Luxembourg Airport. Late in the evening. A veiled 16-year-old Iranian girl is frightened to take her red suitcase on the automatic carpet. She keeps pushing back the moment to go through the arrival gate and seems more and more terrified.
Cyrus Neshvad is a Luxembourg director of Iranian origin. He has directed several short films including THE ORCHID, ANTOINE, SON and PORTRAITIST which have all been produced by CYNEFILMS. Collectively these films have officially been selected in over 300 festivals, over 30 of them Oscar-qualifying. PORTRAITIST qualified for the Oscars in 2020 and won 55 awards including the Letzebuerger Filmpraïs 2021 in Luxembourg. Currently, Cyrus Neshvad is developing his first feature film "LE REFUGE / THE SHELTER" supported by the Film Fund Luxembourg.

Writer Guillaume Levil has written and directed several films including THE TROUSER ISSUE which was broadcasted on TV, he has also directed ARTHUR RAMBO and wrote PORTRAITIST which was also the winner of The Lëtzebuerger Filmprais.
The beautiful composition which sets the sombre tone of the film was created by Kyan Bayani who was the composer of two-time Oscar-nominated COLLECTIVE directed by Alexander Nanau and BAD BANKS directed by Christian Schwochow and Christian Zübert on Netflix.
This heart-breaking short film has been nominated for the 95th Academy® Awards.

Adam Mervis wrote "National Champions" as a stage play and adapted it into a screenplay in 2018. The story follows a D1 quarterback who boycotts the national championship due to unfair labor practices. As an athlete performing at the top of his game he is demanding that people realize the unfairness in the NCAA. How much money is surrounding these players who are the ones putting their futures on the line every game with no compensation.
The cast is incredible, the story makes you think, the shots fantastic, it is a film you should check out as a football fan or not because it is a story about fairness and equality.

Nikki talks with filmmaker Eric Beach about the documentary "Still Here" tells the story of Ben Manthe a veteran who nearly died in Afghanistan and has found a new purpose through wrestling.
Ben (the subject of this documentary) has decided it's time for him to tell his story and make peace with his past. It's time for him to do what he can to save his brothers and sisters who are committing suicide at an alarming rate. He has personally lost 14 of the men he served with since returning home.
While in Afghanistan, Ben was shot in the face. Had the bullet not entered his jaw backwards, Ben would have died instantly. But he is with us today. Wrestling has been a constant in his life, and after battling his own addiction, he found his way back into the ring starting his own promotion called "Frontline Pro Wrestling."
Frontline's goal is to raise funds for organizations and causes close to his heart. It also serves as his new mission. This film will focus on the aftermath of Ben's injury and how getting shot was the easy part. The recovery was the hard part. It will also highlight the strong bonds and the diverse characters that make up independent wrestling. They have a story to tell as well.
This project seeks to make a difference by empowering a veteran who is ready to use his voice, in hopes he can save a life. It also seeks to pull back the curtain and give civilians a glimpse into the mind of our veterans as well as show the emotional side, the familial and strong bonds formed by the wrestlers who put their lives in each others hands every match.

He was sent to remand where he was beaten, electrocuted and water tortured for the next three days. He maintained his innocence and refused to cop a plea even though it meant less jail time. Once confirmed that Erik did this unknowingly he was offered a deal for a guilty plea. When Erik was asked the question: ' whats worth more to you, your pride or your freedom' Erik choose pride.

Erik endured 3 years in Adiala Central Jail in Rawalpindi, one of the most dangerous prisons in the world, where he was forced to fight every day to survive. Due to a stroke of luck through his relationship with Casting Director, Joey Paul Jensen and the help of former New Mexico Governor Bill Richardson, Erik was released in December of 2004.
Today, Erik is a working actor, stunt coordinator and professional poker player which he learned to play while in prison from the 1986 Pan Am hijackers. This film features Hollywood actors Quinton Aaron (The Blindside), Meagan Good (Think Like A Man), and former Major League Baseball player, Jose Canseco.

Erik Audé is an American actor, stunt coordinator and professional poker player. He was born in Los Angeles, Ca and raised in the Antelope Val- ley, Erik was a high school football player setting a California State Record for the most tackles by a defensive end at 147. At the age of 18 Erik moved to Hollywood and started acting in shows such as “The Bold and the Beautiful”, “Cousin Skeeter” & “7th Heaven” he also appeared in the film “Dude! Where’s My Car?” In 2001 Erik was sent to death row in Pakistan for a crime he didn’t commit. He was proven innocent and released in December 2004. When he returned he picked up right where he left off and guest starred on shows such as “Sons of Anarchy”, “Shameless” & “NCIS” he also had a role in the Bradley Cooper film “American Sniper”. Erik recently guest starred on the hit show “This is Us”. Erik also works on several films as a stunt coordinator and stunt- man, he worked on Christopher Nolan’s “Dunkirk” and is reoccurring and stunt doubling on the new Kurt Sutter show “The Mayans” that will be out this Fall. Erik is also a professional poker player and hosts many charity poker tournaments throughout the year.

Synopsis:

I'm going to be honest I wasn't sure how I was going to like the show GLOW on Netflix because I never was a big wrestling fan. When we were kids my brother watched a little and there was the Hulk Hogan cartoon we watched on Saturday mornings in the 80s. GLOW is about so much more than wrestling and as an adult I can really appreciate that.

examines the year 1967, the year that would arguably be the most crucial in the band’s career, a year in which they stopped being the world’s number one touring band and instead became the world’s most innovative recording artists, pushing the boundaries of what could be achieved in the studio. Unable to hear themselves perform and mired by controversy, the band decided to stop touring in August 1966. What followed was a period of extreme creativity and rebirth during which they embraced Swinging London, the ‘avant-garde’, LSD and the advent of the Summer Of Love. The result was the creation of their new alter ego, Sgt. Pepper, with the desire to create a pop music first, the concept album.
A devoted fan since the age of nine, the film’s director

has set out to explore this period by filming interviews with former employees, fellow musicians, family member and journalists, all of whom were there at the time. These stories are in turn supported by a vast array of impressive archival footage, much of it not seen since first transmission. The result is a detailed examination of why the band stopped touring, how the album was conceived and its recording at EMI's Abbey Road Studios, its lyrics, the creation of its sleeve and finally its release. All this is set against a background of the band’s changing relationship with their manager, Brian Epstein and the tragedy of his death, the creation of Apple and the powerful influence of the Maharishi Mahesh Yogi.
