It's The NewYears! What does that mean? That means it's the start of 2021 and... Old health goals. Yup... It's that time again where we look at ourselves and want to improve our health only to slack off and do it again next year. Who's with me on this?

Honestly, who hasn't been in that position before? We all see the new year as something new. We want to naturally improve ourselves so we make a new year's resolution and we tell the world so others can hold us accountable. Is it wrong? No, not at all. Could we do better? Of course.

Today we cover the topic of Goals and how to make better ones to help you make 2021 a better one!

Eileen and I had a fun conversation around her health and fitness journey. She has been through a lot and is still chasing huge goals. I found her through her IG and loved the type of message she puts out. After this conversation with her, she and I have many similar viewpoints. Check her out and remember to share this with someone who needs to hear this.

In this interview with Mark, we cover a lot of ground. From why he started training, to strongman, and acting.

I loved this interview because he is personable and talks about how he isn't afraid to take risks to get to reach is dreams. I relate a lot to his experiences and how he wants to inspire others.

This interview was recorded back in Feb before the stay-at-home order so a lot has changed for him. I look forward to hearing how parenting is going for him, training, and how he is adjusting to life in quarantine.

I was deeply inspired by hearing Kum's story.

Going into this conversation I knew that Kum was still in school, he was a NASM Certified Person Trainer, worked at the gym, and competed in powerlifting.

I was blown away after hearing his story and his goals. Like REALLY blown away at his fitness journey. You would NOT believe this guy used to be this heavy.

He is a prime example of what it takes to reach your goals.

If you liked what you heard, share, and help spread the word.

The Air Squat is an exercise I use to assess all of my clients NO MATTER where they are in the lifting career. We all start here and work out way up. If there are faults in the air squat, most likely there will be faults in the back squat and other squats. This podcast talks about why I use it, common faults, and some things you can do to improve.

There is value in doing hard things.

When we do hard things,

We stop making excuses We get work done We volunteer to lead We offer to help Doing hard things makes you be a better man.

Hard is also subjective.

It might not be hard for you to work out, but it might be hard for you to read 10 pages a day.

It might not be hard for you to eat clean. But it might be hard for you to have Just 1 Doritos.

When you do hard things, it just becomes things that you have to do.  There is no, When I feel like it When I have time When Covid is over When I'm not tempted to eat out and so on.

We can all do hard things and become better people.

In fact, This is a call to action. Don't wait until you are ready.

I challenge you to take Cold Showers. Get uncomfortable. Go outside of your comfort of taking warm hot showers. and take a cold one. Start with 1 minute. and work your way up to taking full-length showers

I have never heard of anyone saying that they enjoy cold showers. When those who say they enjoy it, what they really mean is they enjoy what they get from it.

It's hard for everyone.

I have been doing cold showers for a week now and I have seen tremendous benefits.

And guess what. I HATE cold showers.

I hate thinking about it. I hate turning the faucet to COLD. I hate the shock my body gets.

But when I'm done with my shower, I feel Strong,

My mind is SHARP I'm Awake and I'm ready to own the day.

The mindset I get from a cold shower helps me focus on what's important and what's not.

I notice when I'm going down the Facebook scroll of death.

And I stop myself from doing so. It's easy for me to do the hard things now so I can reap the benefits later.

Before I started taking cold showers, It would be easy for me to say  "I'll do it tomorrow" Ill text back tomorrow I'll call them tomorrow I'll reply tomorrow. I don't feel good so I'll workout tomorrow.

But once I started taking cold showers, I became someone who says  I'll do it now.

Do it now and don't wait. Do hard things and be better people.

Every morning we wake up and take a big breath in. Equally, we take a breath out. We often overlook this part of our lives most days and leave it for our autonomic system to control. Take a big breath in and use it to fuel your body
