There is something about things coming in threes. When it comes to the paranormal, it's no different. Often times when we have recurring sightings, multiple witnesses, angels, or synchronicities, it does FEEL like an accumulation of assurance is happening that what we are experiencing is really happening the way we've imagined. Tim digs through historical accounts to parse out new connections between the roots of those who have settled in Penn's woods and how those cultural frameworks give us a unique perspective on the Other. This is essential reading for anyone who is interested in folklore and the spookier side of the state.

This week we head to the center of the commonwealth, to a unique park nestled high in the Allegheny plateau. Like much of the area, its history, stories and folklore are as diverse as the ecosystems they are spawned from. In this case, the anaerobic bog, carnivorous plants and dark waters give us ghost lights, phantom hitchhikers and mysterious cryptids.
The reason we are focusing on this park presently, is because last week I, (Bond), was able to attend the Hemlocks to Hellbenders Outdoor Content Creator meetup, which is put on by our good friend Christian from Hemlocks to hellbenders and held at Black Moshannon state park. We were lucky to have the event sponsored by Happy Valley Adventure Bureau along with support from the PA DNCR, PA Game Commission, Centred Outdoors and more. If you don't already support these organizations, please check them out along with folks who supplied us with PA centric goodies like Blood Rose Gettysburg, Purple Lizard Maps, and Sister Sunflowers. I was truly humbled to be among such kind, knowledgeable and enthusiastic company. This week we are joined by our new friend Dana of The Black Cat Tarot studio in Harmony, PA. Tarot still has a bit of a stigma to it, and even if people are lukewarm to the idea of someone reading cards, a misunderstanding of the process is common. We've been wanting to do a tarot centric show for awhile now but needed someone who had the experience and knowledge to do the topic justice. Dana has been kind enough to lend her knowledge, insight and experience as a tarot reader to help give everyone an baseline understanding of what tarot is, and what its like reading for people. We really hope that if you're not quite ready to pick up a deck yourself after this episode, you'll have a better understanding of what goes into this art.

Now, we've talked before about the correlation, especially during flaps of high strangeness, between sightings of hairy, upright hominids and unusual lights in the sky. We are fully aware correlation doesn't mean causation.....but.... While researching this case, we also come across another state college bigfoot that continues to add to the body of evidence that there is something strange happening on a very small stretch of creek in Centre County. We often mention how important language is when speaking about the paranormal. The Ghost Furnace - Episode 142 "Ghost Bomber" In January 1952, a US Airforce B-25 bomber had some sort of issue and ended up in the Monongahela river during rush hour right outside Pittsburgh. Usually when we look at strange events, we are not sure IF a thing even happened, in this case, the plane certainly crashed and two people tragically lost their lives. What is in question, is what happened before the plane had its issues causing the crash and the mystery surrounding the supposed recovery of the aircraft. As is usually the situation, all of the possibilities have their issues and none of them totally make sense.
