An Earth Mother explores Shamanism and spirituality, and shares visions, dream interpretations, books and meditations. Trees, Birds, Lizards & Bees is the name of the podcast and the blog.
We have the privilege to befriend the Elements in our world. They are beings and can enjoy a relationship with us. It isn't our job to control them. It's our obligation to know them, respect them, and buid a respectful relationship with them. I recently had an interesting experience with Wind I want to share. "Autumn Leaves" by Peter Marin
The great Martin Luther King said,"Faith is taking the first step even when you can't see the whole staircase." This is excellent inspiration for everyone who wants to do something impactful even when we don't know the outcome.

Most of us can't help but think about making resolutions this time of year. Others resolve to not make resolutions. But after recalling a neighbor who was determined to try to make people feel seen every day, I think I have found a resolution we can all make and keep no matter how you feel about them. Trust me, you'll like this one!

I have been noticing an inability to take a shamanic journey lately. It's frustrating but has made me consider whether the lunar cycle has anything to do with my limitations.

During a guided Middle World journey to meet some ancestors on my property to learn how I can help the Earth, I was surprised to learn that they want me to start with a challenge I had put off. Here is my takeaway on the importance of the assignment.

A new friend, Zhanna Bright of Soul Congruency, reminded me of a beautiful quote by Ram Dass to help me see that we are helping everyone when we help even one person. We are all one so this makes sense. As a busy working mama, I was grateful to be reminded of this valuable truth. The quote is, "We are all just walking each other home," which means so much more than what I pulled from it in our conversation. The quote means many things but to understand that I need to focus on helping who I can, which is mostly the people who live under my roof at this time, is perfectly enough.

Today I cut back my milkweed plant almost to the ground to save monarch butterflies in my area. It was a hard decision but seemed the most responsible thing to do as we have been experiencing a lot of death among our monarch caterpillar and chrysalis population.
Nature is changing dramatically right now. Climate change is evident everywhere and it gets discouraging. But we aren't powerless. We can help. I want to focus on that in coming episodes of my podcast because climate change is the most important issue in the world right now. We have to work together where we can make a difference.

Reincarnation is a topic that makes some people uncomfortable because it appears to go against the teachings of their church or their understanding of the Bible. For many, reincarnation is, in fact, mentioned often in the Bible. For many, reincarnation makes perfect sense and is more in line with a loving God than having a single shot at life on Earth. In this episode, I explain why reincarnation is logical and I ask you to consider my points, if only for 13 minutes and 50 seconds– the length of this episode.

Meditation is an amazing tool for relaxing, health, and spiritual growth. For many, it's a daunting practice to learn and makes us feel like we are failing when we try it. After listening to Dan Harris' Ten Percent Happier, I learned how to meditate in a way that is easy to do and helps me experience what meditation is supposed to provide. In this 12.5 minute podcast, I share tips that have helped me to truly cherish my meditation time.

Have you ever sat with a tree and meditated with it for a few weeks? It is a very interesting experience! Here is what happened when I sat with a five-year old Willow that volunteered itself to grow in my yard.
Braiding Sweetgrass is a beautifully written book about the sacred relationships with plants, animals, and the planet from the perspective of an enrolled member of the Citizen Potawatomi Nation and an Environmental Biologist. Robin Wall Kimmerer is the author and she helps you to see living beings in a way you might never have seen them before.

Shamanic journeying is a worthwhile and special practice. From a beginner's perspective, here is how I see and explain shamanic journeying. What are the different worlds? Are journeys dangerous? How do you get started and what's the point? I answer these questions in this episode.
A friend posted the details of a nightmare she had just had during a nap. She shared that the dream had really scared her, and her friends weighed in that it was a sign of something ominous. I privately messaged her and offered to help her interpret it. In this podcast, I'll tell you how I analyzed it, how it reassured her, and what she took away from the nightmare.
I dreamed about an unusual and beautiful cat named Violet. In this 9.5-minute episode, I'll tell you about the dream and how I analyzed it.

When a shaman friend learned that I had killed a rat in my garage, she commented that "it wasn't very Buddhist of me." My first thought was to be defensive but it caused me to rethink how to handle a rat that was partying nightly in my garage. This definitely opened up a new world for me and the rat.

When you look at events around the world, you see unrest, chaos, fear, and problems. Maybe you see those things really close to home. Fortunately, being spiritual allows us to look beyond what we experience with our five senses. Although we might feel fear or frustration, we have the ability to go within. We have a different perspective on what we see outside through meditation, spiritual reading and research, and communion with like-minded souls. Approaching life through spiritual senses is a blessing for us. We are the lucky ones. And there is always room for more.
Thank you to Peter Marin for your use of "Autumn Leaves."
If all you ever knew in your life was suddenly changing in a way you had never before experienced, you might be terrified. You might be experiencing fears and concerns right now because we are seeing changes in many facets of our lives. But a dream I recently had was reassuring to me that life is moving in an overall good direction. We don't need to fear the changes we see. A spiritual Spring appears to be on our horizon.

Exploring a new spiritual practice is really exciting. We want to go in all the way when we find something new because we're trying to grow and wake up so why wouldn't we give it our all? Is it okay to dip our toes in and work our way up to total mind and body immersion as our comfort allows? Here is my brief two cents.

Byron Metcalf "Shamanic Journey"
Easter, Spring, Passover is here. The northern hemisphere is waking up, being born or reborn, and starting over. It's a beautiful time of year.
With the release of Seaspiracy, many are questioning their choice to eat fish, and fishing practices in general. What does it mean to be conscious of our food choices and our purchases? We have an obligation to be aware of our footprint on the Earth and the beings that live here. We have the opportunity to be reborn in our thoughts and actions. We have the power.
Jade plants cover the banks in the front and back of my house. The colors vary by location and they have unequal amounts of water and sunlight and it shows. Interestingly, they all have survived many years. As I wandered the back bank recently, it occurred to me that Jade Plant has many lessons to share with us.

My name is Kim Shea, and I'm an Earth mother exploring Shamanism and spirituality. I have always been spiritual and have been working on my dream interpretation skills for a few years. But recently I learned more about Shamanism from a friend. Slowly, my conversations turned to personal exploration and I am avidly learning about it with a focus on plants, animals and the Earth.
