This podcast was created for all teachers and staff in our District. We invite all to listen and share. If you are not part of our District, you are welcome as well to our Podcast. Please share it out freely to those who you think could benefit. The podcast's hosts are Ryan Read and Cathie Murphy. Both Ryan and Cathie work in the Business & Technology Department at Stillman Valley High School. The purpose and goal of these podcasts is to allow teachers a platform to share with others the exciting activities that they are doing in their classrooms.

Our first episode of a series of episodes for 2021 with Dr. P.J. Caposey. This episode defines culture vs climate and discusses the laying of a solid foundation for our District and classrooms. Dr. Caposey expresses his thoughts on how teachers may approach continuous growth, pursuit of excellence by defining integrity and equity and finding courage over comfort. Culture is like a seed: either we produce a nurturing environment or we let the culture erode away. What is important is the story I am telling myself.

In our six podcast, we mean to accomplish a couple of goals today. First, we will be speaking with Ms Becky Barton from Stillman Valley Junior High School. Becky has been a science teacher at the Junior high for several years. With that in mind, we will be discussing how hybrid learning has impacted and rocked his teaching world. Second, Ryan and Cathie will be sharing with all of you some tips on some apps that you might want to try out as digital tools for getting to know your students at the start of the year.

In our second podcast, we are talking to our very first guest. He is a consultant, and provider of professional development and has recently keynoted several national conferences specializing in time management, the tyranny of the status quo, school culture, continuous improvement, social media, and teacher evaluation. He currently serves as a Superintendent for Meridian MCUSD #223, please welcome Dr. PJ Caposy.

Welcome to the first episode of the new Meridian 223 Podcast, made by teachers, for teachers.
