Kat Walsh had an ego death on 6.7g of Albino Avery mushrooms and it was by far the scariest day of her life. It was also incredible, otherworldy and quite mystical -- AFTER the Ego was forced to shut down. In 2019, Amanita Dreamer had her life saved by the Amanita Muscaria mushroom. 🍄 Her story really is that dramatic and also that magical. As she attempted to research this mysterious mushroom after a life saving mushroom date with destiny, she saw that the information online about it was harmful, full of misinformation and hard to find. She has dedicated her life to helping correct this.

He was there as a National Geographic photographer and ended up needing to be emergency evacuated out of there. Jim was paralyzed from the abdomen down -- though thankfully not permanently. SGT(R) Jonathan Lubecky is an Iraq veteran who had his life saved by MDMA-assisted therapy. As a participant in MAPS' Phase 2 clinical trial for MDMA-assisted therapy, Jonathan went into this session suffering from severe PTSD which included 5 suicide attempts, and came out of the trial saying he longer suffers from PTSD at all.
Now a governmental and veteran liaison for MAPS, Jonathan has been sharing his remarkable story of healing to help bring awareness to this life-changing MDMA treatment. While MDMA-assisted therapy is not legal for therapeutic use yet, it is projected that the FDA will likely approve it by 2023.
During this ep, Jonathan discusses his story, what the clinical trial was like, why he feels it helped and what his plans are for the future to help bring this breakthrough therapy to the countless other people who are suffering from PTSD.

My guest this week is musician Big Black Delta aka Jonathan Bates. Jon has an incredibly spiritual life and during this episode, he discusses how discovering his journey into Self has informed his music and continues to shape his choices. With the pandemic devastating many musicians, Jon discusses how he has been diving into the unknown with a new level of trust in the universe.
Big Black Delta has collaborated with a number of other artists such as Alessandro Cortini (Nine Inch Nails) and Poison The Well drummer Chris Hornbrook to name a few. He also released his fourth album, "4", in July 2020 and is currently working on his fifth album.

I did a 5 gram heroic mushroom trip by myself in total darkness. I was searching for answers. Needing help. Needing direction. Needing a breakthrough.
Today's 25th episode is about that experience. But it's so much more than that. This is a story about faith. About trust. About a deep willingness to surrender to the unknown and stand in one's truth.
This is also my "allow me to reintroduce myself" moment. It's the truest expression of who I am today, who I was in the past, and what lies ahead. I admit -- it's a bit of an unusual solo episode but this what came through.

I absolutely loved speaking with documentary filmmaker Kumiko Hayashi and indigenous filmmaker, Jimmy Piaguaje. For the last five years, Kumiko has been living with indigenous tribes in the Amazon creating a new documentary film called The Roots Awaken.

One of my recent mushroom experiences in Joshua Tree was nothing short of the name -- magic. ✨
I had a mystical experience. I contemplated the nature of reality. I tapped into deep emotional feelings of unity and connectivity. It was everything I could have asked for and more.

It wasn't until 15 years after my first mushroom experience at 16 did I embark on my second psychedelic trip as an adult.
The experience was beautiful but also exhausting at times. The overwhelming nature of psilocybin can be quite real, especially if you're new to it. I happened to have a sizable amount for this experience (half an 8th) for someone for all intents and purposes was basically brand new to all this.
In hindsight, I realize I needed to work through some healing, some self-realization, and some energetic work to get to a place where Magic Mushrooms could finally be genuinely FUN. But it takes work on that soul level to first clear yourself of some of those self-limiting beliefs that keep us down. That keep us small. That keep us controlled.

Story Time with Kat ! As the host of TRIP ON THIS, I don't often times go into detail about my own psychedelic experiences. So I've decided to add short stories of my own trippy tales that I'll be releasing on Fridays. Catch the below context for this week's story. Enjoy!
Back in early December, I was readying for the launch of my psychedelic podcast, TRIP ON THIS, when fear began to creep in.
I was embarking on something new and the unknown was beginning to take hold. Meditation, yoga, positive self talk were only doing so much...so I decided to go deeper. After all, I was launching a podcast about psychedelics. Seemed fitting -- and no doubt, it was.
The experience was beautiful, emotional, and truly everything that I needed. I realized about 2-3 hours into my trip that I was also "taking a trip" along my chakras. Releasing the needed blocks and emotions that corresponded with each. It was incredible. I've had many psychedelic trips in my life but never had I experienced this in particular.
I hope you enjoy this story. And for anyone out there who's thinking of starting something new and scared about where to be even begin, take this as your sign. :) Everything you've ever wanted is on the other side of fear.

We discuss how tripping has changed for him over the years now as an adult and gives some valuable takeaways from his experiences. Wade also opens up about having PTSD from losing his mother at 20 years old and how MDMA has helped soften those edges around those wounds.
