How to stay motivated and create long lasting momentum Quick tips to make sure you keep going!!
Show Notes Have you ever lost your way while working towards a goal?
When working towards a goal, it's not enough to simply ‘want it.’ You have to keep yourself constantly motivated to stay focused. 1. Keep the Momentum Rolling An object at rest stays at rest. It's easy to give up a goal when you take too long of a break from it. Take daily action towards your goal and keep the momentum going.
An object in movement stays in movement, don't stop! Keep it going! #tsbpodcastClick To Tweet
2. Coerce Confidence When setting a big goal, the fear of failure can contaminate the mind. Reflect on past effort, success and achievement to facilitate the healthy growth of confidence. If necessary, write down a list of positives to keep your brain centred on the good rather than bad.
3. Consider the Evidence It’s a lot easier to stay motivated when you can see just how much progress you’ve made. Keep track of your accomplishments so that any time you feel like giving up, you can look back on a body of work that says “keep going!”
4. Make It Positive Positive goals are better than negative ones, plain and simple. Turn that frown upside down and find the good in every journey.
5. Getting Around the Obstacles There are always going to be obstacles on the journey, with some looming larger than others. Remember that an obstacle is nothing more than a temporary challenge. When you hit a roadblock, review roadmap you’ve created for reaching your goal and find an alternate route.
6. Make the Most of Mistakes When you make a mistake don't beat yourself up about it. Instead, look at the situation objectively. Why did the mistake happen? Where did it come from? Analyse it and learn for the future.
7. Ask for Help Plenty of people try to do everything themselves rather than ask for help. It's incredibly hard to achieve a goal without any support whatsoever. Identify some people early on who can help you during a time of need. Tools Mentioned

How to start 2015 with the right mindset to succeed Six reasons why setting up goals How to make sure you will achieve those goals
Let's get started...
It is very easy for anyone to make a New Year's Resolution and it is a sad fact that many people make them knowing full well that they won't achieve them. For these people it has almost become a habit to make unattainable or unmotivated resolutions. Have you been guilty of this? This is your year to change all of that and make it a year where you will Succeed!
[Tweet "The book is called Opportunity and its first chapter is New Year's Day. - E Pierce"] Goal setting is crucial for getting what you want out of life. Without goals, it’s nearly impossible to reach any level of measurable personal or professional success. Having said that, here are six reasons goal setting is key... Clarity Goal-setting provides clarity of vision. Explicitly stating goals is the best way to allow body and mind to work in unison towards accomplishment. Responsibility Goal setting allows us to be responsible for our own actions.
Are you doing everything possible to accomplish your stated objectives?—Think long and hard about it.
You are responsible for your daily attitude and action. Goal setting makes that abundantly clear. Action Speaking of action, goal setting inspires us to create concrete action plans for life.
Want to own a work for yourself in June 2015? Plan on doubling your business’ revenue in the next 12 months?
Whatever your goal, stating it plainly and simply will inspire the creation of an action plan to see it through.
Take small steps forward every day and, eventually, you will find your target. Motivation A clearly defined goal is the only way to keep yourself focused when things go awry. When obstacles emerge, specific objectives can give us the courage and strength to keep moving forward when we might otherwise quit. Focus It is almost impossible to find success without maintain focus. Identifying and keeping a goal is a tremendous way to stay on-task and avoid distraction. If you set clear goals, you will know exactly where your energy will need to go on a daily basis. One Goal at a Time Goal setting is important but there is a right and wrong way to do it. At the start of any attempt, set smaller goals and take them down one at a time. As you build momentum, increase the size and scope of those goals and before you know it you will have travelled further than you could have possibly imagined.
This is a series of articles that will guide you through the process of doing this correctly, this is just an overview of WHY doing it. Now, the big question… How? The answer to this questions in our next episode.

Christmas message and goal setting series announcement Early Bird announcement for products in January 2015 Steps to identify how to create value from your products Steps to create value and start a differentiation point that is not price
Let's get started...
Having a young daughter made me realize I need to explain things a lot better and in a way that makes sense to everybody.
"Value" is something I often mention to my students, but it hit me the other day that not many people can really clearly define the word... Including me.
With that in mind, I decided to go on a quest to explain this word as best as I could.
Here is the result...
When it comes to your business, the thing that will really make the difference is the value you offer #tsb Click To Tweet
I opened a dictionary and searched for "Value". According to the Oxford Dictionary, "Value" is the “regard that something is held to deserve”.
It is also known as the “importance, worth, or usefulness of something”.
Value could also be the “material or monetary worth of something.”
Or, it could also be the “worth of something compared to the price paid or asked for it.” When you tried to look at the Merriam-Webster Dictionary, the meaning of the word value is almost the same. Since we are talking about business, we need to keep in mind that the value you offer customers is what makes them decide to buy your products or services.
So... How Value Perceived by Clients?
You may not know it, but the success of a particular product largely depends on how the customers look at the value of the product. Customers buy when the product is capable of meeting their needs. Not all customers can be swayed by advertisements. Good advertisements can intensify how customers look at a product, but it is not the sole factor. They accept the messages sent by the advertisements and look if what the advertisement says is related to the product that they are looking for. Clients or customers also know how to determine if the benefits outweigh the costs.
What can you do to determine your value?
It is important to know what the customers want and do not want. This is companies conduct surveys: to assess the value of their product. Knowing what the customers want versus don't want makes it easier to create powerful messages through advertising to catch their attention. Make a clear point of difference that is not low price. This strategy makes the customers think that they can afford more of this product compared to another product that offers the same thing but with a more costly price. Though, this makes the whole process more difficult as the slightest difference could take you out of the market. Try to improve the quality of their product for the same price. This includes features, services, and many others. Using the right media outlet to deliver your messages is also important. This is the only way to assure your message is delivered to the right target market. The main challenge for companies is having a product or a brand that does not stand out. If you are not sure what the value of your product is, you need to work extra hard to clearly define what it is.
How to Create Value?
There are products that need to improve on their value perception, but there are products that need to create new value. What does this mean? It means that your current product..as it exists...has no value. Aside from creating new value for your product, you can also add value to it. You may choose to keep the price but add more quality to your product, or lower the price but keep the same quality.
Keep in mind that customers always look at the price, but pay more attention to the value.
Solve the right problem, at the right time, at the right price and you are in business for the long run! Have you taken a look at your products lately?

Show Notes:
If there’s something we all want it’s success.
Everyone wants to succeed in the specific field they have chosen. All entrepreneurs love their field, but love isn’t enough. There are certain characteristics you must embody and certain signs you must watch for in order to truly be successful.
As such, I took a step back to examine what I and other successful people have in common.
Here are 7 key traits of successful people...
1. Leadership Successful people can demonstrate leadership.
If you wanted to succeed and have your employees, contractors and partners follow you with dedication, you need to be a strong role model.
A leader who has earned the trust of everyone, who encourages others to follow his lead, and knows every aspect of his business will find success.
2. Enthusiasm Enthusiasm is almost as important as leadership. It’s what sparks the fire.
Passion keeps you and your business moving forward.
A good leader must be passionate about his work. He must influence his employees to share in his passion...a passion to stay late and do the dirty work necessary to find success.
3. Confidence Passion for what you do is great, but without the confidence to back it up, passion won’t get you very far.
Successful men and women have confidence in themselves and they inspire confidence in others. That confidence is key earning the trust and best efforts of your employees.
For example, successful negotiations, the kind that help the growth of you and your company, are based on confidence and passion. When you own these two keys success will follow.
4. Resilience All businesses encounter difficulties.
No business can forever avoid turmoil.
When times are tough successful people show unwavering faith. A good, successful leader must carry himself in a calm, focused manner, filling his team faith that the storm will pass.
5. Analytic Successful people can look at the numbers and interpret them. Have a review system, stay ahead of the game and keep your eyes on the prize.
As Gary Vaynerchuck says, the only reason why he is more successful than his peers is because he can foresee what is going to happen based on the numbers and make decisions accordingly.
A successful leader can convince their employees to keep their eyes on the prize. Keep the team informed of your goals and be able to lay out measurable, step-by-step plans to reach them.
Success is unachievable without proper measurement. Be able to numerically follow the ups and downs of your business.
6. Creative You must keep a creative mind to think of ways to improve your business, that includes expansion and enhancement. You must also know when a certain strategy or idea is no longer working or relevant. Regular evaluation paired with creative thinking will help your business maximize its success.
7. Committed This is our last key. Commit yourself to excellence in everything you do.
Stick to your standards without compromise.
This is an fundamental characteristic of any successful person.
A who settles for second-best will eventually form a habit for doing so. As the head of the business you must be able to inspire your team to commit to excellence in all areas, including the small details.
Set the bar for personal excellence as high as you can. Commit to it and your team will follow.
So, there you have it, those are the 7 keys to being successful
In looking at these character traits, you may begin to doubt your ability for success. To think: I’m not that kind of person.
But, keep in mind these key qualities can be developed.
Not every successful person is a born with the right tools from day one.
Whether you’re a born leader,

The idea of starting a business and becoming your own boss...of being able to take a holiday or pay raise on-demand...doesn't have to be a dream.
In this post we'll talk about how to making this dream a reality and why now is the right time to get started.
Let’s start with the ground-floor needs for employment: food and shelter.
Most careers are founded in meeting these material needs rather than enjoying the job itself.
Why not found the career the enjoyment of the job and use the job to address the material needs?
It's possible by just tapping into the resources available inside your own home and an internet connection.
Starting your own online business is the first step on the path towards self-fulfillment and self-preservation.
Consider yourself lucky...This is the start of an eye-opening series of articles, podcasts and videos designed to demonstrate the essential elements of starting and building an online business you can be proud of.
Human history and online businesses Let’s be honest with ourselves, unless you're a Google or Amazon, most people don't consider online ventures to be "real" businesses.
Why? Ignorance for one, fear of technology for another.
Not everyone has accepted or adapted to to the ascension of the digital revolution.
This resistance is not unlike that which faced the Agricultural or Industrial Revolutions before.
Let’s look at some statistics...
Home and online business statistics In America, a new home-based business is started every 12 seconds in addition to the roughly 38 million home-based business already in existence.
Out of these home-based businesses, 70% succeed within the first 3 years, accounting for 30% of all American business.
About half of the home-based businesses start with a capital investment of less than $5,000, yet they can have upsides of $100,000, $500,000 or more per year. All in all, these American companies make $427 billion per year.
For this reason, 70% of Americans prefer to be self-employed than to have a regular job. Not only is the financial incentive there, but the the freedom to work on personal terms with scheduling flexibility is hugely attractive. (Source: Business for Home)

Now, let's look at the statistics in Australia.
The estimated number of “digital workers” or people who use the internet to work away from the office is 5.6 million.
Of those digital workers, roughly 73% use a personal laptop or smartphone to work. (Source: SMH)
That's a lot of people making the transition to an online working environment.
Why an online business? Unlike an upstart brick and mortar business, online companies have unrivaled access to potential customers. Literally millions of persons at any given time are probably searching about a topic related in some way to your business.
It's also important to note that online businesses:
Operate 24 Hrs 7 days a week Have very low overhead Maintain lower barriers of entry Largely consist of automated processes
How to get started with your online business
Plan the operation
Make sure that when you begin the planning process, the first thing you should do is reflect on your knowledge, experience, talent and skill-sets because these things will form the core of your product offering.
Don’t try and reinvent the wheel. Take advantage of what you already have to get the business off on the right foot.
Create the online business
Start working towards the creation of a product, message and website.
Transmit a message that aligns with your goals and target audience. Clearly profile potential customers and start building a customer list (commonly called a mailing list) to propagate your business.
Get the website online quickly and effectively. Wasting time or cutting corners in this area can spell disaster for any business, particularly an online one.
