Hi everyone! So this week I have a really good and informative podcast! I'll be talking with Dr. Dennis Wormald who has a PhD in dog behavior and anxiety, and has written a book titled A Dedication To Difficult Dogs. So we'll be discussing his book and covering a bit of the great information that is in his book about dog anxiety and behavior. So if you've ever wondered why your dog doesn't really settle even when it's in its own home, maybe doesn't sleep a lot, pants a lot even though the temperature is comfortable, or barks a lot at other dogs or people, it could be that your dog has anxiety and isn't just acting out. I have read Dennis' book which follows two fictional characters that own two different breeds of dogs and how they choose to address the behavior issues they are having. After each chapter Dennis goes more in depth into both dogs behaviors and how their owners choose to handle it to give us a little more insight into what is going on with them. So my next podcast is a little more serious, we're going to be talking with Dr. Bernard Mangone about a veterinarian's role in animal cruelty cases. Dr. Mangone is a veterinarian with Palm Glen Animal Hospital and has been involved in animal cruelty cases during his career. He's going to give us more information about what veterinarian's do during these investigations, when they're expected to report animal neglect/cruelty, and how important their testimony is in these cases. This is good information for those in the law enforcement field to know and is also good information for the public to understand just how veterinarians help these cases.

Hello everyone! Well it's that time again and I have a really cool podcast this Thursday! I have Chelsea Carter, a Marine Biologist, from Clearwater Marine Aquarium on the show with me. She's going to be giving us all sorts of information on what the aquarium does, what some of the tools of the trade are, and what kind of research they're involved in. So I have a local rescuer coming on with me this coming Thursday. I'll be speaking with Nancy Young-Wright, founder of Rescue Me Tucson. Hey everyone, I have a really good podcast tonight! I have Kelly Diehl from the Morris Animal Foundation talking with me! She's going to fill us in on all of the great things Morris Animal Foundation does to help contribute to research to help our dogs, cats, equines, and wildlife be healthy and stay healthy, from giving grants to their own research. They have also been doing a Golden Retriever Lifetime Study which will hopefully give them lots of good data to help with that breed as well as other breeds that have similar health issues. I hope you all enjoy all of the great information Kelly has to share with us!

I am working on for some shows for December but if it doesn't work out I may be on Hiatus until after the New Year.

Feral Cat TNR - How Does It Work? I hope to answer that and other questions with my guest Alecs with Tucson Feral Trap Neuter Return - TNR Advocates. We'll discuss what TNR is, how it works, and the benefits of having a program like this in your community. I also want to put out there that my guest Alecs let me know that they prefer to call the cats community cats not feral cats. The term feral is a dispositon describing their nature, which could mean they were born wild and have never had real human contact. TNR can be done on any outdoor living cat, not just feral cats.

I am talking with Professor Jessica Rubin from UConn School of Law to talk about Desmond's Law, which will allow law students or pro bono attorneys, at the judges discretion, to advocate for the animal in an animal cruelty case in the interest of justice. We will talk about how she helped get the law enacted with her state senator, the difficulties they faced in getting it enacted, and how it works.
We'll be talking with my guest Leslie Bryant about service animals, therapy dogs, and emotional support animals. We'll also cover some of the laws that cover service dogs, what goes in to training them, and why faking a service animal is hurting the real ones.
