“Aloha! I’m Patrick Landeza, and I’m from the island of Berkeley, California.” Audiences chuckle whenever Patrick introduces himself, in part because it has become an inside joke that he shares with those who attend his concerts regularly – he says it every single time. But the fact that Patrick is from Berkeley is key in how he defines himself and his role in Hawaiian music. Not only is he an exceptional and award-winning slack key guitarist; he has also been producing Hawaiian concerts for over twenty years, and teaches slack key guitar in music camps and classes around the country. He has become northern California’s – if not much of the West Coast’s – go-to man for all things related to Hawaiian music, and he is one of the essential seams binding California’s Hawaiian community together. This didn’t happen overnight. Patrick’s well-regarded status is due to many years of hard work, persistence, talent, and a huge amount of aloha.

Though now living in beautiful Waimānalo, Kawika grew up in the small town of Kaneohe on the windward side of Oahu. One cannot think about the windward side without images of the breathtaking Koolau mountain range, lush, green valleys and the magnificent ocean views. Born to Samuel (Uncle Sam) and Josephine (Aunty Jo) Kahiapo, Kawika is the 5th of 6 children. Kawika's interest in music began at an early age, when, inspired by his father, he spent many hours alone in his room strumming along. Some of his fondest memories are of their "garage" jam sessions, when "Pops" Gabby Pahinui would show up with his guitar and bottle of vodka. This is what inspired Kawika's passion for ki hoalu (slack-key guitar). Today, Kawika continues to perpetuate the art of ki hoalu in his sound recordings and annually at Slack Key Festivals. He was honored as the 2007 Na Hoku Hanohano Slack Key Artist of the year. At the age of 17, Kawika entered the professional music scene, joining Chucky Boy Chock and Oahu Brand, then soon thereafter found himself on stage as a member of Palani Vaughan's Kings Own. He married his high school sweetheart, Laurie Yano, and they have been blessed with five children and three beautiful grandchildren. Over the years, Kawika has contributed his musical talent to some 108+ recording projects and has collaborated or performed with artists such as Jack Johnson, Kaukahi, Palani Vaughan, Melveen Leed, Brother Noland, Leon and Malia, Kawehi Lindsey, Jesse Rivera, Kapena, Pierre Grill, Na Leo Pilimehana, Kelly Boy Delima, Del Beazley, Native Hawaiian Band ,Cyri Pahinui, Amy Gilliom, Dennis Kamakahi, Daniel Ho, Paula Fuga, Martin Pahinui, Rene Paulo, and Walt Keale. Besides being a recording artist and an ordained minister, Kawika is also on the Kokua Hawai'i Foundation board, a non-profit organization that supports environmental education in the schools and communities of Hawai'i. This is the reason many of you may have seen Kawika emceeing the Kokua Hawai'i Festivals and jumping on stage with Jack Johnson at some point during the concert. This is one of the ways Kawika is able to be a blessing to the community and our 'aina.

Tavana is a multi-instrumentalist from Honolulu, HI who uses his feet to lay down a variety of grooves while simultaneously playing guitar, banjo, lap steel, or ukulele and singing soulful, island-inspired Rock and Blues.   "I perform everything live and use no looping. Everything is played moment to moment...It's hard to explain how fun it is to do this. It's like having a whole band in your body and mind. And they can stop and go together on a dime!!! They can slow down, speed up or whatever in perfect unity! Every sound comes with its own identity, colors, and emotions creating a much larger pallet from which to express myself. Additionally, it gives my mind very little time to stray away from the music resulting in a truly meditative state."  It's A Hawaii Thing Productions. Ever since I can remember I was always outside. Maybe it was because my father loved to fish and always took us along. He taught me and my brothers many different ways to catch dinner. We started with bamboo poles, graduated to rods and reels, and then went onto throwing nets and spear fishing. Fishing took up much of my young life until I was introduced to surfing. Once I caught that first wave, surfing became a life long obsession. All surfers are keenly aware of the weather and I was no different. I kept an eye on the conditions just so I wouldn't miss out on that epic session. Back then, surf forecasts were rudimentary at best. I remember going to the beach many times expecting big waves only to find the ocean flat. It's just amazing how far along weather forecasting has come. I started doing surf reports for a couple of radio stations around 1980 and continued on for more than 15 years. It was a pretty good gig since I was in the surf industry, besides my mother always told me I had the perfect face for radio. During those years I dabbled in triathlons as well. I completed the Kona Ironman twice, as well as the Okinawa Strongman. Long since retired from competition, I now limit my sporting activities to surfing, golfing and one week a year of snowboarding. Despite my mother's misgivings, I started in TV in 1997 as the morning weather man on KHNL with Lee Cataluna. We had a great time and we remain good friends. I joined KGMB9 in 2001 and made my debut on a very infamous day. September 11, 2001. The eerie thing is that Kim and I had just returned from New York on the previous night. Since then we've been through a lot more, most of it good. Our son Luke was born in 2002 and our daughter Alia was born in 2003. Our family is blessed to live in the most beautiful place on Earth, with of course the most fantastic weather. We love going to the beach to surf, going hiking in the valleys and playing ball in the park.

Most days you can find me chasing my children, sitting in front of my green screen, nose in a book or consuming personal and professional development online. I’m a Big Island girl at heart, and now a Maui mama. I’m a wife to my husband Kaimi, and devoted mother of two amazing, spirited, kolohe (rascal) little ones. I’m a podcaster, journalist, host, producer, coach, consultant, writer, singer, teacher, student, lover of nature, and a woman who simultaneously seeks calming comforts and soul-awakening adventures! I am mostly known for serving my community with up-to-the-minute pro bono severe weather updates – yes, the weather isn’t always perfect! People often refer to them as “tita bun” updates, as most days you’ll find me in yoga pants and a mom bun. Otherwise, this surfer mama lives in a bikini! I enjoy teaching free CPR classes, donating blood with the Blood Bank of Hawaii (I’m O+ baby!), organizing food drives/fundraisers for the Maui Food Bank, helping to promote local people and businesses, using my platform as an influencer to encourage sustainable living practices, regularly hosting events, and (try my best at) inspiring people at my speaking engagements.

Sylvia Jefferies used to do pretend commercials and sing songs from The Muppet Show and Fame to her stuffed animals before she risked it all and moved to New York City to audition for The American Academy of Dramatic Arts. When she completed her time there, having odd jobs that gave her insurance and 800number so that she could call her Mama, she left and began her carnie life moving where the acting jobs were.

From New York to New Orleans and to Los Angeles, where she met a baby with no eyebrows(Bailey), and the Mama of the baby with no eyebrows (Brook), at a beautiful Latin lady’s pool party, her instincts have never failed her. Sylvia is most known for roles where she doesn’t get to brush her hair and is ‘“less than socially acceptable” like Tracy on HBO’s Eastbound and Down, Jolene on ABC’s Nashville, the Once Beautiful Woman in the feature film, Shaft, Rob Zombie’s bloody victims Misty Dawn in Halloween 2 and Heather Starship Galen in Three From Hell, and other roles that her very southern mother wishes she could let her old lady friends watch. Aside from the few Hallmark Christmas movies where she actually had her hair brushed, Sylvia gets to wear clothes AND makeup in her new project, The Game, which she is currently filming in Atlanta.
