The Tim May Podcast is back with two very special guests to break down what exactly went wrong for the Buckeyes in their second straight rivalry loss to Michigan -- a setback that will keep Ohio State out of the Big Ten title game and potentially the College Football Playoff, as well.

Former Buckeyes players Marlon Kerner and Matt Wilhelm are joining Tim May to discuss it all, especially how the defense, which was supposed to be corrected in the offseason with this game in mind, completely collapsed in a brutal second-half blowout.

It’s all part of the massive post-rivalry edition of the Tim May Podcast. The discussion and the guests make this episode a must-listen from fans of both sides of the border in the aftermath of The Game.

Ohio State beat Indiana in a standard-procedure win against a Big Ten opponent. Easy, unmemorable win, right?

Turns out it was one of the most memorable moments of the season for the Buckeyes -- and especially for Ohio State senior wide receiver and captain Kamryn Babb.

After four ACL injuries and another knee injury, Babb is finally healthy. And he caught his first pass -- a touchdown grab -- in the win, a special moment for Babb, his family and the entire Ohio State football program. Babb's a two-time captain and was the recipient of the Block O jersey honor this fall.

To break down that moment, Tim is joined by the father of Kamryn Babb, Tyrone Babb, to give a unique perspective on the touchdown catch and Kamryn's entire journey to this moment for the Buckeyes. It's a can't-miss conversation.

Tim is also joined by former Ohio State linebacker and current Big Ten Network analyst Joshua Perry, who won a national title with the Buckeyes, to sift through the mess that is the Big Ten West division. They also take an early peek ahead at the upcoming rivalry game next week. #OhioStateFootball #OhioState #CFBNews

Tim May is back with a special edition of the Tim May Podcast to honor the life and career of former Ohio State defensive back William White, who died Thursday. White was just 56 years old.

White battled ALS for the last six years following his diagnosis in 2016.

White played safety for the Buckeyes from 1984-1988, where he became a fourth-round draft pick to the Detroit Lions in the 1988 NFL Draft. He played 11 seasons in the league, spending time with the Detroit Lions, Kansas City Chiefs and Atlanta Falcons. White played in Super Bowl XXXIII with the Falcons.

During his time with the Buckeyes, White was coached by a young assistant: Urban Meyer. That relationship blossomed into a friendship, and former Buckeyes head coach Urban Meyer is here with Tim May to share stories of William White through his own lens.

The draft talk was certainly entertaining. But so was the rest of the 30-minute conversation with the college football insider and draft analyst.

Can't-miss first-round picks Garrett Wilson and Chris Olave were the headliners of the Pro Day workout, and they certainly made a case to be the top two receivers taken in the draft next month.

Wilson joined the latest edition of the Tim May Podcast to break down his draft positioning, his workout and what the last few months have been like for the future pro. Wilson and his parents chatted with Tim to peel back the curtain on what Ohio State was like for Wilson and how he can excel at the next level in the NFL.

But as good as Wilson and Olave were during their workout, the quarterback throwing to them truly was the biggest star of the day. C.J. Stroud had NFL scouts buzzing with his dazzling throws. And Lettermen Row senior writer Austin Ward was there to see it all, so he had to join Tim to break down just how good Stroud was on the big stage in front of NFL head coaches and general managers -- a full year before his own Pro Day next year.

That is the key topic on this week's episode of the Tim May Podcast as Lettermen Row's Tim May is joined by Lettermen Row senior writer Austin Ward to break down the Buckeyes.

Ryan Day's offense has been humming now for the past three seasons under his direction as head coach, but the Buckeyes defense during those three campaigns has been up and down.

Ohio State had one of the best defensive units in the country in 2019, but that unit severely underwhelmed in 2020 and 2021. So, Day and the Buckeyes went back to the drawing board this offseason.

They have already made significant staffing changes and personnel decisions with the addition of transfer defensive back Tanner McCalister and running back-who-will-be-turned-linebacker DeaMonte Trayanum.

Will those changes and decisions lead to significant improvement for the defense? That is what Tim and Austin aim to project as we head toward winter workouts for Ohio State.

In addition to the defensive tackle, Tim is also joined on the show by former Buckeyes linebacker Matt Wilhelm.

Just a couple weeks removed from the Ohio State win over Utah, Ballard has been called on by Lettermen Row's Tim May as a special guest for this week's episode of the Tim May Podcast.

Ballard was not just a pivotal force for the Buckeyes first Rose Bowl win since 1997 during that 2010 victory. He eventually would go on to have a four-year career in the NFL, highlighted by winning a Super Bowl with the New York Giants in 2011.

Ballard is an expert voice and analyst who knows the ins and outs of the game in addition to background in the infrastructure of a college football program. So he gives some valuable insight in this week's podcast episode as Ohio State is now in the midst of a crucial offseason for Buckeyes coach Ryan Day and his program.

That offseason has already been a busy one with several new defensive coaching hires, including the hiring of Tim Walton as cornerbacks coach and Perry Eliano as safeties coach for Ohio State. Those two will play a big role in the attempt to turn around the Buckeyes defense following poor season-long performances in both 2020 and 2021.

Tim is also joined on the show by Lettermen Row's Austin Ward to discuss those new hires and to break down more Buckeyes news, analysis and offseason discussions in another jam-packed edition of the Tim May Podcast.

On the latest episode of the Tim May Podcast, Lettermen Row's Tim May and Lettermen Row senior writer Austin Ward take a dive into the latest Ohio State coaching moves and give a breakdown of the coaching carousel around the entire landscape of college football.

While head coach Ryan Day is firmly solidified as the Buckeyes leader, he has already shifted things around and made major infrastructure changes in the Woody Hayes Athletic Center.

First, Day landed Jim Knowles as defensive coordinator with a hefty contract worth a little less than $2 million per year. Knowles began his Ohio State coaching career officially last Sunday on January 2.

Matt Barnes then left his position with Ohio State to take over as Memphis' defensive coordinator. And the Buckeyes parted ways with offensive line coach Greg Studrawa last week and hired Justin Frye on Monday to the same position, bringing Frye over from his offensive line coach position on the west coast at UCLA.

That Frye hiring came after Ohio State receivers coach Brian Hartline was given a promotion and given status as the Buckeyes pass game coordinator.

How do those coaching moves affect Ohio State? What sort of messages is Day sending heading into his fourth season at the helm of the Buckeyes? And what other moves are still on the horizon during what has already been a wild offseason?

All of that Buckeyes news, analysis and offseason predictions are packed into this loaded edition of the Tim May Podcast, full of key storylines and talking points as Ohio State kicks off the most critical offseason yet under Day.

Ohio State may have righted the ship with its big win over Akron on Saturday night. It won't take long for the Buckeyes to see if the improvements are enough.

Big Ten play returns this weekend for the Buckeyes as they travel to the east coast to face Rutgers at 3:30 p.m. in New Jersey.

And Tim May returns for another edition of the Tim May Podcast to break down the Buckeyes. Tim is joined by Lettermen Row senior writer Austin Ward to analyze a Buckeyes defense centered around budding young talent that was flying around on Saturday night and making plays, some of which weren't made earlier in the season.

They go through a detailed look at the Buckeyes offense and how Kyle McCord may or may not have put himself into the middle of the Ohio State starting quarterback moving forward. And they also touch on the K'Vaughan Pope sideline outburst and subsequent dismissal from the football program.

Tim also made sure to get a defensive breakdown from national-title winning Ohio State linebacker Matt Wilhelm, who played for the Buckeyes from 1999-2002. Ohio State got back in the win column, but the Buckeyes win over Tulsa was not pretty.

Some defensive identity issues continue to be a problem, and the offense hasn't looked as sharp outside of a record-breaking performance from Buckeyes star running back TreVeyon Henderson.

Still, a win is a win, and Ohio State now holds a 2-1 record as it looks to continue improving in several areas with Akron on the horizon Saturday and Big Ten play set to resume next week.

To break all of it down – the Buckeyes first three games of the season and where they can go from here – Lettermen Row's Tim May welcomes in special guest Bryant Browning on this week's episode of the Tim May Podcast.

On this week's episode of the Tim May Podcast, Tim and Lettermen Row senior writer Austin Ward dive into the Buckeyes loss, and Tim is joined by Marlon Kerner, a first-time guest of the podcast.

Kerner was a three-year Ohio State defensive back who played in more than 30 games for the Buckeyes in the 1990s. He was drafted in the third round of the 1995 NFL draft by Buffalo and saw some time as a starting cornerback for the Bills.

Kerner is well-versed in his knowledge of the game on the field and knowing what makes players tick off of it. For this week's episode, Tim asked Kerner to do a detailed review of the Ohio State defense against Oregon.

The former Buckeye diagnoses the issues that need to be addressed, potential solutions for Ohio State moving forward and how the Buckeyes can get back on track with all of their preseason goals still ahead of them.

Do drastic schematic changes need to be made? Or is a personnel shift the most logical move two weeks into the season?

Find out those answers and plenty more on this episode of the Tim May Podcast as Tim, Austin and Marlon break it all down.

After back-to-back weeks of getting a behind-the-scenes look at the development of Ohio State five-star quarterbacks C.J. Stroud and Quinn Ewers, Lettermen Row’s Tim May returns with another deep dive this week.

On this week's edition of the Tim May Podcast, Tim shifts his focus to women making the climb up the athletic ranks, including Diana Sabau, the Big Ten Conference's deputy commissioner and chiefs sports officer.

Prior to her role in the Big Ten conference, Sabau was a staff member in the Ohio State athletic department for 27 years. That included serving as deputy athletic director from 2017-2021 as the sports department's second-highest ranked administrator behind Gene Smith. She then left her role at Ohio State to oversee all 28 of the Big Ten's sponsored sports as the league's first-ever chief sports officer.

Sabau joins Tim on the podcast to discuss her extensive role that she began in March 2021. She discusses how she hopes to help the Big Ten grow, her vision for the league's sports over the next several years and how her time at Ohio State helped prepare her.

Sabau is one of the most successful administrators in the history of Ohio State athletics. She helped oversee the Buckeyes growth in partnerships with companies such as Nike, Gatorade, CBS and the Big Ten Network.

Throughout those many years, Sabau learned several important lessons along the way, and she has become an inspiration to many women who are hoping to break through in the sports administration business and excel in their career.

What advice does Sabau have for those hoping to follow a similar career path as her? What goals does she have for the Big Ten Conference in the 2020s?

Last week, Lettermen Row's Tim May dove deep into the development of quarterback C.J. Stroud as a high school prospect and what makes Stroud the favorite to win the Ohio State quarterback job.

Now that Quinn Ewers has officially chosen to enroll at Ohio State in August, however, there's added intrigue in the Buckeyes quarterback room. On this week's edition of the Tim May Podcast, Tim shifted his focus to Ewers as he prepares to head to Columbus soon.

Joining Tim on the show is Bobby Stroupe, the Founder and President of ATHLETE Performance Enhancement Center (APEC). Over the past 20-plus years, the Texas-based trainer has worked with some of the best athletes in the the country. That includes recent clients such as NFL MVP and Super Bowl champion Patrick Mahomes, Tampa Bay Buccaneers All-Pro receiver Chris Godwin and Cleveland Browns offensive tackle Jedrick Wills. Stroupe's impressive résumé also includes training more than 30 MLB players, including six All-Stars, in addition to a pair of Heisman Trophy candidates.

Ewers is one of Stroupe's most recent clients. Stroupe has trained the five-star quarterback and helped develop him into the No. 1 overall prospect in the country and the highest-ranked commit in Buckeyes history. That includes a workout with Mahomes and Sam Ehlinger just two weeks before Ewers reclassified to the 2021 class.

Can Ewers become a legendary Ohio State quarterback? What traits make Ewers one of the most anticipated quarterback recruits to ever come to Columbus? And are the comparisons made between Ewers and Patrick Mahomes justified?

Ohio State is always a major player across the college football landscape. The Tim May Podcast is back for another huge episode to break down the next wave of conference realignment.

Tim welcomes Bill Bender, the national college football writer for The Sporting News, on the show for a conversation about Texas and Oklahoma making their intentions known they plan to leave the Big 12 Conference for the SEC and what the move could mean for Ohio State and the Big Ten.

Texas and Oklahoma made their first formal step of leaving the Big 12 on Monday when they informed the conference they don't plan on extending the grant of media rights past the 2024-2025 season. The addition of the two teams to the SEC makes the conference a mega-conference, a first of its kind.

How will Ohio State and the Big Ten make sure not to fall behind? Tim and Bill discuss a handful of options that the Big Ten could move. For starters, the move might be to stay local. Add more colleges in the Big Ten's footprint such as Pittsburgh, Kansas or Iowa State. The other decision league officials could make is to try and poach schools from the ACC or Pac-12. Becoming a coast-to-coast conference could be very alluring and would compete with the SEC if done right.

Of course there are other options. The Big Ten could choose to try and convince Notre Dame to join. Adding a school like Notre Dame with rich traditions etched into college football history is extremely valuable. Or the league could sit back and wait to see how everything shuffles out. So far, the Big Ten has not made any moves.

Can the Big Ten come a mega-conference? What is the best move for the conference to make? And how will it make an impact on Ohio State?
