Passage: 1 John 2:12-17 This week we start a four part series entitled "Discern". Over the coming weeks we'll be exploring the theme of discernment in the Bible. We start with John's letter and in particular his exhortation in 1 John 2:15 which says "Do not love the world or the things of the world". Three main points from this passage: 1) Worldliness Defined 2) Worldliness Discerned 3) Worldliness Defeated
Passage: Matthew 11:25-30 This week we celebrated our inaugural International Sunday service and Brendan brought us a message from the Gospel of Matthew. In this passage, Jesus has a Great Invitation for all people of every tribe and language. Jesus invites all people to come to him and experience true rest.
Passage: Psalm 96 This week we welcomed Glen to the staff of Sovereign Grace Sydney, and in his first message to us he took us through this well known Psalm, Psalm 96. In this Psalm we listen to and unpack the psalmist's call to "Sing the Glory of the Lord, To the Lord, Among the Nations".
Passage: Luke 7:36-50 In this our last message in our "The Day I Met Jesus" series for 2018, Brendan takes us through Luke's account of the encounter that Simon the Pharisee has when Jesus comes to his place for dinner. At that dinner a most unexpected guest gate crashes the meal and interacts with Jesus in a most confronting way. How does Simon respond to this interaction? How does Jesus respond to this? What is our response as onlookers as these events unfold?

Passage: Luke 5:27-32 This week in this second message in our December/Advent series for 2018, we look in on an encounter between Jesus and another character - Levi, and see how Levi responded when Jesus called him to "Follow Me".
Passage: Luke 2 We return to our Christmas series this year for the month of December and kick off by looking at the familiar scene of the nativity. Through Luke's account of the nativity, we look at The Birth of Christ, The Proclamation and The Responses.
Passage: Exodus 12:1-13 In this our last message in Exodus for 2018, we come to the climax of the events in Egypt and look at the instructions God gives the Israelites in preparation for the final plague and what it meant for them then, and what it means for us today. That in this event, God is creating All Things New. Together we see that in the Passover God is creating A New Beginning, A New Freedom and A New Forgiveness for Israel. And that for us because of Jesus, our Passover Lamb, we also have A New Beginning, A New Freedom and A New Forgiveness.
Passage: Exodus 9 - 11 This week we finish looking at the 10 plagues of Egypt, finishing with the plagues of hail, darkness and death. In the message we are again confronted on the one hand by the judgement of God against Pharoah and the Egyptians, but yet comforted and assured by the mercy and kindness shown in the grace of God towards his people, Israelites. Over the last 3 messages about the plagues, what relevance does this story have for us today? What is the message God wants us to take away from this account?
Special guest speaker Claire Smith speaks to the ladies and encourages us to imitate Paul as he runs the race of life... forgetting what lies behind and straining to what lies ahead, focusing on the goal to know Jesus more and become like Him.
Passage: Exodus 7-9 Riley picks up where Brendan left off last week and steps us through the first 6 plagues in the account of Moses. And we continue to explore and understand why these are more than just supernatural plagues, but that they are signs from God, with a message to Pharoah, to the Israelites and to us.
