Question 1: I am having difficulty understanding how we can remove the concept of the State from a society which practices the concept of property ownership. George Washington was unanimously elected as the first president of the United States of America after winning the American Revolutionary War as the Commander-in-Chief of the Continental Army.
Washington was first called "Father of his Country" three years after the beginning of the Revolutionary War – a status he earned not only for his military accomplishments, but also because of the numerous virtues he was perceived to possess as a human being.
But within Washington's impeccable character, one quality stood out the most – a unique immunity to the corrupting effects of power, which stemmed from his selfless nature. "I often say of George Washington that he was one of the few in the whole history of the world who was not carried away by power," stated Robert Frost, "America's great poet-philosopher."
After overthrowing the tyranny of the British Empire, Americans were unwilling to trust anyone with the power of a central government, yet in George Washington they saw a man who had transcended human fallibility. "Had he lived in the days of idolatry," the Pennsylvania Journal noted in 1777, Washington would have been "worshipped as a god."
How could such a man ever abuse his power, let alone become a tyrant? Furthermore, if men like Washington exist and can be elected into power, perhaps the United States government would never follow in the footsteps of the hated British Empire.
Does the mortal George Washington live up to his immortal legend? What is the Truth About George Washington?

David Letterman has been involved in the entertainment industry for over forty years and tends to be a very divisive figure. Whether you’re a fan or not, everybody knows the name David Letterman and his sarcastic wit has left an imprint on generations of observers. A deeply private man, Letterman’s relationship with his own celebrity and success is as complicated as it is fascinating. At many points in his career it seemed the only thing Letterman feared more than outright failure were the consequences and pressure of his own achievements. For a man who often took the wind out of pompous, egotistical celebrities – who dared to take themselves too seriously – Letterman was a workaholic, nearly obsessed with achieving perfection in his performances, and left a trail of broken relationships in his wake. Subjective opinions abound, but what is The Truth About David Letterman? | Sources: http://www.fdrurl.com/david-letterman

It is very tempting to spend one’s anger and outrage on particular manifestations of an unjust system – but all that does is pretend that the rest of the system is somehow just. Ayn Rand's novel ‘Anthem,’ the difficulty of achieving excellence, putting people in personality type cages, to categorization is dehumanization, the chains of unchosen familial roles, pushing circumcision on new parents, children as proxy wars, preserving sibling relationships, trying to escape emotions through immediate action, society as a self-correcting system, the evolution of individualism, having the back of the people you care about and female driven male isolation.

Stefan Molyneux answers listener questions including: Do you think strict rules designed to change future behavior are a good thing or a bad thing? How can a market properly deal with the issue of wage fixing and illegal collusion among businesses to keep wages down? Is the non-aggression principle like a social contract? Why do children develop impulsiveness? Do you have advice for raising boys? Can there be such a thing as anarcho-socialism? If someone was hoarding the only antidote to an epidemic that was exterminating the human race - would it violate non-aggression principle to seize the antidote?
The caller wrote: “Most people, including Stefan, advocate committed relationships. However, I feel that voluntarism says that the best relationships are when both parties are allowed to behave and go as they wish to. How do we reconcile the idea of using social pressure and legality to force people to stay together through marriage with the basic principles of voluntarism?
Furthermore, if the morality and justification of the practice of marriage is all about children, then why are there so many rules applied to the parents and not to the treatment of children? Wouldn't we be better off advocating a new form of contract that focused exclusively on raising children correctly? Or advocating no contracts at all between free and trustworthy people!?
Marriage seems to miss the point by focusing on the two people staying together sexually and financially instead of on properly raising children. It seems immoral and counterproductive that we would advocate the complete sacrifice of parent's long term happiness for children
I am extremely interested in polyamory, but I am worried I am wasting time in my goals of having a family. How do I reconcile my instincts regarding marriage and monogamy with the apparent ideals set forth by Stefan? When I think of following Stefan's advice regarding dating, I see a long if not permanent period of celibacy in my future. Does Stefan advise celibacy in the dating process? Did he follow that? Isn't sex extremely important for someone to be productive and happy?”
A repeated pattern in my life has been the pursuit of a certain goal, the attainment of that goal and then disappointment. I am confused about what is real and fearful of change while surrounded by spouse, family, friends, and colleagues who will reject me should I reject my religion. How can a philosophical approach help me with this schism in my life? | Socrates said he knew nothing except that he knew nothing. Is there an objective standard for determining what is Art? The common definition is subjective, using this standard the work of a deranged person smearing feces has the same value as a masterpiece done by a methodically trained, accomplished and dedicated artist. An incredible look into relationships and dating with two powerful conversations. In ‘The Philosophy of Forgiveness’ it is said that for every bad moment it takes ten good ones to make up for it. The Federal Reserve Bank of New York's underground vault supposedly holds 7,716 tons of gold bullion - most of it in trust for foreign nations, central banks and official international organizations. The United States Bullion Depository, known as Fort Knox, is a fortified vault located within the United States Army post of Fort Knox, Kentucky, and used to store a large portion of United States gold reserves. Over the years, the mainstream media has continually fanned the flames of racial division within the United States – and this has only intensified in light of the Trayvon Martin, Michael Brown and Eric Garner situations. In this presentation, we aim to briefly discuss some shocking inaccuracies within the mainstream media portrayal of various events. Inaccuracies which are so incredibly brazen and deliberate that they undeniably illustrate intentions to convey a false narrative to the general public. Distorting reality does victims of every race, color, and creed an incredible disservice, and it is our goal to expose the false media narratives by presenting The Truth About the Race War.

Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays everybody! A deeply emotional look at the Christmas Truce of 1914 - which was a series of widespread but unofficial ceasefires between German and British soldiers during World War I. In the week leading up to the holiday, soldiers crossed trenches to exchange seasonal greetings and talk. There were joint burial ceremonies and prisoner swaps, while several meetings ended in carol-singing. Men played games of football with one another, giving one of the most enduring images of the period. An excerpt from The Truth About World War 1: The Hidden History.
If you've spent any time on the internet, you've probably heard of Google's evil ways, which are most-often associated with the amount of personal data the company collects and the privacy issues that come along with this practice.
"Big Brother is coming: Google, mass surveillance, and the rise of the 'Internet of Things'" - this is the title of a recent Salon article, which is hardly exceptional amongst online media outlets. Google is watching you. Indeed, the public image of the company is often shrouded in the Orwellian aura of terms like "surveillance" and "spying."
Google is not particularly secretive about collecting user information, and online privacy advocates have documented the extent of this practice exceptionally well. The internet giant does know a lot about you - your search history, location, the content of your emails and online storage; the list goes on and on and you can watch this video by Alltime Conspiracies to find out more on this topic.

Have you ever asked yourself why the company provides all these great services for free?

Why can't other value systems - like God - achieve the same outcomes as Universally Preferable Behavior? You site the work of Charles Murray, Steven Pinker, and Nicholas Wade often when analyzing various topics and I have read books by all three authors - most recently reading "A Troublesome Inheritance" by Nicholas Wade. If what Nicholas Wade proposes in his book is indeed, biologically speaking, the actual narrative of our ancestral past, then how is this incompatible with the more "anthropological" approaches to history, such as Jared Diamond's "Guns, Germs, and Steel? Why can't these two be compatible? Also, a very important question regarding Wade's book, why do you think he titled it "A Troublesome Inheritance?" "Troublesome" for who? Why does it always seem like people with issues are drawn to me for consolation - and then leave me when they don't need me anymore?
I work in a Chinese school that still uses punishment – is it peaceful enough? Do you consider Nietzsche to be an Authoritarian? In reading Universally Preferable Behavior (UPB), I noticed that it did not include a proof for moral consideration, or how to identify whether or not something is a factor in the realm of morality. I feel stuck in this anger stage - how do I move forward and make peace with the past? --- Some people say that having children is aesthetically negative or morally wrong because the parent will inevitably transmit or project his/her unprocessed childhood trauma to the child. A look at the aftermath of the Ray Rice/Janay Palmer Domestic Violence Situation, the Adrian Peterson Child Abuse incident and the reaction from the mainstream media.
Overcoming feelings of loneliness, non-existence around narcissists, cynicism is the scar-tissue of cowardice, the science of happiness, the morality of murder and theft, universal ethics, moving past guilt without the possibility of restitution, escaping a decade long drug-addiction, swinging between over-confidence and under-confidence in work and relationships, male biology as a penis replication machine, avoiding estrogen based parasites and the glory of skepticism.
On the heels of the Ray Rice scandal, the National Football League has been rocked by yet another controversy - this time involving the winner of the 2012 NFL MVP Award. From April 2010 to April 2012, the IRS approved only four applications from conservative groups with names like “Tea Party,” “Patriots,” or “9/12” while green-lighting applications from several dozen organizations whose names included the likely left-leaning terms “Progressive,” “Progress,” “Liberal,” or “Equality.”

Rather, it was found that, "While it may be appropriate to recommend family separation in cases of abuse, the Member did not obtain a sufficient history to ascertain whether the advice was warranted in the circumstances discussed in the podcasts."
