Two tales and two wells. The first well provides refreshment for a thirsty mother and son: Hagar and Ishmael. The second well belonged to Abraham. It was taken from him then restored back. Rest is found only in the Lord. It’s promised to all who believe. We enter in by faith. Doubt is the ultimate robber of rest. This message encourages us to keep the faith so we can remain in His rest.
Drawing near to The Lord brings us to a place of rest. Distancing ourselves results in restlessness and, ultimately, rebellion. The heart grows harder. The neck gets stiffer. A deaf ear is turned to His voice. Hebrews 3 encourages us to turn our hearts toward the Lord that we might hear from Him and find perfect rest in Him.

While Jesus was no angel, for a brief period in history He was made lower than angels. He become like us to die for us. Hebrews states, “God became flesh that He might taste death for all mankind.
What makes Jesus superior to angels? This was a question that came up in the early church. The author of Hebrews makes the case that Jesus is worthy of the worship and that angels are not, because Jesus is God.
We live in a culture fascinated with superheroes. The Book of Hebrews points to "The Greatest." His name is Jesus. This marks the beginning of our series, "Super Savior."
