Marketing and sales are like water to a garden.
Without marketing and sales, your business will not grow the way YOU want it to.
You may get referrals but you cannot control the tap on that.
Business is simple:
How do you get in front of new people?
How do you nurture them?
How do you sell to them?
What's your sales and onboarding process?
How do you upsell people?
How do you resign people?
Marketing is having a strategy.
Implementing the strategy for 30-90 days, tweaking it and refining it.

Today I want to talk to you about something a little chewy. The interrelation of personal growth and business growth, because it will always be mindset before mechanics.
Very few people will take the action or take the action for long enough to see the results.
So many stories come up around people pleasing, scarcity, worthiness and more which keep us from taking the action that will actually get us the result that we want.
I often hear these common objections:
Now all that’s fine except that they are stories you’re telling yourself.
Your business will not grow if you do not grow.
So it’s time to bust some myths around here!

When you build out your team you’ll find the freedom you started your business to achieve. But HOW do you go from solo to CEO?
It all starts with a plan.
A plan where we Zoom out, before we can Zoom in.
In this episode we look at a 3 Step Process that’s so simple, you’ll shake your head a little.

Your business needs to work for you.
What does that mean?
You want more money. More freedom. More impact. More fun.
Your business can be the vehicle to get you there.
How do we do that?
We design our business to support our life.
What does that mean?
We get crystal clear on what we want and we reverse engineer what we need to make that happen.
We map out when we want to work and what we want to do, and how much we want to earn.
And most likely your answers involve doing interesting, high quality work with awesome people, and not having to work 100 hours a week.
To do that, we need to charge a premium. We just do.
So - how do you get client’s that are happy to pay a premium? That’s what we’re talking about today.

The last thing I would want in my business is to have to start at zero every single month.
Monthly recurring revenue is golden - quite literally!
They don’t want to pay you an hourly fee, they want a result. So let’s give them that.
So in today’s episode we’re going to talk about how to move from an hourly rate to a high ticket retainer with both your current and your new clients.
And I know that this seems super scary - because there is a risk you’ll lose your clients. And yes you might. But that means they’re not your ideal clients. You did not build your business to sacrifice your wellbeing and your lifestyle for others - but that’s what your doing if you’re stuck in a cycle of people pleasing like I was.

Today we’re going to talk about what to do when you’re booked out as a freelancer.
When you’re booked out it means that you’re stuck in the place of trading hours for money - and you are the bottleneck in your business. If you don’t work, your business stops and you don’t get paid.
With this model - you can never take time off, and it’s really really hard to step back from the day to day to work ON your business, so that you can change things.
This is not the place you want to be.
So today we'll cover the 3 steps you can do to unbottle-neck your business, uncap your income, get more money and more freedom. Let’s go.

I don’t see a whole heap of talk about this, and unfortunately, not a lot of this happening BTS with potential new clients and people I chat to either.
What am I talking about?
Timeless Business Principles that didn’t quiiite make it all the way over to digital CEO land… and keep too many business owners small.
This may annoy some people becuase these 5 things aren't exactly sexy, but they are timeless business principles for a reason... they're true.
What we do instead of these is we see Coaches marketing (or we see a fraction of it online) and assume this it everything - and that it will also work for us, Buuuh wrong! Especially if you're a freelancer or B2B Service Provider.
So tune in to listen to the 5, then hop on over to IG and let me know ... which stands out for you?
This episode is a prompt for you to check in on your habits.
Because it’s our habits that determine how we show up in the world.
Truly.
And that can be a little sobering.
We like to think of ourselves as a certain way - but when we look at the way we spend our time and money .. sometimes the reality is a little different.
So let’s dive into the CEO habits that consistently help us perform at a high level - and a raw hard look at whether or not we’re actually living them out.

But it can be SIMPLE.
The enemy of business growth, profit and freedom is COMPLEXITY.
And when we ask ourself 'How could this be easy?' we unlock 3 things.
1 - We think about our thinking.
2- We simplify.
3 - The ripple effect does in fact, make everything easier.
So ... ask yourself, "How could this be easy?"

It doesn’t mean that everything is perfect.
And it definitely doesn’t mean that mum guilt doesn’t rear it’s ugly head when it’s not.
Most of us who’ve been in business any length of time have had situations that make us question our abilities in both business and motherhood.

In this episode I spoke with Rosanne Michie, author of the book, Change Your Life In 10 Minutes.
Rosanne is a writer, former newspaper columnist and broadcaster. She is a mum and step-mum of kids with unique challenges; survivor of family trauma; and lover of a great party.
She has also spent several years at the pointy end of corporate life as a consultant specialising in change.
Her story weaves through the book, which is packed with easy-to-digest information and 10-minute tips of easy life hacks that can move the blocks and help transform your life.
Rosanne has stumbled through failure, grief, pain, trauma – even terror.
But to make something of her life and to shield her children, she had to confront change, whether she liked it or not.
Change is scary and uncomfortable at first, but there are ways to make it possible?
We discuss all of this in this candid episode.

So much of what I see on social media is not strategic.
It’s content created in the moment, without a clear goal.
And very rarely part of a complete marketing campaign.

Automation.
How do you feel when you hear that word?
Heart quicken in anxiety? Big smile? Furrowed eyebrows?
For most service providers I work with, they like the sound of it, but actually making it happen is intimidating. I get it - I wouldn’t never have previously considered myself ‘techy’ either.
But what I cant to release is that time is money. Actually, time is way way wayyy more important than money.
Excellence, consistency and productivity are also fabulous.

If we’re in business for the long term, it’s inevitable that we’ll experience different seasons.
Seasons of excitement and energy, as well as seasons of overwhelm or discontent. Maybe even resentment.
What we can forget it business is a reflection and extension of ourselves.
So if something stops working, we have a team issue or we evolve personally - we’re going to feel it.
And that’s ok.
What too many of us do is ignore or misdiagnose the issue, or have feelings of shame around it.
Let’s reframe this and realise that we’re not going to have consistent growth without growing pains.
So let’s talk about it!

When I started my agency I was terrible at sales.
Great at marketing, but yes, completely terrible at sales.
I’d been taught a fear based uber masculine structure for sales calls, that I tried and failed to implement.
After 20 failed attempts, paying $150 per sales call, I realised I needed to find a better way.
I dove into learning from books, podcasts, other business owners and mentors.
And I realised that there was a structure to the sales call for a reason, but that it didn’t have to be based on provoking fear.
I needed to inspire action, yes, but it could be done with inspiration and hope. Not fear.
To hear the full story, and the sales call structure I use now, tune into the latest episode of The Podcast.

We want to go fast. We want it now. We want the microwave version.
But the microwave version is never as deliciously satisfying as the slow roasted one. Never.
So we need longevity. We need small steps over time. And that takes structure.
And with structure comes predictability.
And with predictability comes peace.
And peace is freedom.
When we implement systems. And we work them consistently. Even when we cant see the results. It looks like there’s no change., We’re not getting the dopamine hit.
When we work them consistently - at a pace you’ve set based on wellbeing and impact - everything changes.
All of a sudden you don’t resent your business.
You’re living life with integrity, based on your highest values. Based on what YOU want from your life.
So let’s get nitty gritty here and talk about how you can do this, practically.

But just because your business will take more - doesn’t mean you give it.

Why are you really not doing the thing?
Through coaching literally thousands of women this point, over 5+ years, one of the things that is true for almost everyone is - the thing that we think is the problem is not usually the problem.
It might be the symptom, but we’re usually too close to the problem to be able to see what it is.
Usually we need to zoom out, or have someone else point out what’s in our blindspot.
If you’re stuck though - you really do want to get to the bottom of what is keeping you there.
Tune into hear my perspective on the deeper problem.

The reasons why people tell me they don’t want a team span from the effort of finding someone, to having to ‘manage people’.
But the truth is, your business is bigger than you.
It’s virtually impossible to have the profit and freedom you likely dream of in your business without support.
This doesn’t mean you need a big team, but it also doesn’t mean you don’t.
The size of your team doesn’t matter.
What matters is that you have a clear vision for your role in the business, and the functions you need to increase your profit and service your clients.
Yes, I said Increase Your Profit.
People = Profit.
It’s not, build the profit and then get the people. All this will do is create a bottleneck and burn you out.
The best, most freedom filled businesses are built with team in mind.
Because it’s unlikely that you want to do every, single function in your business - forever.
Am I right?
So then, the problem becomes performance.
How do you hire the right person, and ensure they serve your clients with excellence, AND add to the bottom line?
Well, that’s exactly what we’re talking about in this episode of the Mumstyle Business Podcast.
We discuss 4 ways to get more from your team, and have more FUN in the process.

Fear is the answer.
Fear is keeping us safe - it’s keep us where we are - 95% of our decisions are made here.
Any decision that helps us grow, is taking us into the unknown.
Our brains resist that.
Our bodies give us the message loud and clear.
But I believe you have that vision for a reason.
That thing you want? It’s meant for you.
That fear? Lean into it.
More than that, fear is the answer to connecting with your clients.
Fear comes on the verge on transformation.
And we’re in the business of transformation.
So fear is inevitable.
Thank the fear. Lean into the fear. And go anyway.

What got you here wont get you there.
True.
But how exactly then do we move past this?
What got us here is our skills, our decisions, and our actions.
95% of our actions are unconscious.
Driven by our mind. Out Operating System if you will.
So how do we ‘rewire’ our minds to get different actions that ensure different outcomes?
By being intentional.
Intentional about our Input.
Intentional about how we Process that input.
Intentional about our Execution.
This is what we’re talking about in this week’s episode of the Mumstyle Business Podcast.
Tune in for exactly what this means for me, and tools for “processing” that will change how you THINK.
This is a total game changer, and allows you to leverage yourself in ways you may not have even thought possible.

You’ll learn what mindset work really means, and leave with practical ideas on how you can implement in your own way.
We also talk about the gap between DOING and BEING, and how most people are at one end of the spectrum, but a balance is needed.

As a society, we’re chronically distracted.
If you work online, I’d bet even more so.
We’ve got emails, notifications and DMs coming at us from all directions.
We’re hyper connected.
We think about connection as being a positive thing.
And it is. But too much of anything is not good.
We need rhythm. Cycles. Inhale and exhale.
Connection, and solitude.
Thinking and implementation.
Mindset and strategy.
And most importantly - we need to be where we are.
Focussed.
So let’s talk about 3 powerful ways that FOCUS can act as a lever in your business and make you more profit.

It’s easy for our grip on reality to get a little warped when we’re bombarded with social highlight reels and have instant access to …everything.
We can forget that sustainable and profitable businesses are not built overnight, or a month, or a maybe even year.
We can get frustrated seeing ‘overnight’ success stories.
We can compare ourselves.
Get discouraged. And even, quit.
If you’ve felt like just yesterday you were saying Happy New Yr, and all you’ve done is blink and it’s nearly March … you’re not alone.
Tune in for 4 ways to get back on track and feeling good about where you’re at on the journey.
Remember, if you keep going - you cannot fail.

Guilty of scrolling. And scrolling.
Feeling worse about yourself.
Second guessing everything you’re doing in your business.
Yep, I’ve been there too.
Until I realised that this was the equivalent of setting my business goals on fire.
Then I put a plan in place.
A 4 step strategy to leverage the incredible gift of being automatically connected to millions of people - yes I’m talking about social media.
Way too many of us take this amazing tool for granted. Flash back not so long ago, mobile as big as handbags and Google wasn’t even a thing. Remember?
My point is - it’s such a part of the everyday now that we forget the power it holds.
We can connect with, serve and sell to people across the WORLD with a device that fits in our pocket.
And most of us … don’t.
Why?
Because we compare ourselves.
Because we over complicate it.
Because we don’t want our neighbour / sister / ex to see us, and judge us.
Well, it’s time to stop with the playing small, and take action.
So tune in for 4 steps on how to get clients on social media, in just 1 hour per day.

The last 2 months have been a pressure cooker of change, ideas and Massive. Imperfect. Action.
We launched the offer we've been cooking up all year (hello Freeceo!), hosted a TEDx event, and farewelled a bunch of longtime clients in order to make space for the new journey.
I've had to draw on every lesson I've learnt in the last 6 years - and apply it. To truly own my CEO title and stand firm knowing that no-one else is coming in to save me.
There's been a lot of uncomfortable conversions. With myself and others - lol.
Serious deep thinking.
And painful pruning.
Letting go of what's good and leaping towards greater - in faith.
The result - more time. More freedom. And the foundation to create even more Impact.
What I had to do was to pare back everything.
Start again in so many ways.
The first step - getting the back of house in order.
Super un-sexy.
Until it's done.
Then it's a total turn on because having the back end organised is absolutely LIBERATING.
Need a little of that?
Tune into this week's episode of the podcast!
We're be back weekly now, Tuesdays.
Season 2 is about simplifying.
Questioning everything.
Nothing is safe.
Here's why we had a 2 month break - and what to expect from the podcast moving into 2023 and beyond.
Work smarter, not harder they say.
Great.
Sounds perfect.
But what the heck does that actually mean?
Well in my world - it means knowing that marketing is the most important part of growing your business.
It means simplifying.
It means working on your business, not in your business.
Again - vague terms right?
So let’s chat about the actual tactical things you can do TODAY to work smarter, not harder in your biz.

Do you believe the saying, you get out what you put in?
I do. But with a caveat.
You get the fruit of the seeds you plant.
And in business, this is usually a season later.
We see the fruit of our actions 90-120 days after we implement them.
Questions that have been coming up in conversations over the past few weeks have been about investing in your business.
At the start of running our biz - we often have more time than money and so we invest that.
Which is perfect. But as we begin to get clients, this shifts, and time is our greatest resource.
It's the only time that’s non-renewable. That we can never get more of (unless we hire people - but that’s a conversation for another day.
When we acknowledge that our time is beyond precious. We need to look at how we’re spending the lifeblood of our business. Money.
And the investments that we make, and do not make, determine both our trajectory and our speed.
So let’s discuss 5 investment areas that are going to be pivotal in reaching your goals.

12 lessons from a decade in leadership
Recently I’ve been asked to share my story.
Truthfully, I’ve felt uncomfortable doing that.
It felt self-indulgent.
So here, instead, well in alignment with - are 12 lessons I’ve learned along the way.
This is the good, the bad, and the ugly of business. Coming at you real and raw, unfiltered in a live IG so I wouldn’t chicken out and hit delete.
I’d love to know what resonates.
Often we minimise the importance of our offer.
More than being just your product - your offer is the cornerstone of your entire Business.
It determines who you work with, what you do, and what you get paid. It determines how you live your life.
Let me explain.
Your day-to-day life is determined by your actions. Your actions in your business are the work you do. Who you spend your time with at work matters.
You want to spend your time working with, helping, talking to, and selling to people that energise you. So it’s important you don’t work with just anyone that hits you up in the DMs.
Once you know who you want to work with, you’ll know the thing that’s keeping them up at night. The big problem you can help them with.
It needs to be a big problem so that you can come in with a big solution, and therefore charge what it is that you want to charge.
This is imperative for your life by design. You must decide when you work, and how much you earn. If you’re not intentional about these 2 things, they’ll be chosen for you. And it likely won’t be what you want.
Based on all these things, your offer is born.
And your offer needs to be sold in order for you to make money.
To sell it, you need to communicate it.
To communicate it, you need to know your ideal client’s preconceived ideas about your industry.
What is it they need to know and think and believe about you in order to say Yes to your offer?
That is your marketing.
And there you go. Your Marketing and Sales Strategy in one episode ;)
Take action!
Harsh truth.
We choose how we feel.
We decide what we let each interaction and each moment mean. We decide how those things affect our attitude, the words that come from our mouths, and the actions we take.
We are in charge of our energy, our reactions, and therefore our day.
Often we have this grandiose idea of what our ideal life will look like. We think we have to wait ’until’ to enjoy life to the fullest.
We don’t.
We get to live those moments now.
It’s the moments that make the days.
The days that make the months.
The months that make the years.
So now that you choose how you want those to go.
Regardless of what happened today with the kids.
Regardless of how that sales call went.
Regardless of that conversation with that person that just doesn’t get it.
This isn’t minimising the fact that life is just bloody hard sometimes. That business is hard. That life throws massive curveballs.
But we get to choose what we feed our minds. As well as what comes out of our mouths. And how we spend each moment.
Whether that’s choosing to have a foundation of joy that spills into everything we do, or if we let apathy define us.
So decide what you want to be known for.
How do you want people to feel?
How YOU want to feel.
And make it happen.

Imagine this ...
Your ideal client sees your pre-scheduled social posts or ads and lands on your website. They’re hit by a super clear message that speaks directly to them.
They opt in for a valuable resource and receive an automated email sequence with invitations to book a call.
Confirmations and reminders are sent after the call is booked, plus some extra resources to get them excited.
After the call, they’re automatically sent a thank you, plus stories of others clients' results prior to purchasing. You stay top of mind via email and text until they’re ready to buy.
Upon purchase, the client receives reminders to sign the contract and pay, and when they do they are automatically onboarded.
The best part is - it happens without you even having to think about it.
It’s all automated.

At the very foundation of all your marketing sits your branding.
Unfortunately, branding in itself is misunderstood.
Some think it's not important.
Many think it's their logo and colours.
The truth is, it's crucial to gaining and maintaining trust.
It's your brand personality, and my guest on the podcast today Jen Bowers likes to say it's what people say about your business when you're not in the room.
In this discussion, we dive into the practicality of creating your brand, colours, and all.
What I learned is that it's actually a deep dive into self-discovery.
Want to know if a personal brand or business brand is the way to go, or how to gain the confidence to put yourself out there - this one is for you.

Perfectionism can rear its ugly head in so many ways.
Ultimately, it keeps us stuck.
Join me for a conversation, and a little tough love, on this week's episode of the podcast as we explore what perfectionism really looks like, why it holds us back, and how we can move forward in business and in life.
Here's the link.
Showing up on IG, doing your reels, posting a few times per week, emailing your list annnnd ... you're getting the same dozen likes from your peers and friends - and little else?
Is this you? Ask yourself... are you putting your content out to the same X number of people who've been following you for months? Or are there new people in your ecosystem every week?
If the answer is the former, you're not alone.
You'll likely also find a shift in focus to getting in front of some new eyeballs is game-changing.
But how the heck do you do that?
One powerful way is PR.
Lisa Simone Richards is a PR & Visibility Strategist for online coaches who want to get seen everywhere and I was honoured to have her on the Mumstyle Business Show to talk about how to harness the power of PR in your biz.
Through her free workshops, masterclasses, and mentorship program, she gives you insider secrets on how to get exposure and reach more people without spinning your wheels on social media or wasting money on Facebook ads.
On weekends you can find her playing in the kitchen with her husband, petting ALL the dogs in the park, and watching way too many fashion styling videos on YouTube.
Lisa shares practical ways to build and implement a media strategy that's going to put you in front of your ideal customers on the regular, without having to run ads.
If you've ever asked yourself, how do I get featured in XXX, or speak on X podcast or at Y event ... this is a must-listen.

What I love most about the Mumstyle Business Podcast is that I get to interview incredible women from all walks of life, doing amazing things.
This week I have Beth Hodson from Kids Love to Cook on the show.
Beth has a long career as an entrepreneur across serval industries and candidly shared some of the biggest lessons from her journey.
If your business is designed to be the vehicle for your dream life.
If you are raising and family and business simultaneously.

When we're busy, it can be so easy to forget that what we put in our bodies affects the way we feel.
Food is both fuel and medicine.
What we eat (and do not eat) influences not only our shape but our energy, our complexion, our sleep, our gut health and so much more.
Because most of us eat 3 or more times a day, for the most part we've desensitised ourselves. It's easy to devalue the impact that food has.
This is what my guest on the podcast today, Hope Pedraza, is passionate about supporting women.
Hope Pedraza is a Certified Holistic Nutritionist, Functional Diagnostic Nutrition Practitioner, and host of Hopeful and Wholesome Podcast. Hope helps career-driven women to heal their gut, balance their minds, and feel good in their bodies again. Hope also is a mom, serial entrepreneur, and founder of a Pilates-based franchise - inBalance studio.
In this episode we discussed,
No matter where you are in your relationship with food, your health, your energy, and your body - I hope this conversation inspires you to reconnect with how you can nurture and nourish yourself.

What would you say if I told you that 90% of success is related to mindset?
Sounds crazy to think that all the strategy, all the tactics, all the networking and content, and other stuff we do are only responsible for 10% of the results - but I think it's true.
Without a strong mindset, we simply don't show up how we need to in order to get what we need to get done.
We're scattered, avoidant, hesitant - and it shows.
My guest on the podcast today is Jess Soto Ramirez. She works with business leaders to kick their limiting beliefs to the curb - even those they don't know they have!
Jess Soto-Ramirez is here to serve it up to you in a way that will light you up! After taking her own road trip down the business lane, and realising how much of a mind game it is; she's merged lanes and is using her experience and tools to empower and ignite you to work WITH your mind and create a business and life that inspires you!

Do you run your business, or does your business run you?
Is your day dictated by phone calls and emails? Or do you decide what projects you work on and when?
The CEO schedule was first introduced to me by a mentor, Kelly Roach.
It’s the concept of designing your week to include the most important tasks at whatever stage of business you’re in: from getting started, to solopreneur to 7 / 8 or even 9-figure business owner.
Tune in for exactly how to implement this and take the reins on your business and life, for good!
For the complete guide on the 7 Systems, you'll need to focus on in your CEO Schedule, click here. (anneliseworn.com/7systems)
It's time!!
It's time to look at the numbers.
Now before you run and hide your head under the covers, listen up.
Every 3 months, just 4 times per year, you need to raise the hood of your business and take a look at what's going on.
Why? Because if you're running up the hill and are off course, you're not going to end up at the top.
So block 1 hour in your calendar this week.
Yes, this week, and let's do this 💪
Not sure where to go from here? Book a free strategy session with me and let's start your 12 week plan together so you KNOW you're working on the things that will move the needle in your business.

At every stage in our business, to get to the next level, we need to show up differently.
Doing things in a new way takes courage.
It means doing it scared.
So it takes courage and confidence.
What starts as full force passion for our business, striving for excellence and growth - can end up catapulting us in the other direction.
Resentment. Stress. Late nights. Snappy. Unfulfilled.
The worst part? Those we love can bear the brunt.
It's such a pervasive issue that I reached out to expert Jessica Read to discuss how we can manage stress, and avoid burnout as busy business mummas.
Jessica is a mum of 2 young girls and the owner of Inspired Life Collective. Jessica works with women who are struggling with stress management, anxiety, or living under the effects of trauma to calm their minds and bodies in order to live from a place of joy, not fear.
Jessica is an Advanced EFT Practitioner, Meditation Therapist, Holistic Life Coach, and Corporate Stress Management Consultant, also currently studying for a diploma in Clinical Hypnotherapy. Jessica's in-depth knowledge of how emotional, mental & physical stress impacts the mind and body and passion for holistic healing ensure her clients not only grow and heal but thrive.
If you're feeling stretched right now - you need to hear this.
Give yourself the gift of taking time for yourself.
Here are the links we mentioned in the show:
Feeling like your income doesn't match your effort?
Burnout and dis-satisfied?
Overworked and underpaid?
Feeling like the world's best-kept secret?
It might be one of these 3 things.
Business is the biggest personal development of all time!
Do you agree??
If we're doing it right - we're going to grow and evolve.
For some of us, that means our business begins to feel constricting and too small.
We can outgrow the confines of what we created.
Making changes in our business can feel scary though.
It may mean saying no.
It may mean moving on.
It may mean letting people down.
It can feel uncomfortable.
But you started your business for freedom.
And it's YOU that has to show up in your business every day.
Not anyone else.
Feeling stuck in your business?
Feel like you've outgrown what you created?
I've been there.
Tune in now to this episode!
If we want more, we need to step up.
Easier said than done.
What does this really look like?
It looks like doing different things.
Thinking differently.
Asking better questions.
Choosing our attitude.
Conquering self.
Join me for a conversation to stretch your thinking around this topic.
And maybe your actions too.
A.
Emotions and business.
Are they welcome? Not welcome?
Appropriate? Not appropriate?
Unavoidable? Destructive?
Let's talk about it.
I used to think that emotions had zero place in business.
I was go go go on the 'to do' list without stopping to check in with how I felt.
I thought emotions made me weak.
I thought emotions would hold me back.
My approach to my business was structure and hustle and task driven.
It got me to multiple six figures.
It also got me to burnout.
Can you relate?
Join me for this important discussion.
To truly step into our role as CEO - we have to show up differently.
It takes cultivate the attitude and skills of this new identity.
Ultimately it comes down to the small decisions we make everyday.
The habits we intentionally choose.
Tune in to discover the CEO habits you can thoughtfully input into your day, starting today.
Our business should be your vehicle to freedom, not your prison.
But for too many of us, we can get stuck in the busy work.
Client projects.
Fighting fires.
Staff absences.
Endless meetings.
The never ending content creation hamster wheel.
Guess what - as CEO, you have the power to turn the car around.
You have the power to claim back the freedom you started your business to achieve.
In this week's episode of the podcast, we explore 5 ways you can take action right now to do just that.
The first 2 have nothing to do with business ;) (or do they!)
Want to take it further? Come along to our Simplify your Business Bootcamp - we're running this for 5 days starting May 30th.

Can't wait to see you there!
Comparison - it comes in many forms.
We can look at other people's success, their progress, their house, their clients and think - WHY does she have it all together and I don't?
I used to do this too.
But a few years ago I realised 3 things.
Struggling with this? Tune in now to this episode!
Unpopular opinion ...
Most people I know that are getting started spend way way WAY too much time on their website.
Yes, your website - done right - shows you are an authority in your space and helps you grow faster.
But ultimately, too much focus can be placed here, instead of building relationships (where the real income is).
How do I know? I grew a 6 figure business without a website.
That said - you should have one.
Specifically, there's 5 things it should have ...
Tune in now and find out what they are.
Business is about relationships. Especially if you're a business providing a service to another business.
It's NOT about how many followers you have on IG.
It's not about how many emails you have on your list.
It's about people.
You'll build your business quicker than you ever realised when you prioritise connection over ego metrics.
So who do yo0u need to connect with?
Specifically - 3 types of people.
Tune in now to find out exactly WHO and HOW.
I have to admit, when I first heard about 'self care' as being an important part of the entrepreneurial journey my first thought was, yeah sure it's ok for them - they've got the revenue and momentum to be able to afford the time off.
It was only by personal experience of reaching burnout that I got the memo. You MUST look after yourself. It's not a nice to have optional extra. It's vital to success - at every level.
The best analogy I've heard is that of the million dollar racehorse. You've probably heard me mention it before.
The racehorse is fed nutritious food.
The racehorse is adequately trained. Adequately rested.
Why? Because they're given the optimal circumstances to perform.
The funny thing is - often we can see that this makes sense for the racehorse. But we don't think the same principles apply to us & even more so.
So can self care really make you a better business leader?
Heck yes!
Not convinced? Listen in to this episode of the podcast!
Convinced - but your calendar doesn't actually reflect these wellbeing priorities? Listen in!
This one's important.
Your wellbeing is important.
Let's go!
'No one will do it as good as me.'
This is the main complaint I hear when people push back about hiring.
It's simply not true.
However, maintaining quality when you hire a team IS a tricky balance.
In this episode, we're going to cover the 3 step process of onboarding a team member - Training, Mentoring and Coaching.
Every role I've ever had has led back to empowering women - so I was thrilled to interview Samantha Nelson.
Samantha's passion is women's empowerment and organizational cultural branding. Currently, she is a doctoral student at Vanderbilt University's Peabody College studying leadership and learning in organizations which complements a Master's degree in Educational Leadership specializing in organizational systems change.
Samantha holds a Diplomate and Instructorship in Biocognitive Science as well as a Diplomate in Biocognitive Organizational Science with a specialty in mission and vision development. With experience in curriculum design, she ensures a human-centered approach to personal development and vocational empowerment.
Samantha's an incredible woman whose passion is women's empowerment and organizational cultural branding. She's crazy educated and continues to study leadership and change, and was just a joy to speak to.

I hope you do as well.
When was the last time you took time off? Really took time off?
For many freelancers - it's been longer than perhaps they'd like to admit.
If you're feel like you're stuck on the metaphorical hampster wheel in your business - listen to this episode.
We're talking really, practical strategies to help you unravel yourself form your business - and take a step back.
Without losing clients. Without compromising on income.
Yes, it's possible.

Feel like you need to be producing mountains of content?
In a content driven online world, strategy is often a missing piece. If you’ve ever struggled with content, felt lost, overwhelmed or purpose-less - this one’s for you.
I spoke with Mel Daniels of Meld Business Services.
Mel Daniels is a Content Strategist and Coach who loves to understand ‘why’. Even past her toddler years, she always asked why. She wanted to understand why things worked like they did, why people acted a certain way and why she was the only one who loved peanut butter and sultana sandwiches.
We discussed:
As well as the evolution of her service based business from 1:1 client work to strategist and coach.

Is it even possible?
As a mumma of 4 under 10 - I'm in the thick of it.
Tune in now!
Let's talk abut collaborations.
Some are no brainers. Some are scary uplevels. And some you might write off. Like working with the 'competition'.
Although the 'collaboration over competition' meme is cute - and you might even like or share it ... does it actually translate to movement in your business?
Are you really willing to go there?
And if not, why not?
Collaboration opens up a world of possibility.
Ready to find out why?
Listen in.
5 figure months don't just happen without strategy.
Planning and work and working the plan.
Then once you get there, how do you make sure it's not just a unicorn month?
How do you get repeatable results so you can plan the growth of your business with confidence?
Let's talk about it!

Joanna is a wife of one and a mother of four.
Dissatisfied with $8 per hour, she started her first business teaching piano. One of my biggest passions is sharing stories of women forging their own path in business and in life. Women pursuing motherhood and ambition simultaneously.
We all do this so differently & I find it incredibly inspiring and comforting to know that there's no one right way to juggle all the different pieces.
We can learn so much form each other - even if that's identifying what we DON'T want.
Over the past few months I've been speaking with Virtual Assistants across Australia and the world. This is some of their stories.
We'll be releasing one episode per day, for 5 days.
I hope you enjoy meeting each one as much as I did.
Today, I'd like to meet CHRISTINE STEPHENS

So many women I work with have a goal to earn 6 figures in their business.
Don’t get me wrong - it’s a great goal. If it’s yours.
In today’s episode we explore the truth about wanting 6 figures - and how we can think about this differently.
We question:
And so much more.
Let’s do this!
The End Game: What does Freedom actually mean to you?
We started our business for freedom - but are we actually living that? Truly? Because we do get to choose - but often we choose to say yes when we'd rather say no.
So. What's your end game?
And are you really walking towards it?
Let's explore!
Does the thought of marketing make your head hurt?
Let’s streamline and simplify!
Ask yourself these questions and you’ll have a super streamlined marketing plan you can move forward with today!
E.g. That outsourcing will save them money? That you have worked with 10 other similar business and got results? That taking control of their marketing will mean they don’t have to wait for word of mouth? Etc. etc. * What will your MAIN piece of content be?
A blog? A podcast? A video? Other? * What other posts will you do? * How will you get in front of new people every week? * How will you nurture your current audience / list / community? * How will you invite people to a sales conversation every week?
This is how we create results 💪
Small steps. The right ones. Consistently.
Success is not linear.
Business is not linear.
Life is not linear.
We are not robots.
The entire universe is cyclical.
The seasons.
The tide.
Our femininity.
Everything.
So why do we not adopt this in our businesses? Why do we run and run and run until we’re sick and tired and burnout?
Slowing down before speeding up is a practise that I learnt the hard way after almost burning out completely. Now I’m passionate about boundaries and rest and priorities and honouring every season and every stage in business.
So let’s dive in to what that looks like practically, and how you can implement this practice in your own business and see the results you’re looking for materialise with more ease and speed than you thought possible.
Work Less, Earn More - is that a joke?
You hear this phrase thrown around right? But what does it even mean?
More importantly - how can you make it happen for YOU?
The typical marketing strategies you see on socials all day don't work for B2B businesses.
Building your audience, dancing on reels, running webinars, pdf downloads ... they're great ... but they're not the things that are going to make you money fast in a 1:1 client based biz.
When you're ready to add on additional revenue streams - fab! But when you're trying to up your revenue and build your team - you need predicable income, fast.
You need a marketing system that doesn't take forever to build, and doesn't take an hour a day to implement.
You need power levers. And that's what I'm bringing you in today's episode.
5 actionable marketing strategies that are NOT cookie cutter.
They're totally customisable, and powerful. Tried and tested.
Can't wait for you to dive in! Let me know what you think & which you're going to implement! 💥
You know I'm all about the action taking.
Let's do this!!
Your beautiful business can be a vehicle of change.
Change for your clients, for your lifestyle, and for causes you care about.
Let's talk about ways you can expand the good you're doing, and create a ripple effect that goes beyond anything you ever dreamed of.
I hired all the wrong people in my business in the first few years.
I learnt the hard way what to do and what not to do.
The truth is - leading people can be hard in the constructs of a business that wasn’t created for you. And when we take these principles, the ones we’ve known in another career, we just get more of what we don’t want.
When you realise that your own business is a different environment born from your own vision - you see that the possibility of building a dream team is real.
It all starts with the vision you have for your business.
It’s the WHO not the HOW that makes the vision come to life.
But how do you even start?
In this episode of the podcast we explore this and map out a step by step plan to creating a team that truly supports you in your business.
Hiring your first employee can be a terrifying endeavor.
All types of questions come up.
Imposter syndrome might rear its ugly head.
Questions about leadership and finances and time and priorities and ... all the things can come into question.
But hiring and building you team is the key to gaining back the freedom in your business.
It's a stepping back to spring forward.
Training and going slower in training, in order to never have to do that task again. Woop woop!
Walking us through the 101 of hiring today is leading expert Jessica Pierce.
Jessica is the CEO and Founder of Career Connectors. A NFP linking job seekers with resources and hiring companies - to help them shorten the hiring window and step into their dream job role.
If you, like so many women I speak to are avoiding the topic of hiring, dragging your feet or sworn against ever 'managing people' again - this is a must listen.
What does it mean to be a mumstyle CEO?
A ‘lifestyle’ CEO conjures up images of laptops on the beach, or by the pool. For most of us though, that’s fun for a week - but not for a year - or forever.
Especially with families, and other ambitions outside of work and family life.
So no - lifestyle CEO is not the goal.
We’re going after what we want #mumstyle.
Let’s do it!
Tune into this week’s episode of the podcast.
Marketing and sales doesn't have to be complicated. You don't need to spend all day on social media. It doesn't have to cost a bomb.
There's a simpler, more elegant way that the RAH RAH HUSTLE HUSTLE mentality that the 'big boys' on the internet are spruiking.
Let's get into the #mumstyle way.
What do you feel when I say the words 'creativity' and 'business'?
Personally, in the past when I heard about creativity being used in business, it felt like 2 things that were incompatible.
My frame of reference was the industry I worked in, vocational education compliance, and the 2 seemed like oil and water.
I was wrong. And more and more, as I've built my own business, I've realised how vital a skill creativity actually is.
In a space where we can have a business FB page up and running in about 2 mins flat, creativity is not a luxury.
We need to stand out. To shine. To be seen and innovate and to give our clients a beautiful experience.
None of that happens without creativity.
Not only that, but as the world moves towards more AI, creativity is a human element that cannot be replaced.
So how can we cultivate creativity? How do we then hone that skill?
In this episode of the Mumstyle Business Show 'Creative Power' I interviewed Jo Simpson.
Join us for a deep conversation about creativity, discipline, and getting still.
How to create a B2B marketing plan.
Marketing to businesses is not the same as marketing to consumers.
In some ways it's easier. In someways ... not.
Listen in to the podcast and we'll break down my B2B marketing plan.
Setting and maintaining boundaries is something we can all struggle with. But boundaries are what allow us freedom.
So how can we set them? And better yet .. how can we make sure they’re upheld?
Listen in for my 7 top tips on maintaining boundaries in business and in life.
2 agencies, 4 little monkeys, a mentoring program & ... LIFE - it's safe to say I'm not bored.
I'm also a BIG fan of utilising tools to help me optimise my time.
When the going gets tough, the tough get going.
When life give you lemons, make lemonade.
There's saying after saying about determination. And for good reason.
Life and business can whack us around and throw us some serious curveballs.
Today's guest believes that determination is the key that led to her success, and now helps women get 30k plus a month in just 90 days, while working only three to five hours a day.
We dig into the strategy behind the promise and talk about high ticket sales, messaging and streamlining processes - and so much more.
If you're working banana hours and not seeing the fruit of your labour - this one's for you!
I hear this all the time …
I want to grow but I don't want to manage a team.
If this is you - join me for this discussion on the pros and cons of subcontracting / having a team.
Here’s my thoughts on 3 things we can all STOP doing in 2022 and 3 things we can start or continue doing. If not these things, I hope this helps you identify 1 thing you will STOP and 1 thing you will START in 2022.
Would love to hear yours!
So you decided you wanted to start your own business.
You started your socials, got a website up, LAUNCHED aaaand ...
... crickets.
One of the ways you can get found online if you're a niched or local business - like I teach ;) - is through SEO. Search Engine Optimisation.
It sounds techy and scary and expensive - but in reality, it's just about schmoozing and making friends with Google.
The words on your website play a big part in this - and on this episode of the Mumstyle Business Podcast, I'm chatting with special guest Dom Kimber about just that!
Want to stop doing everything in your business but are not sure of the next step?
Hiring is one of those topics that many resist or even actively shy away from.
But the truth is, if you’re a 1:1 service provider, you cannot have true freedom in your business without people.
In this episode of the Mumstyle Business Podcast, we dive into the world of hiring and explore Who To Hire, First.
Let’s do this!
The reasons we start our business are unique, but I find there’s always a common thread. Freedom and flexibility. Being able to choose. Being able to call the shots. Not being capped by someone else’s boundaries of what our time is worth.

Today on the show I'm talking about hard decisions.
As the CEO of your business, it's all on you.
The decisions you make (or don't make), the clients you take on, the staff you hire, the software, the sales ... the everything. It's all on you. And what I've learnt is - that sometimes you need to get rid of a good things to make room for a great thing. Sometimes you have to make the decision that costs you. Sometimes you get really far down the wrong road, and you have to be ok with stepping backwards to leap forward.
But how do you know?
What's step one?
What's the filter we need in place to ensure there's bumpers on the bowling lane?
Listen in and let me know - what's the hardest decision you've had to make in your business so far?
If you can't think of one - it's ok - you'll be well prepared when it does.

Today on the podcast I’m joined by Sonja Leon to discuss finding your inner purpose.
We discuss her journey, kinesiology, healing the inner child and so much more.
Sonja’s presence is calming and her wisdom runs deep. I hope you enjoy our conversation as much as I did.
Over the last ten years Sonja has been supporting woman, mostly Mums to reconnect with their own self-worth, belief in themselves and their purpose so they can fill their own cup again and live into their own life with purpose while also supporting their family.
Using the techniques of Kinesiology, Counselling Kinesiology, as well has her own life experience and intuition
Sonja started her own emotional healing journey about 15-20 years ago before becoming a Mum of 2 very independent and fun loving daughters both currently in high school. Sonja’s journey of Motherhood has taught her a great deal as it has given Sonja the perspective of being a mum and also nurturing her own children and her own inner child to understanding the needs and fulfilment required for both.
Sonja went through various stages in life of feeling very alone, lonely and that she wasn’t good enough and didn’t fit in. Now years later, she find this journey is very common for so many woman, feeling they need to be something else than just themselves to be accepted or worthy. Sonja is drawn to being of service to woman who are ready to rise up even though they may not know how and need support, she loves to be witness to be when woman come back into their empowerment and reconnect with what brings them to life enjoying their family and re-connecting in their relationships.
How does our perception of time impact our day-to-day and our decisions?
In this conversation, Davina Borrow-Jones and I dive into the concept of time.
Making the most of it.
Procrastination.
And carving it out for ourselves in the midst of all the busyness of business, motherhood, and life.
Feel squeamish about sales or wondering how to get a better conversion rate?
Shaylene Cameron is a brain-based sales coach who pairs the fundamentals of psychology with neuroscience. To help online entrepreneurs overcome the fear of selling so that they can communicate their value or raise their rates and consistently enroll more high ticket clients.
Shaylene has built and created and managed multiple six and seven-figure sales teams and has driven over two and a half million dollars in revenue while teaching everything from ethical persuasion to client acquisition and retention to ensure a full circle heart-driven sales process. Now in this episode, we dive into a broad range of topics around sales.
If you have been feeling squeamish about sales, not sure how to approach it, giving it a bit of a haphazard approach - this episode is going to be fantastic for you.
Let’s get into it!
Too many of us start our businesses only to be working for the world’s worst boss … ourselves.
We charge too little, have lacklustre or no systems, and run the road to burnout pretty quickly. It’s a far cry from the profit and freedom we started our business to achieve.
So what’s the key to entrepreneurial freedom?
It lies in 3 areas. Systems, Team, and Leverage.
In this episode we go through all three, and how you can apply these to your business as a service provider just starting out - in preparation for growth (without the painful growing pains).
Confident On Camera, with Jenny De Lacy.
Know you need to include video in your marketing arsenal, but dread making it happen?
Feel self-conscious? Like an imposter? Don’t know what to say? I feel you.
Not many of us naturally love being on camera. But I have good news for you. You can learn to love it, or at least enjoy part of the process. I promise.
This episode is for you if you know you need to UP your video game, but are not quite sure how to tackle it, or how to really optimise this area of your marketing.
In this episode, I interviewed Jenny De Lacy.
Jenny is the go-to video presentation and messaging specialist, helping clients take charge of the tech, embrace their expertise and get more clients by speaking directly to the people who need them most. Her five-step video system helps clients implement video without the self-doubt and costly guesswork. Let’s get into it!
More is not the answer.
Why?
It’s difficult to scale a business that’s bulky and complex.
If you’re looking to move your business to the next level, it’s probably time to simplify.
Start with looking at each stage of your business.
How do you get in front of people?
How do you nurture them and let them get to know you?
How do you sell? How do your onboard and deliver - without a lot of friction and stress?
And how do you get active referrals?
Each of these areas needs to be streamlined. Founded in strategy, and built with systems.
Let’s dive into how to make that happen, so you have the agility to take your business wherever you want it to go!
In this episode, we spoke about Lynda’s story and the work she’s done throughout her career, as well as now in her non-profit.
We dove into how women can really find their voice, use their voice, most importantly, trust their voice. About how we can, and should open our mouths and hearts at the same time. And about providing value, and how if we do, then money never needs to be the focus.
We also explored confidence, decision-making, passion, and purpose.
Lynda embodies the epitome of running and living an Impact Business, and I cannot wait for you to hear her story and be inspired.
You can learn more about and get in touch with Lynda via www.lyndacormier.com
In this episode, we spoke about empowering women, impact-driven business models, sharing your vision, and spreading your light in the world.
We discussed true and genuine connection, and how that is what is at the heart of really great business. And life.
We also talked about expectations. Expectations of our businesses of others, and of ourselves.
It was a complete joy to spend time with this absolute powerhouse of a woman who is so generous with her time, her wisdom, and her gifts.

Too many people just ‘do’ social media to ‘do social media'.
We think we ‘have to’ do IG or FB or reels, but the truth is, we don’t. Then once we do, ‘do it’ we wonder why we aren’t getting flocks of clients banging down our door to work with us.
So let’s take a moment to step back and discover why we should do social media at all, and how we can more than just ‘do it’ but leverage it.
So many of us start our service-based business because we’re great at what we do.
We’re quick. Clients love us. We understand what they want better than they do, and we deliver.
Things come easy to us so we undercharge. Because we’re cheap and great and people love us, we get busy. Too busy.
Work can take over our lives easier than 1, 2, 3.
If that’s you - you’re a service provider feeling the pinch.
A stressed-out service provider looking to move to the agency model but not sure how, or if you even want that?
This episode is for you.
A xx
Thank you thank you thank you to everyone who has listened in to first season of the mumstyle business podcast. AS we mentioned a couple of months ago - we;re moving away from weekly sessions and moving to seasonal - BUT we'll be found weekly over at the Impact Business podcast.
We've spent the last almost 18 months talking everything business and motherhood. The reason I started this podcast was to inspire and empower more women to go after their big audacious business goals.
Now we're stepping it up a level.
We'll be bringing you the same fabulous interviews, marketing strategies and insights - but we won't just be interviewing mummas - and the focus will be on how to build a business that not only solves a need for your clients or customers, and gives you the time and money freedom you want for your family - but makes a difference in the broader sense - in your community, your country or the world.
In my own business, and through the businesses of my clients, I've seen first hand how business can be designed to do good - in and through the business.
Our marketing agency not only helps small family run businesses to grow and provide for the families and establish a legacy - but we also provide no cost marketing services for charities that work with vulnerable communities worldwide.
In my coaching business, I help other entrepreneurs to work their business around their family and achieve their own goals - but they're also in service based businesses and dedicated to transforming the lives of their clients as well.
Whether it's through transforming lives, sustainable production, profit giving, or some other mechanism. In the times we're living in, there is no reason why our businesses can't contribute to the issues we care about.
There are so many businesses working towards making a difference in both big ways and small. On small scales, one person at a time, and large world changing capacities.
I believe all of us were put here for a purpose. Our families are just one of those. There are things that make us angry. Things we want to change. Issues we have ideas about. Causes we want to support.
What if you could support your family, achieve your lifestyle goals AND contribute in the way you want to? You can.
It comes down to thoughtful design, proven business principles and an effective marketing strategy.
We'll be digging into all of this on the Impact Business podcast with weekly episodes starting early 2021.
So if you're ready to think bigger, ready to grow - subscribe for email updates and we'll send you new episodes as they're released.
In this episode of the Mumstyle Business podcast I interviewed Leanne Shelton.
Leanne started her business 6 years ago with a vision of helping clients with their email strategy. Leanne soon saw her expertise could be used in much broader ways, over the entire content strategy - from writing websites to blogs and more.
Here we talked about what content strategy is, the importance of choosing what works for you and your business and being consistent.
If you're struggling with visibility and expanding your brand across socials, this episode might just be what you need to fuel your idea bank.
Enjoy!
Launching a successful venture takes more than creativity, energy, and passion. You also need a sound game plan and a solid understanding of business fundamentals to make it fly.
In this episode I interview author, business advisor and tax expert Tatiana Tsoir.
We deep dive into the nitty gritty around bringing your bold dream to life - in a way that's profitable and sustainable - and FUN!
In this episode of the Mumstyle Business podcast I interviewed Amber Wilfahrt.
Amber has been running her own super successful direct sales business (that also supports brands with a mission) for 11 years.
In this episode we:
•clear up the misconceptions of being in direct sales •give insight on how to run your own sales biz •share tips on how to successfully used social media to grow your business!

Ever felt disconnected from yourself business mummas? Ever struggled with confidence and clarity? Ever wondered about the term feminine leadership?
In this episode I spoke with Self-Leadership and Performance Coach Ela Staniak Leaupepe.
We explore the power of feminine energy, the truth about self-leadership and how to gain confidence and clarity in the decisions we make.
Ela's insight into leadership and performance is incredibly wise, practical and results focussed.
This was one of my favourites and I hope you enjoy it as much as I did!
In this episode of the Mumstyle Business podcast I interviewed Kim Thompson-Pinder of RTI Publishing House.
Kim runs a publishing house that includes services from ghost writing through to editing and publishing - helping professionals get their message out into the world and shine.
We explored the benefits of becoming an author, the ghost writing process, and how to use your book as a tool to build you business.
This episode puts a different spin on becoming an author and moving into authority. Enjoy!
In this episode of the podcast I interviewed Janine Garner.
Janine is a global thought leader on powerful networking, collaboration and leadership, a business growth expert, best selling author and keynote speaker.
If you want more but you're overwhelmed, stuck and not sure how to make it happen - this episode will give you key steps to move forward.
In this conversation we talk about rediscovering ourselves and not conforming to what we think we 'should' be doing, owning our energy, and intentional connection with others.
In this episode with Ellen Costa we dig into her personal story going from entrepreneurial jetsetter to mums of twins.
We talk about Ellen's journey of transformation and rediscovering herself through self care, harassing her background in tantra and wellbeing.
Our conversation is raw and honest and touches on topics that are rarely talked about - the impact of motherhood, wanting more, and harnessing your sexual energy.
Ellen also takes us through a powerful breathing exercise that you can use in your day to reset and increase your energy.
In this episode of the Mumstyle Business Podcast I interviewed Jyotsna Ramachandran, the Founder of Happy Self Publishing.
This was so fun and informative for me, as we dug into the process behind becoming an author, and the marketing that goes into a successful 'best seller' campaign.
Jyotsna does not hold back! This is all the things you wanted to know about becoming a best selling author and didn't know who to ask.
If you've ever thought that you 'had a book in you' - this is definitely one to listen in to.
Enjoy!
Leonie is an International best selling author, (and self described hippy weirdo) who has built a massively successful (7 figure) business working just 10 hours per week.
Want to know how she does it? Come on and listen in.
We talk about motherhood, building a business, and how to go after our big glorious dreams - and achieve them!
This week's episode is really about focus. And perspective. And why we do what we do.
I want to 1 - let you know what's happening. And 2 - inspire you to think bigger about your business - your influence, your impact and your legacy.
So let's get real.
Suz is a bold branding, business and speaker coach. She helps women to build a confidently bold brand so they can show up, stand out and build a profitable business.
I this episode I chat with Suz about the reality of being a mum and a CEO - and how we can use personal branding and content as the foundation to a successful business.
In this episode we dive into the 3 main, biggest and most common mistakes I see with FB ads.
They're probably things you;ve done.
But that's OK. No need to worry - I go into detail about how NOT to make these mistakes - and what to do instead.
Including - how to structure a sales page that actually WORKS.
So let's get into it!
Ever wanted to know how to tap into your genius, and use it to make money? Lots of money?

Nagina works with high performing women to sustainably lose weight while working crazy hours, raising families and everything in between.
We dive deep into practical strategies, including an energy boosting morning routine.
What drives you crazy?
You know what I mean.
The thing that makes you roll your eyes, or grit your teeth, or sigh out loud.
It's the thing that's unfair, or ridiculous, or redundant.
It's the thing that's accepted as the 'done thing' when in reality it's not good for the customer and doesn't really make any sense.
Well - I think that's the thing you should tackle.
Whether we're talking about business, or passion, or philanthropy.
The thing that really gets your goat is the thing you should focus on.
Not convinced?
Listen in.
In this episode I interviewed Mia Hewett. Author, International speaker, world-class business coach.
We dig into topics around imposter syndrome, healing trauma and what it really means to be Meant For More.
Here's a little more about Mia before you listen in ...
Mia Hewett has co-owned and operated a seven-figure business, is an international speaker, and a world-class business coach. Mia is the founder of Aligned Intelligence, a methodology that removes all blind spots, fear, anxiety, and self-doubt leaving you feeling "free to be Me." This allows her clients to stop secretly struggling and live in alignment with their dreams so that they can scale to 6 and 7-figures the fast way.
When Mia was in her thirties she had a multi-million dollar company, happy kids, and a gorgeous house, but still didn't feel like she wasn't good enough. So she read every personal development book she could get her hands on. She took every course, paid to be in the VIP sections, and hired some of the best coaches in the world, but no one could help her figure out what she was missing. She realized that the answer wasn't outside of herself at all, but in her. What she discovered is that she had been trying to solve it all through her mind and what she uncovered is that she needed to heal the emotional side of herself. When we don't heal the emotional side of ourselves we limit our intellect because we can't think greater than how we feel.
Mia has helped hundreds of entrepreneurs who've always known they were meant for more and she is sharing all her secrets in her new book, "Meant For More." The book explains how to stop secretly struggling, awaken your full potential, and discover the Truth about who you really are. Mia is a contributor to Thrive Global, has been featured in The Huffington Post, Forbes and BYL Money channel.
I work and speak with a lot of business owners. Not one of them, ever, has told me they started their businesses to work MORE. Especially not my mummas in business.
BUT unfortunately, that's where a lot of us end up.
Working hard, doing the BUSY work, not the work that actually moves the needle.
So - what moves the needle?
So glad you asked. It's the 3 things you need in your business.
It's LEAD GENERATION, NURTURE & CONVERSIONS.
OK Let's talk about the habits of high performing entrepreneurs. Habits for SUSTAINABLE SUCCESS.
We're the centre of our business universe. We're likely also the centre of our family universe. We need to be strong. We need to support everything else that is happening around us.
So what are the habits of high performing business owners?
In this episode of the podcast I interviewed Regina Peterburgsky from Women On Amazon. Regina has her own podcast, website and Facebook group where she amplifies women's voices in the eCommerce space and provides education and inspiration to women (and men) who are looking to create both financial and time freedom in their lives. We got very nitty gritty around how to start an eCommerce business on Amazon, as well as digging into Regina's own #mumstylebusiness story. I hope you enjoy and learn as much as I did. Thank you Regina!
I talk about the buyer journey a LOT.
Clients need to become AWARE of you before they become INTERESTED in what you offer, before they will DESIRE your product/service, before they take ACTION.
That's a great linear model - that in actual implementation can seem almost impossible. But it's not.
It all starts with AWARENESS. But how do you break through the noise on social media? How do you actually get attention?
Well there's a few ways - and we're going to dig into them today. So buckle up and get ready to choose your path, then implement.
This week on the podcast I interviewed passionate Dietician and business mumma - Ebony Crameri. Ebony has been working as an Accredited Practising Dietitian for over 10 years & has a broad range of nutrition experience having worked as a clinical dietitian in private hospitals, private practice & as a nutrition consultant in the aged care sector.
In this episode we talk about Ebony's passion and the focus of her practice - women's hormonal and early life nutrition. We also talk about how to sustain and look after ourselves through diet with busy working mumma schedules.
Ebony does a fantastic job of making a complex issue - simple. And her insta makes it also look - delicious! I hope you enjoy this as much as I did.
You can find and follow Ebony at projectnutrition.com.au and @hormone.nutrition on Instagram.
I'm talking about the mammoth sea of content that we're all swimming through on social media on a daily basis. We literally see thousands of bits of information in any given day - and in the business sphere - a lot of it is some pretty heavy, action oriented advice.
But what I see is a whole lot of scrolling. A whole lot of consumption of information. A whole lot of comparison to what 'she's doing'.
Annnnnd not a whole lot of action. So let's talk about.
In this episode of the podcast I interviewed Fi Mims. Fi is a well known Melbourne based branding photographer. Her work is well respected across a range of industries, including a great deal of experience working with events. Fi's expertise is personal branding. Her work is focussed on creating images that sends a message to your client about who you are and the problems you solve. Enjoy this episode with Fi!
Yemi and I speak openly and honestly about the #blacklivesmatter movement, and what we as business owners - particularly those of us with white skin - can do to leverage our privilege to make real impact.
We talk about the need to have these conversations. To get comfortable with being uncomfortable. Comfortable with messing up and admitting when we get things wrong.
I invite you to come on over to anneliseworn.com after you've listened, or over on socials and continue the conversation.
The truth about scaling your business is that it's uncomfortable. And you have to get comfortable with being uncomfortable. The quicker that happens, the better it will be. With growth, often comes growing pains. This is what we dig into today, so join me and and let's dig in.
Testing, reading analytics and optimising is the reason people hire marketing agencies. Knowing what to change based on data is critical to getting better results every single time. In today's episode we dig into HOW to test and WHAT to optimise based on the actual DATA. It's nitty gritty - and much easier to learn in our free 5 day workshop starting 8th June inside our Social Marketing Method Facebook group. See you in there, A.
In this current climate, it can be confusing and overwhelming knowing what to do in your business. Especially in the early days, and especially if you're facing big changes in the way you run your business, or adapting to the industry changes that have rocked your business.
It can be difficult to know where to focus your time. Our time is precious and finite and only more so with many of us working with children at home.
In this episode I dig into what I'm investing my time and money in, and what may also work for you in the current climate.
This week on the podcast I'm chatting to Alanah Purtell, co-founder of Idiello. Lana is an Aussie living in the USA, she's a powerhouse marketer, superstar business woman and mother to a young son. After spending the better part of a decade running large-scale marketing campaigns for businesses and government alike (and seeing the creative ideas she poured her heart and soul into creating fall by the wayside), Lana had a realisation. Generating creative, show-stopping marketing ideas hurts most people's brains, and she is factory for them. The ideas that are discarded by one business might be pure gold for another. And so, Idiello was born.
I've been in conversations with a few women over the last few weeks that tell me they want to build their business, but have time and money restrictions.
I get it - we all do. Especially when you start a business. Hey - it's the whole reason behind the Marketing Mentor Program. But I want to speak to that mindset just a little. So listen in here.
I consider myself pretty Insta savvy - but I'd never used the platform the way I did for our latest launch - and it really blew my mind. So I want to share it with you.
Every couple of months I run a free 5 day workshop in our Facebook Group - to help small business owners DIY Ads That Convert. Tune in to discover some of the secrets behind the pyschology of ads that convert.
Learn how to think through the process of crafting your offer to be relevant NOW, moving people down the buyer journey, defining your target audience and coming up with the details of your ads.
This week on the podcast I interviewed Wendy Cole, Director and Lead Facilitator at iMastery.
In this episode we benefit from Wendy's hands-on experience as a business owner, general manager, consultant and parent as we discuss productivity in the current climate.
If you're struggling to optimise focus and master distraction trying to manage your business with children in the home, tune in to this week's episode. Now more than ever we need to be laser focussed on the things that are going to move the needle. This episode is going to help you identify those things are prioritise them.
Data.
Yes, we know it's boring.
But you know what's not boring? Saving money. Decreasing your cost per lead. Decreasing your cost per sale.
Definitely not boring. So what do you need to know?
This video we go through 3 different aspects of your data you should be looking at to help optimise your marketing results.
Welcome to the Mumstyle Business Podcast. This is the introductory episode to the rebranded 'Business Mumma' Podcast by Mumma Digital.
Tune in to hear details of the rebrand and what you can hope to expect!
We're talking Facebook and Instagram today.
Specifically, Facebook and Instagram ads.
When you're thinking about running ads, we need to be thinking about what makes people stop scrolling. Because more than half of your visitors are going to be on their phones.
Your whole aim is to interrupt what they're doing long enough that they get drawn into your ad.
How do you do that? Well there's a few ways so let's dig into it.
Today we're going deeper from last week where I dished out some tough love around having a marketing plan and working the plan.
It all starts with a vision. Then it's about the strategy. Then the plan. Then the tactics.
In this episode we step each out of these to help you craft the overall vision for your business, and then make it happen.
We all need a little but of tough love today, and I'm serving it out because I've been hearing the same thing again and again.
"I don't have time for marketing."
Guess what? You're never going to have the time.
You're probably never going to feel like it. Never going to wake up every morning and jump out of bed excited to do your marketing. I do, but that's a different story.
If marketing isn't your thing, it's ok not to love it.
But it's not ok not to do it.
Just like your finances - you don't have to love it, you DO have to do it. You have to make time for it.
You have to MAKE time for marketing.
Because if you don't - your competitors will.
Too many women are busy doing all the things.
Trying to be a good mumma, a good wife, a good business woman, a good employee, a good housekeeper, a good cook, a good friend ... and in the search for goodness, there's too much on the plate.
There's nothing wrong with wanting to be good at all those things, and to strive for excellence. But excellence is in the quality, not the quantity.
We don't need to do more. We need to do less. We need to do the important things. And we need to do them in the right order.
In this episode we talk about the eMyth principles to help reframe the work we are doing in our business, and what we can do to set ourselves up for success without the overwhelm.
For years I was the girl who, literally - no joke, would visibly shake and stutter during an oral presentation at school. I couldn't help it. I'd turn into this quivering pile of jelly, every single time, without fail. It was like a wave of sheer panic would wash over me. Even if I consciously felt fine. That was the thing - I didn't NOT want to do the presentation. But my body didn't want me to. That's how deep the fear was. It was awful. I was embarrassed and I didn't know how to overcome it.
If only I knew then what I know now about mindset. And practise. And service. And walking in my purpose to create the impact I was made to make in this world.
That's why I recorded this episode of the podcast.
I promise it doesn't always have to be this way. Listen in to hear how I got through my fear and practical tips on what you can do to own your message and have confidence on stage.
This episode is a taster of the Marketing, Mindset & Movement workshop happening inside our Business Mummas FB group this week.
We're talking about how to combine ambition + motherhood without the overwhelm. And it all comes down to WELLBEING.
Physical, cognitive and professional wellbeing to be exact.
Listen in and look forward to hearing your thoughts1
Annelise xx
This week on the podcast we go into structuring your video, where to shoot it, what equipment you need, when to do it and go into LIVES and STORIES ... the more scary stuff than pre-recorded videos.
So if you're looking to up your video game in 2020, listen in now.
This week on the podcast we're talking about video. It can require a shift in us mindset wise to put ourselves out there. Before we can do that, it's helpful to know why everyone's harping on about it.
We go through why video is so powerful, how you can get over the fear of creating them, and what it can do for your brand, your business and your sales.
Today we're getting serious. Now before you run away, this is something we all need to lean in too. It's something that we can often ignore and put our head in the sand about but we shouldn't. We're talking about our legal obligations and protecting ourselves when we're doing business online.
This is VERY important episode and I really hope you listen in to the end, and then put a time on your calendar to look at your legal situation and get it all sorted so its off your plate and you're protecting your business and your family.
TO dig into this super important topic I chatted with Davina Borrow-Jones, The Mumpreneur Lawyer.
How NOT to do relationship marketing.
In conversations this week I've been chatting with heaps of mummas about how to make relationship marketing work for them. Too many have been on the receiving end of salesy, spammy messages and they know that they DON'T want to do that. And fair enough. Me neither.
What we're talking about with relationship marketing is connecting with your audience on a 1:1 level, and engaging with them in an authentic way. The why? So you know your customers well enough to serve them properly. The benefit is - when you serve your audience properly, they stick around, and they talk about you. WIN and WIN. Everyone wins. That's how to do business well.
We hear it again and again ... collaboration over competition.
But do we really believe it? DO we really believe we're stronger together?
In today's day and age, with social media at the core of our businesses and millions of other accounts to compare ourselves too - it's easy to let limiting beliefs creep in. It's easy to think that all these amazing accounts are our competition, that we have to be better and that there's not enough pieces of the pie for all of us.
I used to think this, because working in corporate, there's only one 'manager' or 'CEO' or 'fill in the blank'. But I realised in business when I began working with mums in business, that it didn't have to be that way.
Relationship marketing centres around life time value. It's the principle of building rapport and getting to know your clients and prospective clients, them getting to know you and like you, serving them directly, and building a positive relationship with them.
Basically, it's the opposite of Maccas drive through.

In this episode I interviewed successful entrepreneur, and mum, Sarah Butler. Sarah co-founded Organic Angels with her husband Scott over a decade ago, and they home deliver certified organic produce around Melbourne and Victoria. The business idea was sparked in 2006 from their home kitchen, when they were planning to introduce solid foods to their first son. They started with delivering 10 boxes a week from their station wagon, and after a mention in Melbourne newspaper, The Age, their business exploded.
I wanted to talk about a bit of a 2019 wrap up, as it can be easy to feel a little bit defeated at the end of the year, especially if you didn't reach your goals, or you're not exactly where you wanted to be. So I step through a holistic overview, and get really practical about what that looks like. I get you to reflect back on the year, using the eight dimensions of wellbeing to gauge where you are at, and get you excited and motivated for a fantastic 2020.

The past two months I've broken my own 'rules'.
Though even the best rule has an exception.
Two months ago my husband deployed for a month disaster relief work in the Bahamas - in the aftermath of Hurricane Dorian. My grandparents were also away for a two month stint in Europe, and my mum was unwell. In other words, my closest support and the people I usually rely on were not available to be relied upon.
I was left with three children(6, 4, 1), a house, 2 businesses and my sanity to maintain.
Here's what happened.

'Whether you think you can or you can't, either way you're right.' - Henry Ford.
Thanks Henry. He's right though. Our limiting beliefs are the reason we're not where we want to be in our lives.
It took me a long time to realise this. I didn't realise I was holding any limiting beliefs. Until my business was at a plateau I couldn't shift.
Are you the person you want to be in every area of your life? If not, what do you need to believe differently?
This episode includes an exercise you can use to discover what your limiting beliefs actually are, and change them.
You need to say something different to what you've been saying. Change your language to change your thoughts. Not the other way around.
You have to be intentional and focussed. This episode will help you be just that.
In this episode we think about wellbeing in 3 key elements, and talk about the ways in which they are positively and negatively intertwined.
I encourage you to explore your wellbeing holistically and notice the link between wellbeing, productivity and PROFIT.
In this interview I spoke with Kate Toon.
Kate is a speaker, an author, a copywriter - and a hula hooper. She breaks down the super techy (and actually pretty boring) topic of SEO and makes is FUN. Yes. SEO and FUN in the same sentence.
Kate's also not afraid of going deep. In this interview, we chat about the important stuff. The realities of owning your own online business and being a mother as well - the good, bad and the really bad. We get into the opinions of others, the opinions of ourselves, jealousy, staying in your own bubble and the important of light and shade in your week.
Enjoy!
More and more as I speak and work with business mummas, it becomes apparent that wellbeing is often misunderstood, and neglected.
As mothers we often put ourselves last, and as business owners, the trend continues.
In this episode we talk about holistic wellbeing in these 8 areas:
Physical Social Emotional Intellectual Vocational Environmental Spiritual Financial
Enjoy!
A xx
Janna is a total power house , and one of my good friends. In this episode I spoke with her about her 6 year journey of starting and growing 2 businesses from home - starting when her third child was born.
We talk about business productivity, balancing working from home with being a mum, and the planning process behind the businesses she's created.
Please enjoy!
OK, real talk.
The truth about work life balance is ... that it DOES exist. But potentially not in the way you imagine.
Balance conjures up images of two scales where each side has an equal weight - and the scale is balanced. Work life balance probably doesn't look like that. And really - why should it? It's not as thought anything else in our life has equal parts.
In this episode learn what work/life balance looks like for me - and how I, and my clients, set about achieving it.
Oksana Katorjevskaya is the owner and builder at Your Favourite Homes. Oksana has an incredible story of reskilling and working in a male dominated field as a home builder.
You'll hear how Oksana juggles motherhood, study, career and a business that's demanding and has a lot of high value moving parts. Incredibly honest and passionate, Oksana is strategic about her delicate balancing act and shares her secrets of success in this episode.
Arriving in Melbourne from Moscow, Russia in 2002, she faced Visa issues and the possibility of being deported to Russia. By chance, she met her partner and started a career in telecommunications.
A random invitation to a property seminar in 2006 saw Oksana purchase her first property and execute a subdivision and development. Oksana engaged a builder and project managed the development whilst still working full time and nursing her newborn son. On advice and encouragement from her builder, she secured her builders license and embarked on her professional building career - still working full time and having two little children!
Whilst studying for her Certificate 4, she found herself struggling and almost quit during an exam. Swallowing her tears she went back into the exam and completed it, successfully graduating and then secured her second development site.
Oksana's day consisted of dropping her children at childcare, visiting the asite, going to her full time job, collecting the children from childcare then checking on the building site. Realising they were surviving with very little money in the bank, long hours and children in childcare, Oksana decided to secure her builders license. Her first attempt for a licence was a failure.
She then quit her full time job, purchased a block of land and started her first owner builder project. Learning on the job, she finished the project and sat for the builders license again, which she passed. And the rest as they say, is history.
It was an absolute pleasure to chat with Oksana and hear her incredible story and how she has stayed committed to her business dream, whilst overcoming many hurdles along the way.
