When Chris Joscelyne was rushed to hospital and later diagnosed with a category 4 brain tumour, his initial mindset was gratitude. Gratitude for the hard work he had put into building a successful career and ensuring he had the best possible health cover he could afford. Having been in hospital since May last year, Chris continues to defy the statistics, treating every day with an undeniably positive spirit and absence of fear. He has a refreshing perspective when it comes the current coronavirus pandemic, and has some key advice to help business owners, employees, youth and anyone who may be struggling with self-isolation. While the current situation may feel like the end of the world to many, hearing from an individual in the highest risk category is sure to put things in perspective. In his own words, “I’m just getting on with living the best life that I can, with the cards that have been dealt to me.”

Thomas, Cam and Chris are adamant that Stage 2 won’t work, neither will stage 3, 4 or 5… if it is about more shutdowns. We can not devastate the livelihoods of Australians. We can not let cruise ships dock and airport arrivals get away with murder. They should be in total lockdown before they are released into the population. People are not built for self-isolation. There is so much focus on the health or economical side of this crisis. Yet, people are directed with social issues. Maybe, we need to understand a bit more about social behaviour before we impose new stages onto people. They talk about putting the Australian economy into a coma and reviving it on the other side of the crisis. In reality, they are creating more havoc than the virus itself.

Recent talk on the government shutting us down is a hot topic. Thomas already said in the last podcast that Stage 1 was only the announcement of things to come. What if they took it further? What impact would we feel? Are they really dealing with issues in a proactive manner or are they just reacting against a curve they can’t flatten? To date, we have over 800 people affected in NSW alone. The important part is that about half of those infected are linked to overseas travellers or people coming home from abroad. It was one thing to blame the younger generations for their selfishness and the Bondi Beach “not okay” saga, but in reality, it was just a scratch against the thousands of people they let in through our airport and the live ‘hand grenades’ that walk free form the many cruise-liners. The question is whether it is right to allow mistakes decimate our livelihood and businesses. Through their leisurely approach, Cam, Chris and Thomas simply want to toy with the idea that only common sense can be the ultimate medication.

How do we make decisions that will affect so many people, yet still make no difference in our fight against the virus? Yesterday Australia witnessed a bombshell announcement made by the NSW and VIC premiers which quickly threw the country into a sense of chaos. Stephen and Maren Barnard have experienced a journey like no other, switching 2.5 thousand acres for 700 square metres on Australia’s Sunshine Coast when their farm in Zimbabwe was invaded. After growing their own property development business, the global financial crisis emerged and blew everything up in smoke for the second time. They were left with no choice but for Stephen to work away from home in the mines, leading to serious health impacts. Luckily, their neighbours stepped in and offered them a nutritional cleansing program that has transformed their life.
