Hi There -Welcome back to another episode of Bedtalks. Please note that while alternative treatments to deal with trauma are discussed on this show, these are the expressed views of our guest. We always recommend meeting with your healthcare provider to determine the optimal treatment for you and your mental health. On this show, we interview someone who had to take a nontraditional journey that wasn't always easy or familiar. Sometimes, the hardest path to take is when you don't know the destination, and the path to get there can feel fuzzy, unclear, and emotionally painful. In our interview with Morgan Englund, a former actor and son of beloved Cloris Leachman, we learn of his journey of rediscovery and connecting to the things that matter the most to him. Morgan discusses his journey as an actor, his desire for emotional connection, navigating Tinseltown, aka Hollywood, and settling into connecting back with himself.Morgan has started a different chapter in his life, and he takes us through what he has learned to heal and start anew. We think you will find this interview eye-opening if you are on a road that feels unclear, you're looking to shift things in your life, or you feel that you have unresolved trauma. We are getting down and dirty in this episode, exploring Sexual Intimacy 101 with Candace Johnson, the founder of Gooshy Candy, and creator of the Touchy/Feely intimacy game card. Candace opens up freely with us about her experiences which shaped her sexual understanding, growth, and discovery.
Candace shifted her career as a Television News Producer of a highly popular program in Philadelphia to follow her heart, intuition, and spirit in launching this endeavor to help people learn how to connect with one another. She has worked with many diverse types of couples, those in the early phases of a relationship, those in long-term relationships, those who have lost their mojo, and those seeking to understand their sexual identity. She created the Touchy/Feely intimacy game card to help couples who struggle to express their sexual needs to one another in an open and transparent way. Candace has had her own journey too! She has explored many types of relationships and figured out what is the connective force that can bridge the sexual education gap between two people in a relationship.
Listen in as we chat with Candace and ask her questions about Sexual Intimacy 101 and why it matters in keeping your relationship whole. And please remember to subscribe to future episodes of Bedtalks on the Anchor App, iTunes, Google Podcasts, Spotify, and many other platforms.

Relationships can be happy and fulfilling, but they can be nearly impossible to achieve if you keep making the same missteps over and over again. Listen in as K & I explore what needs to be your toolbox for love! This brings me to my guests this week, Decoding Couples. Stacey Sherrell and Rachel Facio are Licensed Therapists. "Even with good communication, a relationship may not work." In this week's Bedtalks podcast, we speak with Break up Coach, Natalia Juarez. I like this quote because we are often told if you have good communication with someone you have a chance to make the relationship work.
Here's the truth of the matter. Even with great communication, it doesn't guarantee you and the other person in your relationship are meant to be together. K & I explore this topic with Natalia Juarez a nationally recognized Break up Coach.
We discuss the following:
-How do you know if you should stay or leave a relationship?
-How does your attachment style affect how you connect/disconnect from a relationship?
-Compatibility based dating and how this can shift the relationships you choose
-How time + action heals wounds
-The danger of the one-sided relationship

"Iron sharpens iron," is a commonly known phrase. But, often when the sharpening happens between two people in a relationship, inevitably one party may feel like ending or exiting the relationship. The hard truth about relationships is that when two people come together with their own individual standards, it can be difficult to learn how to bring those standards together to create a long-lasting partnership.
When a relationship is highly weighted on one individual versus the couple collectively, this imbalance can create some significant challenges in the relationship in the long term. However, when you know what is likely to happen and how you can navigate these things proactively, you can shift your perspective and learn how to embrace and work through these moments.
The hard truth about relationships is a lot of inner work has to happen in order for you to be steady in a relationship. Without doing this inner work, it's likely you will experience similar cycles following you in your other relationships. This is one of the reasons why we were excited to speak with Antwain Jackson.
Antwain Jackson is many things, a Pastor, Leader in his community, Speaker, Author of the Creative Leader Book, and someone who counsels many single and married individuals on dating, love, and relationships. His authenticity, raw honesty, and ability to say what others have shied away from saying made for an interesting conversation.
K & I thoroughly enjoyed this eye-opening conversation and we think you will too!

Hi Y'All-
We're thrilled to be talking to Danai Maraire. Danai is a well-respected couples coach. She works with everyday couples like you and me as well as celebrity clients too. Denai feels her calling to help others navigate their relationships is tied to the meaning of her name. Her name means "to love each other."
Many are running from love while trying to find it at the same time. At the same time, others tend to self-sabotage their relationships. Fear around surrendering to vulnerability, while not recognizing the possibility for love stops many from the journey to connect with another person in a meaningful way. While a lack of trust, fear of being open, and a belief system that vulnerability is a weakness are the culprits, there are ways to flip these so that you shift your relationship trajectory. On the other side of learning how to navigate and explore these feelings are true connection and intimacy when you are in the right relationship.
Danai, myself, and K explore this during this bedtalks episode. Listen in as we explore the thing that many of us are running from is the thing that we may need the most.

Hey Everyone-
We're back with another podcast talking about the importance of human connection. While we have even more ways to connect with others, strangely with access to all of these avenues to connect, many of us are still left looking and craving connection.
Thomas Knox is trying to change the way you relate to others, one person at a time. Thomas is known as the "The Connection Curator." He set up a sign in the subway in NYC that stated, "Date while you wait," to get people talking to another. Through these experiences of talking to others, Thomas has learned a lot about others and realized that our differences don't mean we aren't relatable.
Thomas is leading a social initiative to get people back to talking to one another and having real face-to-face conversations. He shares his experiences, which will surprise you about what's on everyone's mind.

Managing Life's Changes can be difficult. Here is where Nicole Richmond of Making A Stylish Exit can help you out. Nicole has the perfect story of survival and resilience to help you think about taking that leap of faith to the next thing but are feeling stuck or in paralysis analysis.
You made it through. You are here. 2020 likely brought you some significant growth personally, spiritually, and mentally. What started as a quiet year went in a completely different direction with a pandemic, political upheaval, strong racial tensions, increased violence, and so much more. Some of you may have lost loved ones due to COVID or natural causes. Some of you may have had to carve out a new career path. Others may have found the last year to be a reboot of sorts to clarify what matters in life.
The Ups and Downs of 2020
Personally, 2020 was the highest of highs and the lowest of lows for me. I married my husband in a perfectly intimate COVID ceremony. But, I also lost one of my favorite uncles and my mother, whose imprint on my life I canât describe as she was my best friend and closest confident. Her loss leaves a constant ache and a missing piece in my heart.
Like you, Iâm taking one day at a time, trying to stay optimistic. But with a new year comes an opportunity for change, renewal, and growth. And that is a positive thing. Iâm digging deeper into my spirituality, purpose and just trying to continue to figure out this thing called life.
One thing which can help you through any challenge is knowing that you are not alone and learning how someone has overcome a similar challenge. So I thought it would be motivating to kick-off the new year with a story of survival, intention, and resilience.
A Story To Help You Manage Major Life Changes
Meet Nicole Richmond of Making A Stylish Exit. You will relate to Nicoleâs story if you have ever had to make a difficult decision that would dramatically change everything in your life. Itâs a new year, and for many, you may be contemplating your relationships with your significant other or making a change in your life that will take you in a completely different direction. If you fear a significant change you know you need to make, I think this podcast interview will help give you the courage to forge ahead.
Please share your story of resilience in the comments and what it has meant for you, your life, family, etc.

K and I had the pleasure of interviewing Naysha Sonet. Naysha is from the beautiful and #3 ranked country of happiness, Norway. However, even though Naysha lives in one of the happiest countries, she didn't always feel happy with herself. After a bad break-up, she had to learn how to find someone she had lost as a result of the break-up, herself.
We crossed paths as I followed Naysha's personal journey and transformation via self-love. She has insight and wisdom that belies her age. I was impressed and continue to be impressed to watch her journey, how she helps others and is building space for others to recognize their own personal value.

We are living in a time where we are being forced to take a time-out, be reflective, and re-prioritize what we thought might have the most important. During this time K and I think it's important to inspire us to be aware of the current events which are happening and to also use this time to bring on guests and discuss topics that will encourage you to your greater purpose. Honestly, things are scary now and the events unfolding are unprecedented. However, they also present a unique time to re-evaluate, re-focus and re-energize. Out of scarcity and turmoil, often comes great ingenuity.

COVID-19 is top of mind for many of us and your feelings about it have likely intensified over the last several weeks. Â While we don't want to add to creating additional anxiety around what is happening, we thought it would be a good time to think about ways to look at your relationship and do things that can help to nurture it. Like COVID-19, there will always be outside, external forces that we can't control that will come along that will challenge the fabric and framework of your relationship. It's important to find ways to use factors outside of your relationship to keep it nourished, thriving, and healthy. Listen in and let us know what you think. Entrepreneurship can add another layer to a relationship. The demands of running a business and being responsible for bringing in revenue for your business and employees can add additional pressure when your workday doesn't end like the usual 9-5 job role.  However, entrepreneurship has its rewards too. Being enmeshed in doing something in which you are passionate, or being able to create your legacy with your trademark on your business endeavors can't be understated or underrated. There is pride in establishing and forging your pathway independently. It takes lots of grit, determination, and doggedness, but we've seen over and over again with innovative businesses that it's possible. Fred and Notoya, the founders of MediaTakeout, the urban version of TMZ have a unique story. They ran various businesses in the past and used these learnings to build additional success by carving out a voice for people of color in the entertainment space. They have worked hard to grow their business empire while also building their relationship with one another too. They have been together for 20+ years. Having a family, which includes their triplets, has continued to impact how they approach the legacy they are building for themselves and their family.  If you are an entrepreneur, you will enjoy their story, their advice to building your empire, and how to keep your relationship on track during the journey. K & I thoroughly enjoyed interviewing these two, and I think you will enjoy the show as well. Let us know what you think in the comments below. You and I live in a world of instant gratification. Many things are readily available at the click of a button, the use of a credit card (instant pay via your phone) along with many other conveniences that life affords us. Sometimes instant gratification can be a good thing. However, in other times the beauty and joy in receiving something that you have worked hard for can come as a result of delayed gratification. Whether you are single, in a new relationship or a more mature relationship sometimes delaying gratification is critical in having a relationship that is healthy, fulfilling and long-lasting. Listen in as K and I discuss how and why delayed gratification can be a good thing.
We have a new episode of Bedtalks for you.
This topic came to mind because K and I were having a discussion about a friend of ours who was married over 20 years who is now going through a divorce. She stated that even though her divorce isn't yet final, that she has prayed and manifested that she will be married in 2020. As a relationship coach, I wanted to delve deeper into this topic because this isn't uncommon, but it also got our wheels spinning regarding how people perceive marriage versus single life.
Does being married make you feel more significant versus being single? Do we inadvertently attach more status to being married? Is it true that you will be happier and less lonely in a marriage versus being single?
K & I dig deeper into this topic and answer these questions and many more during our podcast discussion.
Until next time, XoXo
