In the beginning, everything was seen as good in the eyes of God. However, we often forget this, and focus on Adam and Eve, the original sin, and our own imperfections. Many of us have carried the understanding that the grace of God develops when we accept Jesus into our lives.
However, prevenient grace is the idea that, before we have any experience of what God is, God was already calling us, seeking us, and providing us with grace and our response to God's converting grace, also known as our salvation, requires two actions: our repentance and faith.
God's grace is for everyone, and moves to where we are in life as we grow closer to God.

God invites us to have a transformational relationship with him and others, one based on trust, built over time, and focused on what others need.

While the Israelites were in the desert, they complained that they were hungry for bread and meat, that they may have been better off in Egypt where they at least had food to eat. God heard these complaints and provided meat and bread that the Israelites were not familiar with, bearing the question "What is it?". During these times, we may feel the need to ask "what is it?" or maybe even "God, where are You?". Exodus 16 shows us that God not only provides grace for today, He is still with us tomorrow, and that in time of uncertainty, God invites us to draw closer to Him.

Ex. 14:19-31 One of the "highlights" of the Old Testament is the parting of the Red Sea in Exodus 14. At a moment where the Isrealites believe they are trapped, God come to their rescue by providing a pathway through the sea. In today's world, we probably feel like we are stuck between a rock and a hard place as well. Through this passage, we see that God is in the business of making a way in places where it seems like there is no way.

Ex. 12:1-14 A tweet is floating around that simply says, “I miss precedented times.” How often do you hear that these are unprecedented times? We call it wilderness. It is a regular occurrence in the lives of followers of Jesus. Wandering through the wilderness is a difficult journey at the best of times. Suburbs cultivate a public life where individuals pursue self-interest and self-promotion under the guise of community. We are next to each other but lonely. We pull cars into garages and live internal lives surrounded by others. How do we move from “me, me, me” to “we, we, we”? The disciples are called not to look up (to heaven) but to look out at others. Their mission would be to the whole world but would begin locally in Jerusalem. Our greatest mission is found locally.
