The Study Al-Islam program is dedicated to the legacy and leadership of Imam W. Deen Mohammed (raa).
Study Al-Islam program began in 2014 during the holy month of Ramadan. The program encourages the understanding and the application of the Qur'an as the primary source for making daily decisions in our personal, family, and community life.
Study Al-Islam is a 30-minute series of lectures that are offered in two parts, Ramadan and Life Topics. The lectures are offered by respected educated Speakers. The Speakers explain concepts in the Qur'an, traditions of Prophet Muhammed (PBUH), and the Arabic language, according to the insightful, scriptural, and contemporary language of Imam W.D. Mohammed (raa).
Since 2019 in Baltimore, Imam Tariq Najee-ullah serves as Assistant Chaplain of Muslim Life at Johns Hopkins University. This marked Imam Tariq's first time as a guest on the Ramadan Speakers List for Study Al-Islam. In this talk, he give a reading of Surah Al-'Imran that is reflective and instructive to the community. There are three things which cause destruction and three things which lead to salvation. The Three things which cause destruction are miserliness which is obeyed, passion which is followed, and self-conceit. at night from the Ka'bah to the mosque in Jerusalem on a buraq.* On reaching Jerusalem the Prophet
along with other Prophets offered Prayers. (Al-Nasa'i, Sunan, K. al-Salah, 'Bab Fard al-Salah wa Dhikr Ikhtilaf al-Naqilin...' -Ed.) Gabriel then took him to the heavens and the Prophet
met several great Prophets in different heavenly spheres. (See al-Nasa'i, Sunan, K. al-Salah, 'Bab Fard al-Salah' - Ed.) Finally, he reached the highest point in the heavens and was graced with an experience of the Divine Presence. On that occasion the Prophet
received a number of directives including that Prayers were obligatory five times a day. (Al-Bukhari, K. Manaqib al -Ansar, 'Bab al-Mi'raj ; K. al-Tawhid, 'Bab Kallama Musa Taklima' - Ed.) Thereafter, the Prophet
returned from the heavens to Jerusalem, and from there to the Holy Mosque in Makka. - other commands came much later

- “‘What has caused you to enter Hell?’

- Differentiating factor between us and disbelievers is Salah.
- ‘Abdullah ibn Mas‘ood (may Allah be pleased with him) that he said: “Whoever does not pray has no religion.”

- The Munafiqeen used to not miss any prayers in the masjid otherwise people would know.
