Citizens of Gotham! I am finally back to talk about the penultimate episode of The Penguin, Top Hat. But fear not, there will be a 2nd episode today to talk about that damn finale!
Sure, I'm a week late getting this latest episode out to you, but I had a pretty good excuse. Well, I had a pretty good excuse as to why the episode was a day or two late - a week? Maybe not. Either way, another great episode of the Penguin as we're only a couple away from the big finale!
Another week - another great episode of The Penguin. This show is consistently getting better and better each week. Homecoming knocks it out of the park again!
I have a friend, who hosts another podcast with me, who I cannot get to watch this show because it's related to a comic book / superhero character. Your loss buddy! This show is great and this episode was excellent! I don't understand being so opposed to something that is good just because of the genre it comes from. Again - his loss...And brother if you're seeing this - you should be watching it too!
So...The Penguin might just be a great show. I am all in after these three episodes! Tonight I talk about the most recent episode, "Bliss" and give my quick thoughts off the top of my head right after watching it.

I'll just spoil my thoughts right now and say - Penguins is two-for-two with quality/enjoyable episodes!

I finally watched the first episode tonight (thinking the 2nd episode premiered tonight) and really enjoyed it. Get ready for new episodes of "The Penguin's Mightier..." every Sunday after new Penguin episodes.Well maybe not next Sunday...Dammit I just remembered we're taking my mother-in-law into Boston to see Mama Mia. Sigh...
Happy Batman Day everyone! Okay I admit that this is just a crazy coincidence that today I happened to wear a Batman shirt and wanted finally rewatch 2022's "The Batman". I swear I didn't plan it this way! I was just pregaming to finally watch The Penguin and I thought it would be fun to finally get a new BIG SCREEN BATMAN out in the world. Happy accidents are the best!
I watched the original Deadpool back as a home video rental back in 2016 for my third annual movie month - the first year I turned it into a podcast. Two years later, I saw Deadpool 2 in the theater for my 2018 movie month. After six years, Deadpool returns - now part of the Marvel Universe (sorta kinda, technically) and with his biggest movie yet. And his biggest co-star.
There was NO way I was going to wait until next June to see this one (though the thought did cross my mind.)
And so, once again we end movie month with an epic tale directed by Martin Scorsese. Tomorrow, it's all over. Movie month is done. Tomorrow. But tonight!? Tonight we party with Bella Baxter! I knew this movie would be weird and wild and bonkers and fun - but it was even more so than I expected. Do not watch this with any kids in the room. Do no watch this with any older relatives in the room. But do watch it. Do.
Let's just say this - I enjoyed this movie so much I wrote a short song about it. If that's not praise, I don't know what is. This little parody number kicks off today's episode so you wouldn't miss it. Unless of course you don't listen - but what would just be rude.
I am angry with myself for not seeing this movie on opening night and then watching it every night of my life since then. Loved this movie so much! During this episode, I talk a bit about my own time making movies, including this short film I shot back in college almost 30 years ago.
I got an A on the movie - and this movie gets an A+ from me....

The show notes for today's movie were written on a touchscreen keyboard on a Google Pixel phone, running Android. And although I did not use a physical keyboard, there is no doubt in my mind that I owe the invention of the BlackBerry to the face that I can write a post with my tired thumbs.
Oh and thanks to the BlackBerry, I was able to watch a really fun movie with some great performances. Double win for me!
Let's get this out of the way up front. This is not a good movie - not even as good as it's predecessor. The difference between this and say, some other movie that featured dinosaurs, is that I think this knew that going in. I'm not 100% certain about that though, because if they did maybe they would have turned things up a bit more?
Still shocked this is based on a book. I may never read them, but if they keep making them into movies - I guess I'll keep watching.
Well, it's official. I now have finally heard a song by The Smiths. Many actually. This might complete my listening career of them - but it definitely will not be the end of my viewing and enjoying a David Fincher or Michael Fassbender movie!
And with this day complete, tomorrow starts the final week of Movie Month!
Is Movie Month possessed? This isn't the first movie dealing with the devil this month - and I am contemplating whether or not it is the last! When I first heard about this movie, I had very little expectations for it - but boy oh boy was I happily wrong about that. I’d heard since its release how much people have enjoyed it and apparently I’m one of those people!
And with today's movie, I have not completed the Jurassic World trilogy, and - oh wait, they already announced another one? Great. Well, not to spoil things too much - but it has to be better than what I watched today, right? Oh it doesn't....Double great.
(Please be advised that the host of today's podcast and the writer of these notes used the word "great" with a tremendous amount of sarcasm.)
The next time I order an ice coffee I am going to say, "Please add cream." And if they ask if I want any sweetener, I'll say - "Yes. Equalize it." I thought of that while I still have 30 minutes left in this awesome movie, so I paused it - and came here to write that. Worth it!!!
Okay, I finished the movie - loved it. Not sure I still like my coffee sweetener joke. No, wait I do. It's incredible.
Devil inside. Devil inside. Every single one of us - the Devil inside...wait, INXS was yesterday. Today, I watched movie from two directing brothers that I was not familiar with - but now will be paying attention to what they're working on next. Dare I say....Devilish fun?

You may be asking yourself - wait a second, this guy's never seen Donnie Darko? And of course the answer to your hurtful question is, of course not! I would never break the sacred rules of movie month by discussing a movie I've never seen before. Then the question is, did he watch the original theatrical cut or the director's cut. And the answer to that is - yes.
If there's a podcast about movies every day in June, who ya gonna listen to? Please say me! Today I watched the fifth Ghostbusters movie, but only the third sequel - though I watched that extra/other one for movie month too! What can I say? Podcastin' makes me feel good!

Sometimes a movie has lots of things I enjoy, but a few things that leave my head scratching or my eyes rolling. Not this movie. I think I enjoyed every moment of every character. I guess....I guess I love musicals!
Happy Friday, movie nerds! We are one day away from the halfway point and today I watched a movie that was a lot of fun and might just propel its lead to the next level of stardom. Sorry this is so short - I need to go watch the Celtics...
As much as I'm a sucker for the Insidious movies, I'm even more so for the Conjuring movies. They're not all gems, but I like how they all seem to connect in one way or another. Today I watched a movie that is a direct sequel to the original "The Nun" that I can't believe I watched all the way back in 2019. Now the Nun is back! And Nunnier than ever!
And with that, I am now 100% caught up on the Marvel Cinematic Universe....at least the movies. I actually had fun with this movie. Sure it was pretty cookie-cutter as far as the plot, but the actors and some fun moments made it enjoyable enough. And the end left me curious as to what comes next!
Let it roll, baby roll! Tonight I am watching my 7th Jake Gyllenhaal movie. My first one since - well, last year - and probably (definitely) not my last one this year. Tonight I watched Jake in the remake of the Patrick Swayze...."classic?" Road House. Is this the first time Jake Gyllenhaal and Patrick Swayze have ever been thought about together? Hmm....I wonder if, I've said too much? Well, stick around this month to find out!
Growing up, Godzilla was was that monster (sometimes friend, sometimes foe) on WLVI's "Creature Double Feature" on Saturday afternoons. Then in the 90s, Hollywood tried to make a big budget version of him that was terrible. In the most recent years they've improved with the whole "Monsterverse" thing that they have going with King Kong.
But in all that time, Japan has continued to produce movies featuring the monster that originated there - and today I watched the most recent, Oscar winning, version of Godzilla on the screen - and all I can say is, Wow.
Wrestling is real. Wrestling is real, and I love it. It's a real as the novel you read, the play you attend, the television drama you DVR, or the movie you stream or watch in the theater. It ist heater. But for some it is their life. For the Von Erichs, wrestling was their everything. Until it wasn't. This movie seems almost too sad to be true - and in actuality, the real life family story is even sadder. I'll talk about that more in today's episode.
Not since I talked about the first Dune in 2021 has there been a movie with this much sand. It's coarse and rough and irritating and it gets everywhere - wait sorry, wrong sci-fi franchise that has a thing called Spice. Herbert did it first!!
Tonight I close a chapter in the world of comic book movies. Is it a chapter that is fully closed for good? Probably, but will we ever see this actor and this character on a screen in a DC movie again? I think the chances are pretty good - even if the character is being played by someone new...And the actor is someone different.
It's not confusing if you follow this sort of stuff. Anyway, I think this is the end of the world that Zack Snyder put together - and now it's up to you James Gunn to kickstart my heart (wait that was in the other movie....)
Apparently, I love Patrick Wilson. Not only have I been a fan of all the Conjuring movies, but I also have now watched all of the Insidious films. I enjoy them all for what they are. These aren't high art, and some are better than others, but they know how to make a small horror movie with some fun jump scares. If they keep making them, I'll keep watching them....(unrelated, Go Celtics!)
Welcome back comic book nerds! I finally am catching up with all the Marvel movies and, while there have been varying levels of success of quality in some of the most recent batch, I can pleasantly say that this one was a home run for me. As much as I enjoyed this one, I hope I like James Gunn's next movie even more so....but today is not about that. Today - is mostly about Rocket. Rocket Raccoon.
For most of the last two decades, Marvel has ruled the box office. Things have cooled off a bit more recently, but they are still the kings of comic book movies. Me? I've always been more of a DC guy for two main reasons. Of of those reasons wears a red cape and the other one dresses as a bat. They're the reason I have a DC Comics Ultimate Ultra Super Duper Comic Subscription Plus.
And while Batman has had huge success on the screen, the rest of the DC world has hit more miss than somewhat hit - so when James Gunn was announced to take over DC Films, I was excited. A clean slate. A new beginning - except perhaps, for one character. One existing story that it would seems has a future in Gunn's vision. Today's movie is all about that character...
In June 2014, I accepted a mission. A mission that I made up for myself where I would watch a movie every single day and podcast (or back then, blog) about it. Part of that mission was so I could finally watch movie series that I keep hearing about but never got around to starting. This was one of those series - and I am so glad that I started watching them.
A few months back, I got my brother to start watching these movies and he had two thoughts. First, Tom Cruise is insane (in a good way, with the stunts he does). And second, these movies are awesome. He's right about both and I am thrilled to finally be seeing this latest one.

It's day two, and today I am completing the Barbenheimer duology - watching the two biggest movies from 2023 back to back. Big shout out to my niece who graduates from 8th grade today! Next year she is going to my alma mater and hopefully she can make our name cool again....Well maybe not again - being in the bowling club for four years doesn't scream "homecoming king" material.
But it was fun - just like this movie! The difference being my bowling club had no moral message to go along with the the fun, which I think is what made this movie so popular and yes, powerful. Fun but thoughtful.
Hello fellow cool kids, and welcome back to MOVIE MONTH! Can you believe it? This is my 11th year of watching 30 movies in 30 days and now the ninth year of doing 30 podcast episodes. Did you miss it as much as I did? I'll just assume you said yes to save my some tears.
I decided to start this one off with a bang, get it? I'll probably use that same joke during the podcast, but I don't know because I wrote this hours ago and we'll see if I remember to bring back such an amazing play on words.

There really was only one way for this whole thing to end, wasn't there. If I was going to do a "MARCHY McFLY 4" then I think I had to tell the story of Back to the Future Part IV - or at least what I think it could be. Some parts are more flushed out than others - but in the end I think I put together something kind've fun. You both listen and watch this episode. This final episode of the season. Final episode of the month. This final episode....of Marchy McFly.

I'm probably never going to say I watched a great episode of the Back to the Future animated series, but I will give credit when credit is due. Today I talk about the eighth episode of the second season, "A Verne by Any Other Name, " and I think they hit all the right notes that I am looking for. A story with time travel and with time travel that plays a major part of the story. Just keep doing that.

It's Double Shot Thursday as today I once again double up the action as I talk about issue five of the Back to the Future: Untold Tales and Alternate Timelines Comic, featuring "Clara's Story," which was pretty great. I then follow that up with something not so great as I talk about and play the "Back to the Future II & III" NES Game, in which I answer the age old question, can it possibly be worse than the first game?
Whoa, this is heavy. Less than 12 hours ago I put up yesterday's episode and now I'm already back to talk about another episode of the Back to the Future animated series, "A Friend in Deed." This one is a big improvement on yesterday's episode AND we finally meet a missing link in the long line of Tannen's that I've been curious about for years. Some might say decades....

Today I watched the season 1 finale of the Back to the Future Animated Series, "Clara's Folks," and I'm just going say it - I really enjoyed this episode. Perfect? No. But as a whole, I was into it pretty much the entire way. Don't believe me? Well, listen and find out. Also, get maybe 4 or 5 or 4,000 of your friends to listen to. Hell, send them the YouTube link but don't tell them what it is. C'mon, together we can drive those numbers up one fraudulent view at a time....
Today I watched episode 12 from the first season, "Retired." And - remember how a few days ago I was talking about how this show may have found its stride and had some pretty good episodes? Well, I take that back after this one....Enjoy?
Ever notice in this year's Marchy McFly theme song I say "Comics, Cartoons, and More?" Well, it's time for "More" as today I talk about the 1989 Nintendo Entertainment System game, "Back to the Future" that apparently is based on my favorite movie. Happy Wednesday, Time Traveleers! Today I watched another kinda good episode from the first season of Back to the Future: The Animated Series. Today I watched episode 11 from the first season, "Gone Fishin'" and, I dunno - am I delusional or are these getting better?
Merry Christmas Back to the Future fans! Yes, I realize it's March (hence this podcast) but today it feels like Christmas as Doc brings Marty and his family back to old timey England to celebrate the holiday (and escape the warm weather at home) in, "Dickens of a Christmas." Is this a classic episode of Christmas television? Is this a Christmas special that should be aired yearly? Hmmm, not sure I can go there - but for this show, pretty good. That's the highest compliment I think I can give. Pretty....pretty good.
Butterfly in the sky....I can go twice as high. Take a look - at a comic book as I'm reading another one! No Animated Series today as I talk about the two stories in "Back to the Future #2: Untold Tales and Alternate Timelines Comic." I loved reading these when I first got them back in 2016 as a birthday gift (Thank you Cocos!) and I loved reading them again.
BUT, towards the end of the episode I did come up with (live while recording) a fun idea that I think I will do once I am done with the Animated Series.

I've had two wishes - two things I wanted to see on this Back to the Future cartoon. First, I want to see the rest of the McFlys (or at least Marty's parents). And second, I want them to go to the future. Well, we haven't met George or Lorraine yet, but FINALLY THE BROWNS TRAVEL TO THE FUTURE in today's episode, the 9th of the series, "Solar Sailors." See you in the future!!!!

Happy Friday, McFly! Today I got back and talk about the animated series - again - only this time the episode had two shorter separate stories, "Time Waits for No Frog" and "Einstein's Adventure." This episode is coming out just in time for you to listen to it as you drift off to sleepyland. I hope my voice doesn't cause any nightmares...
This sucker's electrical! I wouldn't call today's episode that I talk about "Electric" in the sense that it's anything great - but it does deal with the discovery of electricity so it kinda fits. Today I talk about the 7th episode (Oh man I still have 19 more of these?) of the animated series titled, "Go Fly a Kite." Wow has it already been one week? We're about 22% of the way there (I looked it up). See you tomorrow - unless you're....chicken.

And while I wasn't all that thrilled with this episode, I am excited that tomorrow we'll be talking about Back to the Future but NOT the animated series....But still listen to this one first!
Happy Monday. Buttheads! I had one more day off before getting back to work so I was able to record today's episode early again. Today I talked about the fourth episode of animated series "Witchcraft" - which travels back to 1600's Salem and continues the talk of at least one character dying. I love family entertainment!
I got BACK IN TIME! I am back from my week long trip with my wife to visit her mom in Florida - and finally Marchy McFly feels like it's ready to take off for our daily venture into this wild "Back to the Future" animated series. Today, I talked about episode 3 of the first season "Forward to the Past" - and wouldn't you know it, another episode featuring death. Fun times!
Happy Saturday Time Team....not sure I like that one. But I did kinda like this episode. It's pretty silly stuff but I am enjoying dissecting it like it's an important part of the Back to the Future canon.
Today we travel back to 1300s England with the Brown family in an episode titled, "A Family Vacation."
Speaking of which, my family vacation is ending today. When this episode is released, my wife and I will already be at the Fort Myers airport ready to go come home.

336 days. That's how long it's been since I've backed a future. Since I fluxed a capacitor. Since I marchied a mcfly. 336 long, pointless days just spent with work, family, and friends....but those wasted days are over and we can finally get back to what's important in life - podcasting about Back to The Future for 31 straight days.
And sure, this is probably the last year for this celebration - but most people thought last year was the last year - but it wasn't. Last year was not the last year, but last year's next year - which is this year - is probably the last last year.
One day in and I've already lost my mind.

Back in 2020 I found out that a guy I knew from grammar school and high school was going to be a judge on a reality show. I was already aware that this guy worked for LEGO and was a designer there for years. When I found out he was going to be a judge on this show - I first thought - wow how cool is that? And then I thought - that’s a cool idea for a show. So I immediately started watching and have see every episode and of every season and all of the holiday episodes.
At some point along the way, maybe in the last 6 months or so I realized that LEGO Masters originally was a UK show from back in 2017 and that the first season was free to stream on Tubi. So I watched it. But that was only the beginning....

Happy Almost New Year, everybody! I bet you thought after Christmas you wouldn't be hearing from me again on this podcast until March. So did I, but then I realized - hey I don't have to ALWAYS wait until June to talk about a particular movie. Sometimes, you just can't wait until the next Movie Month. Or maybe you think the movie won't be worth doing during that month. Where does "Rebel Moon: Part One - A Child of Fire" fall? While many people loved this show and thought it was hilarious, I always thought it was fun and enjoyable enough. Nothing groundbreaking – but I did watch it during its entire run.

Hey, mon! Welcome to the fourth and final entry in the saga that since 2020 I've dubbed JAWGUST. And boy oh boy did I save the worst for last. Thankfully I decided long ago that the subsequent years of JAWGUST would be one day and one day only. None of these movies deserve the love the original film has justifiably earned over the decades - ESPECIALLY Jaws: The Revenge, the only JAWS movie I've ever seen in the theater (as a new release that is). How sad is that!?
Day 30. Movie 30. Movie 300. Yes!!! For the 10th year in a row I made it all 30 days without missing a day - without missing a movie. For the 300th June day in a row totaling to 60 blog posts and 240 podcast episodes. BUT, for only the 2nd time in Movie Month history, I ended the year by seeing a movie in the theater - and this one was a doozie.
For the first time in 15 years, Indiana Jones is back on the big screen. If this is the last time we see Henry Jones, Jr. on the big screen - well I think this did the character justice - and made up for that last one that nobody wants to talk about.
But I do, as I bring you the last movie month episode of 2023, I don't ignore that last movie - and neither does this movie...

When a movie is described as an epic and then what you end up seeing is actually EPIC - it's a wonderful thing. This movie was an incredible roller coaster filled with emotion, drama, silliness (in a good way), fun, and friendship. Just a visual/musical treat. Epic, indeed.
Rian Johnson really knows how to put together a great mystery. Twists and Twits. This movie has them both and I can't say enough how much I enjoyed it - but I try to anyway. Go listen now and then tell your favorite cousin about it. I said now!
Back in 2015, the 2nd year of Movie Month, I decided to start watching the Fast & Furious movies. It was the single greatest decision I've made in my entire life. Okay may that's not true - but these movies are amazing. Okay, maybe that's not true - but they are entertaining as they are silly as they are eye rolling. I will continue to watch them as long as they make them. Which might only be a couple more years.
Or it will be forever.
And the 2023 "Chris Pick" goes to....Prisoners! For those of you who don't know, my long time friend and fellow podcaster always sends me movie suggestions and every year I find it in my king, enlarged heart to at the very least watch on of them...This is that one movie.
And he picked a good one. Not a "fun" movie by any stretch of the imagination - but some some wonderful acting. And Jake. Did I mention Jake? Jake was in it....
Although I've never played Dungeons & Dragons before, I do have a connection to this world going back decades - and as much that helped me enjoy this movie I'm not sure NOT having that connection could take away how much I thoroughly enjoyed this movie.
Wanna play? Well, I guess it's time that get back into the "killer doll" world that I have embraced here on Movie Month over the years. Whether it's sequels to a classic, a bad remake of a classic, a doll that never actually does anything but look creepy, or a technological marvel that is too smart for the humans around it, it turns out I enjoy these types of movies. The difference this time is - a lot of other people liked it too!
This movie was everything I expected it to be. Basic story with amazing special effects. There were some things that made me say, "huh?" and some things that made my eyes roll. There were also some things that made me pump my fist. James Cameron succeeded in what I think he set out to do - he made me enjoy myself.
Wow. Just - wow. What an incredible feat in filmmaking. I can't say enough good things about today's movie - but I try. I actually watched this in the theater this morning at a 9:10am showing. I smuggled some Dunkin' coffee in and a breakfast sandwich made by yours truly.
It really was a perfect vacation morning. In a theater by myself with maybe 4 other people, good coffee, and a fantastic movie.
What? You didn't think I'd forget to that I wasn't caught up on the Insidious movies yet did you? And hell, by this time next year there will be another one to talk about! This one - well let's just say this....I haven't watched it yet, so I have no idea how I feel about it. I guess I'll just have to listen to what I end up saying. You should too.
I'm officially on vacation for the rest of Movie Month (and beyond). To celebrate I watched a 2022 action movie where 95% of it takes place on a train. Brad Pitt leads a cast of over the top characters in a movie that might not be great - but was still a fun ride...Whoa, what a pun! But yeah, don't think too much about the plot - just go along for the journey...Oh snap, I did it again.
Fight, shoot, stab. Repeat! And repeat and repeat! I would watch John Wick have Chapters for decades to come - now will that happen? Hmm, maybe - maybe not. But all I know is, as long as they keep making them I'll keep enjoying them - even when they eventually end up being 5 hours long...
Happy Father's Day to all you dads out there. I thought I'd celebrate by getting freaked out for a good 100 minutes. I am so glad that I went into this movie seeing/knowing so little and was genuinely surprised as to where it went and how it got there. Now it makes me want to see what this writer/director does next!
While yesterday I watched a movie in the theater for the first time in years - today I watched a movie that was meant to be watched at home. The screen wasn't as good. The sound was as good as my earbuds allowed. The experience just wasn't the same - BUT boy oh boy was this an enjoyable movie with some fantastic action set pieces. Probably would've looked amazing on the big screen - but the living room TV would have to do.
After almost a four year break, I finally made it back to the movie theater. December 2019 was the last time I saw a film on the big screen - but I was not going to let this one pass me by! Accompanied by my 12 year old niece and 10 year old nephew, we saw in a huge screen, and spoiler alert - we all loved it!
Look, I'm going to be honest with you. It's 11:31pm and I am rushing to get this episode up and done and get all the posts about it done - so I don't have any real time to talk about this movie, but I will tell you this: I FRIGGIN' LOVED THIS MOVIE!
And with that, I am completely caught up with Marvel - except I am totally not and didn't realize it until I started typing this...Oops, that Tree and Raccoon movie is still out there. Oh well, I'm not changing it now.
This was basically a space movie with Ant-Man. Not great, but enjoyable enough.
With the Wisdom of Solomon, the Strength of Hercules, the Courage of Achilles, the Power of Zeus, the Stamina of Atlas, the Speed of Mercury, I watched today’s movie – Shazam! Fury of the Gods! Sure this movie died out at the box office, and the critics didn’t love it, and for a while I wasn’t sure if I would like it – but it picked up for me, and by the end I was enjoying myself even if I was thinking that this probably is the last time we’ll be seeing some/most/all of these characters…
This movie has been on my list since the first time I saw the trailer. It looks so dark and creepy - not sure why I waited so long (probably was only available to purchase at the time). If you can't tell, I wrote this description before watching the movie. My buddy wants to go get Indian food tonight so I wanted to prep ahead of time and get as much done as possible BEFORE watching the movie. How did I like the movie?And how was the food? I have no idea yet - THAT you'll have to listen to find out.
Today I watched the first movie in the Rocky-verse that did not feature Sylvester Stallone in it. And you know what? That is okay - because this was a good, well-made movie. And sure, during my podcast I got name of the big fight wrong - and I forgot to talk about the ring announcer with the crazy dreds - but hey that's okay. Maybe I'll remember those for Creed IV.
It's always great when a movie that a bunch of your friends have been loving and quoting lives up to (and even exceeds) the hype. A movie that you know was going to be good based on their opinions, on the fact of who made and acted in this movie, and of course all the accolades it was getting - and yet you still come out appreciating it even more than you thought you would.
Oh and my friend and co-host Chris fecking calls in.
I knew for a while that this would be the movie for day 9 - mainly because today is the day Renfield showed up on Peacock. Oh and even though the movie didn't get great reviews or have a great box office - I had a lot of fun watching it. With Nicolas Cage as Dracula - How could I not?
It's been 33 years between Fletch movies and I think it was worth the wait. Any reason to get Jon Hamm and John Slattery in a room talking to each other is good enough for me - but in all honesty, I really really enjoyed this movie. I wish it got more attention so there could be more.
The Rock giveth and The Rock taketh away. This movie left me feeling bittersweet. Sweet because of the cameo at the end. Bitter because it was probably the last time we'll see that man play that character.
And also bitter because this movie was just...meh.
I started this movie with a frozen burrito for breakfast and ended the movie during some Hot Pockets at lunch. As you can see, I'm a huge foodie so this movie was right up my ally. In all seriousness, this movie was dark, fun, scary, weird, and with great acting. My compliments to the chefs!
Marvel, Ryan Coogler, and the cast of this movie really could not have done a better job with crafting this sequel - especially under the real life circumstances - as well as they did. I definitely had some chopped onions nearby.
What's your favorite scary movie? I'll tell that mine - is not this. I didn't hate it, and there was a bunch I did like about it - but my eyes did roll more than once as I tried to figure out what crazy person was wearing the Ghostface mask this time...
This movie was everything I expected and more. Bonkers. Crazy. Ridiculous. Absurd. And I am saying those with the highest level of compliment. The most shocking thing to me is the Motion Picture Academy were smart enough to give the Oscar to this wild, fun, emotional - incredibly acted - ride.
This movie will definitely have to be rewatched - so I can try to figure out all the things I KNOW I missed....
In a shocking turn of events, I'm watching a Marvel movie! Yup, I'm probably the last MCU fan in the world to see this one.
And just like that it's June again! Welcome back movie nerds to another 30 days of movies. Another 30 days of podcasts. Another 30 days of dear ol' Mikey watching and talking a movie he's never every day this month! And what makes this even crazier is - this is the TENTH year of Movie Month! This year will mark the 300th movie and the 240th podcast (remember those first two years were just boring blogs you had to read.)
And yes, there will be multiple times this month you'll say - wait he hasn't seen this movie yet? Including this one! Yup, I missed it in the theaters, and decided to wait to watch for a special occasion.
I think this fits the bill....See you tomorrow!

This feels weird. There's only one more day of Marchy McFly left after today. I'm not sure what to think. In one way, this month has flown by - but on the other hand it feels like my life now is just watching and podcasting about Back to the Future Part III - so I am not sure how it's going to feel once it's all over. But that day is not today. No, today I talk mostly about what the future held for the primary actors in this movie - and there might be a little singing as well....
It's just another Manic Wednesday....Nah, that didn't work. No wonder Prince changed it to Monday. Anyway - Happy day 29 everybody! Today I talk a tiny bit about some notes, and focus most of the time talking about Doc and Clara's sons, Jules...And Verne. I found a reddit page talking about the actor who played Verne that was kind've interesting. And I look up a little about those Pres-To-Logs (which I guess is how they're actually spelled). I did work on something else for the show - BUT - decided to save it for tomorrow...Ooh a tease! Well you'll have to come back then to see what I'm talking about! Please do, I only have a couple of these left!!!
Normal? Well, most of them are - but one of them still looks like all that time travel Marty went through did end up changing him....But guess what isn't changed - ME watching Back to the Future Part III again! Yes for the 28th day in a row I watched this movie and for the 28th day in a row I am here talking about it.
BUT - for the first day in a row, I am welcoming back another longtime friend and frequent guest to show, my good pal Jason - the very man who discovered that Alternate-1985 Biff had a crippling cocaine addiction. Enjoy!

Happy Final Sunday, Everybody! Even though Yesterday’s episode image shows Marty about to give Doc a bit of Chester’s “Wake Up Juice,” I took some time today to talk that crazy concoction. I mention how it is written in the novelization and compare that to how it is written in the “Paradox” script.
And even though I don’t take it as far as actually making the drink myself (dammit I can’t believe I didn’t think of doing that!), I did find some YouTube channels that attempt to do just that. Check out these videos from Cocktail Chemistry (which references the Paradox script) and from How To Drink (which looks to just be using what’s on the screen as a reference).
Both try to make the drink exactly and then try making some actual cocktails based on Joey and Chester’s mixture.

Saturday....On the Pod...I think it was the 4th of July...I mean 25th of March! Well here we are - our first "LAST" episode is upon us. It’s Wednesday, everybody! And as of today we are in the final stretch of shows. The final ten! This weekend will be the final weekend. Next week will be the final week. I feel like it’s been going on forever and at the same time it’s been flying by! I guess that’s how time works though, right? You don’t realize how much has passed until it’s already gone – and there isn’t a DeLorean or stolen train that allows you to go back. Wait, did I just get deep and philosophical? NERD ALERT! Anywho, today I watched Back to the Future Part III for the 22nd time this month and much like the other day – I have no idea what today’s podcast is going to be about since I wrote this out before I did the podcast. Sounds like another gem. Enjoy.
BREAKING: I know what I talked about now – because I have since talked about it. After I fill some time talking about bowling (no, I’m not kidding), I take a “Back to the Future Part III: The Ultimate Geek Quiz” online quiz from Zoo.com. It wasn’t as ultimate as it claims to be, but I did get a perfect score.

Much like Buford "Mad Dog" (he hates that name) Tannen, I do my killing before breakfast - and by killing, I mean killing off the 20th viewing of Back to the Future Part III because I was able to watch about 50% of the movie before breakfast, another 25% before I started working - and then the final 25% during a break that I prescribed for myself. Now I am no mathema-whatzit, but I think that means I watched the entire movie before my lunch break so I have to find something else to watch while I'm eating those frozen burritos I keep buying even though I shouldn't....
And what do I talk about in today's episode - well, beat's me!? I wrote this before I recorded it, so I'm as excited as you are to find out what the hell I said today.

In the future, we don't need horses. We have motorized carriages called automobiles. And today, I recorded the entire episode of Marchy McFly in one such automobile. No notes, no computer, no distractions (unless you count trying to drive safely). Today, I tried to focus my thoughts talking about the third most important character in this movie - the lovely and wonderful Clara Clayton, played by the lovely and wonderful Mary Steenburgen.

I have to talk about what is going on....at the McFly Farm. I also think I come up with a good alternative for what Lea Thompson could have been doing rather than suddenly being a McFly-by-marriage two different times!

Oh I know he made quick visit to see Gilligan before leaving them all to die on the island - but this time Santa was much, much nicer....

While I was born in the 1970s, I definitely was not a child of the 70s - definitely more the 80s (grammar school) and 90s (high school and college) - but that didn't stop me from loving this show when it first premiered...back in the 90s. Most of the main cast have gone on to have some great careers - and then there is that one fella who was doing pretty good until it came out that...well, I'll talk about it more during the show. Sure it was another Christmas Carol spoof, and sure there was no Grady, but we still had Redd Foxx throwing insults left and right while learning the true meaning of Christmas - so it is all worth it.

This episode should be called "How to make anything a Christmas episode without much effort." The reason I say this is - even though I enjoyed the episode, it was barely a Christmas episode. It had its Christmas-y moments, but it was more a "let's use some of that old footage we have" episode. And by old footage I mean months old - because this is still the first season!
These episode titles really aren't that original this year so far. Yesterday was "A Christmas Story" while today is just "Christmas Story?" I mean I guess it gets to the point without giving anything away - not that there was much mystery or intrigue to give away. You can watch this episode of Mr. Belvedere yourself on YouTube. I also mentioned a "Final Taping" BTS video from the series finale of Mr. Belvedere that I found - so check that out too.

Well hell, then you have the Facts of Life....I used to love this show as a kid, though I never understood how the Drummonds' housekeeper was qualified to be the housemother to an all girls school (nor how that school only had four students after the first season). But who cares!? That's television bay-bay!

I forgot how much I loved the Golden Girls - just like I forgot what it was like to not know how to tap dance and also not be smart enough to even think about medical school.

Last year I started the Insidious franchise, and I have to tell you I kinda have a guilty spot in my heart for these James Wan/Leigh Whannell horror series. This wasn't anything special, or anything all that original (of course that is rare for a 3rd part in a franchise) but it was effective and enjoyable for the folks who enjoy this franchise. And it's free to stream on Tubi.
Okay, so I lied. I thought I was more than likely done with superheroes and with Marvel movies, but then out of nowhere I looked on Disney Plus and saw that this movie was already available after debuting in theaters about a month and a half ago.
Well, it was out of nowhere to me. I had no idea it was coming this quickly. And of course as I talk about this movie - be warned of spoilers. If you haven't seen it yet and you care about spoilers, don't listen. Download still obviously - but then go watch the movie and come back and listen. I'll wait for you....
Month. Movie Month. This is by far the latest I've finished a movie month day this year - but that's what happens when you watch such a long movie and start it so late! Today I went on another action adventure romp, but this time with better acting, better action, and way better effects. I liked it. I hope you watched it already, because I definitely spoil things....
I realized today that this isn't the last Ryan Reynolds movie I have on my list this year. It might be the last one I watch - the third one this movie month - but then again it might not be...It was pretty much exactly what I thought it would be - and I'm okay with that.
Shhhh! You have to be very very quiet if you want to survive this podcast. Today (I'm typing this as if I'm whispering) I watched a pretty good sequel to a really good movie. I shouldn't say too much else, or otherwise I may draw too much attention - not that "too much attention" has ever been an issue for this podcast....

Happy Saturday fellow good looking people! Today I watched a prequel to the Kingsman movies that is simply called "The King's Man." I did not like it as much as the original 2 Kingsman movies, mainly because it was not as good as those movies - BUT - I still found that there was stuff in there to enjoy.
So I enjoyed that stuff.
Sometimes a movie comes along that just hits you in the right spot perfectly, and today was one of those movies. A very small western with great characters, great acting, and some moments that left my jaw hanging right open. Well one moment for sure. Happy Thursday movie nerds! Today was a lighthearted fun romp, and my second (and still possibly not last) Ryan Reynolds movie of the month. And his second movie directed by Shawn Levy. Watched it early today so I can (hopefully) enjoy the Celtics tonight. If you don't follow basketball, you'll probably realize how they do tonight by my mood tomorrow....But until then - enjoy this movie. I did.
We're here! We're at the halfway point of year 9 of Movie Month already! Today I watched a Nicolas Cage movie that was NOT exactly what I was expecting - and that is in no way a complaint. Another rare, small, not-a-franchise movie today - with some fantastic performances.
I must say - I thoroughly enjoyed today's movie. I thought it made fun of how the world in this country is today, but also made me think - yeah there's a good chance that's how the world really would react.
What made this movie more fun is that part of it was filmed in Massachusetts at the beach I take my dog to in the Fall and Winter. I went down there when I knew they were filming, and although it was after the fact there were still some remnants of the production. There were these huge tents that I assume they used for the cast and crew, and then there some things I saw that made it on camera.
I this scene, where people are watching a rocket launch....Well that was all digitally added - but the countdown clock screen was very real...
And with all the reports and news vans there - you get a glimpse of one on camera.
That was one of three prop news vans I saw there that day.
Cast wise it looks like it was mostly extras - but maybe some of the actors who spoke were actually there, but it looked like a lot of work went into something that was only on screen for a couple minutes.
Makes you realize just how much goes into movies. And again this movie - I really liked....#JustLookUp
Welcome back movie nerds! It's a new week and a new day of movie month. I wonder if I should start a new tradition of watching a horror movie on the 13th day of every month. I may have accidentally done so it the past - and this is probably more of a dark comedy than a horror movie - so maybe...maybe I'll start a new tradition of doing a horror movie OR a horror comedy on the 13th of every month.
Or maybe I'll forget and this will be the last time you hear about it - either way I really enjoyed today's movie...
Oh cool, another franchise. I knew I was going to watch this movie sometime this month, but it wasn't until this morning that I decided today would be the day. I love the first Matrix. I've seen the two sequels...
This falls somewhere in between for me. I think it's probably the best sequel even though there were moments I was had no idea why things were happening, nor did I care enough to stop and try to figure them out. I just came along for the ride, which sometimes is good enough for me.
Finally. Really, what else is there to say? Finally I saw this movie. Am I the last comic book and comic book movie fan on Earth to see "Spider-Man: No Way Home?" It is quite possible. Was it worth the wait? Hell, that is quite probable....but why not listen to find out for sure...
My dog woke me up at 5:15am this morning. So while I was awake I thought - let's watch today's movie. I wasn't sure exactly what I was going to watch, but looking at my list of potentials I thought - this one should be an easy one to get through this early. And it pretty much was.
Sure there were a lot of eye-rolling moments, but I admit M. Night Shyamalan movies are a bit of a guilty pleasure of mine, even the more recent ones. In fact, this is the fifth Shyamalan movie that he's either directed or written that I've covered for Movie Month (including the first movie month movie ever).
And I have to admit, I enjoy them all, and I enjoyed this movie - even though I know what I'm watching is not that great - there are still some fun/creepy moments to watch in between eye-rolls.
What is this? A movie not based on a book? Not based on a comic? Not part of a franchise? Not a remake? A reboot? A reebok sneaker? Today I watched the Netflix film, The Adam Project. A fun action/adventure family-friendly movie revolving around time travel. Gee, I wonder if I liked it...
Happy Wednesday Geeks! Did you know that today's movie was not nominated for any Academy or Critics Choice Awards? However it was nominated both for "Favorite Movie" by People's Choice Awards and, more impressively, it was nominated for "Worst Film of the Year" by the Hawaii Film Critics Society.
It lost out to Space Jam: A New Legacy.
While this movie is not high art, it's not the worst movie I've seen (I'm talking about in these last 8 days even). It knows what it is and it tried to have some fun with it.
For six days I've yet to watch a movie that isn't part of some sort of franchise - and the tradition continues with the 2022 Scream. It was okay - better than Scream 4 - but most movies are....
Eternals. That seems like a fitting title for a movie that just kept going and going and going. I didn't hate this movie, but I far from loved it. It was.....it just - was. Going in, this was the Marvel movie I was looking forward to the least and in that sense it did not disappoint. That being said, there was stuff I enjoyed in it. What exactly? Well you'll have to listen to find out.
It's Sunday Funday fellow Earthlings! Today I watched the most recent moving picture in the Harry Potter universe - the one not many people like or saw in the theater. There's some stuff I did like about it and stuff I didn't - and I talk about it in my backyard again. WHAT A PODCAST!
It's Saturday! It's Day 4 - and it's Marvel Again! Today I watched the quite enjoyable action-adventure comic book romp, "Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings." And right now as I am typing this my dog is at the door - so I am going to go take her out. I hope you enjoy my thoughts on this fun movie.
It's FRIDAY! I'm in a good mood because the weekend is here, the Celtics won last night, and I finally watched the new Ghostbusters movie that had me smiling pretty much the entire time. I mean, did you really think I was NOT going to like it?
It's Thursday! It's Day 2! And I am finally getting back into the Marvel swing of things. Tonight I watched Black Widow and almost got the entire podcast recorded before my friend showed up to watch the Celtics game and almost ruin this wonderful show. Almost - I'm too professional to let that happen.
Wait, it's June again already??? Boy did that go by fast! I can't believe it's already year 9 of Movie Month! This year, I am ready to watch 30 more movies (Movies 241-270) in 30 days - and then talk about it right here to all your smart, good looking people with amazing taste in podcasts. Let's kick off the year going back to a world that some say is furious. Some say is fast. Some say is dumb. Some say is silly. I say - can't it be all of the above!?
We did it! 31 days of Marchy McFly 2 comes to an end with the 31st and final watching of "Back to the Future Part II" and this the 31st and final podcast episode. I saved the biggest for last as I do my best to retell the movie, scene-by-scene, with nothing but my memory. Did I get everything correct - I seriously doubt it. Do I care that much - I seriously do not! It's not about being perfect - it's about having fun and enjoying this movie, which I definitely did even with all my critiques.
And while one chapter of Marchy McFly comes to an end - remember there are only eleven months until we get to do it all over again, and I sure as hell cannot wait!
The final day before the final day is upon us! Day 30! I can't believe it's already here. Today, I pretty much finish up any notes I had left and talk about what I plan doing tomorrow for the big finale of year two. Oh, today I finally saw the razors Biff obviously uses for his cocaine addiction. One more time, tomorrow!

I was so disappointed that I didn't include any audio from it - I just talked about it.

Happy Sunday you Future-holics. I wanted to focus today's episode on George McFly. After being such a major part of the first film, the character was barely used in this sequel, and we all know why. With Crispin Glover deciding not to participate in the sequels, producers turned to fairly unknown actor named Jeffrey Weissman to fill the penny loafers of Marty McFly's dad in the few scenes he was in. And yet - we still see Crispin Glover in this movie!

Then over 12 hours later I sat down to talk about it (after a fun night out with my wife, niece, and nephew). I wanted to focus mostly on some 1985A today - but I wrote this at 2pm - so I wonder if I end up doing just that....We'll find out in the future.

Laverne & Shirley will always go down as one of THE staple shows of my childhood. Do I remember every single episode? No chance – but it is one of the few shows that takes me back to being a little kid growing up in late 70s and early 1980s. 39 years and 4 days. That's how long it took for the original Blade Runner to finally be seen by these handsome eyes. A movie that has so many different version that I couldn't limit myself to just one....
I've had this on my radar all month long and knew without a doubt I wasn't going to finish out the month and not watch it - and I so glad for that fact. What a well-crafted movie with some fantastic performances. Everything I was expecting and more. So good.
And we finish up the Christopher Morris Weekend Spectacular with another movie he's been after me to watch for some time. In fact, this has been sitting in the "drafts" folder on the website for over a year. In that time the Rotten Tomatoes score when up 1% and the service I used to watch switched over from HBO Max to Tubi. What does that have to do with the movie itself? Not much. It's a long one. It's a violent one. But was it a good one? Ooh that's called a tease - listen and find out!

Here's a movie that was not on my list at all, but I stumbled upon it this morning and said - yup, this is my day 25 movie. And then I watched it. And then I talked about it. And now you're reading this. There's really not that much else that goes into it. I'm a pretty simple guy.
Yet another movie that has been on my list for years and somehow I keep forgetting to finally watch it. Until today. Today I remembered to no longer forget to watch it. So I did. I remembered to forget. AND I watched it. Try to keep up.
I know so little about the Tom Clancy literary world, or the "Ryanverse" - but I can tell that Amazon sees a franchise on their hands and will try to make that happen - starting with this movie (and their Jack Ryan series). Was this movie great? No. Was it okay? Yeah, I think that's the best way to describe it. Am I glad I watched? I think so. Either way, I do sing during this episode so that should be worth a download.
I told you! I told you I was going to watch part two of this series, so you really shouldn't be surprised. Today I got home from Mystic, CT and either am watching the movie at home or I watched it early this morning in the hotel room. Can you tell that I wrote this on Sunday night? It's called PLANNING AHEAD!!!
This one has been on the list probably since it premiered back in 2018. Finally getting to it and happy I am finally seeing it. You can use finally twice in one sentence. Yes you can. Anywho, I woke up super early to watch this one today because we're off to Mystic, CT today to go visit the aquarium down there. Staying overnight too, but there's no way I am not getting my movie in. I'm an adult with responsible priorities. Obvi.
While it is hard for me to see Patrick Wilson married to another movie in a horror movie, I have come to terms with it and look forward to delving deeper into the "Insidious" world. Also - no road rage today! Happy Sunday!
Another movie where you're going to say, wait he hasn't seen that yet? Great movie. Pod goes a little off the rails when some jerk on a motorcycle flips me off for a reason I am still not sure about, but it happens whilst recording and well - there are no second takes!
This morning I enjoyed a little venture into space with my (homemade) breakfast burritos. The entire experience was a positive one. I really enjoyed my breakfast and I really enjoyed this movie. A total victory. Ain't life grand?
I love me some Bob Odenkirk, so when I first caught wind about this movie I was super excited to see it. And then I saw it. And guess what - I'm probably more excited. This Nobody sure was somebody. I don't think that was a strong line to go out on, so I added this sentence so maybe you'd forget about that last one.
Another time related movie. Another TIME LOOP movie. And another time loop HULU original movie! The irony is not lost on me that I have been doing pretty much the exact same thing for the past 16 days of my life. I'm very meta. And this movie - is a lot of fun.
Today is another one of those, "You haven't seen this movie yet?" movies. And since the fact that this is today's movie already answers that question, perhaps I can take the rest of this text to just gush over how amazing Jake Gyllenhaal's performance was on this role. Oh you already knew that? Well, aren't you special...
Finally! Finally, I've seen this movie. I can't believe it took me this long. I saw parts 2 and 3 in the theater, but missed out on this entry in the series. I then planned on saving it for a movie month, and don't even remember if I could have watched it last year - but here we are! Again, finally. To infinity....and....you know the rest!
Today I finally ventured to a place I thought I'd never go to see a Movie Month entry - Tubi! But after listening to a podcast (After Lunch podcast) mention this movie recently (aka yesterday) I realized, I'd never seen this movie! And it's that what true meaning of Movie Month is, kids? Robert Downey Jr., Val Kilmer, AND Shane Black? How could I not enjoy this 2005 take on the classic film noir genre...
Happy Superman Day! Today I celebrated the Man of Steel by watching – Superman III? On purpose? Well, you can imagine what I thought about this movie. On second thought, don’t imagine, listen and find out for sure!
So I watch this movie and enjoy it enough for what it is - but then forget to mention the "funniest" kill of the movie (think elevator) and I find out after the fact that there is an animated prequel coming to Netflix starring much of the same cast. I guess Netflix is in the Zack Snyder business!
If you've never heard of this movie, that's okay - now you have. Watch it. Now. I'll wait. Okay, welcome back. What did you think? Me too. Bonkers. Silly. Weird. Dumb. All of the above. And so, so, so much fun.
This movie made me want to put on a track suit and get a much cooler accent. So much fun, and I am glad I finally watched it.
Today, I rip the band-aid off of the X-Men franchise hopefully for the last time. The last couple X-Men moves have been pretty bad and it seems like the original franchise is going out with a whimper. Hopefully Disney will rescue (some of) these characters.
I called an audible today. I fully went into today planning on doing a different movie, but when I went to the HBO Max site and saw this highlighted, I realized I've never seen it and I totally wanted to. So I did. And spoiler alert: I loved it. But still listen so you can at least hear my voice. My sweet, sweet voice.
What is it with me and all these time related movies this month? Ain’t nobody got time for that! Is that still a thing? I kinda feel like that’s not a thing anymore. Oh, and I really dug today’s movie. Big Andy Samberg fan, and a fun as hell movie. Hulu’s website still stinks though.
I'm not much of a drinker - but parts of this movie makes me wish I drank more. Other parts make me happy that I don't. All in all, there's movie won the Oscar for Best International Film. I have one simple rule with foreign language films - no English dubbing. Read like an adult.
I like these Christopher Landon movies because they take an established concept and just add a little twist – and a lot of gore. Good family fun!
The Warrens are back! I realized today that I really enjoy watching Vera Farmiga and Patrick Wilson play these characters, and hope this isn't the end. I think this might be the first "same day" movies where it was also released in theaters. Sure, I am looking forward to going back to the movies - but if I can choose couch over theater - couch win every times.
Finally I saw the giant lizard fight the giant gorilla. Did I like this as much as the last Godzilla movie? Well, you're going to have to listen if you want to find out. C'mon, you've come this far. Hit play. Do it. I dare you.
I have to admit - this movie blew my mind. It could be related to lack of sleep, and I am pretty sure I understood a good 54% of what I was seeing - but what I did comprehend, I enjoyed the hell out of.

Let the good times roll with my first pick of the month - the 2020 "Bill and Ted Face The Music" - one of the many movies that totally got screwed by that pesky pandemic. For the first time in a long time I sat down and watched the 1980 Richard Lester (sorta Donner) film, "Superman II." And let me tell you as great as Christopher Reeve is, this movie just was not as good as I used to think it was.
It's been too many years since I've last watched "Superman: The Movie" - probably the first memory I have of anything having to do with Superman. It's between that and Super Friends, but for the sake of this podcast - let's go with the movie. I had a ton of fun revisiting this movie on HBO Max, and I think this needs to be a yearly tradition movie - maybe at like Thanksgiving? I dunno, none of that comes up in the podcast. Or does it? Only one way to find out...
Back in the saddle again, baybay! I told you I'd start watching all the Superman feature films to grace the big screen - it just took me a bit longer to get there. Today I finally rewatched the first time any DC Superhero was in the theater in a feature length movie (apparently 58 minutes counts) when I saw the kinda silly, kinda boring, "Superman and the Mole-Men" starring George Reeves for the first time as the Man of Steel.
31 days of watching and podcast about Back to the Future is now complete. Marchy McFly is officially over.....for now. Tonight I try, while out for a walk, to give you scene by scene retelling of this time traveling tale. I know I don't get it all right, but I think I come pretty close. Greetings from another day in sunny Florida. It's day 30. The final day before the final day! Guess what I did this morning? I woke up early and...wait for it...watched Back to the Future for the 30th time in 30 days! I recorded today's show from The Garden of Hope and Courage outside the hospital taking care of my father-in-law. They were only allowing two people in so I had some time to kill. Later on in the day, after visiting with him, I went into two stores and saw a total of three pricks without masks on. I want to fight the state of Florida. Oh and I talk about Back to the Future a bit (and even added a new thought!) Until tomorrow! Until our final day together!
Day 29! Coming to you from Florida, where old men walk out of Dunkin Donuts without masks and little tiny flames of fire burn in my eyes! But we landed safely yesterday and got to see my wife's dad before visiting hours ended. Went back and spent some time today (and brought him a Frosty from Wendy's). But of course in the morning - while just awaking from my slumber, sleep still in my stunning eyes - I watched Back to the Future for the 29th time! And tonight, under the cover of darkness, I roamed the untamed streets of Naples and talked about a few things - including this amazing movie that I will NEVER get tired of! Ever! We did it! We reached the "end" (for now) of Big Screen Batman, where today I watched the FOUR HOUR epic retelling of Justice League in 2021's "Zack Snyder's Justice League" on HBO Max. Spoiler Alert: I enjoyed myself for four hours today. And then for another 50 minutes talking about it!
Day Eighteen! This second half already feels like it's going by faster than the first half. Before you know it, we'll be in the 20s and on the final stretch! Today I thought it would be fun to scan the IMDB trivia of the movie, but the page is SO long that I stopped and saved the rest for future episodes. Only 13 to go! Where does the time go?

Everything is still pretty awesome with The Lego Movie 2: The Second Part, even if it's essentially more of the same. More of the same of a great thing can still be very good. A lot of fun, still great to look at it. And of course - LEGO BATMAN was there!

It's Friday Night! I remember when I turned 10 getting in a car and telling my grandmother that I've hit double digits and thinking that was a big deal. 34 years later and I am starting to wonder if I have it in me to hit triple digits. If I do, you can bet I'll be in some sort of futuristic space nursing home and I'll be watching "Back to the Future" on whatever people are watching classic movies on in the year 2076.

Another "Big Screen Batman" and another movie I've already done in Movie Month. This is not a "Batman Movie" in the truest sense of the word, but it is a movie with Batman - and the predecessor to Justice League - so of course I was going to do another podcast on 2016's "Suicide Squad!"
A movie featuring MY two favorite Superheroes? Um, yeah I was going to like this no matter what. But here's the thing - when I rewatched, this time the 3-hour Ultimate Edition - I enjoyed it! In fact, I enjoyed it probably even more than I remembered!
And no doubt I was excited to see this movie all the way back in 2013 when I first heard it was happening. Check out my blog post about it.
Everything is Awesome! This is a big screen movie - and Batman is in it. So yeah, this counts! This movie is so much fun and so enjoyable just to look at. Will Arnett steals the show as the Caped Crusader - so I try to focus mostly on him.
The end of an era. The end of Christian Bale as the Bat. The end of Christopher Nolan as the director. The end of live action Batman movies with good Rotten Tomatoes scores. Tonight I talked about the final film in Nolan's Dark Knight Trilogy, and even though I haven't seen fully since the theater, I walked away from it this second time around with mostly positive feelings. Now you have my permission to listen...
An almost perfect movie, last night I watched the amazing 2008 Christopher Nolan follow to Batman Begins, "The Dark Knight."
After all the gifts and all the time with the same family in my bubble that I see all the time anyway - it was finally time to sit down at night and enjoy Wonder Woman 1984 on HBO Max! And enjoy it....I mostly did. Listen now to get all of my sleepy 48 hour later thoughts!
Finally, a movie to restore faith in my love of Batman again. The age of the fluorescents is over as I rewatch for the first time in years a movie that I forgot how much I love! Christian Bale takes on the cape and cowl for the first time as the Caped Crusader in the Christopher Nolan 2005 film, Batman Begins.
It was good. Really good.
I never thought a movie would make me like Batman Forever - but this one sure did. A big, dumb attempt at comic book camp that failed in almost every aspect. But guess what? George Clooney had nothing to do with the problems of this movie. He tried his best to make 1997's "Batman & Robin" a big screen hero. But it turned out to be a big screen dud.
Riddle me this. Riddle me that. Who had to watch this not very good Bat....man movie? ME! I did! I thought I was going to like this one, and it didn't take me long to start making faces at my television.
It's not all bad - but it definitely was mostly bad. Batman Forever? More like Batman never again!
I was a senior in high school when "Batman: Mask of the Phantasm" came out in theaters. Now do you think being a senior in high school and recently having a girlfriend (now my wife) is going to stop this cool dude from going to see an animated Batman movie in a second-run movie theater with his older brother and friend who were both in college?

I talk about how psyched the 13 year old version of me was to see this movie when it first came out - and 31 year later how much I still enjoyed it.
I'm basically the same person as that 13 year old kid. Slightly more gray hair.
After 15 seasons - 11 of which I watched first-run (after catching up through Netflix DVDs), we say goodbye to the little show that could. And did. I wasn't about to let this occasion go by and do nothing! So I give my thoughts on the show and on how it all ends. Hope you enjoy!

Imagine if you will - a SyFy original monster movie with a big budget. Ladies and Gentlemen - I give you "The Meg." I wanted to like this so much more than I did. I found it somewhat enjoyable but.....yet also not so enjoyable. So yeah, I ramble a lot in this episode...

Do you like boxing? Do you like training montages? Are you or do you know anyone who considers themselves cool? Then Creed II is the movie for you! The follow up to Rocky, Rocky II, Rocky III, Rocky IV, Rocky V, Rocky Balboa, and Creed - Creed II is a great follow up to the first one, while also bringing back a major villain from Rocky IV and also Flavor Flav's ex-girlfriend. All jokes aside, I loved it.
