Hello girls, guys, non-binary pals! Today we’re talking with self-proclaimed deep thinker, tattoo-loving hoarder, Feminist, wedding photographer Kim Williams.
Kim is a super proud supporter of LGBTQ Equality Weddings bringing diversity and a fresh approach to modern-day weddings...
As well as One Tree Planted - an amazing organization that plants trees all over the world so with every one of Kim's booking she plants 12 trees (because one just ain't enough!) Kim passed 1000 trees planted last year which is pretty damn cool too!
You may already know of Kim Williams from her social post titled “Things men did to me at weddings in 2021” which certainly garnered some popularity and support, probably some offensive comments from knob heads as well and which hopefully stoked many conversations between friends and colleges about misogyny and the danger woman face at weddings ... All of which we’ll get into on this episode.

Welcome to perspective, a podcast for wedding creatives, where we sit down, often with a special guest and talk about our many years of experience in the wedding industry so you can learn from us and to help grow your wedding business.
We’re talking to internationally acclaimed wedding photographer Nick Tucker on today's episode.
This dapper gentleman has gone from being a struggling writer to one of the best wedding photographers in London with his work appearing in such publications as Hitched and Vogue.
And even though Nick's work takes him as far afield as Australia and Hong Kong it seems less about the places and more about the people, quoting Nick’s Instagram bio “I have photographed John Taylor, Roger Taylor, an actual tailor, Little Mix and Puppet William Blake.” I actually had to look up that last one up!
We’re going to talk to Nick about the journey that lead him to his journalistic/ editorial style including how and when he uses flash and soooo much more, so stick around.
This is an episode by withjack and for a limited time TwoTenCo. but ill get on to that a little later in the show, however...

Welcome to PERSPECTIVE, a podcast for wedding creatives where we sit down, often with a special guest and talk about our many years of experience in the wedding industry so that you can learn from us and grow YOUR wedding business.
On today's episode, we're talking to another one of my favourite wedding filmmakers Monika Frias A.K.A, La Txina, (La Che Na)
This Dominican-born, Barcelona-based photographer and videographer can't explain why she's so into walking around wedding parties with a camera around her neck but It's clear Monika is attracted to hearing and retelling people's love stories and instead of using large amounts of audio and lighting equipment, Monika embeds herself and her camera into every party and catches unexpected moments from the inside.
We'll find out the hows and why she creates what she does so If you're a gear head who just wants to find a simpler approach to shooting weddings or if you feel you're not really that great at shooting weddings, fear not. Yes we're going to be diving into this beautiful creatives back story and finding out what makes Monika tick as well as all about shooting and creating an amazing film when you're not the strongest of shooters.
This is an episode by withjack and for a limited time TwoTenCo. Gregg and I's co-working space in Glasgow but ill get on to that a little later in the show, however...

Welcome to PERSPECTIVE, a podcast for wedding creatives where we sit down, often with a special guest and talk about our many years of experience in the wedding industry so that you can learn from us and grow YOUR wedding business.
Today on the perspective podcast we're talking to Maclean Carlson from Hello Tomorrow Films based in British Columbia, Canada. Maclean and his wife Erin who is the other half of Hello Tomorrow film don't consider themselves wedding videographers, they think of themselves as wedding filmmakers with a belief that weddings are more than just an event or moment in time. Its a story about two people. Who they are, how they got there, and where they’re going.
For the last 15 years, they’ve travelled all over the world creating wedding films for the raddest of humans. To them, a good story is much more than pretty images set to music - it’s about people, journeys, and hearts.

How is everyone out there? Shooting all day every day, edit queued up the wazzoo... sounds about right!
Well, Gregg is a few weeks into being a Father and so not back in the studio ( apologies if we're not releasing too schedule. We too are running at half capacity... and its me steering the ship so its amazing we're still afloat... I'm kidding dont worry...)
This is another special episode of Perspective in partnership with Way Up North, for their 10th edition of the conference which would have been hosted in Copenhagen on April 21st and 22nd 2020 which we were invited to host an episode of their podcast. We spoke to Remi of Maru Films who was one of the speakers of the event. Well, Covid really did a number on all Workshops and events in 2020 so this recording fell out of date. There are still some awesome times and great information to be had in this conversation which we'll try to plan a follow episode on ... however without further ado... Maru Films.

On Friday 26 June 2020 Arran Kenny of AKfilms pulled together the UK wedding videographers virtual workshop in order to raise funds for the Black Lives Matter movement. Included in the lineup of educators were Uniques visual, hushabye films, Richard Leng, Micaela Lindsay, handcraft pictures and us, Cinemate.
The virtual workshop covered a whole range of topics and did in fact raise £840 for the BLM movement which was great! Since the event, we've actually invited many of the speakers to talk on previous episodes of the podcast but when Arran came to us and asked to talk about Elopements 101 we jumped at that chance.

Do you ever find your self at a wedding looking down at your camera panicking about your settings or during a couples session and just not feeling a flow, or in doubt while editing feeling you should have used the 35mm rather than the 50mm??? Maybe you have a digital mindset!
Well, today's guest might be able to help you.... Si Moore is a Rangefinder NYC awarded photographer with a decade’s worth of experience traversing the globe shooting people in love but with a passion for analogue photography and who is a supporter of the philosophies behind shooting in older formats. So let's recalibrate our minds with Si and get back to our analogue state.
Si's also a serial entrepreneur with an array of different businesses under his wing, so we'll be chatting about his business mindset, as well as why is it important to make fans rather than clients!

Welcome to PERSPECTIVE, a podcast for wedding creatives where we sit down, often with a special guest and talk about our many years of experience in the wedding industry so that you can learn from us and grow your own wedding business.
A few weeks ago we were contacted by Experience Designer and Consultant Julie Comfort, pitching herself as a potential guest on the podcast due to her unique perspective on the wedding industry.
I sat reading her initial email thinking to myself whether I know what Experience Design actually was and intrigue took hold.
As Julie explained “Experience design is a fairly new but growing field that takes a holistic, human-centred approach to design, part of a much bigger societal shift that’s guiding us towards a future of events designed around people, not things.
With only a few emails back and forth we most certainly had found a guest we wanted to learn more from, especially now that we're all rethinking what's truly "essential," we wanted to hear if Julie foresees any shifts in weddings toward more meaning and experience.
Of course , if you haven’t heard of Julie comfort before, that’s OK! As regular listeners will already know we don’t just want to heard what our guest have to say but we want to get to know them as people with lives outside of the industry so well be talking to Julie about her as well as her business!

We're shifting gears in this episode as we have a guest who does not work in the wedding industry. Ross Stewart is one of the best personal trainers in Scotland with his own gym in Glasgow called Improve Glasgow.

In episode 04 titled Amazing Ceremonies, Simon and Gregg sit down with Claire Digance AKA Claire The Humanist to discuss how to create an amazing ceremony both from a celebrants point of view as well as the creative photography and videography teams shooting them.
Claire is a humanist based in Scotland. For those out there who aren't familiar with humanism, we get Claire to talk us through the fundamental beliefs behind the movement as well as hear her backstory and how she reached the position she has within the industry.
The main topic of conversation is of course how to approach the ceremony aspect of a wedding or elopement. Understanding each-others roles during this part of a wedding and how to communicate effectively in order to achieve greatness for all parties respectively!
There are a few horror stories told and past difficulties shared but we have a good time talking about those hard times thanks to Claire's beautiful personality and Nelly The Dinosaur (NTD).
This episode focuses on the humanist, photography and filmmaking genres, so if your roles fit into any of these descriptions then you'll find this a useful resource.

In episode three, Simon and Gregg sit down together and open up their kit bag. For all you tech heads out there, Cinemate list all of their gear including cameras, lenses, audio recorders, mics, and all of the other accessories found in their bag.
They not only talk about what they have in their bag but why they have said gear.
A conversation about mindset is also had on this episode, as the two compare new equipment to old and why they decided to reduce their equipment.
Importance of specific roles at a wedding and what each member of the team capture, when and with what gear. There's also a sneaky little tip in this episode for all you shooting in unforgiving weather conditions.

Welcome to Perspective || a podcast for wedding suppliers.
In this episode, Simon and Gregg sit down with Tom JD Armstrong, lead shooter for Cinemate's associate team Lovelock Films. They introduce Tom to the podcast, who he is, his skills with the camera and why he works alongside them as well as mention some of his favourite projects thus far.
The main topic of conversation isn't Tom however but their experience attending the For Love's Sake workshop which was held in Rotterdam earlier this year. The three talk in detail about their trip, being that this was both their second and first FLS workshops attended and discuss why they started going to this workshop and why they think its worth goes far beyond general shooting knowledge.
It should be mentioned that not only did Cinemate attended the workshop but also did a small talk at the event too. Simon retells of his time on stage and why he pushed out of his comfort zone to educate.
If you're a filmmaker in the wedding industry this episode will be enlightening. The next For Love's Sake takes place on 9-10th April 2019 in Barcelona
