Yellowhead is one of the founders of the 56Stuff recording label, and he has released a lot of tracks there. So it was only a matter of time for the fellow label residents to grab Yellowhead’s opulent heritage, rip it apart, and reassemble it in a fashion they deemed fit. Yours truly picked for the purpose a short excerpt from this project: https://56stuff.com/releases/foldout.htm which was based on the Dadaist idea of producing creative work collectively by adding one’s bit to the end of the existing piece, hence the track title.
Indiffirent Listening is the antipode of the 56STUFF higly successful Different Listening series: musicians only had one week to compose their work, all tracks are to be called 'Whatever', and as such they were not to adhere to any particular conceptual or stylistic guidelines.
My new track opens 56STUFF 2020 compilation titled 'Ideas for Pop Producers to Steal'. It's based on samples cut out of vintage American radio jingles.
This is track #9 from the 2016 Gigbits album. I played it live at Cycle Hiccups’ warm up party in late 2013.
This is track number 8 on the Gigbits album. I played it live in 2012, opening for the band called Giallo. The venue had a dining section, so I was performing in front of people eating a meal, and I wanted to play something disconcerting for them. This is the third track from the Gigbits album. I played it live in St. Petersburg at a club called Shum in 2010. It features the voice of Choibalsan, mid-XX century Mongolian leader. Listen to the entire live set here: http://56stuff.com/mixesandsets/Idiosync_56STUFF_evening_SPb.htm
This is track number five from the album 'Gigbits'. I played it live in 2010 in St. Petersburg in a club called Shum. Listen to the entire set here: http://www.56stuff.com/mixesandsets/Idiosync_56STUFF_evening_SPb.htm Interestingly a lot of samples from this track became foundation for a much more mellow composition which I released years later: https://soundcloud.com/idiosync/35-discount
This is track #4 from the Gigbits album. I played it live in Taiga at the Teder Radio Pop-Up Bar in 2013. Listen to the entire gig here: https://soundcloud.com/idiosync/live-teder-space-taiga
This is the second track from the Gigbits album. It's an excerpt from my live set in Atelier, a club in St. Petersburg, back in 2010, hence the name.
