In the latest episode of “Chats That Matter,” Dayton Housing Authority Executive Director Gordon Henry and UniCity Policy and Program Manager Katie Meyer discuss partnering to bring public Wi-Fi to the riverside city of Dayton, Kentucky. The initiative provides complimentary high-speed internet to more than 140 DHA residents as well as offering access to the nearby community. Cincinnati Bell’s UniCity team continues to work with organizations across Greater Cincinnati to create more digital equity and increase access to education, healthcare, and employment opportunities.

The Greater Cincinnati non-profit social service agency provides assistance to kids through the age of 24, offering two homeless shelters for minors in addition to mental health services, residential treatment, and foster care and adoption. Lighthouse is known for its work with LGBTQ+ youth and was one of the first organizations supported by Cincinnati Bell’s Pride Employee Resource Group. On the morning of Friday, March 13th, a company-wide e-mail announced a startling new reality: In response to the Coronavirus outbreak, Cincinnati Bell was moving to work-from-home status - effective immediately. Some of us remained on the frontlines – retail store staff, NOC engineers, call center workers, field techs – there to support customers who now depended on connectivity more than ever. But many of us gathered up our monitors, said “see you soon” to our cube mates, and headed home, where we’ve remained. As we re-open our offices for those who wish to return, Senior Communications & Media Relations Manager Josh Pichler spoke to CEO Leigh Fox about leading us through a pandemic and what happens next.

Jeff Lackey started his first business with $50,000 in seed money and the immense pressure of a mortgage, two car payments, and a pair of kids in diapers. Four years later, he sold the fledgling company to Cincinnati Bell, who re-christened the enterprise Cincinnati Bell Technology Solutions.
