Welcome to RECKONING. Where we stoke a campfire and have real life conversations with old friends, new friends, professionals and shoot the shit. RECKONING is a place for those that want to explore the world. Where friends, professionals and wanders gather around a campfire. Reckoning all things from our outdoor adventures, traveling, hunting, cooking, health, wellness, entrepreneurship, life & more. It's all just a RECKONING. REAL life chats, where we shoot the shit. We have real conversations, ask real questions and get real answers from professionals to our laid back personal conversations too! Where our listeners get to escape to their favorite fire setting through audio with the fire crackling through their speakers. All while they learn, laugh, and/or be inspired to explore.I feel that by hearing real, raw conversations and teachings from others that made a leap to chase their dreams, or go on their adventures, they’ll be encouraged to step out of fear and into faith — and have the tools to do so. Knowing they aren’t alone! Our “unique” time together in the outdoors, the experiences and memories we’ve been able to create by connecting together in nature is what inspired the gist of the podcast. After so many conversations with others, and realizing other people don’t have this with their family, or connection with themselves. Whether this is because us, or our kids are so enticed by technology. I’m unsure, but think this contributes. Maybe it’s that the outdoors: hunting and fishing are becoming a thing of the past (deep eye-roll), OR simply just because someone wants to be out exploring but doesn’t even know where to start.

Growing up I would have been considered a tomboy, I love(d) sports, dirt, camouflage, hunting . (Bowhunting was my first love and is still my sweet spot. ) I was lucky enough to have my dad take me on all the hunts! Oftentimes being the only female in camp. . . let alone a little or teenage girl. He took me with pride and confidence in me. I’m no expert but I’m here to learn with you, bring on the experts and ask the questions. Through RECKONING, I’m here to help break the mold of what some may consider to be a thing of the past, and who that person is. To help people connect to themselves and others by stepping away from their technology, fears, intimidation, and into nature. We are the RECKONING.

93: Summer’s here—and we’re catching up like friends around the fire. In this solo episode of Reckoning, I’m diving into listener grab-bag questions and sharing real-life updates from behind the scenes of running a podcast, growing a brand, and trying not to give up when the work gets hard.

We talk about the beauty products I swear by for outdoor adventures, the chaos and magic of gardening season, and how I’m finding balance between being present, being driven, and being okay with messy progress.

What we get into: – Summer skincare + low-maintenance beauty that holds up outdoors – Garden wins and fails (and what it’s teaching me about growth) – Podcasting behind the scenes: burnout, business, and bouncing back – Listener questions on wellness, fitness programs, hunting, gear, mindset, and more – Staying grounded and growing when things feel slow

For every woman who’s building something wild, real, and worth it.

The long awaited Utah Archery Bison Hunt episode. To share the story of Britt's unsusscessful Bison hunt. This one is a long episode but I decided to do this episode a little differently and bring on multiple friends: Nicole Martinez and Rendell Newman + my husband, Cody. Because hunting can sometimes be so much more than just the person who has the tag. “The Hunt” is often about the group, others who are willing to come spend their time to support you, put miles on their tires, boots and eyes. It’s the wild encounters we each have and then coming back to camp to share them around the fire.

I had a hell of a support system, especially my husband and sons: Kooper and Rivers, who grinded it out with me, rooted for me and gave me encouragement and those little/big hugs when I needed them most. My dad making me a the coolest freezer on a trailer ready to go at any moment and brining supplies. Then the hunting buddies that came along for this wild ride, to help me cover ground and locate Bison. I thought it would be cool to bring on their perspectives and experiences. Without their relentlessness I would have missed out on a few of the opportunities that came my way.

Get ready to hear about some close encounters, bear hunts, making a stalk 8 yds away from bulls, adventures in getting our truck stuck, me getting to solo hunt for 3 days and lessons learned about Archery Bison Hunting. So without further ado. . . Here is the story of my Utah Archery Bison Hunt. Chapters:

63 Waylon Pritchett is the co-founder of Kids with Disabilities Adventures and Sportsmen for Fish and Wildlife Turkey Specialist. I cannot tell you how PACKED full of Turkey goodness this episode is. I feel honored that Waylon took the time to sit down with me, shares his knowledge on Turkey’s. Like his strategy on turkey hunting from scouting, to the hunting set-up: blinds, decoy, set-ups, calling do’s and don’t and then field care. I honestly left this episode telling Cody “see ya later bud, mama is going turkey hunting” because I was feeling that confident in my skills after chatting with Waylon. He also shares some incredible stories from his turkey hunts with friends and also with their organization: Kids with Disabilities Adventures. We learn more about the organization and so so much more! He is full time firefighter and live in Utah. He has 3 wonderful kids and 2 awesome bonus kids. He's engaged to the love of his life Stephanie. During his divorce he found himself drinking heavily, isolating himself and was lacking ambition, drive and had hit an all time high in weight at 240 lbs. After an alcohol incident that affected his hunting trip and having to leave work early because he was shaking. he decided to quit cold Turkey and set some goals. he was so determined to not feel like he did anymore. He began using MTN Ops Ammo to replace a meal a day and kept the rest clean. he used MTN Ops ignite to keep energy levels up. He found some motivational people in Eric Chesser, and Weston McArthur (Rise and Shed) that were doing what he had always dreamed of doing. In three months he had lost 70 lbs, was sober and had finally spent the time in the mountains like he had always wanted to. He became obsessed, you could say, with shed hunting and began finding sheds he had always dreamed of. He somehow in this journey became a content creator. Posting videos he hopes to either make people laugh, be inspired to make changes, and sometimes cry. Because it’s ok to not be ok. His true passion still lies in building my business Public MTN and hopefully one day can pursue that full time.

On this week's episode we chat with Nikki Chamberlain, who goes by the alias Kiwi Cruisette on Instagram, she has just wrapped up the trip of a lifetime. After losing her job as part of company wide covid layoffs, she turned this devastating year into an unforgettable journey of discovery, embracing the uncertainty and following a pipe dream. She has spent the last 6 months riding solo across America on her motorcycle, camping in forests, taking the backroads and discovering what it means to live in each of the 48 contiguous states. As an immigrant, she was curious to know what life was like for Americans from all walks of life, so she interviewed locals along the way, asking them for their take on the American Dream. Her interviews, daily vlogs and educational videos are published on her instagram and youtube channel, Lunch Cutter Productions. (We learn what a lunch cutter is!) By sharing her journey and learnings along the way, she hopes to encourage other women to ride and explore - and consider taking up motorcycle camping (aka motocamping) as a way to do both. After all, if you see it, you can be it. Read the blog & Show Notes.

We couldn’t think of a better guest to have for our launch of our re-brand for RECKONING, We get to hang out around the fire with Olivia Seline, Trauma-Informed Sex & Embodiment Mentor, Reiki Master, and Truth Seeker. After experiencing her own healing & sexual awakening, and through her ever-unfolding journey of coming home to herself - she felt pulled to create a sacred audio experience where we can explore the taboo life topics together outside the confines of social media with her podcast.

We discuss all things from motherhood, delivery, being boy moms, body image, relationships with your significant other, how to honor and let go of negative beliefs of sex due to religious up-bringing, to becoming confident on your own as a sexual goddess, with self love and/or with your partner. She’s the no BS friend you never know you needed. Read the blog & Show Notes.
