On March 14, the Boundary County School District is requesting a renewal of the existing levy of $2.4 million annually for two years and will be used to maintain the current level of education and services for students such as extra/co-curricular activities, travel, maintenance, security, and staff pay. The levy rate is $105 per $100,000 of assessed property values after the $150,000 Homeowner Exemption is added.

He visited some memorable places and stumbled across plenty of people who left an impact on him and rejuvenated his American spirit. He shares those experiences on the podcast and details how the 5,000 mile trip didn't quite go as planned. The pandemic, forest fires and hurricanes were all obstacles he encountered along the way, but he never gave up mainly due to two reasons — the youth services he was riding for and the kind, caring people he met on the ride. Through his ride, Mel raised about $14,000 for youth programs in the community. At the end, Mel also discusses the return of the CHAFE 150 this year after the event was canceled in 2020 due to the pandemic.
