Logan Browning is a 2021 BYUI graduate. He completed two internships while in school. One with Hughes General Contractors in Salt Lake City as a field laborer and another with the Idaho National Laboratory as a Critical Infrastructure Analyst. After graduation he accepted a job with the Idaho National Laboratory as a full time Critical Infrastructure Analyst looking at how to be more resilient against cyber and physical attacks. Since recent is Digital Twin Visualization Scientist and Industrial Metaverse Functional Area Lead of Digital Engineering at INL. He currently supports digital engineering for Department of Homeland Security Cybersecurity Division, the Beartooth Nuclear Material Testbed and NNSA digital twin programs. His focus is on Building Information Modeling, critical infrastructure and extended reality, which includes virtual, augmented and mixed reality. He currently pursuing an MBA in Construction Management from Boise State.

Chamisa Davies graduated from BYU-Idaho in 2018, with a Bachelor's in Construction Management and a Associates in Architecture. She also competed in two ASC competitions, once as an alternate and the other as the team lead for the VDC team. Right out of college, Chamisa was hired as a VDC Engineer. Early in 2019, she transitioned to be Project Engineer on an OSHPD Hospital addition. In April 2020, since this project was winding down, she went to help with improvements for a home for the elderly. She is currently working at McCarthy as a VDC Engineer. Jeffrey Hoffman graduated from BYU-I with a Construction Management degree. Before moving to Rexburg, he learned how to flip homes in real estate. This is where he found his passion for construction. After working in the construction industry for a couple years, Jeffrey decided to go into law. He applied for law school at the Air Force Academy, where he was accepted and completed his lawyer degree. After practicing law, he decided to become an educator. Fatima Jeffrey graduated in 2019 in Construction Management from BYU Provo. While attending BYU, Fatima was involved in many organizations such as: Architecture Club, Women in Engineering, among others. She also served as an Interior Design Intern at Lake City Loft. Fatima interned as Architectural Drafter at Harbor Design Company custom-design homes and remodels. Currently working was a Revit Operator in developing as-built models.

Riley Welch graduated in 2017 in Construction Management. Before graduating, he participated in the NAHB 4-year student competition. His first internship was as a drafter planner in the AV productions department at BYU-I. Riley's second internship was with DSW Homes in Brooklyn, New York as superintendent. After graduating, he worked with StudioMX as a drafting project manager. He is currently working for Magleby Construction as a project manager.

Eric graduated from BYU-I in 2015 in Construction Management with a minor in Business Administration. He participated in the AC Competition as a scheduler. His Internship was with Jova Inc as field engineer. After school, he was hired by NRP Group as a field engineer then worked as an assistant superintendent. Currently he is a senior property manager and office administrator, while he is a husband and dad.

Nate Black graduated in 2015. He has a construction management major and his first internship was for McColm Reality Supervising construction, a commercial warehouse in Lindon, Utah.  Second internship Mortenson Construction – VDC internship supporting concrete and CMU lift drawings for several small projects in Denver, Colorado. Former ACMS member, participated in the competitions of ASC, BYU, UVU, and BYUI. After graduating, he got offered a job for Mortenson Construction. He had the opportunity to work on CSU football stadium, Saint Joseph Cancer Center Remodel, and currently working on a Facebook Data Center as a Sr. Integrated Construction Coordinator Data Center.

Aubrey got her associates in Architecture Technology and the bachelor's in Construction Management. She was a part of the ACMS club, and did the ACS event. Her first internship was with PCL working on the UCLA campus auditions. Second internship she continued interning for PCL this time she was setup a job site on the campus of Cal State Fullerton on the Titan Student Union Center. After graduating Aubrey got multiple job offers. She decide to take her skills and talents to Layton Construction.

Zachery McDonald graduated 2105 in Construction Management Major. He completed his first internship with Hensel Phelps in estimating at their Phoenix, AZ office where he learned to do quantity takeoffs, level subcontractor bids and participate in pursuits. Second internship had the opportunity in the field at a prison complex in Southern California where Hensel Phelps was building a new central utility plant, adding a new chiller pipe loop around the facility and upgrading the fire and HVAC systems in the facility.  Zach had the opportunity to be a part of the Mixed-Use ASC competition. Took 2nd in the Mixed- Use Competition. He had the opportunity to interview for an estimating position in Phoenix and accepted the opportunity to work at McCarthy in preconstruction where I have now been the last 5 years.

Mark Graduated in 2015. Had two internships. First internship was with Headwater Construction he was a Labor worker. Working on the Mountain Lofts approved student housing. Second internship he worked for Howard S. Wright focusing on BIM Management and working out the Portland Oregon office. After graduating he got offer to work for Howard S. Wright were he currently on the Block 216 project which is the first Ritz Carltron and 5 Star hotel in Portland, he's roll is QC Manger.

Graduated in 2016 was an ACMS President. Had three internships. First internship was with Capital R construction or he was a Principal Engineer on working on developments of charter schools. Second internship he worked for a BYUI design and construction office where he had the opportunity of being an Owner's Rep. Third internship he worked for Hensel Phelps where he was working there as an Office Engineer or Principal Engineer as well and was able to work there at the Marriott high rise in downtown Phoenix. After graduating he decided to go to Kitchell where he worked there as an estimator and plan manager he is a father of two boys.

Arn graduated in 2015. While attending BYUI-Idaho he attended and participated in the ASC Mixed Use and Commercial competition and served as a ACMS member. Arn had his first internship with Bright Homes in Boise Idaho. Where he had the opportunity in participated in building 180 homes. His second internship was with Ziwck Construction in Salt Lake City where he found his passion for commercial construction had the opportunity to work on the tunnels in BYU- Provo. After completing his second internship he was offered a full time position at Ziwck construction, while still having two semesters until he graduated. While raising his family of nine children. Ziwck offered him the position as a project engineer in one of the projects in Idaho Falls. He is currently working for Lyon  homes a startup residential company which builds Single Family Homes. He is the director of operations for Lyon Homes.

Jeremy graduated in 2007. While attending BYU-Idaho he participated in the ASC Design Build Competition and served as the ACMS President. Jeremy’s first and second internship were both with the Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory – a National Ignition Facility known for the “World’s Largest Laser. From 2007-2009 Jeremy then hired on full time with Layton Construction in Colorado working on the Four Seasons Hotel. He then went back to the National Laboratory until 2013 when he hired on with Hensel Phelps. Jeremy continues to work with Hensel Phelps working as a project superintendent.

Nick graduated in April of 2017. During school and early into his career, Nick served in the Utah Army National Guard for six years. He started working at David Weekly Homes that April of 2017 as a superintendent. He was running sixteen homes at a time with four-and-a-half to six months build times. Just short of two years later, Nick switched to H2 Homes. There, he continued working as a superintendent, building two-to-four million dollar homes, running about four homes at a time with twelve month build times. In July of 2020 He and his wife of six years built and completed their own home. In February 2021, Nick left H2 Homes to start his own finish carpentry business called Berlin Homes, LLC and aims to start building specialty homes in a year or so. Nick continues working on his business while producing a small YouTube Channel called Berlin Builds teaching DIY material as a licensed and insured General Contractor.

Tanner graduated with a Construction Management degree in 2015. Throughout his time in school, he worked during his off track as a sales representative and eventually Branch Manager for Rocky Mountain Insulation in Denver Co. In 2013 Tanner Interned with George J. Igel & Co, Inc., a heavy civil contractor out of Columbus Ohio. He later did his second internship with McCarthy Building Companies Inc. out of Phoenix Arizona. This experience led to full time employment where Tanner worked as a Project Engineer, Preconstruction Engineer, Sr. Preconstruction Engineer, and Procurement Manager between 2014 and 2020. Now, Tanner works as a developer for the Scheu Development Company, a small family business, in Simi Valley California.

Randy graduated with a Construction Management Degree with a minor in Business & Industrial Health & Safety in 2013. He did his first internship as a project engineer in 2009 with Anderson Drilling, a Civil Company out of Denver Colorado. Throughout his time in school, Randy worked in the Financial Aide Office as a Lead Student and Executive Office Assistant until 2012, when he then went on to do his second internship as an assistant Estimator for Bateman-Hall, Incorporated in Idaho Falls, Idaho. Randy has continued to work with them since then as a project manager and currently as a controller.

Kyle started school in January of 2016 with the intent of pursuing architecture, but soon realized that that path wasn't for him. Following advice from his first seminar, he and his wife decided to move to Utah where Kyle began framing residential homes. With his newfound hands-on experience, Kyle returned to school wanting to be a Project Manager for a home builder. His first internship was with Centra Homes in Minnesota. Despite the great company, Kyle realized that he didn’t want his career to be in residential forever. Kyle then pursued an interest in estimating where he had his second internship with CTI in Ogden Utah. In 2019, following some divine intervention, Kyle began working with Big-D Construction down in Arizona for a year and a half before making his way back to Utah, where he continues to work for BigD Construction today.

Cameron Jackson is a 2014 BYU-Idaho Construction Management graduate. While in school, Cameron did an internship as a project engineer first for The BOLDT Company and then Swinerton Builders with both companies being be based out of Sacramento California. In 2016, Cameron made an adventurous choice and moved to the bay area to work for a fully integrated modular company, known as RAD Urban. He continued to work for them as a Senior Project Engineer and later Project Manager until 2020 when Cameron left to join a few others to co-found another fully integrated modular company where they are developing and delivering new manufacturing concepts.

Nate Speth grew up in West Valley Utah. He attended USU for a year as a Landscape Architecture major before leaving to serve in the Romania/Moldova mission. Following advise from his mission president, Nate began to look into Management Degrees. With an interest in a more “hands on” or technical major, construction management caught his eye. Nate applied and graduated 3 years Later, while also working in the academic advising center. Nate did an internship for Brighton Homes-Idaho and Hensel Phelps while in school. After receiving a fulltime offer with Hensel Phelps, Nate started with them in August of 2016 after graduating. He worked in 4 different positions and moved to 3 different places in 4 years in Southern California and then had the opportunity to move back out to Utah and work in Salt Lake City with their development group. He currently Is working on the 26-story, 700 room convention center hotel in downtown.

Jordan Bales graduated from BYU-Idaho in Construction Management in 2014 with a minor in Business Management. Before that, Jordan worked with Schmueser & Associates in several capacities as a Carpenter, Junior Estimator, and Project Engineer. He did both of his internships with them and after graduating, hired on full time where he has had the opportunity to work as a Project Manager, Estimator, and Corporate Quality Assurance and Quality Control Manager. In 2018 Jordan then switched to Steed Construction Incorporate in Eagle Idaho as an estimator in the pre-construction department for a year before settling in Colorado with his family as he works remotely with Petra Inc. out of Boise, Idaho.

Wayne Web, who is a 2020 graduated from BYU-Idaho in Construction Management with an emphasis in Safety. Wayne was an active member of ACMS, and participated in the ASC competitions for 2 different years. Shortly after he went on to do an internship with Okland Construction where he was a Project Engineer on the Pocatello Temple project. Wayne continued to stay on with them part-time until he graduated. Despite job offers in Portland, Oregon and Salt Lake, Utah, he decided to stay in South East Idaho looking for job offers. With complications arising with COVID-19, Wayne decided to start his own flooring business known as, Aldercreek Hardwood Floors, where he continues to work for himself.

James Jensen a 1998 Ricks College graduate. He was one of the last graduating classes of Ricks College before becoming BYU-Idaho. He was able to intern with Greeley & Hansen Engineering in Chicago, Illinois. James went on to receive his Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Illinois at Chicago and then a Master’s degree in Business from Lewis University.  Since graduation, James has worked with Carrier Corporation moving all over the United States holding positions such as Project Manager, Area Manager and Business Manager. As of recent, James was Business Manager for the ALCS southwest field organization, a subsidiary of Carrier Corporation, who is a leading HVAC manufacturer and service organization. Recently he has been promoted to National Business Manager for ALCS Field Organization for all of North America.

Austin Butler, a 2019 Construction Management graduate. He was able to intern with both, Steed Construction in Boise, Idaho and Johnson Carlier in Tempe Arizona. After graduation, Austin has continued to work for Johnson Carlier as an estimator, which is a company owned by Big-D Construction.

Rudy Puzey attended Weber State University and graduated from Utah State University with a Master’s in Technology Education. He is a 4thgeneration builder from the Salt Lake City area and worked for 15 years in Logan, Utah as a General Contractor. In 1989, Brother Puzey was hired on by Rick’s College to start the Construction Management Program that was currently a 2-year carpentry program. The program started with 8 students and the goal was to transfer the students to BYU Provo’s 4-year CM program. From 2000 to 2004, Brother Puzey served as the Dean of Engineering during the time Rick’s College became BYU-Idaho. In 2008, Brother Puzey was called to Serve as the President of the Angles Philippines Mission and most recently, him and his wife have served as support missionaries in Mongolia.

Leon Rogers graduated from Weber State College in 1978 with a degree in Psychology and from Utah State University with a degree in Industrial Technical Education with a minor in Spanish. In 1981, he received his Master’s in Construction Management from Colorado State University. Continuing his education, Leon received his PhD in Construction Management in 1989 from Texas A&M.

In 1981, he became an Associate Professor at Brigham Young University teaching Construction Management. In 1993, he became the President of Wayne Homes overseeing the entire construction company that built 70-75 homes per year. In 1995, Leon returned to Brigham Young University and become a Construction Management Professor teaching everything from Construction Safety to even Technical Writing. In 2004, he became President of Construction Management Associates working with over 50 clients nationwide.

Some of Leon’s achievements would include presenting over 500 national seminars about Construction Management, receiving the outstanding Educator Award, having two publications and being an author of 20 peer-reviewed articles.

Jerry North is a 2007 Construction Management graduate. He was able to intern with both, Newmark Homes in Dallas, Texas and Jacobsen Construction Company in Salt Lake City, Utah. Once graduated from BYU-Idaho, Jerry started working for Jacobsen and served as a Project Manager, Project Engineer and an Estimator. After working for Jacobsen for 9 years, Jerry was hired as Director of Planning, Design, and Construction for University of Utah Health. A year later he was promoted to Senior Director of Facilities & Engineering & PDC, where he currently serves. In 2018, Jerry completed a Master’s in Business Administration from the University of Utah. Outside of work, He volunteers for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society and serves on the Swiss Day’s Board as the QA/QC Representative in Midway, Utah.

Geoff Nielson is a 2011 Construction Management graduate. He was able to intern with both, NBW Architects as a drafter and EA Property Care as a project Manager. Once graduated from BYU-Idaho, Geoff started working on his Master’s in Architecture from the University of Idaho. He graduated in 2015 with a certificate in Bioregional Planning and Community Design. Since his last year in graduate school until today, Geoff has been working for NBW Architects and has become a co-owner and principal architect. A few of his achievements would include being a licensed architect in 6 states, a member of the NCARB, a member of the AIA, he is LEED accredited and has a few other construction/architecture recognitions.

Andrew Gillett is a 2009 Construction Management graduate. He was able to intern with Kiewit Corporation and then found himself working there after graduation. In 2011, Andrew relocated to Arizona to work for McCarthy Building Companies as an Estimator. Since being there, Andrew has traveled the U.S. working on projects from the ASU Bio design Institute, to the new Las Vegas Raiders Stadium to a $1 million dollar wrestling room at local high school in Arizona.

Brian and Shannon Drees are 2006 and 2007 BYU-I Construction Management graduates. They are married and went through the program together. While in school they got married, did two internships together with Pulte Homes and SMA Consulting in Florida. After they spent some time in Rexburg finishing up school, they decided to move to Las Vegas and immerse themselves in what they learned in school. Today, they live in Denver, Colorado still working and making an impact in the Construction Industry.

Taylor Cardon is a 2009 BYU-Idaho Construction Management graduate. He was able to intern with both, Chapman Companies as he met with government officials collaborating about the needs of the area and SG Western Construction as a Field Supervisor at the Los Alamos National Laboratory. Taylor moved around within a few companies before settling down with JB Henderson Construction back in 2011. He currently acts as a Project Manager that has worked on a verity of projects and has implement new processes and procedures for Project Management and Heavy Civil Work.

Josh Miller is a 2018 BYU-Idaho Construction Management Graduate. He completed three internships before graduating. All three were done with Swinerton Builders in Portland, Oregon. After graduation, Josh was hired on by Swinerton Builders in their VDC Department working in the Mass Timber Division.

Tyler Martin is a 2008 BYU-Idaho Construction Management graduate. He completed both of his internships before graduating. One was done with LC Construction in Rexburg, Idaho and his second one was done with Nucor Building Systems in Brigham City, Utah. Tyler has a vast list of experience in the construction industry from drafting to Project Manager. He is currently working as a Project manager for SME Steel and has worked on projects ranging from the Golden State Warriors Area, to the LaVell Edwards Football Stadium, to the Facebook Campus Expansion Project to the old U2 Stage at the Living Planet Aquarium in Utah.

Christopher Watkins is a 2017 BYU-Idaho Construction Management graduate. He completed both of his internships before graduating. His first one was done with Cornerstone General Contractors in Seattle, Washington and the other was done with K hovnaniam Homes in Phoenix, Arizona. Since graduating, Christopher has been working for DK Mullon Architects, as well as completing his master’s in architecture. He is expected to graduate in May of 2021.

Jared Jordan is a 2020 BYU-Idaho Construction Management graduate. He completed both of his internships before graduating. His first one was done with a landscape company in Rexburg, Idaho and the other was done with Magleby Construction in Sun Valley, Idaho. While in school and just before graduating, Jared was President of ACMS. Since graduation, Jared was hired on by AllTerra Consulting as a Project Manager in Boise, Idaho.

Reed is 1975 Arizona State University construction graduate and continued his education, receiving a Masters as well. Reed has 4 publications about the construction industry. He has 26 years of experience in project, construction and contract management of power plant, refinery, telecommunications projects and research and development with various Bechtel entities. He has held positions from Project Engineer to President of Brazilian joint venue telecommunications company. Reed began teaching at BYU-Idaho in 2005 and retired in 2016 as Department Chair of the Design and Construction Management Department. Currently Reed and his wife are missionaries assigned to the Church’s special project group working with the contractors and architects who are responsible for the design and construction of the Belem, Para, Brazil Temple.

Quinn and Anisha Chick are both 2015 BYU-Idaho Construction Management graduates. They completed both of their internships before graduating. Their first internships were done with PCL Construction in Bakersfield California and their second ones were done with Howard S. Wright (Quinn) and PCL Construction (Anisha) in Seattle, Washington. Since graduating, Quinn and Anisha have found themselves staying busy with work and family in the Seattle Area.

One was done with Southwest Gas in Las Vegas, Nevada and the other was done with Ry-land Homes (known as Cal-Atlantic) in Northern Virginia. Since graduating, Emily has worked and is currently working for Verity Homes as an estimator based out of Bismarck, North Dakota.
