Italy were held to extra time in their first knockout game against Austria. A Federico Chiesa goal was needed to break the deadlock 100 minutes into the game. In the earlier game, however, Denmark easily got the better of a rubbish Wales and move on to the quarters. Joe tries to keep up with Seb and Alex as the team make their predictions ahead of Euro2020. Who will be the biggest disappointments of the tournament? There are too many prospects to follow in that one. Who are the ones to watch you’ve never heard of, including the hotly contested prize; "best Eastern European midfield". Sadly, we have a pretty good idea what the most controversial subject will be. and it hasn't got much to do with football.
Joe returns! Accompanied by Seb, just Seb, there's a heated debate about the Europa League Final: what exactly was Solskjaer thinking about with his subs? Was he right? And why do we care so much? All of that lead to what might be the most epic penalty shootout? (we did have a vague memory of a better one but we couldn't remember enough about it to actually bring it up). Villareal's penalties, in particular, seemed to defy the laws of pressure. Things were rounded off nicely with some (perversely) fond memories of the European Super League and a few thoughts about Pochettino's unexpected approach from Spurs.
Seb and JJ are holding the fort again; under discussion: the final games of the season across Europe. Why are Everton so thoroughly quite good?! Lille are crowned French champions, Atleti seal victory in La Liga, and Callum Davidson is everyone's hero as St Johnstone win the cup... twice! The last UCL places are decided in England and Italy with Leicester suffering disappointment again and, much to Seb's dismay, Juventus scraping home without Cristiano Ronaldo.
Chelsea were out for revenge against their FA Cup final vanquishers Leicester City. Seb and JJ pick apart the Premier League rematch which came just 75 hours after the Wembley showpiece. The midweek action also saw a goal of the season contender, an exquisite chip from Edinson Cavani, and (much to Seb's dismay) there was another chaotic Spurs performance resulting in defeat at home to Villa.
Seb and Alex very much enjoyed watching The FA Cup final and were taken by Youri Tieleman's influence on the game, the incredible strength of Kasper Schmeichel’s wrists, and promising young liberos. They also took advantage of Joe's absence to indulge themselves with a look at the Ligue 2 promotion race, the prospects of a Florentine hotshot, and a thrilling final-round championship climax in Turkey featuring some familiar faces.

As a manager, Guttmann won titles in Hungary, Brazil, and Portugal. He is most famous for winning back-to-back European Cups with Benfica in 1961 & 1962. He was a coaching pioneer and was ahead of his time in many ways (fitness, psychology etc.). He shares many similarities with Jose Mourinho and other modern-day managers and his imprints are littered throughout the game.
