We've circle around to the original Redwall once again, only this time it's a comic book. How good is it, well, we cover the first have with Pete, Jeremy, Drew and Tim in this first of two episodes.
It's summer time, and we're back in the kitchens. Here Pete, Drew and new guests SaltyRat and Tim talk about cooking in the middle ages, what they made and free tangents.

Intro/Outro Music is by: Cory Gray. Medieval Tension 30s. Song is licensed under an Attribution-NonCommercial 3.0 International License.
We start the last book before we wrap around to the original, and see just how much it forgets the mountain it's supposed to be cover. Just how much can teenagers annoy us? Here our best inimtations of cranky kids and overbearing fathers. Also annoying stoats who will never be Slipp Blaggut.
We're back at the Bellmaker and just how does our vermin power couple fare? And why is Silvamord trying on bathing suits? Why is Urgan wearing a hard hat? This is odd series of questions? Listen as we look at the final bit! Then..the mountain calls.
Hey, it's April - so we're looking at the fan material over two episodes! The first one here is our usual pattern of looking at fanfiction, the good, and some of the cringe worthy. Just what exactly do we find out there? Come listen and find out
Still April, and the forces of our sibling podcast in the Redwall Fandom, If You Give a Mouse a Dagger, came on to talk about both casts, the franchise and laugh about a few common jokes.
Just sit right back and you'll hear a tale about a fatefill trip! It started on this silly show aboard this skypin' ship. The Abbot was a crazy podcasting vet, his partner hating fanfics Five podcasters reviewed that book that day For about an hour and half...and hour and a half
Yep, we got ourselves a ship and Joseph and crew are out to find Southsward. Mariel, Dandin and Meldrum stage a prison break, Redwall goes on a search for missing Dibbuns and Urgan and Silvamond maybe have a productive long talk about their relationship.... nah..
Papa Abbot's out and the dibbuns are running wild! Actually, Jeremy takes charge with Matthias, Adam and Kayde as they start with the direct chronological sequel to Mariel of Redwall; The Bellmaker. So a year later, where is everyone? Will there be more bad guys to Gullwhack? How many stange marriages will we run into, including one of the few vermin couples? Come listen and find out.
We round out the last book of Mariel and see this massive coalition between Mariel, Rawnblade and TRAG...whatever that is going against Gabool. Also, someone's trying to invade Redwall. It happens. Come listen to Pete, Jeremy, KD, Adam, Tammo and Matthias all talk about the 4th book published. Specail correspondant appearance by Drew! .
So, oddly enough, we've got the shortest part of this book, and it shows. We have another attempt to take Redwall from Graypatch, Gabool going nuts, and Mariel and her party walking through a swamp. It's an odd piece of story, come listen to us discuss it. We have Pete, Jeremy, KD, Adam and new guest Tammo and a correspondant section from Matthias as we cover book 2.
In the new year, we start following one of the most iconic women in the series, with the debut of Mariel of Redwall. Compared to the last time we covered a book, this is a lot to go through; this episode is just over two hours. Come listen as Pete, Jeremy, Matthias720, Kayde, and new guest Adam.
We take a brief journey off the wall to the Abbey Kitchens with Kaydee, Matthias720, Jeremy and Peter as they discuss recipes that they made this time of year directly from, inspired by, or from similar literature to our favorite franchise. Warning; don't listen to this episode hungry.
We round out our take on Outcast of Redwall, and not gonna lie? I don't think any of us are gonna call us this one our favorites. So does Veil actually meet his dad? Does Swartt have all those years of Christmas presents ready? Will Sunflash know not to go charging off into battle recklessly? Come listen and find out.
Carla Mack, voice actress from Lost Legends of Redwall, comes on the show and we talk about the game, her acting career and some general good voice tips for aspiring actors!
We pick up after the interview; So just who is this outcast? Will he be subject to bias growing up in the Abbey? How does Swartt manage to keep order within the ranks with Vermin HR? Why does a hare think he's a squirrel? Come give a listen.
Back to the books we go, with the first part of Outcast of Redwall. This first part is thick, to say the least. We have a young Badger Lord, a hawk, a mole and hedgehog family, coupled with the not so subtle politics of vermin warlords. Rants about wasted characters come free!
We pick up after the interview; This is the shortest book we've covered and probably the most silly humor we've seen in the books so far, and that's saying something. So what does Martin and company do on the way back? Quite a bit, actually, at least gathering everybody for one big party back at Redwall. Oh, and there might be one minor vermin group along the way. Come listen and find out.
Chris from Soma Games comes on the show and we have a few questions about the newly released video game on Steam, PS4 and Xbox One - The Lost Legends of Redwall, The Scout. We hear from him about Sophia, the main character of the game, how they developed the story and characters, as well as a few creative choices behind the game. Come listen as we talk through about this first new redwall material in a long time!
MARTIN! We've got to go back! To the Arfship! Come listen as we see a little older, and a little wiser Martin (also brain-damaged) find out that, yes, his dad get up to a few things without him on the high seas. And pick on a lot of other vermin groups.
Back to the books at last! After a three episode romp through the cartoon our valiant recorders begin “Mossflower!” Special Guest Skar joins the gang as we finally solve a mystery...who is really in charge of Vermin HR.
We have the full crew back as we talk about the longest. single. section. in this book. Just how different will Salamandastron be in it's first publishing appearance compared to what we know? Will Tsarmina slowly start to lose it? Will Ashleg quit Vermin HR and go off to sell his wares on Vermin Etsy? Come listen and find out.
Back to the books at last! After a three episode romp through the cartoon our valiant recorders begin “Mossflower!” Special Guest Skar joins the gang as we finally solve a mystery...who is really in charge of Vermin HR.
Papa Abbot was out getting ...nutmeg, yeah, that's it. Leave it to the rest of the crew to finish out this first season of the Nelvana cartoon. Just how much more can they pad things out? Will Cluny try a plan that he already tried? Will Constance need some dental work after the final battle? Come listen and find out.
Our four brave Recorders continue through Season 1 of Redwall the Animated Series. Unfortunately they quickly realize that the Redwallers face their most dangerous foe of all time...FILLER. Between a circus, messing up the timeline (as well as more proportions) and a certain Knife Mouse, our heroes have their work cut out for them...
We needed something happier, so we took a look at the first few episodes of the first season of the animated series that looks at the first book. Just how well can Nelvana adapt Jacques work? Is Matthias assume he's the chosen one already? Is Cornflower's name by another name Nancy Drew? Just Pete, Jeremy and Kaydee this time, Drew was off on vacation. Come listen and find out just how much can we be happy or annoyed with this show.
In our longest episode yet, we read the final section of Martin the Warrior and deal with all the feels. Will Martin and Badrang have their confrontation? Will Grumm ever grow tired of hotroot soup? Will Clogg make up with his friend Badrang?
Pete was out searching for Mr. Squirrel this week so Jeremy, Drew and Kayde decided to plug our new Twitter and email. Aka: The Dibbuns are running Redwall.
Back to checking on Martin. Just how many times can he be caputred and knocked unconscious in book 2? Ummm... Quite a bit. Just how many times will Badrang and Clogg try to kill each other? Just how many keggers with the Gawtrybe host? Will the invite the Warden of Marshwood Hill?
So, Martin continues to... wait, this isn't Martin the Warrior. Nope, it's our first fanfiction special. Come listen to Jeremy bang his head against the desk- no, really - and we discuss both good and bad fanfictions that we read. Just how bad can it get?
Okay, it's the big one. We come to Martin the Warrior, where we find the mythical figure that HAUNTS YOUR NIGHTMARES. How much does Martin mess up? How many villain factions do we deal with? Will Clogg make up with his old friend Badrang? Will Martin stop being disturbingly violent around pygmy shrews? Come listen and find out.
We now head to Book 2 of "Legend of Luke"" since it's after Brocktree but before Martin the Warrior but Books 1 and 3 take place after Mossflower and...well no one said Chronological Order was going to be simple. Kayde joins us again as we discover that Luke is not only unlucky...but yet another really bad parent
The final book of Lord Brocktree is read and digested with just Kayde (Drew and Wilder were out for this one). We look at just how good of military planners Brocktree and Trunn are, when they're not high or drunk respectively. Also we don't like Fleetscut. A lot. He's s jerk. How big of one? Come give a listen!
And now we reach the middle book of Lord Brocktree that features an insult contest, eating contest and straight up boxing. Oh, and Stonepaw's last stand as the forces of Trunn invade the lower chambers of the mountain. Well, that got darker quickly. So just how does Dotti take to this King Bucko? Why doesn't Brocktree just take Bucko's crown? Does Trunn get into Stonepaw's stash? Come give a listen, as Drew and Kaydee return for this episode.
The kitchens are busy for the recorders as Pete, Jeremy and Drew all share their experiences making food straight from the Redwall kitchens. Are they good? Are they bad? Find out dear listeners.
In the beginning there was Stonepaw, and he said ‘I see future Badgers, this stuff is great!' Yep, our intrepid recorders have journeyed back to the very beginning (chronologically that is) with Book One of “Lord Brocktree. Featuring new guest Wylder!
We round out the final third of this book, watching the angry parents stick it to Slagar and our mysterious villain Malkariss and his fabulous right-hand Nadaz. I'm sure the angry parents and the red shirt shrews can defeat a massive cult army of rats. We also follow our B-plot where Sister May has a serious problem and Cornflower proves just as much a fighter as Matthias.
Back with the usual crew as well look at the 2nd of the three parts to this book; that introduces are primary B-plot for the story: General Ironbum- ... I mean, Ironbeak. Ambrose's insults are wearing off on me. Will Matthias and t he rest of the angry parents catch up to Slagar before Book 3? Will Sister May become the new drug dealer for Mossflower country? If you've never read it, come take a listen.
We jump to the direct sequel to Redwall, that picks up 8 seasons later with Matthias and his absolutely bratty son, and with a villian that we've totally never seen before. Nope. Slagar's completely new. Jeremy couldn't be with us for this episode, and we have returning regular guest Drew, and new guest Kayde. Would you like to guest? Catch up with us on the offical Redwall forums or on Reddit's /R/Eulalia
Well, we had to get at least one book out of the way. Welcome back to episode 3, where we look at the third and final "book" of Redwall, The Warrior. Matthias remembers that oh yeah, giant horde, and finally gets his sword. Will he get back to Redwall in Time? How many horde members will Cluny sacrifice? Has anyone not really read this book before? Find out! Intro/Outro Music is by: Cory Gray - Medieval Tension 30s. Song is licensed under an Attribution-NonCommercial 3.0 International License.
Well, it only took a month...or six weeks. Yeah, we know. Sorry. We're getting back into the swing of things, with the next episode. We don't have any guests for this one, so it's just Jeremy and Pete. We look at the longest segement of the book, Book 2, The Quest. Intro/Outro Music is by: Cory Gray - Medieval Tension 30s. Technical issues. We recorded episode 2, and our recording program glitched. We're going to try and rerecord this weekend. Sorry about that; have a minisode instead.
Our first true episode is out; as we look at the 1st third of the 1st published book, (9th Chronological), Redwall. This portion is named "The Wall" and we get our first introduction to many of the series archetypes, character archetypes and arguably the worst (or at least one of the worst) villians in the series history. People included in this episode are Pete, Jeremy and new guest Drew. Intro/Outro Music is by: Cory Gray - Medieval Tension 30s. The journey of a franchise begins with three recorders; sitting in a round-table (cybernetically speaking) as we decide how to progress with the podcast. We consider what segments to do, what book order to progress in, and just have a laugh or two about the franchise as a whole. Intro/Outro Music is by: Cory Gray - Medieval Tension 30s.
