Lots to get to in today's #TheShowKC. Jen's Impossible question was (again) about flying -- just to taunt Truta, whose family flies to California this weekend. We talk Pt 2 of the Bachelor finale - the part where Arie rubs it in everyone's face that he ditched one attention-starved girl for another. Fake tears, yelling, screaming, and kissing abound. Truta gets to present an award at the Movie Trip TV awards tonight and is excited about it. He also watched The Bachelor finale last night, but made up for it by checking out a great 30 For 30 Documentary on the late Jimmy Valvano (if you don't know, look him up). We chat with Brian Hanni, the voice of the KU Jayhawks, about this year's Big 12 Tournament. Shaylee plays Gen-X vs Millennial (and loses badly). Here's to Hump Day! See you tomorrow!

More snow was expected in KC today, so it's a cold #TheShowKC. The first half hour has Truta trying to figure out a child's tongue twister based on Sixpence None the Richer...which we figure out later was "sing a song of sixpence." Entertainment News brought us the story of the Oscar Stealer. Someone brings up being voted Most Likely To Succeed. We wonder if anyone on The Show made those lists. Both Jen and Truta's schools did not do them, and Joey didn't make the cut. One texter's kid was voted Most Likely to Join the Army -- and he's going to when he graduates! Jen's dad was voted Most Likely to use a flip phone, and that has us reminiscing about our first cell phones. The Vent Line opens with thoughts on people who don't use their blinkers, people who take enormous amounts of selfies, and the WIND! Haha - that was a good one. Nobody on The Show likes the Bachelor, but we heard last night's finale was particularly cringeworthy, so we dial up our Bachelor expert - Natalie Rush from the afternoon show who fills us in all of the Arie goodness. We'll have to watch again tonight on Round 2! See you tomorrow!

Sadness all around on #TheShowKC today as Truta actually had to come to work after Johnson County cancelled his jury duty call, and Shaylee was mourning her Vikings after they lost to the Eagles in the NFC Championship. We catch up on last night's SAG Awards. There are a ton of concerts coming to Kansas City: the least of which is Billy Joel at Kauffman Stadium in September. We have tickets to give away all week long. Truta nearly got Shaylee busted on Friday as they were on the way to the Billy Joel announcement. Don't ever listen to your passenger -- especially if they tell you to make illegal turns! Shaylee watched an 80's movie over the weekend, so we got to quiz her on Better Off Dead. Truta doesn't like the movie much. In all access, P Diddy draws attention to the fact that the world has forgotten he was also on stage with Justin Timberlake and Janet Jackson during the ill-fated "Booby"bowl half time show. And guess what? So was Nelly AND Kid Rock. What?? We didn't remember anything about those guys. Jen takes her microphone on the street to help us play a game for Billy Joel tickets. And of course we couldn't resist asking Casi about meeting a Backstreet Boy (Kevin) when she sang the national anthem at last week's Chiefs game. Turns out Kevin's wife is from KC and he's a big Chiefs fan. Then, Danny Z from Country Hill Motors came by to wrap up the 10th Annual Season of Giving. We received more than 1,300 letters of nomination for families to receive one of three life changing gifts. Today, we called Carol, a single mom of 5 whose husband passed away recently, and awarded her a mini-van filled with toys for her family. Listen to the letters of love that her friend Dawn and mother in law wrote to share...we dare you not to cry! What a great way to nearly draw the season to a close...See you Friday!

For Halloween this year we got a special treat at #TheShowKC. we invited PRI, a paranormal investigation team, to come check out our building in Westport. Strange stories have surrounded our digs for a long time. People who have worked in radio for years have talked about mysterious figures, strange sounds, voices and other phenomenon. Our own Shaylee has heard the sounds of a distant typewriter, an appliance not found in ours - or any - office for eons. And now, our Halloween treat to you: some spooky stories and our first ghost investigation. Happy Halloween from The Show!

Is Jen a ghost? That's the big question posed from today's #TheShowKC. As we try to push thoughts of the previous night's Chiefs game out of our heads, let's ponder things like: why is there a bagel that costs $1,000? Should a guy still ask permission from a woman's dad before he asks her to marry him? Truta finally makes it in to the show and we get to #Blessed for a Friday. Cinetopia helps us preview the big movies coming out this weekend. Finally we get to Jen's scary story. Is there a time warp right here in Westport? Could we be in one of the gates to Hell? From #TheShowKC on Thursday: Jen broke her mic in a hulk fit of rage...just kidding, our studio is crap and the arm broke. Worlds of Fun is getting rid of the Finnish Fling -- that ride where you spin in a big barrel and the floor drops out underneath you. That made us reminisce about our favorite WOF rides of the past: the Orient Express, the Zambizi Zinger. A new phone scam demands $2,000 from people in order to prevent a woman's fingers from being "dismembered." Jen says she would let them cut the girl's fingers off since she doesn't have two grand to hand over. People suck when they don't use their turn signal, this is what we discovered in Jen's Impossible Question. Billy Joel is going to be a father again - at age 68! The cast debates their Halloween costume. Killer clowns are trying to grab people in Florida (of course), but a kid defended himself from the clown with a selfie stick. Truta wants to invent a selfie stick that can double as a weapon. A college girl "contaminated" her roommate's water bottle with h20 from the toilet. Ugh!! Watch your cups. We chat with the host of one our favorite childhood shows: Double Dare! Marc Summers has a new documentary being made about his life called "On Your Marc" and called in to talk about the documentary, his battle with OCD and give us some behind the scenes scoopon Double Dare and Unwrapped. Hear our full chat on the SHOWcast! A new (old) judge has been announced for The Voice. It is now time to make Steve Irwin jokes. Well, not really, but how long is "too soon?" We look forward to the Chiefs on Thursday night football against the Raiders tonight. Truta pulls out the Google machine for another round of Google Predicts. Why do radio stations' call letters begin with K and W? Who knows? Who cares? We ask the tough questions on The Show. See you tomorrow!

Does Jen have Pink Eye?? Everyone hopes not. This is the time of year for bad stuff: lice, colds, coughs, bleh. Stuff we talked about on #TheShowKC: a woman running for Congress says she has been abducted by aliens on multiple occasions; Jen's "Soothing" Impossible Questions; there was a great "Rob Burgundy" moment during a football game over the weekend, when the announcer straight read the teleprompter, including stuff he wasn't meant to read out loud. This lead Truta to revisit his all time favorite news blooper clip about the gay/blind mountain climber. Our friend Casi Joy finally got married over the weekend, and we revisit the wedding present that The Show cast sent to Casi and Bryan: the "illumi-bowl"...a light up toilet bowl seat! Who wouldn't want to turn their toilet into a nightlight? It's Payback a Friend day and we want to help someone pay their debt in concert tickets. We helped Renee pay off her debt to Kim by sending them to the Janet Jackson concert. Luckily Kim accepted this form of payment and the two are actually going to have a great night hanging out together! Lots of celebrities are getting hit by cars now. We think it's an epidemic to get publicity for their projects. As of the 17th of October there are only 69 days until Christmas. This Is Us has been a huge show. Producer Joey came up with a quiz for the rest of the cast, to see how well they know the show. We also learn that Joey has a strange, familial tie to This Is Us. Listen and found out how. See you tomorrow!

Who's Chris Martin from Coldplay dating now? Pink sings Gn'R. Cubs win! Cubs win! We get a ghostly Flashback Friday from Jen in the form of a tape she recorded on Friday the 13th, 32 years ago! We play a round of What Am I Scared Of? where people guess the phobia. Next up we give away Cinetopia tickets while revealing the new movies out this weekend. Then it's time for Kansas City's own Melissa Etheridge to call in and chat about her new album and singing the national anthem before the Chiefs-Steelers game. We tease Jen with her "special surprise" this morning, just in time for Friday the 13th. Shaylee finally shows up after a night of tequila. Go cheer them on and shed a tear! :( Shaylee is stalking Travis Kelce. Since baseball is over, everyone is getting ready for football! Monday Night Football takes over Arrowhead when we come back next week. We open the phones for people to share how they are #Blessed heading into the weekend. The Show chats about the newest movies coming to Cinetopia and we hand out some movie tickets. Choose between the new Tom Cruise film, American Made; the sequel to Flatliners; or Battle of the Sexes starring Steve Carrel and Emma Stone. The Super Nintendo classic is the new hot item; people have been lined up since midnight last night to get one. We remember the classic games of our youth. There was a lot of ground covered on #TheShowKC today. Fall was here in a big way this morning with the chilly air. Jen is still crying over This Is Us...and apparently, everyone else is, too! We woke up to news that Hugh Hefner had passed away on Wednesday and track celebrity reaction for you. Truta is bowling Thursday night for a fundraiser (7p, No Other Pub in the Power and Light District), while Jen goes to the hockey game at Sprint Center. There are teenagers out there who could not care less about driving. We talk to some parents whose kids have had no desire to get their license -- and then some who can't wait. Then, Jen's dad called to weigh in on the whole teen driving issue (he is a teacher). Jen is not going to get a flu shot this year, she doesn't like them. We debate who will get one this year. Listeners call in to play Playboy or No Way, where we ask you what celebrities appeared in Playboy. Truta once went to a Playboy party, but neither saw Hugh nor got any numbers. That's about right. (Spoiler alert!) What does it take to be basic? Truta wants to know what it means to be "basic." The crew and listeners reveal which TV shows they are most excited to see return. Truta remembers what it was like to record (and re-record) your outgoing answering machine message. Shaylee has a problem...she saw a guy once and didn't feel a connection. Wow, what #TheShowKC today! The studio was on fire. Jen, in the blue trunks fighting out of the right corner, versus Shaylee in the red corner, while Truta was Judge Mills in the middle. In the midst of all of the other big stories -- Houston floods, Danny Duffy's DUI -- comes the news that Taylor Swift will give "credit" to fans who share her videos online, download her album, take selfies and tag Taylor, blah blah blah. Those credits will bump fans up further in the line to buy concert tickets when Taylor's tour is announced. This would lower the status of those who don't -- or can't -- share stuff online. Is that fair? Listen to the back and forth from millennial Shaylee and "Jen-X". Funny enough, we play Gen-X vs Millennial later in the program. What are your thoughts? Tell us! A busy KC Closeup today... first, a Swan Race on the Missouri river? Stefan White from Friends of the Park joins us to talk about today's event at Berkley Riverfront Park. As talk of the sun and moon eclipses all other stories, we dig into the science of eclipses with Daniel McIntosh, PhD, Astronomer and Astrophysicist at UMKC. Daniel fills us in on the best place in the metro to see the eclipse, why we have to wear glasses and what actually happens during "totality." Then we talk about an eclipse party happening all weekend long in downtown Independence, MO. Tonight you can see the movie "ET" on the town square, followed by numerous eclipse activities on Monday. Finally, a preview of our chat with Brad Eastman, who was diagnosed with a brain tumor four years ago. Brad will be taking part in next week's Head for the Cure 5k run/walk. Last night was the Bruno Mars concert and someone is missing from #TheShowKC this early morning.... oh wait, Shaylee was asleep! Go figure! We talk Bruno, the eclipse, the Taylor Swift trial, the Princess Diana special, and more! Jack Bergeson is a 16 year high school student from Wichita, KS. When it was decided that Governor Brownback would move on as an ambassador and people began to pay attention to the 2018 election, Jack discovered that the Kansas constitution does not actually spell out any rules for who can run for the top position. No age limit, no nothin'. So Jack has decided to run for Governor. We talk with him this morning. In one of Truta's favorite stories we find out about the wedding crashers who left the gift of $1 -- and now the married couple wants to meet the crashers! We get a Bruno Mars review from a friend. Then we play Beat Shazam. Shaylee is so bad at the 80's! Have a great day, see you Friday!

Truta did not bring the Royals good luck last night; they lost to the Cardinals big time. Today on #TheShowKC we talk about Royals of a different kind: the royal family. This is the 20th anniversary of the death of Princess Diana. Do you remember where you were when you heard the news? Michelle Tauber, head royals writer for People magazine, called in to talk about the new documentary special put together by People and ABC TV. Part One airs tonight and Michelle gave us some sneak peeks at a few stories that will be in the special: gave us goosebumps!! (Check it out at 8p on Channel 9) In other news, the sold out Bruno Mars concert is tonight and The Show got their hands on one last pair of tickets. We play Gen X vs Millennial and Shaylee upsets the text line with her lack of 80's knowledge. All in today's Show... see you tomorrow!!

We missed Jen on #TheShowKC today...turns out her basement was flooded overnight. We'll soldier on with out her. First, a big night for the Royals night as they beat the Tigers 16-2. Jen's Impossible Question (as read by Shaylee) concerns the little kids and something parents let them do. Truta confesses his love of mani-pedis. An awful story from Ohio about a carnival ride came up in entertainment news, and we find out that his Bullwinkle impression is as bad as, well, every other impression he does. Phone topic time: Truta's friend tried to get out of a party by blaming her kids; after leaving a message with the made up excuse, she thought they hung up the phone and proceeded to rip the person giving the party. After a while, she looked down and noticed the phone never hung up! Uh oh. When did you text the wrong person? Or e-mail? Or call? Great stories this morning. Bieber did something stupid again and Shaylee reveals all in the All Access, plus Dancing With The Stars is looking for a great new competitor! Check your basement for water! And never drive through water. Speaking of DWTS, we have tickets to give away to the tour and play a round of Google Predicts. Entertainment News and a last look at breaking weather news wraps up The Show. Don't float away and be safe, everyone!

There's a big story that is dividing people all over the city: the Kansas City Chiefs are using Michael Vick as a quarterbacks coaching intern during training camp, and some people aren't having it. The former NFL star spent time in jail related to charges of dogfighting and animal advocates are up in arms. We ask today: what side do you fall on? Some people have even talked about giving up their tickets. MTV announces the VMA nominations. Sporting KC said goodbye to forward Dom Dwyer - the love of Shaylee's life - and she is super sad about it. You have to check out the video on our FB page with her crying over a Dwyer slide show. We torment her with sad songs. Then we ask her to play Gen-X vs Millennial...and the results are predictable. #TheShowKC

From today's #TheShowKC: Jen's power has been restored! There's no way Truta can be trusted with a chain saw. Drug dealers are stupid. Royals on a hot streak. More employees quit in May than any other month. Jen found a new dentist and we try to get people jobs. We now know what the dad in Home Alone - Peter McAllister - did for work to get that big house and a trip to France. Check out Jen's Entertainment News for the scoop. Joey was nearly arrested and the story had Truta's jaw on the floor! It turns out you CAN be too weird for Westport. Who would've thunk it? We get another finalist in The Show's 12 Days of Christmas. Jen and Truta agree to not get each other birthday presents. Shaylee has a hashtag made up for her future wedding to Rashad Jennings: #HenningsToAJennings. Make it happen! More 90's shows are coming back to your TV. Truta wonders if anyone kept a diary on the show. He wants to read it on the air. Jen literally JUST found out that Dr. Phil is actually from the KC area and went to Shawnee Mission North. We then play a round of "Who Came From KC" to give away Dancing With The Stars tickets. A final blast of entertainment news and we're out for Tuesday. See you tomorrow!

Jen has been without power for days! She is cranky. :) Phelps vs. Shark was a big ol' letdown. Of course. Truta wants to see Girls Trip. There's been a bunch of "Fake News" lately about celebrities wanting to move to somewhere in the metro. Facebook has been full of stories like Katy Perry wanting to move to Olathe or Matthew McConaughey loving Liberty. These are NOT REAL, people! Since Jen is cranky we open the vent line for people to get stuff off their chest. We play the Google Predicts game. See you Tuesday!

On KC Closeup for July 23, 2017. First, a local story that ties into a major political headline this week. Senator John McCain was diagnosed this week with a glioblastoma - an aggressive brain tumor. This same disease affected Matt Anthony's brother, Chris in October 2000. As part of his legacy, Chris and Matt founded the Head for the Cure 5k run/walk in 2002. This year, as the run celebrates its 15th year, not only is the event bigger than ever, but the returns are the greatest they have ever been. With more than 20 Head for the Cure events across the country, the foundation is poised to pass the $10 million mark some time in the next year -- all of it benefiting the Brain Tumor Trials Collaborative, a network of doctors and institutes across America who mission is to lead clinical trials and research into brain cancers. In the second half of the show we meet Gabe Maloney and his service dog, Stanley. When Gabe and Stanley were thrown out of an Independence business because a clerk and a police officer did not recognize an outward disability in Gabe, he didn't get mad - he just got an idea for an Eagle Scout project. #KCCloseup #KCPride #HeadForTheCure #ServiceDogAwareness

A humid day on #TheShowKC. The Juice is about to be let loose and we have Joey pouring free OJ in Westport to commemorate. Sad news about Chester from Linkin Park, who took his own life yesterday on what would have been the birthday of Soundgarden singer Chris Cornell. As we always tell our friends and listeners, if you need someone to talk to, please call the Suicide Prevention Lifeline at 800-273-8255. Jen's Impossible question had important things for Truta to remember now that his birthday is coming up. We try to answer the question, What happened to Josh Hartnett? Joey and the girls head outside to pour Free OJ now that the Juice will be free. And Joey begins to stretch for his race against Jen. Dressed as a shark, Joey will try to beat Jen on a tricycle. There was great build-up to the event....and then, the race actually happened. Jen is so tall she doesn't fit on a tricycle. Joey was really unable to get the pedals going. You'll have to listen for all of the race goodness OR check out our FB Live video at the KC102.1 Facebook page. We check the weekend box office for new movies coming to B&B Theatres. Truta can't wait to see Dunkirk on the B&B Grand Screen. Another look at news and a breakdown of the Joey vs Jen tricycle race. After that, Truta blows the hits. Can listeners guess what songs Truta is trying to play on his kazoo. Believe it or not, he's gotten pretty good. Have a good weekend! See you Monday!

Good morning from #TheShowKC! Jen is obsessed with Shark Week and the Michael Phelps vs Great White Shark race. We have a plan to conduct a race of our very own....stay tuned! We are also obsessed with whether O.J. Simpson will be released from prison on parole. A rather childish response to Jen's Impossible Question...but Ronnie has the real scoop. We get into the names of drinks - why is it called a 7&7? What does it all mean? Alternate history shows are all the rage right now and the makers of Game of Thrones have a new one on deck right now. We get into the songs that make us cry - and as it turns out we have all sorts of songs and reasons why those make us tear up. We unveil our Joey (as shark) vs Listener competition for Luke Bryan tickets. Survey time again. This time Truta has the "Top Celebrities with the Last Name of Carter" thanks to Aaron Carter being arrested. Can't wait to see who wins. See you tomorrow!

Busy, busy morning at #TheShowKC. The a/c was broke again so The Show was HOT all around! We follow up on the news that broke at the end of yesterday's show: Jen has never been to Joe's KC BBQ. What?? And unfortunately, that's still true. She punted last night's visit because of the weather (lame). Stupid Conor McGregor news in 10 Items or Less. Jen's Impossible Question was nearly impossible, but satisfying for those who drive around parking lots a bunch. After entertainment news it was the moment we've all been waiting for...Shaylee's player, Cody, was evicted from Big Brother last night. This means Shaylee got 10 minutes in the torture closet with a playlist put together by Producer Joey. Listen to #TortureCloset in all of its glory or see it with your own eyes on FB Live (currently archived on the KC102.1 Facebook page). It was amazing! In the B&B Theatres segment we take a look at the movies opening this weekend. Hear trailers from War For The Planet of the Apes and The Big Sick. Then, another moment we were all salivating over: David from Betty Rae's ice cream stopped by to give The Show a sneak peek at their new Joe's BBQ burnt ends ice cream, which they will be unveiling to the world on Sunday - National Ice Cream Day! Check out Betty Rae's at Wornall and 72nd this Sunday for food trucks and more (plus, they have a liquor license!). It's another round of Beat Kazoo for Blondie/Garbage tickets. Can you guys get the Biggest Kazoo Hits!? Entertainment news with New Kids scoop. To wrap the show we had a story of a guy who got trapped INSIDE an ATM. Inside! Things to ponder this weekend... See you Monday!

It's been a bad few days on KC highways, and this morning the driving didn't get any better. Kid Rock wants to be a Senator...the reason why he feels qualified is great. Jen's Impossible Question strikes close to home. Truta's car is starting to fall apart around him. This time, the air condition in the back of the car doesn't work, so Adi sweats while he rides in freezing cold a/c. #TheShowKC takes your crappy car stories. On National French Fry day, The Show debates the best way to eat potato slices. It is one of the hottest days of the year, our air condition in the building has been broken, and yet Shaylee is in a blanket. Then, the moment you were all waiting for...Truta has been practicing the kazoo in hopes of joining Coldplay on stage in August. Today he kazoos the hits as listeners try to....Beat Kazoo! The NY Post ranked the best BBQ in America and Jen has NEVER been to the place they named #1. What?? Travesty! She may visit today. Stay tuned...

Today is the day we have all been waiting for: Meltbox Ice Cream truck is coming by #TheShowKC to have us sample their ice cream stuffed donuts. Spoiler alert: it's amazing! Shark Week comes early in Jen's Impossible Question. Britney wants to perform at the Super Bowl...although Truta saw her at the Super Bowl before. What are words that men over 40 shouldn't say? Jen heard an old dude use "Cray Cray" in the supermarket. That shouldn't happen. The text line blew up with examples! It's Wednesday and that means time to play Gen-X vs Millennial. All Access with Shaylee had Blac Chyna news. The Show recapped last night's All Star Game and a rough Sporting KC match for Ike Opara. Then it was ice cream time... Justin from Meltbox Ice Cream truck came by to demonstrate his ice cream stuffed donuts. Everyone sampled and - take our word - it was pure amazeballs!

Happy 7/11! Jen is still on an Amelia Earhart kick. Moose got jobbed in the Home Run Derby. You can get free stuff all day today - chicken, slurpees and whatnot. We find out what kind of men are the best tippers. A man walked into a Boston radio station and demanded they play an Insane Clown Posse song. We share our own stories of crazy listeners. We make an announcement about Christmas in July and what you can win from #TheShowKC over the next couple of weeks. Jersey Shore is back! Shaylee had the details in All Access. A quick look at news and Truta needs a talent. Why? He has tickets to see one of his favorite bands, Coldplay, in August. It seems like every night they've been pulling a fan up on stage to perform with them. Well, apparently you have to be talented and ready to go just in case this happens at a concert. The text line gets involved and it sounds like Truta will be learning the kazoo shortly. See you tomorrow!

Truta pulled an Amelia Earhart and went missing from Jen's watch party last night. The girls apparently had a lot of food and are now convinced Earhart lived! Jen's Impossible Question had to do with clean desks at work. Truta didn't quite like Baby Driver as much as Jen. He felt there could have been more action. There were some big concerts this weekend and #TheShowKC cast members break down the shows they saw. We started talking about riders -- the silly things artists ask for in their contracts with venues -- and Jen made us guess the artist based on the rider. The girls recap the Amelia Earhart documentary. Caller Damien plays the Whisper Challenge with us...will the girls stay the champions? Entertainment news takes us home with some 1920's Reporter thrown in for good measure. See you tomorrow!

The date 7/7/17 is supposed to be lucky...just not for Jen. She had a bad start to the day. Moose is feeling lucky, though...he's going to the All Star Game! The Impossible Question asked what women do before they step on the scale. In entertainment news, Ed Sheeran spills the beans about why he ditched Twitter. Then we get into Jen's poo problem. Turns out someone is walking their dog and leaving the little blue poo bags in her driveway and yard. This calls for a stakeout! We brainstorm some ideas for her: cameras, signs, Liam Neeson from Taken. B&B Theaters helps us figure out the new movies coming out this weekend. We get listener Carrie on the phone for a Big Brother recap...Jen almost went home last night! Hamsters and guinea pigs come up and we end the day with some light entertainment. See you after the Amelia Earhart special! #TheShowKC

Amelia Earhart dominated the conversation today, as it is all over the world. Researchers think she was alive and captured by the Japanese. Jen went from total skeptic when #TheShowKC began today, to believing somewhat, to now hosting a watch party for the documentary this Sunday. We also talk about baby names - did you know Amelia is #2 on the 2017 list of most popular baby names? Since when? We actually had the mom of an Amelia call in. Jen gives Truta a round of Google Predicts which, predictably, ended up awfully. More conspiracy theory talk and we're off to entertainment news. See you tomorrow!

We got a Big Brother update courtesy of listener Christina (whom we woke up from vacation sleep). Half of the house is already in a showmance - or hookup. We all agree that Missouri drivers are the worst (Just kidding, Joey and Shaylee are from Missouri). Everyone had bad driver stories. We play a round of Gen-X vs Millennial and contestant Carol was one of the best we've had. Seacrest doesn't get his way in the All Access. Then it's time for #TheShowKC #BB19 #BigBrother Draft! Each cast member of The Show draws a Big Brother contestant...and it's a very #BB-esque punishment this season. Jen goes deep into the recesses of each cast member's social media for a game of "Who Tweeted It". From #TheShowKC for Tuesday: Jen has the in-laws coming and is subjecting her whole house to a clean. Brides want wi-fi and wedding hashtags are horrible. Truta read from an e-mail his HOA sent out about people acting horrible at the pool. This is the neighborhood pool that everyone pays dues toward. Why are they trashing the place and throwing chairs in the pool?? Can we not have nice things, people? Others shared their stories of people destroying the community property at their apartments and neighborhoods. We play the Google Predicts game for Queen/Adam Lambert tickets. It's Big Slick weekend in Kansas City. To find out a little more about this fun and fantastic time we talk with a few celebrities brought here by the big 5 hosts. On this show we talk to Samm Levine, Will Forte, Sarah Chalke and Kansas City's own David Cook.

It’s Big Slick Day in Kansas City and #TheShowKC is pumped. We wonder who is going to get star struck tonight? Probably Jen over Weird Al. In the entertainment news, great stories about Tom Cruise juggling Bible study and, ummm, fun ladies. Laura Marano (Austin & Ally, Disney Channel) called in to talk about her first time at Big Slick this weekend, and did tell us that while she’s not a great softball player she does feel confident about her bowling skills (when she can use those bumpers). With the weekend about to start we ask how you are #Blessed. We heard from Ashley, a teacher, who is taking time off to potty train her kid (wha???) and even heard from people with connections to Children’s Mercy Hospital - the perfect thing for this Big Slick weekend. Our buddy Paul from B&B Theatres called in to talk about movies opening up this weekend...Cars 3, Wonder Woman and 47 Meters Down are still hot and the big, new film is Transformer: The Last Knight. The Show cast plays a round of Big Slick Password and Truta is dismayed when the girls actually had more opportunity to win than the boys. It was an unfair advantage! Next, one of the guests we’ve been waiting for… Sarah Chalke (Roseanne, Scrubs) called in to talk about driveway RV birthday parties, human centipede, shot putting, mall walking, and of course, Big Slick. Plus, we ask her about the return of Roseanne and Sarah sheds light on what she can - and can’t - talk about in regards to the reboot. Entertainment News had one of Jen’s favorites getting a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. Join us all weekend long on social media with Big Slick updates, audio, video and more!

Big Slick Week continues on #TheShowKC today, and it's a huge morning! Comedian Samm Levine (Freaks N Geeks) called in and agreed that Will Forte is THE sexiest Big Slicker on the softball field. Then, our very own Voice contestant Casi Joy came into the studio. Casi is singing the National Anthem and O Canada at the Big Slick Royals game Friday night. She even brought her puppy in to hang out, which made the girls happy! Then we played the Beat Shazam game and Casi scored her first victory. Last time wasn't quite so good for her. A little All Access news from Shaylee and then we get an in studio visit from ANOTHER big superstar: David Cook! Not only that, The Show got an exclusive, premiere sneak peek at David's new single "Gimme Heartbreak" which is available Friday at all music stores and services. After David we talk about the boy who went missing - but was miraculously found on his roof by a TV helicopter. Jen doesn't believe the story to be true. Truta thought it sounded like Balloon Boy from years back. Bachelor in Paradise news in Jen's celebrity report and then Truta breaks out a survey that says the Chiefs have the worst fanbase in all of the NFL, which we know to be false! What?? The lovers and the haters then took to the text line to back this up or put it down. We'll show the NFL! Have a great day!

A slow start for Shaylee after Mexican Monday. We remember the time Shaylee had someone fly a drone outside her bedroom. There's a job for a nanny to make $64k...the only rub is that you'll work in a haunted house where 5 other nannies have quit. Good luck! In celebrity news, Hanson hates Justin Bieber and considers him to be "chlamydia for the ear." Truta's new favorite meme is "The Floor Is Lava." You yell "the floor is lava" at someone and then count down from 5. The other person has to get their feet off the floor before you get to zero. Eric Stonestreet gave us a little insight and scoop into the Big Slick event. We are talking to James Van Der Beek, Sarah Chalke and other celebs through-out the rest of the week. We ripped off Jimmy Fallon's new game: Think Fast! Jen and Joey took turns asking each other random questions and they had to answer as fast as they could and the more wrong the better. In the All Access we talk Kate Winslet and Leonardo. Jen's neighborhood is getting run over with solicitors. We talk about ditching them, making them leave your house, not answering the door, etc. We play the Google Predicts game with Joey and it doesn't get any better. Another look at entertainment news. Colorado is considering making it illegal for kids under 13 to possess a cell phone. Our kids can do amazing things - like rap.

Busy Monday at #TheShowKC! We hope everyone had a great Father's Day weekend. It sounds like the girls had as much fun (food?) as the guys. We find out early on in the show that Joe Buck does indeed ruin everything. Truta had a bad skinny dippy experience in college. Queen Bey had twins and the world exhales. We ask how you passed the time while your power was out? Comedian/Actor Will Forte (SNL, Last Man On Earth) called in to chat about this week's Big Slick event, his softball prowess and how his sexiness affects the game. How can Coldplay be as bad as the Chainsmokers? We find out in Shaylee's All Access. Back to the ticket giveaways as we have tickets to see (the) Lorde next March at Sprint Center (right before Christmas). We play the Google Predicts game and this time Jen did the googling while Truta tried to guess. It got cringeworthy real fast. Shaylee watched the Breakfast Club over the weekend and gives us her review today in the weekly movie report. After asking a few trivia questions we determined she did indeed watched the show...and liked it! CBS has unveiled the new cast of Big Brother and we reveal our favorites and break 'em down in the entertainment news segment. Revisiting the Joe Buck faux pas from the U.S. Open also leads us into discussion about the celebrity diving show (Splash) and Louie Anderson. Great, random day. See you tomorrow!

Truta played a joke on the girls and told them he was out all night drinking following the previous night's Media awards. Shaylee believed Truta was drinking til 5:30 in the morning and came straight to the show. Well...not so much. He had McDonald's and was in bed by 10:30. It turns out nobody knows where chocolate milk comes from - people think it's from brown cows. Wow. Entertainment News had some Real Housewives info and news of Aisha Tyler leaving The Talk...and consequently not coming to Big Slick. As it is, while a lot of people didn't realize chocolate milk did not come from brown cows, 40% of 3rd-5th graders did not realize burgers came from cows. Say huh?? Chase and Holly from Charlie Hustle t-shirt company stopped by to unveil some news about their Big Slick shirt and show off their new line of American tees, just in time for 4th of July. We have our B&B Theaters own Paul Farnsworth in to talk about the big movies for the weekend, including Cars 3, Rough Night, 47 Meters Down (the shark movie) and the Tupac film. Comedian Joe Lo Truligo (Brooklyn 9-9, Super Bad) called in to talk about coming to the Big Slick weekend. It's survey time and this time Truta's asking the cast about the Hottest TV Dads, just in time for Father's Day. Truta initially thought the story about a blimp crashing in the woods at a PGA event was about Tiger Woods getting high and crashing something. Jen announced the Lorde concert in Entertainment News. See her at Sprint Center March 3, 2018. Jen was confused by Truta's earlier prank. We get a nice message from an 11 year old. Happy Father's Day all you dads! See you Monday!

Lots of random in #TheShowKC today. Allergies are getting Truta. Our Keurig machine has mold and no one wants to clean it. Impossible Question has us figuring out just who drives a mini-van. In entertainment news we enjoy Miley Cyrus singing karaoke with jumbled lyrics. There's a new list from Cosmo about the 50 "Old" Movies Young People Must See. We go through the list to see if we can add some to Shaylee's list. We play a round of Trick or Trending to give away some Lady Antabellum tickets. Speculation is that Beyonce has already given birth -- and rumor says she and Jay-Z built a maternity ward on the side of their house. We debate "push presents" and grandma showers then get into the real debate: what will be the Song of the Summer? Contenders include Chainsmokers w/ Coldplay, Ed Sheeran "Shape of You", and Bieber's "Despacito" -- which is a fav of Truta and Shaylee. The internet lost its collective mind when it discovered Sasha Obama's real name is Natasha. We got some great calls from Peanut, Tater, Orbit, Jenkins and more! Great stuff. Shaylee does not know the Talking Heads. Jen's entertainment news has Ryan Seacrest and Idol updates. We talk the new Mummies exhibition at Union Station. Truta does the voiceover for the audio tour and encourages you to go see it and buy the audio tour. He'll be in your head forever!

Someday nothing goes right on #TheShowKC. We thought this might be one of those days. Truta is watching a dead cockroach in the stairwell that never gets picked up. It's good sign of how clean our building is. Jen and Truta both love 60 Minutes, even though they feel it makes them old. We get an impossible question about stealing from work. The latest on the Bachelor in Paradise saga. Shaylee wonders how soon is too soon to drop an ex from social media. The Google Predicts game makes a comeback and Shaylee (kinda?) won. Jen was watching America's Got Talent and one of the best guys was a radio sales dude from Ohio. We got the idea to see if our sales people had talent, and Ryan came up the winner with his impression of Bob Dylan doing Baby Got Back. We chat about the best and worst states to raise a kid. Another round of entertainment news and we give away tickets to see The Weeknd. A song we played reminded Jen of her 4th Grade teacher's wedding. Producer Joey reviews John Legend and we discuss the pull-out chair in Truta's office (don't touch it, by the way). Tomorrow night we find out who wins Radio Station of the Year. Listen Friday for all the scoop!

Howdy from #TheShowKC. Jen went to see New Kids on the Block last night and is paying for it today, although she says it was a great show and the ladies went nuts over the boys. In the Impossible Question, winner Kevin wants to give his mom the tickets for the Just For Her event, but would keep the Vegas trip to himself if he won. Nice! Celebrity news has some American Idol audition news (spoiler: there is no KC date). Another concert announcement this morning: the Weeknd is coming to Sprint Center, September 26th. Keep listening to The Show for tickets. In the Snap Chat segment we ask: what was your worst summer job? Lots of mascots, phone jockeys and one corn detassler! Shaylee had the All Access about Nial - formerly of 1D - doesn't have time for Tinder. Who doesn't have time for Tinder? Two Chiefs Cheerleaders come by to talk about the upcoming activities at Arrowhead Stadium. Allison and Megan chatted about the 5k, Top Golf Crush and the U2 concert. We then got them to play a version of the Whisper Challenge with us and they rocked! Celebrity news ended the day. See you tomorrow!

We all just about wore the same thing to #TheShowKC this morning. That means either a) none of us have any fashion sense; b) the only wardrobe we all have is comprised of Charlie Hustle shirts; c) all of the above. More concert announcements this morning... Lady A at Sprint Center! Shaylee watched 16 Candles and we grill her on it. There's some hanky panky that shut down Bachelor in Paradise. Wha??? How does that smut get shut down? Mary Murphy, a judge from So You Think You Can Dance, called in to talk about tonight's premiere. Hint: watch for the tap dancer! We debut our new game: the Google Predicts game. Jen has to guess how Google will finish the sentence. Great fun! More celebrity news and Truta has foxes.

Friday at #TheShowKC at Producer Joey is in Chicago with a wedding that features a magician and pet adoptions. Wha??? The Show kicks off and Truta is back after spending a day with a sick kid. He almost likes doing the show better at home (he can stay in his undies there). We get to entertainment news and the Seinfeld (non)-hug heard 'round the world. Weird dreams occupied our thoughts. And then Joel McHale (The Soup, Community) called up to chat...and we give you the FULL conversation right here. Next it's the movies opening up this weekend with B&B Theatres. Our buddy James Johann came in to promote his show at Stanfords and we roped him into playing the Beat Shazam game...and he was pretty good! Another quick round of entertainment news and we are off to the weekend. See you Monday!

A different kind of #TheShowKC today. Adi is sick with strep throat so Truta handled his part of The Show live from his basement office. Much talk of the wearing (or not wearing) of pants ensues. Jen has an impossible question as alway. We get into the entertainment news and are ready to announce another big concert coming to Kansas City, and it is...Katy Perry! See her in October at Sprint Center. We play a game to see how much (or little) Shaylee and Producer Joey know about New Kids on the Block. The answer is: not much. During the All Access with Shaylee we learned that Phil Collins had been rushed to the hospital overnight after tripping on a chair, falling and cracking his head open. Well, that opened a whole can of worms on Twitter, as the Phil Collins song puns began in earnest. Next up, Graham from One Flag came in to talk about the group's latest development: opening up a contest to find the design of the flag. One Flag's goal is to unite both sides of the state line under one banner. The winning design is worth some great prizes and more info will be out soon on the parameters of submission. Random stories about birds, bats and Shaylee's movie list follows before Jen closes out with another look at Entertainment News and Phil Collins.

From the start, the feng shui of #TheShowKC and the studio was off because Shaylee moved seats in the studios. In entertainment news Jen made us all feel inadequate by highlighting a 9 year old girl who belted out a big song on America's Got Talent. We listened to it and everyone realized we have no talent. Producer Joey is going to wedding where they are going to have a magician, adoptable puppies and food trucks. Is this a carnival or a wedding? Jen found a story of a woman who is having trouble finding a photographer for her big day. Read a little further on and you see why: she wants the photog to agree to a contract where she gets refund if they get divorced. After all, she won't need the pictures if she breaks up with her husband. A real photographer called in and said, "no way." In the All Access with Shaylee, Jen think Ed Sheeran's "Don't" is the same as "No Diggity". Hmmm...check our mashup and see. We play Gen-X vs Millennial and again Shaylee loses. Shayles, however, did know what "Zestfully Clean" meant. We love random calls and texts...Sue from Olathe called to tell us that she had been working out of town and missed our show. That was awesome! Don't forget you can always listen to this podcast or download the KC102.1 app from the App Store/Google Play and listen live anywhere in the world! Enjoy your day!

Shaylee started her Tuesday by doing her nails and hair and everything else in studio during #TheShowKC. We have a big announcement coming up about midway through the show. Jen's impossible question astounds and confuses. In celebrity news, the Bachelorette sends home the Waaaboom! guy. Booooo! The Whisper Challenge returns and Truta is just as bad as always. Truta is really bad at this game. Shaylee has started on her list of movies to watch with a weekend viewing of Uncle Buck. We wanted to see if she actually watched the film, so we gave Shayles some Uncle Buck trivia. In the all access we learn that P Diddy has a room full of candy in his house. More Waboom guy and Mandy Moore comes up. It was finally time to make the big announcement: U2 is coming back to Kansas City for the first time since the early 00's. See them at Arrowhead Stadium September 12th. That got us talking about the best shows we've ever seen. More U2 and more celebrity news wraps up the show for today. Have a good one!

Today Truta talks with Bill Svoboda, executive director of Kansas City PrideFest, one week before the start of this year's event. With great musical acts, food, health fair, and activities for the whole family, PrideFest has become a great gathering spot for the LGBTQ community and its allies, allowing Kansas City to come together in the name of progress and inclusion. The festival kicks off Friday at Berkley Riverfront Park. Also mentioned in today's episode, it is the final day for the Kansas City Jazz and Heritage Festival. Plus, our friends from Variety are seeking your help - and votes - in getting a grant from Papa John's Pizza. Finally, we take this opportunity to remember those service men and women who have made the ultimate sacrifice for our country. Memorial Day is a time to remember those killed while serving in our armed forces. Thank you to our veterans!

Truta couldn't seem to drag his butt out of bed, so the girls and Joey started #TheShowKC without him. Netflix is analyzing our viewing habits and what we all watch in the morning may surprise you...or not. KC102.1 was nominated for a major award and none of us can afford to buy tickets for the banquet to see if we win. B&B Theatres presents the new movies feature and this week we talk Baywatch and Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales. Truta compares himself to Zac Efron and The Rock. Casi Joy from the Voice joins us in studio to talk about her upcoming tour and performance in Kansas City. Like Truta, she was late getting going because her alarm failed her. We rope Casi into playing the Shazam game, which is Truta's new favorite game show. For a second it appeared as if no one would get anything right. More entertainment news and then Jen and Truta discuss the new Netflix show The Keepers, which is about a nun. Both Jen and Truta went to Catholic school and both either fainted or puked in church. That sounds appetizing. Thank you to all of our active military and the veterans! Happy Memorial Day to you. See you back on June 5th with new live shows.

It's holiday time and Jen is getting ready to go to Florida, except she is frightened of alligators and spiders so we wonder what is she going to do? The remake of Dirty Dancing premiered last night and by all accounts it was awful. We play some clips and relive great moments from the original that should not have been tampered with. Every pet seems to have a trick they can do that's hilarious. We ask for your stupid pet tricks and get cats flushing toilets and scamming dogs. Michael Keaton comes up in the All Access with Shaylee, then it's time for the Whisper Challenge. Will the team of Truta and Joey knock off the undefeated (and cheating) Shaylee and Jen? Shaylee is going to the dirty lake for Memorial Day. The girls wonder if the guys ever used pick-up lines on women...and the lines are so bad there's no way that ever worked. See you tomorrow on #TheShowKC!

Another fun, interactive #TheShowKC today... it's the last day of school for Truta's daughter. The girls were bowled over by last night's surprise ending to Dancing With The Stars finale (spoilers in the audio). A woman got locked IN a CVS store when the workers left without checking to make sure the store was empty. We asked, Where did you get locked in/out? Tons of great calls and texts and stories you have to hear! Shaylee's All Access gave us the latest on Katy Perry vs Taylor Swift. Then, in Gen-X vs Millennial, we reminded ourselves just how few movies Shaylee has seen. This opened up the floodgates. The better part of The Show's second half today was spent on the text line and all of the movies Shaylee needs to see. We have now made a list (available further down on our Facebook page) where you can see Shaylee's "Must See" list for the summer. She is going to report back to us "book report" style to tell us about each film. Enjoy your SHOWcast today!

TheShowKC opens and the kids are bored with summer already, partly because Jen gives them homework over the summer. Say what? Sad news about the explosion at a concert in Manchester, England. We got the latest information about the alleged attackers and the victims. The Tuesday "Impossible Question" was pretty tough. It took numerous tries to get the right answer but we eventually got there. In celebrity news, Dancing with the Stars will end its season tonight with a special finale. Truta and Joey then break down the premiere of the Bachelorette from last night - which wasn't even the best show on TV. First, there was Waboom! guy. Then, there was the dude who was very proud of his, uh, sexual prowess. Shaylee's All Access has the latest scoop on the Cash Me Ousside girl, the beef between Katy Perry and Taylor Swift, and Abby Lee Miller from Dance Moms. Then, it was time to bring on Jorianne, the Coffee Cup Psychic. Jorianne can see the past, present and future through her coffee cup. Jen thought it would be a good idea to apply Jorianne's abilities to find out how Shaylee's new relationship is going. Plus, we take a call with listener Elizabeth who wanted to get some info about her potential move to Vegas for a job. Another round of entertainment news has more sadness as we learn that Roger Moore, the actor who portrayed James Bond in the most number of films, passed away at the age of 89 following a short battle with cancer. The late part of The Show included Jorianne's thoughts about our show and the hunt for the 20 foot Burmese python continues. Have a great day...enjoy!

All you need to know about today's #TheShowKC is that it was everything disposable about society. First, Jen had to suffer through the Chainsmokers in last night's Billboard Music Awards. This riles up Shaylee and led to a big discussion about music. Something we can all agree on was that Jen cries a lot and no one was surprised she shed a tear over Titanic...the movie. A new season of The Bachelorette premieres tonight, so we revisit past stupidity from the show by using direct quotes from old Bachelor/Bachelorette shows for The Accent Game. Some thing sound even worse in pirate voice! Also, what word(s) would you banish from everyday speech? BAE? Turnt? Lit? Awesome? Those and more in today's Show. Enjoy!

Friday's #TheShowKC involved Shaylee being late and having to buy a round of S***bucks for everybody. We got an update from our friend Elliot who continues to have the worst week ever! Alien: Covenant and Diary of a Wimpy Kid are the new movies out this week in our B&B At The Movies segment. We once again play the Whisper Challenge and find out if Shaylee stays undefeated in the game. Our buddy AJ Finney stops by to talk hail, storms and Boston cops. Find him at Stanford's this weekend. And we end with #AllTheFeels and some good news!

Good day on #TheShowKC to talk about the good things in life. We explore #blessed and the things you are thankful for. All of this in the face of tragedy as Soundgarden's Chris Cornell was found dead early this morning in news that hit us all. We got to talking about high school pranks once again and Jen remembered something that happened at her high school. Funny enough, the guy who orchestrated the prank was listening and called in!!!

Hump Day at #TheShowKC. Shaylee and Truta were both attacked by birds while coming into the office today. Jen hit a snake. Our record with wildlife is not good right now. The big story is this guy who is suing his date for texting through a movie. She eventually ghosted on the guy and he wants his $17.31 back. We looked to you for the worst date stories and Mallory came though. Then we got caught up in who would play each cast member of The Show if they were to make a movie about us. Truta wants Jimmy Kimmel. We all think comedian Reggie Watts would play a great Joey. Check out our Facebook page for the pictures and see what you think. Great day on The Show! See you tomorrow!

Fun #TheShowKC today as we head into summer...first, it finally got warm enough for Jen to turn her air conditioner on. Check out the similarities between a commencement speech Trump gave and Elle's from Legally Blonde. There was a Dancing with the Stars SHOCKER! Oh no! We get into the situation of NFL cornerback Antonio Cromartie who has 14 kids -- and we're trying to figure out how, who, why...what? Plus, four of these kids came after Cromartie had a vasectomy! Huh? We got into a discussion of which listener had the most kids in their family. Listen to hear the big winner! We get more William Hung in Shaylee's All Access...plus, she can't say "amicably." (Is that how it's spelled??) Royals catcher Drew Butera joined us next, to talk about his charity appearance Wednesday at Three Dog Bakery on the Plaza. Drew will be selling special edition Charlie Hustle shirts to benefit the Angel Fund and Variety of KC, in honor of his friend's wife who is battling breast cancer. Next, it's a game of "Where'd We Get Kicked Out Of" to get Mike some Jazz Fest tickets. We end the show with more celeb news, fidget spinners and the celebrity death hoax involving Avril Lavigne. See you tomorrow!

A good, random Tuesday on #TheShowKC...first, it's a purse, with a "party pouch" inside. Perfect for Mom's Day or the concert-goer in your life, the "wine purse" can hide up to two bottles of wine in a flexible bladder placed inside a decorative handbag. Never have to buy liquor at the concession stand price again! Then, we ask - how did you crack your phone screen? Finally, it's a return to our new favorite game, the Whisper Challenge. Enjoy!

A random #TheShowKC for a rainy Monday... first, Shaylee was in New York for a special trip to interview some movie stars, which we'll hear about later in the week. Truta DJ'd a Prom - and forgot his suit. From Entertainment News, Kelly Ripa gets a co-host (Seacrest, spoiler alert!), April the Giraffe's baby gets a name, and you get some cheap concert tickets. Vince called in with a story from Comicon. Turns out he found some money, turned it in like any honest person, and was rewarded with some time hanging out with Ron Perlman. Awesome! He even snuck in some beer for Ron to enjoy as well. Then, we got the text of the year. A random texter asked if Shaylee wanted to go on a date over chips and salsa to talk about One Direction. Of course her interest was piqued, so we called this guy up. Turns out he met Shaylee in the chip aisle at the grocery store this past week. Jen and Truta give him a grilling and we'll see what happens now... til another day!

Stefan White joins us - with lightsaber in hand - to discuss the battle and how a love for a movie universe can help fight CF. In the second half of the show, Matthew J. So it's rainy this weekend and you're missing #TheShowKC, right? Well, don't worry. Here's a little extra special package of some of the best stuff we've done over the past week or so that hasn't made the SHOWcast yet! We start off with great celebrity run-ins...when Producer Joey stumbled upon Royals legend Frank White at an event we had to know: what's your celebrity meeting story? We got everyone from Andre the Giant to Kevin Costner. Then, we talk Sharknado 5 with actress Tara Reid, who is in town this weekend at Planet Comicon. The next movie in the Sharknado series makes its debut this August. Last week both Truta and Shaylee the Millennial began watching 13 Reasons Why, the new Netflix series that discusses teen suicide, bullying, sexual assault and other important themes. While a bit heavy, we do believe it is time we started discussing these themes more openly in this country. That includes mental health and mental illness. We do want to pass this along: the number of the national suicide hotline for those who may have these thoughts and feelings you can talk to someone at 800-273-8255 (TALK). Truta and Shaylee reviewed the show and we talked about the letter some school districts are sending home that says parents should monitors kids who watch the series in case it romanticizes suicide. We took some listener calls and then we decided to go for the happy. People started to call in with the good things happening to them. And that's a great place to end our show. See you Monday!

The second day of the week and Shayles was a little tired this morning after a #MargaritaMonday out. We compare sugars in the Unicorn Frappucino and other drinks. 10 Items or Less was pretty bleak, with attempted abductions, the Royals score and whatnot. There was a huge shake-up on Dancing With The Stars last night. American Ninja Warrior is taping in Kansas City this week and today we chat with host Kristine Leahy. She chats us up about BBQ, the contestants and the Chiefs 2017-18 schedule. Listen for her prediction for this year...hopefully we're playing it back in February. After a successful first run the Whisper Game is back. This time with more guesses and some terrible play on Truta's part. Shaylee takes us behind the scenes with All Access. Truta's daughter lost her iPod and he's teetering on the edge of buying another one. There's still hope someone either found it or took it and may return it. Although Rick Conkling has a story about finding an iPhone in Overland Park, taking it home before he returned it and being charged with a crime!!! OP police cited him for taking misplaced property. BOGUS! No one will ever do a good deed ever again after that. With more NASCAR tickets to give away we bring back Trick or Trending. And that's #TheShowKC for the day. See you tomorrow!

What a start to the week on #TheShowKC... first off, after only 9 days, Truta had to come in and admit this morning that Adi had lost her iPod over the weekend. She left it at Walmart. For those catching up, she wanted a phone for her (7th) birthday and got an iPod instead. Well, that didn't turn out so hot. After the entertainment news we play our first game of the day for NASCAR tickets: the good old Accent Game. Then, Matt Iseman @mattiseman - host of American Ninja Warrior, winner of this year's Celebrity Apprentice, Doctor, and all around good guy - called in to chat Am Ninja Warrior, which is taping in Kansas City this week. Go see it if you get the chance! Finally, one of the greatest new things we've tried - the Whisper Challenge. You HAVE to check it out...this is comedy gold! Enjoy your Monday!

Remember, money raised goes to @ChildrensMercy Hospital right here in Kansas City. Plus, we get #AllTheFeels with Donald Carter. This former KC cop started a GoFundMe account to help Shajuana Mays, a Popeye's chicken worker, get her nursing degree. Donald's act of paying it forward has made national news and we brought him in to talk about the effect this has had on Shajuana and the surrounding community. #TheShowKC

Fun #TheShowKC today! First, Truta's better half celebrated her birthday yesterday and he made dinner. When Jen and Shaylee pressed Truta on what he made he was very proud of spaghetti. According to him, it was the first time he'd ever made spaghetti. Well, that got Jen. She felt like EVERYONE should know how to cook spaghetti. And it got worse when Truta admitted he learned how to cook from YouTube. He's not alone - check out the things our listeners learned from a video. We chat with film director Morgan Dameron, a Pembroke Hill grad, who is about to release her first film, Different Flowers. Catch the premiere during the KC Film Fest on April 8th. We get a good game of Gen X vs Millennial in. Then it's all snaked and spiders and creepy-crawlies! Yuck! Finally, Tori from KC Pet Project comes in to tell us why Kansas City, Missouri voters need to vote YES on Question 3 next week. Voting yes will help KC Pet Project build a new, updated shelter to help the 10,000+ animals they assist each year.

It's been such a fun, exhausting week on #TheShowKC we decided to wrap a bunch of the best stuff up in one big package! First, his fan club was out in full force to listen for the latest from KC's very own American Idol, David Cook! @thedavidcook talked to Jen and Truta about working on new music, the Royals, the Big Slick charity event and more! Then, we get into a story from Ellen DeGeneres about the strange way she broke her finger...let's just say it involved wine and a door. That lead us into the strange ways we've all injured ourselves. Just wait until you hear these stories! Early in the week, the news was dominated by a huge fire that devastated a large apartment complex under construction as well as many houses in the adjacent neighborhood. Kim lives in one of the homes that back up to the site and was blessed to have her house spared by the fire. She related to us her experience in finding out about the fire and how the neighborhood is recovering. Finally, it was the interview that blew up our social media...Casi Joy @casijoymusic from Smithville is a contestant on this season's edition of The Voice on NBC. we spend some time getting to know Casi - her favorite music, TV shows, and would she ever eat a cake that a fan made for her? With days to go before the 2017 home opener, #TheShowKC caught up in studio with midfielder Roger Espinoza. Roger gave us some insight on his daily routine, how he gets pumped up for games and even threw Ike Opara under the bus for "dirtying up" their corner of the locker room....oh! Drama! #SKC

Severe weather struck the Kansas City area Monday night, bringing hail, severe rain and tornadoes that caused destruction across parts of Oak Grove, Grain Valley and Odessa. #TheShowKC talked with some listeners this morning who had damage at their house or lost power. Jen's Impossible Question for the day taught us something about Truta and his dog that we didn't necessarily need to find out. Jen has become a huge fan of Chance the Rapper - but can't name a song he sings...or raps....or whatever. We get the scoop on your storm experiences from last night. One woman's friend used the hail as ice for his whiskey. Hey, whatever works! We talk to Erin Dietrich, who made a parody video of April the Giraffe. Erin is 39 weeks pregnant and got 25 million (!) views of her parading her pregnant belly around her bedroom while wearing a giraffe head. Then, we get an update on the REAL April from Jordan Patch, owner of Animal Adventure park. He promises April will give birth soon! Next, we have an embarrassment of riches in our prize closet, so we did some deals and gave away entries to the Big 12 Fun Run, passes to the KC1021 screening of Beauty and the Beast or a hyper-chiller. More entertainment news, this time about Jimmy Buffet's retirement community. Finally, we chat with Smithville's own @casijoymusic Casi Joy! Casi wowed the judges on NBC's #TheVoice, and ended up on #TeamBlake with Blake Shelton. (Starts at 33:45 mark)

Just of the best bits of #TheShowKC from the past couple of days. April the giraffe has taken the online world by storm, with probably millions of people glued to a live webcam of a giraffe about to give birth. For the scoop we go straight to Animal Adventure Park owner Jordan Patch, who fills us in about the birthing process and when we can expect things to happen. Of course, that didn't stop the gang from starting a pool to guess when the baby would be born. Then we go live to the French Quarter in New Orleans for the dirt on Mardi Gras and Fat Tuesday thanks to Jen's friend Jeff. Learn all about the parades, the crews and the fun. Next, we all know someone with a last name that invites butchering (hey, Truta anyone??). We asked you all with crazy last names to call in and spell it as we try to pronounce it. We all learned a good lesson this morning! The new cast of Dancing With The Stars was revealed this morning and we break down the lineup and give odds to each. The girls are hoping there is no phone punishment this year in our DWTS pool. In a follow up to our giraffe talk, we talk to our listener winner of the birth pool. Good day!

A day all about our biggest mistakes on #TheShowKC. After a relatively fun, kinda ho-hum 3 1/2 hours of Oscars, the Academy sure knew how to kick things up a notch in the adrenaline department! Warren Beatty and Faye Dunaway announced La La Land as winner of Best Picture...only problem is, Moonlight was the actual top dog. Oopsie! We deconstruct all of the conspiracy theories and possibilities as to how this could happen. Plenty of Oscar audio for those who went to bed early. Then, we ask you - what was your worst mistake on the job? There's Cindy who set off a tornado siren, James who put his foot in his mouth over a one-armed customer...and many more! Plus, The Show gang share their worst moments, too. Julie Jordan, the west coast editor of People Magazine joined us to talk Oscars as well the passing of Bill Paxton and Judge Wapner. We get an update on April the giraffe and the birth of Giraffey McGirrafeFace. Listener Thea uses the Open Mic section of our app to tell us how scared she was of the new Planet Earth series. And we award our first finalist of the new Treehouse Getaway. What a morning! Enjoy!

Jen found a statistic that 70% of people have loaned money to a friend or family member, but only a select percentage of those would do it again. So, The Show Wants To Know: what did you borrow and what became of it? Or what did you loan to someone and never got back. Marc Malkin from E! News came on to talk about this weekend's Oscars. Listen as we chat about Jimmy Kimmel as host, the chances for La La Land to take Best Picture, fashion, politics and more! We love having @marcmalkin on! Finally, on the heels of Burger King buying Popeye's chicken, Truta throws out a survey to the gang about the top fast food restaurants of all time. You may be surprised to hear what's #1!

From #TheShowKC for Wednesday: Truta's kid got the sickness he had last week. We deconstruct a story about Kid Rock becoming a senator from Michigan and find out it's just fake news. We discover that nobody uses their gym bag. Shaylee was the only one on The Show who watched This Is Us last night and she is dying to talk about it. We try to play Password with Chris for JoJo tickets but he isn't successful. Talk turns to things you've seen while driving...and it's everything from picking their nose to playing the flute. Shaylee surprises us once again during Gen-X vs Millennial for knowing a movie we didn't think she'd ever get. Truta is captivated by Alex Trebek rapping the Panda song. Have a great (warm) day!

President's Day edition of #TheShowKC: the warm weather has us all sleeping outside, baring arms and legs and in a general good mood. 10 Items or less with the latest Trumpster fire, NBA All-Star foolishness and YouTube ads. Jen's impossible question led us into a bigger discussion about doing your own dental work. After Entertainment News we took calls from people who have done their own stitches, pulled their own teeth, or basically performed surgery on themselves. We give away tickets to JoJo at Liberty Hall in Lawrence with a round of "What Made Us Cry." We all have weird OCD quirks - Jen's usually has to do with the number of social media followers we have. We run through some of yours including fronting and facing your cabinets, needing all numbers to be even and arranging closets by color. Crazy!!

From #TheShowKC today: kids are out of school all over the place and the weather is supposed to be gorgeous this weekend. Trump gave a weird, rambling press conference yesterday...we have highlights (lowlights?). Trying to figure the most unattractive part of a spouse's body in Jen's Impossible Question. The most mind blowing fact came in the Entertainment News, when Jen told us that Nicole Kidman almost married Lenny Kravitz! What??? Where did that come from? We talk scams after an Overland Park man gave nearly $200k to a girlfriend in Salina, KS. A few listeners reported the scams that have been after their paychecks. Listener Kelly called to give us our daily dose of Wooota Gotobed! You just have to listen for that one. We play The Accent Game to give a winner some Lady Gaga tickets. Then, comedian @Adam_Newman stopped in to talk about this new special, Fuzzies, a funny name HE found in his dad's yearbook, mascots, facing your fears and more! May contain adult language

On today's #TheShowKC: Truta is finally about to kick this whole sickness thing. Jen is old, but not as old as Shaylee thinks she is. Sad story about BV coach Eric Driskell. Our hearts go out to his family. We get to Jen's Impossible Question and a discussion about mall-walking broke out. Truta gets schooled on Oskaloosa. There will not be a presidential bracket for the NCAA tournament this year - Trump does not have confidence in his prognostication abilities. We get into a discussion of funny names. Jen went to school with a guy named Sam Francisco, which is about the greatest name ever. This opened the floodgates: Richard Sweat (get it?), Harry Pitts, Harry Johnson...there were oh so many! We play a round of Gaga or Trump? Listeners had to guess if the quote given was said by Lady Gaga or President Trump. Enjoy the show!

Action packed @TheShowKC today! We are all looking forward to the Super Bowl and Lady Gaga's performance. But first, let us all remember the Bowling Green Massacre. It was almost as bad as the Louisburg Cider Spill and the Great Ice Miss of just a few weeks ago. #PourOneOut Beyonce's pregnancy news continues to delight people. Truta finds out that Jen and Shaylee are scared of just the AUDIO from the new Rings movie. We announce our new big flyaway: a trip to baseball spring training in Surprise, Arizona!! Qualifying begins Monday, Feb 6th. To piggyback, we talk with rookie Royals third baseman/outfielder Hunter Dozier., who gave us the scoop on what spring training is like, how it felt to be called up to the big leagues, and the mood of the team following the loss of Yordano Ventura. We play a round of "Who Hates What" to try and figure which cast member of The Show hates: pickles, peeps, needles or Scott Disick. A real off-air conversation went live as we try and determine who plays with their phone in the bathroom. Truta reads Facebook, emails and even watches Netflix while on the toilet. The girls can't even think about that. Must be a guy thing. We got a visit from Stuttering John Melendez. John worked for many years on the Howard Stern show, accosting celebrities with crazy questions. He then became the studio announcer for The Tonight Show with Jay Leno for a decade. See him this weekend at Stanford's. Finally, we make our Super Bowl predictions. Have a good weekend! See you Monday!

It's Groundhog Day on #TheShowKC! Will Phil the Groundhog see his shadow? We got the answer pretty early on The Show that, yes, there will be six more weeks of winter. Boo. By the way, East Coasters are so bad they even booed the groundhog. Sad! An impossible question about New Year's resolutions. Beyonce is pregnant, which is awesome, but her picture that accompanied the announcement was downright weird! Lyle Randal from Wichita won tickets to the Super Bowl - for life! - just for finding a golden can of Bud Light in a beer case! We talk to Lyle about his trip to Houston. Jen has found some amazing free stuff on Craiglist and we look through some of them. We play our favorite - the Accent Game - for tickets to see John Mayer and once again things get out of hand with the helium. The actor/comedian Dave Koechner called in to talk about his new sitcom, Superior Donuts, airing tonight on CBS. He also chatted us up about the Chiefs, his family and the Big Slick charity event in KC this summer. Finally, we get a round of trick or trending. Big giveaway announcement Friday at 7:10am. See you there!

Shaylee came in with a cold; Truta's kid doesn't like to wear pants; Jen's kids are selling art for cheap. Jen's impossible question deals with the Big Game coming up this Sunday. There are a few artists skipping the Grammys this year - Drake, Kanye and Justin Bieber. Will anyone miss them? The Bachelor was as good as ever. A new survey says ONLY 38% of women consider their husband sexy; ladies called to answer this: My husband is sexy when he _______. The Hillary Clinton body double has a lot of time on her hands. Another survey says 37% of married women regret taking their husbands' last name. We got calls from some of the more embarrassing new names after marriage. One of our new shows to watch is Tattoo Girls on TLC. It focuses on the Ink Ink shop in Springfield, Missouri, owned by Kelsey, whom we talked to on The Show. Listen as she talks about playing Mom to the girls in the store, how she got into tattoos and the things she won't do on someone's body. We have John Mayer tickets and handed those out with a nice round of Trick or Trending. Truta wants to be the assistant to a young, hot actress who needs oiled up. Then we talk to Blake Hawkins, a high school senior from Valley Center who engineered a soda vending machine inside his locker. While it was eventually taken down by school administration, this kid has a bright future in engineering. There's another #TheShowKC!

Shaylee is back from hanging out with her celebrity boyfriend (whom she will still not name) and she is still not a golf analyst. John Mayer is coming to Sprint Center in April and we have tickets before you can buy them. The SAG Awards were last night and there were all sorts of awesome speeches. It is Super Bowl week...we love the prop bets! Joel Goedken and his family appear on a new episode of Family Feud (airing 1/30 at 3:30p on FOX 4). Joel came in to talk about the process of auditioning, Steve Harvey, and more. We also got Joel to stick around and play a round of the Accent Game with us as well. Very big news dropped over the weekend...Hamilton is coming to Kansas City! In a few years...and it will be a tougher ticket than Bruno Mars! Truta's already planning a body part to sell. #TheShowKC this week is qualifying listeners for a Branson getaway to the Chateau on the Lake resort and spa. You HAVE to check out the website -- it's an amazing place! We asked listeners for some tales of Valentine's gone wrong so that we could grant them some V-Day redemption. We'll have more all weekend. Thanks for listening!

Fun day on #TheShowKC: it's a Shaylee-free day as she is "on assignment" in San Diego with her celebrity boyfriend. Truta saw "A Dog's Purpose" last night with Adi and pretty much cried his eyes out while the 6 year old asked him to pass the Snickers. On the heels of their record-tying Oscar nominations, Jen found us someone from La La Land to talk to - he's the guy credited as "Coffee Spiller." This will be followed by the craft services girl from "Hidden Figures" and the boom mic operator from "Fences." Eric the Security Guard told us that his ex sent him a birthday text this morning, leading us to ask Who is Friends with Their Ex? Good stories. Since Shaylee isn't here we pulled in new producer Joey to play (don't tell Shaylee, but he knows a BUNCH more). There's a new commercial that says real men play with Barbies, encouraging dads to play girly stuff with their daughters. Truta's daughter just likes to play Firehouse Subs. Don't ask. Finally, singer Natasha Bedingfield called in to The Show, talking about her July 3rd concert with Train at Starlight Theater. She also talked big booties, failed selfies and writing a song as a birthday present.

Busy #TheShowKC again today: tributes to Royals ace Yordano Ventura go on as he is laid to rest in the Dominican Republic today. Jen catches up on the latest Trump news. We find out surgeons are better at their jobs after playing video games. Oscar nominations are today. Last night's Bachelor was as dumb as ever, although Corrine is growing on Truta. Jen asked Eric the Security Guard some questions - listeners had to guess his answers to win Train tickets. After the live nominations, The Show goes over the Oscars...who's up and who got snubbed? Buddy Valastro, known as the Cake Boss, calls in to chat up his new show Bakers vs Fakers, which premieres Wed night on Food Network. You guys are starting to use the Open Mic function on our app to send messages. Lori wants to know about Shaylee's celebrity boyfriend. Just another day on The Show!

A somber #TheShowKC today, after the news broke on Sunday that Royals pitcher Yordano Ventura had been involved in a fatal car crash in the Dominican Republic. After thoughts from the crew, Royals VP/Public Relations Toby Cook called in to share his thoughts on the young ace, the plans for this weekend's Fan Fest, and the ongoing tributes to this rising star. Then, Jill Meyer called us to tell us about her daughter Amelia. The day before her 9th birthday, Amelia had a photo shoot with Yordano as part of a charity calendar. Just a couple of years before, Amelia had been diagnosed with brain cancer. Her meeting with the "Ace" was a happy one and the two bonded. Amelia passed away in October last year and Yordano this weekend. A baseball signed by the pitcher is just part of the tangible memories her mom Jill has. And now, you can actually see the results of that day as Amelia and Yordano's picture is the January pic of the Braden's Hope calendar. Find out more at BradensHope.org.

From #TheShowKC today: a young man was doing some temporary work for a company and was supposed to be paid $200, but a bank error put $20,000 in his account. He didn't tell anybody, spent the money on drugs and a Playstation, and is now going to jail. When was a time you were overpaid? Did you fess up? Then, a cocky Dallas Cowboys fan got a huge star tattoo with Super Bowl 51 around it. And yet, unfortunately, if you remember, Dallas got knocked out of the playoffs last week. What tattoo do you regret? Then, for some reason, the girls thought it funny to make Truta get an MU tattoo. NO WAY! Finally, the Accent Game is back...will today's caller understand the crew and their crazy sayings?

From #TheShowKC today: Jen came across more weird dating sites and we asked listener Kim whether they were real or not. Then, a buddy of Truta's feels like he lost the playoffs for the Cowboys since he did not sit in his lucky spot during the game. What sports superstitions do you have? Listener Teresa plays Gen X vs Millennial and send Shaylee to school once again. Jen found a study that says getting the names of your kid and dog confused is actually a good thing and means you love them both! We have another stirring round of The Accent Game that Truta pretty much ruined up and down. Lady Gaga is going to play Super Bowl 51 and we break down things that could happen during her performance including her coming out in character, singing from the roof or bashing Trump. Enjoy!

Also on today's show...Patriot's head coach Bill Belichick does not know anything about social media. Is it SnapFace? Insta(nt)Chat? GramBook? The Show plays our new game: Accents! Finally, Alex Saxon is a local guy from Liberty, MO who stars in the new Netflix movie, Coin Heist. Check him out right now!

Tamara tells us all about her skills in remodeling and furniture rehabbing, and even helps some listeners hone their skills. Josh Denny, the host of Food Network's "Ginormous Food" called in to chat up the new episode. Josh travels all around and gets to try things like the 19 pound gyro sandwich or the 30 pound stack of waffles. And Truta is fascinated by a recap of The Bachelor so much he has to hear the audio which....is pretty awful.

Mariah's ex weighs in on her NYE performance. Comedian Will C (Modern Family) called in pump up his Cancer Sucks comedy benefit this Sunday at the KC Improv in Zona Rosa. See 12 comedians for $20! More jokes about KU-KState and why Truta's daughter is obsessed with the Wildcats; Truta is OK with KState more than if she like Mizzou. Guys are more likely to get their partner to drink than women. Woman finds 4 foot anaconda in her toilet. Jacqui shaved her head to show solidarity with her sister, who has a brain tumor; this is the best, most beautiful, loving thing we've seen in a long time! Incredible day...thanks for being here.

From today's #TheShowKC: Truta feels like The Fugitive because he's been driving around with expired tags. KU's win over K-State didn't come without controversy...it's like the Hawks walked into this one (duh duh, ching!). Making new year's babies. More on Mariah Carey's NYE meltdown. Evan and Randy are the makers of a new app called Ziyak which will give you a list of events, happenings and specials from all over Kansas City and 200 other cities! Download it starting January 14th from the app store and Google Play. Did you see the video of the toddler who was saved by his brother after a dresser fell on top of him? Naturally, Truta has been injured by furniture. We play the first edition of Gen-X vs Millennial for 2017...and Shaylee still doesn't know stuff! Does your fiancee's credit report affect whether you'll marry them? What were you grounded for? We love the Congressman's kid who was grounded for dabbing during dad's swearing in ceremony. We remember the UMB Bank Time and Temperature line (844-any four numbers) and the party line it became after the recording. Jen's dad called in after she revealed stuff she did that would have gotten her grounded. More KU-K-State jokes. All in a day's Show!

Welcome to a new year of #TheShowKC! The gang was ready to fire after a nice, long vacation from the air. The #Chiefs are going to the Playoffs! Not only that, but we get a first round bye and get to play at Arrowhead! Happy New Year to all. The Show discussed Mariah Carey's meltdown during the New Year's Rockin' Eve show. Carey's camp maintains her monitors did not work, which did not allow her to hear the songs playing and thus did not allow her to perform. The producers said it was Carey's lack of preparation which led to the lackluster performance. Either way, Truta found out there was an alternate New Year's universe where Pitbull, Coolio, Snoop Dogg and Biz Markie shared a stage. Whaa??? We check in with listener Kimberly who was about ready to pop out a baby before The Show's live Christmas party. She finally had little Molly Noel this past week. Mom and baby are doing great! Our friend Andrew Carter from @KCTV5 stopped by to talk about his big holiday news: he got engaged! As with any complex plan, there was the requisite amount of improv to go along with it. Plus, Andrew stayed on to talk about the Chiefs playoff chances as well as a little college basketball. Sticking with the Chiefs topic, there's a guy who bought Super Bowl tickets back before the season began, not knowing if the Chiefs would even get close. John Michaels chatted us up about why he bought seats so early and his plans for Houston. More Mariah Carey talk and we school Shaylee on exactly who is Biz Markie. Truta's lady is mad that Channel 9 and DirecTV is fighting and is ready to change TV providers. This led Truta to miss The Bachelor (not that he's sad about that). Just another day on The Show! Welcome to 2017.

What a #TheShowKC today! Our morning had to begin with the sad news that TV star, actor, writer, singer, composer Alan Thicke had passed away the previous night. The gang had good memories of the show Growing Pains and Truta even got to interview Thicke one time in Hollywood. Jen and Truta got to see Rogue One on Monday and had some spoiler-free thoughts about it. Then the subject turned to tipping. There is a Facebook post going around that comes from a man who says you will receive the best service ever if you just put 5 dollar bills on the table before you eat, signalling the tip. Then, if anything goes wrong with the wait staff, you deduct a dollar for each mistake, with the money left on table acting as the final tip. We asked you, what do you think of that as a tipping practice? Then, the Holiday Tipping Guide came out and we ran down the people to whom you should be giving a "Christmas bonus." Listen and find out how much your hairdresser is going to make this holiday! We get in a game of Getting To Know You where we talk tattoos. Of course Shaylee had a celebrity design hers. Yesterday Shaylee told us that the security guard at our building offered her "Molly" (aka - drugs). Today we found out it was a big miscommunication and a total "Who's On First" situation. We end on a great game of Gen-X vs Millennial with Vicki.

Then, Jen mentions the letter and package The Show received on Friday. A woman knew we had been looking for a Hatchimal and sent one along with a note to give it to a friend. Jen, Truta and Shaylee decided to give it to one our hundreds of thousands of friends. In the second half of the show, filmmaker Rob Lehr talks about his documentary, Thunderdome, screening today at Screenland Armour as part of the Arts and Crafts Festival. Lehr was involved in a plane crash that caused him to suffer from PTSD. He turned to painting and then nerf gun fights to deal with his depression and pain. In his backyard he built the Thunderdome - a nerf fighting arena with obstacles, sniper towers and more. Learn about the man behind the movie in today's KC Closeup.

What state has the fastest speed limits? Whatever it is, you don't want to speed through Iowa. Kansas City, MO Mayor Sly James joined us in studio for a full half hour to talk about the Mayor's Christmas Tree and the Fund to help our neighbors. We also chatted about football, the streetcar, becoming a nice society, what's ahead for KC and how never gets to go to the movies. First off, sorry for being so erratic. Technical difficulties at the KC1021 Broadcasting Compound have made the SHOWcast a lot harder to produce lately. Engineers are working 'round the clock on the problem. Nevertheless, we press on to bring you some of the best bits of #TheShowKC over the past couple of days. First, we chat with TV and movie star - and now, singing sensation - Jane Lynch (Glee, Best In Show, et al) who previews her new Christmas song: Winter's Never Cold (When You're Around). Jen and Truta have a lot of reasons to be competitive this weekend. Truta's Bishop Miege Stags take on the Basehor Bobcats who are coached by Jen's dad. PLUS Truta faces Jen in the office fantasy football league. Truta gets called immature at home because he uses a spoon all of the time. His lady tells him that only children eat with spoons. The Show chats with Kindra Brown, a KC Wedding planner/consultant, about holiday engagements. Walmart manager Matt Cable comes in to talk about the hot toys for Christmas 2016, throw out some tips for Black Friday shopping and delivers TWO Hatchimals to The Show that you can win right now by registering at KC1021.com. KCK Mayor Mark Holland stopped in the studio to talk about the Kansas City, Kansas holiday lighting ceremony. The girls try a new holiday cookie dough beer and share drinking stories. George Guastello, the CEO of Union Station, dropped in to talk about Christmas at Union Station and their big tree lighting ceremony taking place Saturday evening (Nov 19th).

From #TheShowKC: the messages are coming in fast and furious with people wanting Truta to start the Christmas music. But he's a big ol'Scrooge. There have been some big concert announcements lately. First we told you about Bruno Mars coming to Sprint Center next August along with Ellie Goulding. That is now officially the Truta birthday concert. Jen was visiting a friend in the hospital and her cell phone went off...loudly! And this was after she had downloaded the Hershey's Kisses Christmas commercial. We ask, in what embarrassing place has your phone gone off? Truta loves the David Blaine special while Jen could not care less. We play a round of Trick or Trending for the Bruno tickets. Avery Schlereth is one of the final four on the Catching Kelce reality show. Jen tries to dig in an find out if she is the one dating Kelce. The Rock was named the Sexiest Man Alive (Truta was 2nd). And the Penny Pinching Mom comes back set us up for Black Friday and give us the low down on the big deals coming up. And we preview a great upcoming week on The Show!

To all those who have served so that we may be free to do #TheShowKC..Happy Veterans Day! Jen has a mission for Shaylee. What could it possibly be? After the girls threw Truta some nice compliments yesterday, he and Shaylee felt like Jen should be made to feel good today. Jen sends Shaylee to track down the new Nintendo NES Classic -- except that no one has it! The messages we've been receiving about the playing of Christmas music (or not) have been hilarious. Truta reads some on the air, including the woman who thinks he hates Christmas. Comedian Dante came by to talk about the latest films he's been working on and do his famed Wizard of Oz impression. All in a Friday! Enjoy your weekend!

From #TheShowKC on Thursday: Shaylee had a date last night. We find out how that goes. Today is another Throwback Throwdown segment where listeners can vote by text for their favorite #TBT song to be played at 8:45. We try to find out if there is hidden meaning in Shaylee's choice. Truta can not say the date and time correctly. Jen fell asleep yesterday before picking up her kids and then forgot to pick them up from school. Luckily her friend was around and took care of the girls, but we wanted to know: who has forgotten their kids or been forgotten by parents? Turns out there are some great stories! With two girls and just one guy on the show, Truta sometimes feels ganged-up on (say what?). Since yesterday was a time to compliment Shaylee, the girls gave Truta some love today. There is drama around the Throwback Throwdown...will the listeners' votes mirror that of the election? Find out!!!

From #TheShowKC: The post-election daze. We'll try to entertain you and make you forget about it! Shaylee has a first date with her new man tonight. Where do you take first dates? A listener called up and suggested the Nelson Atkins Museum -- great! Then we had Brandon on the phone. Brandon has been dropping $100-300 PER DATE for a bunch of women who eventually ghost on him! Hear Brandon's story and then hear about the girls who want to get hooked up with him. He's dropping cash on helicopter rides, Plaza III dinners...Truta wants to date him! Listener Eric calls up to play Gen-X vs Millennial. We award tickets in the third row to TSO. There is almost a fire in our building.

It's the #ElectionDay Special(?) on #TheShowKC. Really, there's nothing special. Get out and vote, people. Shaylee voted this morning. There are a lot of freebies to be had if you vote. The Grain Valley Marching Eagles band is performing at the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade and they stopped by to tell us about their trip. Truta HAHA'd a dead dog story on Facebook. Penny Pinching Mom gives us the hot toys of Christmas.

From #TheShowKC...the aftermath of our staff "Girls Night Out" on Friday. Jen loves to watch The Weather Channel with her cat in her down time. The Show chose their winner of the American Music Awards trip to Hollywood and she was our best of all time. Cindy and her husband, Mark, are so excited to go! She can't wait to see Sting. Travis Kelce drew the ire of officials during this weekend's Chiefs game by throwing his towel at the ref. Kelce is known for "hitting the quan" after a touchdown, so Truta attempts this dance move. Later on in the show he even watches a tutorial from YouTube. This doesn't help, but it sure does make good video (make sure to check them out on our Facebook and Twitter pages!). The Cubs visited SNL. Tomorrow is Election Day (thank goodness!). A list of the biggest lies spouses tell each other. The Show wants to do the Mannequin Challenge.

From #TheShowKC on Friday: the Cubs are having their victory parade today and millions of people are expected in Grant Park. The TV ratings are in for the World Series Game 7 and Kansas City had the largest audience outside of Chicago and Cleveland. We really love our baseball here! Shaylee is in early to see comedian Colin Kane. Jen is having trouble with people stealing from her at work. We have a K Cup maker in the studio and Jen lives on her morning coffee. Sometime between Natalie's show last night and 5am today, someone ripped open a new box of K Cup coffees and stole most of them. What have you had stolen from you at work? Great listener calls here. There is all sorts of folklore surrounding the Cubs win in the World Series, some of which made us cry. Truta played audio of a guy who cracked open a beer he'd been saving for 32 years to drink when Chicago won it all. We're sure it was skunky. Also, there are many reports of people predicting the win - a guy in his 1993 yearbook said so - and Truta played audio from a 2015 episode of Parks and Recreation set in the year 2017 where they talk about the Cubs winning the Series. Next, Truta survey time. This morning it was the best cartoon theme songs of all time. Comedian Colin Kane came by and we could play about 52 seconds of his appearance. Shaylee still had to pay up for choosing Ryan Lochte in The Show's Dancing With The Stars draft. There will be a big Chiefs game this weekend and most of the players are out with injuries. It is also the Fall Back weekend - don't forget to reset your clocks. See you Monday!

Cubs win! Cubs win! Cubs win! After an amazing World Series, the Cubbies finally took home the crown! Ben Zobrist was the hero (especially amongst us Kansas Citians) for his game-winning double and was awarded the MVP. We try and reach our sports analyst, Andrew Carter from KCTV 5, but he was probably sleeping somewhere strange after a wild night in Wrigleyville. Everyone on #TheShowKC picked a song for the weekly Throwback Throwdown...and Truta picked the girliest song of everyone! Jen has a couple of the original seats from old Wrigley field. Her husband's family picked them up in the 70's when the club renovated the stadium. What weird stuff do you have in your collection? We got everything from old appliances to an actor's nose (just listen). Shales updates us on her man. Seems like the two have been burning up the text lines. Lindsay Lohan somehow acquired a weird accent. Can Jen or Truta finally break Shaylee's two week hold on the Throwback Throwdown voting? The Show wants to road trip to Chicago for the Cubs victory parade.

From #TheShowKC: the Cubs are playing tonight for all the marbles. It's still too early for Christmas music. Shaylee is walking on air after talking to her new guy. The plotting of Shaylee's non-existent wedding continues. What do we spend 80 minutes per day doing? The Show is really good at this thing, by the way. We attempt to find the couple that went from meeting to wedding the fastest. Listen to find out how Craigslist fit into that. Lauren from Catching Kelce calls in to talk about the new episode showing tonight on E! She fills us in on Travis away from the cameras, while Jen tries to pry information out of her, to no avail. Shaylee plays against a listener in another edition of Gen-X vs Millennial...where she racks up the huge score of zero. Nada. She knows nothing. Various listener e-mails are read about #Christmas music. Opinion is split between those who want us to wait and others who want the station to flip right now. KU basketball started their season last night. Jen and Truta realize that, of the 3 of The Show members, Shaylee has met the most celebrities. She is always backstage meeting some artists.

Happy Halloween from #TheShowKC! Off the top of the show, everyone dazzled in their costumes (just look at the pictures!). There was Truta as Ken Bone, the debate guy. Shaylee was Minnie Mouse AND helped to dress Jen as a large giraffe beanie baby complete with name tag. You will hear early that Jen got so hot she had to take her pants off. Yikes! It was revealed that this would be a day of surprises and the first did not disappoint: we would be talking to the REAL Ken Bone! So, that happened. Plus, we recapped the weekend in Chiefs, World Series watching and what went down at the American Royal. Jen's kids puked in a restaurant, which was already bad, but then she had to drive home in her brand new car! KCTV5 sports reporter Andrew Carter checked in from Chicago, where he's been hanging out with friends and family taking in the World Series. How much does it cost just to go to a Windy City bar these days? Plus, we chat Chiefs and get into the twitter war between Alex Smith's wife and weatherman Gary Lezak. Finally, in a not so good Halloween surprise, David from the KC Zoo is back with another creepy crawly: a tarantula!! Just watch the Facebook Live video on this one, people! Ugh! Happy trick or treating! Don't forget our Halloween Spooktacular at 6p!

A random Friday on #TheShowKC! Truta wants to skip out on the American Royal to watch the Cubs first World Series game inside Wrigley Field for more than 70 years. Halloween is coming up and Shaylee is making Jen a costume. We get the follow up from Shaylee's dating game...has contact been made between Shales and her match? After playing Michael Jackson's "Human Nature" the crew discuss various songs that sampled the tune, including SWV's "Right Now." Where is SWV now? The new KC102.1 Flyaway to the AMA's is announced. Become an instant finalist five times a day beginning Halloween morning. One grand prize winner gets a VIP trip to the American Music Awards live from Hollywood on Nov. 20th. Jen has fun discussing Shaylee's non-existent wedding, reception and baby names. Truta's theory that the Facebook marketplace is only for voyeurs gets a boost during Halloween week as a lot of "sexy" costumes have been advertised -- complete with pictures of their current owner in them. Also, the question is asked: how many holiday inflatables in the yard is too many? Finally, Christina from @KCParent comes on to talk about the family activities taking place this weekend. It will be 82 and sunny out, so it will be perfect weather for an outing! Go Chiefs! Go Cubs! See you Monday for The Show's Halloween Party!

There are some other things including the Halloween-themed Throwback Throwdown and whatnot, but you came for the dating game and you're staying for the other stuff. Admit it. And enjoy...

From #TheShowKC: It doesn't feel like fall. Truta voted early but refrained from taking a ballot selfie, unlike Justin Timberlake. Jen and Truta try to get Shaylee to bring them breakfast. The Cubs lost Game 1 of the World Series in a blowout to the Indians. There's another try tonight. The girls are still trying to figure out their Halloween costumes. Listeners chime in with the worst Halloween candy. Truta maintains it is candy corn, but we add plenty others to the list. Does Truta sound anything like the Buffalo Bill guy from Silence of the Lambs? He thinks he does, the girls just think he sounds creepy. Listener Kathy plays Gen-X vs Millennial and wins 2000-5. Shaylee obviously has a lot of work to do. Tomorrow is the Shaylee dating game. And Cedric Yarbrough, who plays Kenneth on Speechless, called in to talk about tonight's Halloween episode on @ABCTV.

From Tuesday's #TheShowKC: The World Series begins Tuesday night in Cleveland. Everyone is getting ready for the Shaylee Dating Game on Thursday. There is much to prepare: if you have a question you would like us to ask of the Bachelors, tweet/FB comment/text or send e-mail to: theshow@kc1021.com Usually things never work out when friends set you up with a date. The Show Wants To Know...what were your set-up horror stories? Turns out, we actually got a happy story of a couple that's been together 20 years. We had to get into Halloween and find out the top costumes of the year. Anna from the National Retail Federation let us in on all of the holiday scoop. Finally, a friend of ours on Facebook posted a story about her kid talking about a man she sees in her room at night. A "bad man." We opened up the lines for kid ghost stories...and freaked ourselves out in the process. Just listen!

From Monday's #TheShowKC: congratulations to the Cubs, going to the World Series for the first time since 1945. Did you hear Scottie Pippen sing an awful version of Take Me Out To The Ballgame? KC has some playoff contenders...Sporting KC plays Seattle in round 1 on Thursday night. The Chiefs looked good beating the Saints on a perfect Sunday afternoon. Jen takes Truta and Shaylee to task for the Face Your Fears Friday ideas they never pulled off. Truta argued they were just concepts, not actual plans (fake heart attack, anyone?). Renee from Leawood was crowned the winner of the Six Degrees of The Show contest. Renee got Drew Scott from Property Brothers on @HGTV to call-in. With the win, Renee gets over $1,300 worth of Kitchen Aid appliances, and she is donating them to A Child's Hope, a charity to help foster kids. The Show talked to Renee AND, for those who missed it, revisits our call with Drew Scott. The megaphone makes a return as a karaoke tool AND the millennial translator. The girls laugh about a sign that was posted in our bathroom at work. And Truta saw something at the Chiefs game that blew his mind...a self-driving car??

From Friday's #TheShowKC: fall is here with a vengeance (for now). Stephen Baldwin is not amused by his brother's Trump impersonation. Jen accidentally dropped an "I love you" on our building's security guard. We took calls from people who have said "I love you" to someone out of habit. The Millennial Translator was back (in the form of Truta's bullhorn). People felt like things sound cooler when said through a megaphone, so Truta gave some shout-outs to local high schools and a couple of birthdays. Truta got Jen and Shaylee to play a game of "How Does The Story End" about a news anchor in Florida who became....well, just listen. Comedian James Johan stopped by for half a second to chat up his shows at Stanfords this weekend. And Jen tries to find a Halloween costume.

Every Thursday, The Show will present you with 3 options of a throwback song, picked by each cast member. Today Jen chose Deee-Lite's "Groove Is In The Heart." Truta went with "Butterfly" by Crazy Town and Shaylee stuck with Mandy Moore (pre-This Is Us) and her early tune "Candy." You just have to hear how the voting turned out. In between, check out the #1 thing people do in meetings, an update on the Shaylee dating game that is coming next week, where was the weirdest place you've ever fallen asleep, and Time's most influential teens.

Find out what type of sausage won the popular vote. Also, did links or patties fare better with men or women/Dems or Republicans or Libertarians? To follow up, Truta played the BEST consumer complaint call of all time. "I wanna eat, dammit!" Make sure you listen for the Throwback Throwdown every Thursday morning. You'll get to vote on The Show's Throwback song. The winner will be played at 8:45. Shaylee and listener Jessica play Gen-X vs Millennial. While watching the school lunch menus on TV Jen noticed Blue Springs was eating fish stick nachos. What the hell is that? What were the worst school lunches you had? Listeners weigh in. The girls saw a Christmas-themed commercial on TV and are getting really excited about decorating for the holiday. Jen found free beer on Craigslist. Yes, free beer! Only in Independence. It was race weekend in KC and our favorite Uber driver, Jeff, called in with a story about picking up Jeff Burton and taking him to Top Golf. Truta found a story that said moms are more stressed out while dads just hang out and have fun. We definitely had some moms unload -- and even got a hard-working dad to chime in with his input!

BUSY day on #TheShowKC: Jen's niece Katie is visiting from Chicago and came to help us decipher what is now known as Generation Z. And we thought Shaylee the Millennial didn't get some of our jokes! Whoa! It's Red Friday, Chiefs play the Raiders on Sunday. It's also going to be warm and beautiful (and un-fall-like) this weekend, which makes Jen sad. There's a new craze in the selfie world: you have to THROW your phone in the air while taking the selfie. Of course we tried it (see our results on Facebook). This is going to result in a lot of broken phones. Kent Stock called in as part of our Six Degrees of The Show contest. Kent coached a baseball team in Iowa and became the real-life inspiration for the movie The Final Season starring Sean Astin. Then, comedian Steve Hytner stopped by to talk about his time on Seinfeld, Zack & Cody and even clowns, which made Shaylee sad.
