In this episode, my conversation partner is Charlene Ridley. I could tell you what we talked about but what if we let something else summarize our conversation?

I asked ChatGPT to summarize our conversation and here's what it came up with (the first few bullet points are especially true):

  • Charlene Ridley is described as an encourager and a cheerleader who loves love.
  • Her positive qualities have been a part of her throughout her life, stemming from a difficult home life as a child.
  • Charlene is known for bringing light to spaces and creating safe environments for people.
  • Her personality and spirit have been compared to sunshine and love.
  • The speaker is discussing the importance of smiling and allowing others to smile without judgment.
  • They mention a girl who stopped smiling because someone told her she smiled too loudly, and how it took her three years to start smiling again.
  • The speaker believes that adults have a responsibility to create a safe space for children to express themselves, even through something as simple as a smile.
  • They question why people feel suspicious of or uncomfortable with smiling.
  • The speaker discusses intentional goal-setting as a way to hold space for oneself and encourage positive energy.
  • They also mention talking to oneself to set intentions for the day and modeling this behavior for their child.
  • The speaker has a vision which comprises of three parts: purpose, mission and values.
  • Purpose is viewed as the largest 'why', mission is the 'what' that will contribute to the purpose, while values are the 'how' to live that will enable the realization of the mission.
  • The speaker's purpose is 'Moksha', meaning freedom or liberation for all, in which he wants people to be free to be themselves and embody love beyond their physical and mental dimensions.
  • The mission is to inspire others to rediscover balance, in which the speaker wants to inspire others to find the center point of balance, which is groundedness within.
  • The speaker has some values that he lives by, such as truth, love, joy, freedom, balance, and growth.
  • The speaker believes that people are searching for freedom in many ways but they don't even realize that it is freedom that they really want. People seek money because they believe it will increase their options and give them freedom, but if they discover the freedom that they already have, they don't need to have all the money to feel free.
  • It's important to simplify or expand on messages to ensure they are understood.
  • Communication is like a game of telephone, and it's easy for messages to get distorted over time.
  • Crafting messages requires putting ego aside and thinking about the impact on others.
  • Legacy was discussed in a podcast called 150 airplane, where the host spoke about thinking in longer time periods.
  • The purpose we have should fit into a larger purpose that benefits humanity.
  • The host wants to be someone who thinks in longer time horizons to have a larger impact.

Be Like Jesus.

This is a book that includes compilations of Sathya Sai Baba's discourses and texts. It's a simple enough read but with profound truth contained in each of the sections. Each chapter looks at Jesus' life from a subtly different perspective. In The Clouds | 1/7/21   On the flight back to Charlotte now as I write this. Spent the last 3 weeks in KC learning a lot, and becoming more of the person that I want to be. Things I want to focus on this year and this quarter, I can already sense minor, but tangible shifts regarding those issues. I plan on posting this as my first blog post, so I'm really excited to start that project as well. Kicked off recording my vlogs so will edit them in batches weekly and release them a week after they were recorded. The planning project came to an end obviously and I was actually kinda sad because I had really involved myself in it. I almost didn't know what to do when that was done lol. Of course I did though since I had planned it all out. But it was bittersweet, yet extremely exciting to move from the planning phase to now the execution phase.

Spending time with family was a big thing to improve this year, so I definitely feel like I'm taking the next step (and a big one) to being closer to everyone The plan of having family meetings before I came to KC actualized, and we were able to discuss topics in detail. It was good getting aligned, or at least on the path to becoming aligned as a family, financially, relationships-wise home and other lifestyles, professionally, what we all want to learn, philanthropically, and others. These were heated arguments at times, times when tears were shed, laughs exchanged, and deeper thoughts had. There can be a lot of pressure internally and externally to do XYZ things or be ABC person, so talking things through gave us each a better understanding of how we think. Though there is a vast diversity in thought amongst the 4 of us, there are principles that we agree on that should guide us. It's easy to talk about those values when it's time to talk about those values, but how well do we internalize and practice them makes all the difference in actually living by those values. I hadn't necessarily been a part of these conversations all of the time since I'm not at home, but having maybe 10-15+ hours of discussion with them throughout this 3 weeks allowed me to break the ice more. One of the points of feedback that I received coming into this year was that I spend a lot of time listening to and watching content by "successful" people. This is true and can and is very valuable to me. But they said that I should also take time to learn more about my own friends, since they can have insights and provide value just as much, if not more, as these "successful" people. Obviously, included in that is also family. I put some friendships and even sometimes work as a 2nd priority during these 3 weeks to be more with the family. I'm glad I did so. This isn't something that's automatic to me so I'm making progress in that regards. I think I'll look back in 10 and 20 years when I'm a completely different person and think back to this month of December and January and say this is where it all turned around. Even though friends were a 2nd priority this time, I was still able to connect more openly and deeply with them, something else that I'm emphasizing this quarter / year. In the past, I might not feel as comfortable sharing what I did to the people that I talked to this 'break.' But I'm aware that I need to be consistent with anyone that I talk to, be it family, friends, or anyone else. And doing all this content generation will be a big piece of that. I don't need to share the exact same details with everybody, but I do need to have the same underlying principles and values while recognizing my assumptions and beliefs about why I want to share and act one way with one friend and do so differently with another. It's a long journey, but definitely a worthwhile one.

I also learned so much in the 3 books that I finished here. Still actually need to review my notes and debrief from them in the coming days and weeks to really understand, internalize, and practice the ideas, concepts and topics discussed in those books. Don't worry readers, I'll post the books I've read along with my notes of them on my website at some point so you too can perhaps connect with something or be inspired. After reading The Count of Monte Cristo recently, I almost relate exactly to Edmond Dantes. Everything before I moved to Charlotte was Dantes' normal life, about to be wed to Mercedes. Then the pandemic hit, I moved to Charlotte (he gets imprisoned). Up until now I had been experiencing life here and there but without a purpose and a mission (first X years of Dantes' imprisonment). Then now Dantes discovered Abbe Faria and was learning so much from him (that's me now). He tells Dantes of the riches that are there in the Isle of Monte Cristo. Most other people think he's crazy or naive but he wants to get there. I know all the spiritual, financial, emotional, professional, etc. riches that are available to me. But I must continue learning to reach that island. One day, I'll have a master plan that I'm architecting (of course instead of driven by vengeance I will be driven by love and compassion). And of course Charlotte is not a prison but just the environment where I'm learning about myself and all the possibilities out there. So in 10 or 20 years, I'll look back at these 3 weeks in December & January and realize this was the moment I discovered Abbe Faria and the possibilities of life!

SaiOS is my Life Operating System. It is how I organize my life philosophically, practically, and purposefully.

The goal of this entire series, of which this episode is Part 18, is aimed at giving a literal line-by-line description of what goes into each aspect of this operating system.

This episode breaks down how I structure all of my content. The organization of all these pieces of content and its relation to the Project and Action Items databases make it a symbiotic relationship. I talk through all of the views of the database that I have to bring to light various aspects of it depending on what I'm trying to achieve at the moment. I also touch on the other pages that the views of this Content Pipeline database are placed on.

If you want to understand who I am, who I'm becoming, how I live my ideal life, what things are prioritized and deprioritized for me, what my ultimate purpose and mission are, and anything in between, listening to this series is definitely one of the best ways to understand that.

The goal of this entire series, of which this episode is Part 17, is aimed at giving a literal line-by-line description of what goes into each aspect of this operating system.

This is a continuation of my last episode where I talk about the other databases housed under my Wisdome. Many of these were things that were originally captured as notes in Evernote or tables in Google Sheets / Excel. They are independent of other components of my Life Operating System, so all of those fall under this categorization.

This episode goes into my Wisdom Vault. This is the database that houses all of my learnings from content or otherwise, categorized by topic. Since all relevant information on a subject is aggregated here, it makes the access of information when I'm looking for something on that subject that much more seamless. It also acts as the Master Tag system, where the topics in here are the field values in other vault databases, ensuring system-wide consistency.

It is made with ease of capture in mind so that I can revisit them in the future.

This contains essentially every other form of content outside of books and courses, like podcasts, videos, articles, and documentaries.
