Geoff McDonald The Best Thing I’ve Learnt GeoffMcDonald.comRecently a colleague asked me:
What’s the best thing you’ve learnt in the past six or twelve months?
And, I immediately thought, ‘What a great question!’ It took a little longer to come up with my answer.
Firstly, I think this is a great question that we should all take a moment and consider. What insight, idea or inspiration has given you the most food for thought, bang for your buck or jolted your thinking in recent times? You might like to share this with your clients and colleagues in a similar way that I’m doing this here.
Secondly, I want to share my answer because it really could be a piece of gold that enables you to grow your business in a dramatic way in the shortest period of time.
And, importantly, it’s not a piece of one-track, silo-thinking business advice. It’s way more general, more versatile and useful than that.
The best thing I’ve learnt in the past six months is: The Neurobiology of Insight.
That’s a pretty fancy name for the science of insight and it’s probably the secret to creativity, innovation and clever thinking.
Previously, I blogged about this and I thought it was worthy of it’s own Ideas Architect podcast episode so you can learn from this. I suggest this might be the most important single practice and habit to adopt in your business – and your life – take time out to reflect.
