Jesus said to 7 churches in the book of revealtion "overcome" and to everyone of them He said "He who has ear let Him hear what the Spirit says"....He insisted even in the gospels that "take heed how you hear" not "take heed how you speak" or "how you argue"... What brings us to overcoming is "Hearing the Spirit"... but many times when we read the Scriptures we don't "hear" we "argue".

Sometimes, when we read the old testament we feel like God is kind of different than the God we know in Jesus, why?
Is it because we had the old testament without the blood of Jesus to intercede for humanity? No! definitely not. Because the change of the Covenant was not for God to change His mind toward humanity. The new covenant changes man's mind toward God.
God has always been the same yesterday, today and tomorrow!
He does not change!
But there are a few reasons that when "WE" read the old testament, we see a different God!

Our past ends in Christ and we become a new creation! But what kind of "past" ends? The life Adam, the old carnal man lived will vanish on the cross! But we can't say God wasn't with us and wasn't at work! If you find what God was doing in your past, you redeem your past...your past becomes a light and not a darkness!
