Bryan Fischer here with Today’s Life and Liberty Minute. The fertility rate that’s required to keep a population stable is 2.1. That is, if women on average have 2.1 children, the population will neither grow nor shrink. However, America’s birth rate is now at historic lows, just 1.7 children per woman. Last year, American women gave birth to the lowest number of babies in 32 years. This means that America will soon begin running out of Americans. What’s the solution? As always, it’s found in Scripture. God says in Genesis 1:28 that we are to “be fruitful and multiply.” He’s never changed his mind about that. Now if American families are going to multiply and not must replace themselves, they need to have an average of three children. Large families are not a burden - they are the key to America’s future.
