The outbreak of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19), continues to grow by leaps and bounds. PandemiCast is a weekly podcast seeking to offer ‘a new insight into a global health crisis.’
In our eighth edition of PandemiCast, we explore sexual and reproductive health rights (SRHR). This is our second episode on SRHR. This time, however, we have a slightly different focus. This time, we look at how has research into issues linked to SRHR been affected by the pandemic? How have agencies that provide pre-existing support for SRHR-related issues seen their funding diverted due to COVID-19? How do we mitigate the damage (if applicable) going forward? What impact is the pandemic likely to have on donor policy?

At the time of writing, COVID-19 – the disease caused by severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS–CoV-2), often referred to as coronavirus – has claimed more than 120,000 lives. SARS-CoV-2 has infected more than two million people worldwide. Robust and well-thought-out public policy has never been more important.
This is the fourth edition of PandemiCast, the weekly video podcast discussing subjects related to the coronavirus pandemic. The topic focuses on how COVID-19 has affected the treatment of other diseases. The other editions of PandemiCast can be accessed here.
With the current climate in mind, PandemiCast, in its third edition, discusses with an expert panel the notion of a coronavirus vaccine and the broader issues surrounding immunisation in the context of a global pandemic.
