destroy our whole Christian foundation and cause us to fall. Let's take a look at our example Daniel, and how he chose not to compromise in his walk with God. Don't forget to like NLCC on Facebook https://www.facebook.com/visitnewlifecc/
Are you growing in the Lord? For growth to happen, you must first Purge/Remove things from your life. Jesus tells us: He is the vine, God is the gardener, and We are the branches. We must be willing to let the Gardener do as he pleases so we can bear much fruit. Let's take a listen to what Jesus told his disciples. Are you ready for the new year!!! Are you waiting with anticipation, hoping it will bring new things just to find that everything in your life is still the same and nothing has changed? Paul tells us in 1 Corinthians 9 how to run a successful race with discipline and purpose. In order to run a successful race (life), we must be willing to reevaluate, rearrange and renew our life.
Do you find it hard to believe in a promise, because of all the broken promises you have experienced? our reality is not God's Promise, and it doesn't dictate what God can fulfill! God has the ability and is willing through his word to secure his promises, it WILL NOT RETURN VOID! We must not allow the realities of life to dictate the outcome of what God promises for the lord? Give GLORY to God in your unfulfilled Promises.

Do you find beauty in where God has you in life? The Bible gives us beautiful promises. However, there is a process to these promises. To get a rainbow, you have to go through the storm. To get a beautiful vase, you have to start with ugly clay. In each stage of the process, there is beauty. Let's listen in to what God showed Jeremiah regarding the potter and the clay and how to find beauty in the process. Don't forget to like NLCC and Rooted youth ministry on Facebook.
