Being engaged is just another word for being promised to marry. When a woman gets engaged, she starts the preparation process, which does not end until the moment she says I do. In this short sermon, being engaged is not relating to marriage, but it means to participate in, become involved in. Are you engaged in your pastor’s vision? Are you engaged in your purpose God called you to fulfill? How do we get engaged? God called us to preach the gospel. He called us unto good works. We need to get engaged in God’s plan. Christ is coming back for His bride. Are you ready? Are you engaged? I do take prayer requests. Email me at tlive@nativeproductionsva.com or call 757-751-9177.

Election is over results are in. After volunteering on the campaign trail, I realized some important things... No matter how bad things get, if people won't vote, change will not occur. There were some people I talked to that refused to vote because they did not like either party. I explained that it was ok to have that opinion. I never told people who to vote for, however I expressed the importance of their vote counting and how it still gave them a voice. For some, it was not enough to sway them to vote. On Facebook, I saw some horrible comments and pictures for and against each political party. I saw friends debate back and forth and get into heated arguments. How did this election affect you? Your family? Your friendships? Call in and talk with me! Stay tuned during this broadcast for a word on "Forgiveness" as well.
This week, there was a devastating storm that hit the east coast and destroyed many homes, dreams, and took lives. What do you do when storms roll in your life? Join me and call into this broadcast and share how God has kept you safe during your storm.

Then you have acquaintances that you like to be around at work or in business, but you would never hang with outside those realms. Today's broadcast will answer the questions posed. This past week, my posts on Facebook were centered around spiritual warfare. There were a lot of people giving me personal feedback. Today's topic will continue with a message to encourage you to not give up in your situation. I will share some personal testimony so others would know that they are not the only ones going through a struggle. This broadcast will explain the importance of knowing why you are fighting daily battles. Our spiritual battles are real, even though we cannot physically see the enemy. We must educate ourselves on how the battles are fought and how they impact our lives on a daily basis. We have to encourage each other and grow strong enough to encourage ourselves.

Today’s Theme is: A Poetic Timeline of My Life This episode was designed to inspire you with some of my poetry from my book, Journey to Legacy.
Today’s Theme: God’s Love (1John 4:7-21) 1. God is love. He showed his love through His son Jesus who lived in love on this earth and died on the cross for the remission of our sins. 2. His holy spirit allows us to identify with Him. It gives us the ability to see God in others. This love produces trust and the ability to rely on others when we see God working in them. There is no fear in love. There is no love in fear. This fear, that causes bondage and persecution is not of God. Walking in love allows us to cultivate our spirits in a godly manner. I stated on my FB post: Love casts out fear because fear is torment and love is freedom. When you feel tormented by someone, they are using fear or operating in fear to control you. The one who fears is not made perfect in love. What happened to that person who lives fearful. Who imparted fear in their life? What circumstances formed someone to operate in fear. Proverbs 9:10 “The fear ofthe LORD is thebeginningofwisdom, and knowledge ofthe Holy One is understanding.”

Her topics on faith in God and spiritual growth were inspirational. Check it out!
Today’s Theme: Testing of Your Faith (James 1:2-16) Count it all joy, my brothers, when you meet trials of various kinds, for you know that the testing of your faith produces steadfastness. And let steadfastness have its full effect, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking in nothing. (steadfastness: commitment, persistence, devotion, faithfulness) If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask God, who gives generously to all without reproach (blame), and it will be given him. But let him ask in faith, with no doubting, for the one who doubts is like a wave of the sea that is driven and tossed by the wind. For that person must not suppose that he will receive anything from the Lord; he is a double-minded man, unstable in all his ways. Let the lowly brother boast in his exaltation, and the rich in his humiliation, because like a flower of the grass[c] he will pass away. For the sun rises with its scorching heat and withers the grass; its flower falls, and its beauty perishes. So also will the rich man fade away in the midst of his pursuits. Blessed is the man who remains steadfast under trial, for when he has stood the test he will receive the crown of life, which God has promised to those who love him. Let no one say when he is tempted, “I am being tempted by God,” for God cannot be tempted with evil, and he himself tempts no one. But each person is tempted when he is lured and enticed by his own desire. Then desire when it has conceived gives birth to sin, and sin when it is fully grown brings forth death. Do not be deceived, my beloved brothers.
Today’s Theme: Resurrection: To Be Resurrected, You First Must Die; Resurrected Means You Are Living Theme Scripture: Romans 6:8-11
Now if we died with Christ, we believe that we will also live with him. For we know that since Christ was raised from the dead, he cannot die again; death no longer has mastery over him. The death he died, he died to sin once for all; but the life he lives, he lives to God. In the same way, count yourselves dead to sin but alive to God in Christ Jesus.
On Thursday’s Facebook post, I posed the question, “Are You Dressed?” It was dealing with spiritual warfare. In Ephesians 6, we are told: “Wherefore take unto you the whole armor of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand. Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness; And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace; Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked. And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God: Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints;" (verses 13-18)
The devil will use people and circumstances to make us stumble, and if we are not protecting ourselves with the armor, we will be penetrated when we are attacked.

I have a big family, with nine of us on the roll call. My husband, my six sons and one daughter make up our family unit. There is never a boring day or moment in my home. You could probably imagine. Even though there are a lot of people and we are all doing different things, there’s one thing throughout the day that is the same… we love each other and God so much. We are very close. All 7 children have such a different personality, different aspirations, but they all receive the same instruction at home. We teach the expectations we have for them in their daily lives. They all have chores, they have rules, they have curfews, and they get their daily instruction of Christian parenting from Vance and Me. That is what makes it so easy to run such a big household. God ordained us as a family, so when we living according to his Word, we can see the benefits so clearly. It may look effortlessly to some, but there is a lot of hard work and prayer involved. Psalms 127:3-5 Behold, children are a heritage from the LORD, the fruit of the womb a reward. Like arrows in the hand of a warrior are the children of one’s youth. Blessed is the man who fills his quiver with them! He shall not be put to shame when he speaks with his enemies in the gate.
Proverbs 29:18 (KJV) “Where there is no vision, the people perish: but he that keepeth the law, happy is he.”
One of my purposes in life is to help others see where they are going. I love to encourage and inspire people. I am compelled to demonstrate my faith to others because I know there is power in my testimonies. One day I helped out a good friend of mine through words of encouragement and direction in her life. A couple of days later, she shared something with me. She said she saw a vision, there was a figure with many arrows on the ground beneath pointing in many directions. She realized that she was the figure and the arrows represented all the directions she could go in life, but didn’t know which way to go. She said she was confused. Then God showed her in my previous conversation my words caused her to look up to God for direction for her life. She realized that looking down was not helping her or guiding her to do anything. It was actually preventing her from moving forward. My friend understood that looking up to God gave her insight and she found the answers and direction she was looking for all along. She was so happy and found the peace because she now has focus and her perspective completely changed. Her joy was restored. This testimony is a great reason as to why I share my faith with others.
No matter what the situation, we have a BIG GOD!!! He does not always rescue us from our problems, sometimes we have to endure. Can I get an amen?!! However, He does promise to be with us, to comfort us, to walk this journey with us, and give us strength. One of my favorite songs is Our God is greater by Chris Tomlin. My pastor, John Young at Empowered Believers Christian Learning Center, calls it the trash talking song. No matter what you are going through, God is bigger than any problem. We can be assured that He will work it out because if our God is for us, then who can ever stop us, and if our God is with us, than what can stand against us? Nothing!!! So we should rejoice in the Lord and give God the glory. So remember, God is our strength. When we are going through, we only come through by His power and with God’s grace. When your problem seems big, talk to it and tell your problem how big God is! Praise the Lord.
