Their guest star will be Dr. David Spong who retired in 2004 after a 43 year career in the aerospace industry. During his career, he grew from an individual contributor in the engineering and technical disciplines to becoming Vice President and General Manager of Boeing airlift and tanker programs. In 1998, he led this $3 billion dollar program to winning the highest honor for quality performance given in the United States, the Malcom Baldrige National Quality Award for manufacturing. David was promoted to President of Boeing aerospace support in 2000. In 2003, he was awarded the Malcom Baldrige National Quality Award for service. In 2017, David became the first recipient of the Lifetime Achievement Award from the Baldrige Foundation.

His former experiences include President/CEO of Sab Sabreliner Corporation and multiple senior executive positions with The Boeing Company: Vice President/GM of Harrier programs and Vice President/GM of F/A 18 programs, including the leadership responsibility for F/A-18 E/F development and test for which the team was awarded the prestigious Collier trophy in 1999. For four years he was also the president of Boeing Support Systems which was a $7 billion business.
