Welcome to our special Easter sunrise service on the His Way campus, where we celebrated the resurrection of Jesus Christ and the peace He brings. We also honored those in the His Way family who passed away over the past year and shared our grief and gratitude for their lives.

We rejoiced with those in our family who were baptized, welcoming them into the community of faith and offering our support and encouragement on their journey of faith. It was a joyous moment, reminding us of the power of resurrection to transform lives and bring us closer to God and each other.

On today's episode, Tom sits down with Jesse Mogle who recounts his recovery from substance abuse in the past 6 years. His pursuit of personal recovery compelled him to learn as much as he could about how to effectively bring the hope of recovery to others who are suffering in active addiction, which he now does through various outlets including his website and podcasts.

He is currently enrolled in the Alabama Department of Mental Health's Certified Recovery Support Specialist Training through the University of Alabama. Part of that program is to do field work at recovery facilities, and Jesse wanted to intern with a faith-based program and specifically chose His Way. He wanted to learn about our program from the inside out, without bias, in the way that we attempt to deliver the program to our residents. Jesse's observations from "an outsider's point of view" about His Way and faith-based elements in recovery are insightful and compelling to consider.

Melinda tells the beautiful story of the beginnings and growth of The Lovelady Center in Birmingham, AL - a fellow member of the Alabama Association of Christian Recovery Ministries (AACRM) and the Alabama Rescue Services Association (ARSA). Their mission is:

Empowering women, through faith-based initiatives, so they can return to society as well-equipped women of God. The program is about empowerment, hope and a belief in the value of each and every human life.

It is our mission to help women rebuild their lives and walk forward with faith-driven hope for the future as a contributing member of our community. The Lovelady Program ensures each woman is taught how to overcome barriers to success by providing access to needed services.

You can give a person shelter, food and clothing, but if they cannot support themselves, the cycle of poverty and incarceration will not be broken.
