Ayo Obe joins us tonight on CovInspiration.
One of the leading light of the June 12 struggle is human rights activist, Ms Ayo Obe. While the struggle to actualise the June 12 mandate was on, Ayo Obe, who is a legal practitioner, chose to fight the battle from the home front instead of going on exile. She boldly faced live bullets from security operatives on several occasions and never gave up the struggle. She was also there to provide free legal services to those arrested by the military junta of Ibrahim Babangida and Sani Abacha. Ms. Obe was President of the Civil Liberties Organisation (CLO), Nigeria’s oldest indigenous human rights Organisation. Join us tonight on

Dr. Joe Okei-Odumakin joins us tonight on CovInspiration at 9pm. This fiery social activity and Amazon woman traversed courageously where men fear to tread. She remained consistent without minding the hazards to her person during the Abacha regime. She became one of the targets of the administration as she was arrested and detained for not less than seventeen times at different locations but her spirit was not daunted and became the Assistant General Secretary of CD in 1994 at a time the battle against the annulment of June 12 had become so fierce. Frank Kokori shut down Nigeria before CoronaVirus could imagine locking us down, and he joins us tonight on CovInspiration at 6pm to share the story. Chief Kokori was the General Secretary of The Nigeria Union of Petroleum and Natural Gas Workers, NUPENG, and was at the forefront of the Organised Labour struggle for democracy in Nigeria. He was detained without trial by the regime of General Abacha in 1994 (till 1998). In that year, a strike by Nigerian oil workers and others was put down by the military regime and a wave of repression against the oil unions and their leaders was unleashed. Join us on

Aare Gani Adams joins us tonight on CovInspiration to share his June 12 story.
Aare is the Leader of the Oodua People’s Congress (OPC), who lost over 2500 members during the June 12 pro democracy struggle. Adams is the 15th Aare Ona Kakanfo of Yorubaland. The chieftaincy was last held by Moshood Abiola before his death in 1998. OPC was renowned for their egg bomb during the struggle, they set buildings on fire with just an egg.

Dr. Falana is renowned for providing free legal services to the poor and disadvantaged and had suffered long spells in detention under Nigeria’s past military dictators. His activism began during his days as a student leader in the university. He stood his ground against oppression from successive military governments.

Bashorun Dele Momodu is on CovInspiration today. Renowned as the Publisher of Ovation Magazine, Africa’s premier celebrity magazine, he was a protégée and mentee of Chief MKO Abiola. Dele has to run into exile leaving his Wife MOBOLAJI behind when Abacha targeted him for his role in the June 12 struggle. Moving to GHANA and then England, he joined the Pro-Democracy groups in the UK and worked to defend the integrity of Nigeria.

Mrs Folasade Adefisayo is a Doyen in the education eco-system. She has nearly 40 years working experience spanning banking operations, organizational restructuring, human resource management, international trade and education. She retired from Corona Schools’ Trust Council in 2010 after twelve years of service. During this period, she was the Executive Director and CEO for over 8 years and retired in August 2010. She voluntarily served as the Director of the Corona Secondary School, Agbara from 2010 to 2014 and finally retired from the services of the Trust Council in August 2014.
She was a Merit Award winner of the Federal Republic of Nigeria and a University Scholar of the University of Ibadan, Nigeria.
